Description of Work: I contacted Taylor Made and requested an estimate to remodel a hallway bath that is in a rancher. The job was to combine a 1/2 bath with my hallway bath to make 1 bathroom. Even combining the two the bathrooms it still would not be that big 5' x 15' at the most. The gentleman immediatley said I was talking upper $20,000 range. I was shocked but still thought well I will get a quote anyway once they see it maybe it will change. He mentioned on the phone several times upper $20,000 range. After talking to 2 other contractors and friends they said that was laughable and more than double maybe triple what it would really cost to do my bathroom. Maybe he told me that cause he didn't want a job that small I don't know. I cancelled my estimate appointment and chose to go somewhere else. I'm not sure how you can quote properly without seeing the job.

Description of Work: We have used Kevin's company for many years, for all sorts of projects (built-up gardens, decks, designing and constructing a portico over our front door and replacing our deck flooring 2 years ago with AZEK decking products). He also did a deck at another house we lived in in Baltimore city. We've been very pleased with his work, and the care his crews put into their work. Recently, with our windy winter days, we lost a piece of siding. Another raining, wintry day, the window in our foyer decided to leak (our house is 18 years old). Both times, I called Kevin, and told him I needed his help. Even though what I needed done was not a huge project like those he usually takes on (and does so well), he quickly sent out his crew to do each repair. (yes, even in the rain, they did a repair to stop the rain from coming in the window. Later when the weather warms up, we'll have to re-do some flashing and he will take care of that for me. Point is, he understood the urgency, did not want me to have water damage to my inside wall, and was willing to help me out - and his crew arrived at my house within ONE HOUR of my calling him! If that is not service, I dont' know what is ....) OK, some other reviewers have said he is reluctant to take on smaller projects -- I totally disagree! Once you are his customer, especially a repeat customer, he treats you like family (or better :)). I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Taylor Made for any of your needs!!!

Description of Work: I requested an estimate for basic demolition and very light touch renovation. Mr. Taylor's estimate was excessive, estimating 10,000 for a 600 square foot room - 2000 for demo only. I elected, based on his estimate, to do the work myself. I spent less than 1000 and three weekends. I do not know why the estimated cost was so high. He did reply promptly and arrive on time, and he was very nice.

Description of Work: I contacted Taylor Made through Angie's List to complete a small list of projects around my house. Projects that were slightly above handyman services but not full on renovations either. Kevin contacted me within 30 minutes of my email through Angie's List at 8pm! We talked about the services I wanted. I thought Kevin and his team were more high end than what we were looking for. Our home is in a low income area and we are putting it on the market. We were not looking to spend a lot of money or put in anything fancy. He told me he would be in my area the next week and would come take a look. We made an appointment. I ended up finding another contractor that I liked and canceled our appointment, When I called to cancel Kevin was very professional and understood my choice. I will keep Kevin in mind for our next home if we need renovations.

Description of Work: They removed the bathroom down to the joist and studs. They rebuilt all the walls , floor and ceiling to level and plumb. Installed Durock and green board. Performed all the plumbing, electrical work and painting.
