They arrived early, 7:30 each day. Four or five were there working. Basement was first on list. They all did their work, I was very pleased. All of them were very nice and professional. Put mortar in Firebox and floor. (Firebox floor was added, I did not notice missing mortar (Gary Jr. brought it to my attention). L.R. wall was patched. Cut out a small piece of drywall in basement and replaced. Caulk was put around kitchen sink and counter, very nice job. Caulk was also removed and new put around bathtub. That was hard because there was a very large space between wall and tub. Gary did a nice job. Next day the outside was done with 2 workers. Replaced some shingles on roof. Installed new crown on top of chimney and sealed flashing around chimney and roof. Cleaned out gutters (didn't charge). I was very pleased with all the men and all the work. Gary Sr. had a good idea about a piece of finishing wood I had in the basement, I had asked if he had a small piece of something to put between my stovetop and back wall and he mentioned the wood trim he had seen in the basement and it was cut and painted and put up. I like how they work with you and offer suggestions and come up with different ideas. And they don't mind if you change something or add something. If you have to have work done it's so much nicer to have good people doing it! Also another young worker was very helpful.

This is my second time using Perryhall Remodeling , and as it was the first time when they added a front porch, it all went very well. Gary is a very honest contractor and his workers are too. They are very respectful of your home when they are working, keeping everything as clean and orderly as possible.They worked in my house for over five weeks alone, and it all was left in good condition everyday. Everything in the bathroom was replaced, including some of the walls, the complete ceiling with crown molding.It all turned out beautiful ! Thanks guys for another great job !

Gary and his team were great. They were responsive to questions and addressed any concerns that we had - which were minimal due to their expertise, eye for detail and high quality work. Gary visited the site regularly. Joe managed the work and was on the job every day and was very professional. Joe and his helper worked in the brutally cold temperatures that we had in January! I recommend Gary without hesitation and we will use his services again.

Gary and his team were amazing! Gary responded very quickly to all my inquiries and was able to get our roof done in several days from the time we signed our contract. My Dad commented on how well his team worked together and he is tough to impress! I would recommend Gary and his team to friends and family without hesitation.

Timothy, Gary's brother, did a good job providing me a quote quickly. Even though I took forever to get back with him on the contract, he was very understanding. We had to wait until after the holidays to schedule the work. I checked in with Timothy about 2 weeks into the new year and he was able to put me on the calendar. The fellows who came to do the work did a great job. It wasn't fast, but it was done well. they reinsulated the wall where it was cut away and the drywall work is stunning. They even patched a few places in my kitchen walls at no charge. They left the place nice and clean. Communicating with Timothy was very open and honest. If I needed to know anything he was very responsive via text or phone. The price seemed reasonable. I don't know anything about what these things are supposed to cost, but for the quality of work they did, I can justify every cent. I'm already thinking about the next project I want to hire them for :)

A third party provider did the actual roof work. I was initially impressed with the number of workers who arrived to do the roof. They immediately got started and worked together like a well oiled machine. They covered the shrubs around the house with tarp so they would not get damaged from falling debris. The crew supervisor said the job would take 2 days, but at the end of the second day we were told they ran short on shingles and given it was late, they couldn't locate someone who had them available, they would need to come back the next week. Initially they said they couldn't get back on Monday and it would be sometime after that, after the crew left we called Gary Howard who agreed with us that they should come back on Monday. He made some calls, called us back and the crew supervisor came back on Monday and finished putting the final touches on the roof. Given the time of year we had it done, the cold weather was starting to set in, so some of the shingles did not lay perfectly flat on the roof. We were told that when the sun hits the roof it will eventually soften up the coating under the shingles and both will relax and lay flatter. Only time will tell.

Gary, his son, and his associates were a life saver for me. My husband took a new job and we suddenly we found ourselves needing to sell our house ASAP. Gary and his associates moved quickly to render us assistance and did a good job. We were able to get the house on the market within 5 weeks and it sold shortly after that.

Gary's son and an associate came to do the work. I thought they did an excellent job, and took great pride in doing a good job. When all said and done we were very pleased.

I had compiled a list of projects we were considering having done to improve our home which was built in 1986. After doing a great deal of research, we decided on Perryhall Remodeling, based on the number of positive reviews reported on Angie's List. I contacted the Company by phone and explained a little bit about what improvements we were looking to have done to our 28 year old home and asked that the owner return the call. I received a call back from Gary Howard, Sr., the owner of the company, within 24 hours and we arranged a meeting at our home two days later. Gary Howard, Sr. and his brother Tim Howard arrived on time and we got down to business. Gary, Sr and Tim were very friendly and professional as we discussed the work we were considering. Gary and I walked through the inside and outside of the house as I explained what we needed. Gary was very attentive, and took notes and asked questions and made professional suggestions as we walked. The most urgent projects included replacing 3 skylights which had been leaking for sometime and repair to the surrounding drywall, which had been severely damaged. We needed two new patio doors along with the restoration of two decks, plus power washing of the entire house. I wanted floor tile installed in the powder room and master bath. I also wanted the gutters in the front and back of the house cleaned out and gutter guards installed throughout. I needed something done with the downspout next to the porch that was allowing water to damage the side of the porch, plus the replacement of 3 ceiling fans, the weatherproofing of the front door and the shaving of the bottom of an interior door that was scraping the floor plus replacing the door bell ringer. We agreed on a price, and I signed off on a written contract. Gary, Sr. was worried about the weather and wanted to get started on the outside work as soon as possible. I, of course, agreed and the skylight project started within a week. Gary, Tim and the work crew arrived bright and early on the agreed upon date to install the skylights and service the roof. Gary had upgraded the skylights he purchased for us without additional charge. He was very concerned that we never experience the water leakage we had experienced with the old skylights. (I found a repeat of this kind of thoughtfulness throughout our working relationship. Just a few examples would include the following: When two pieces of damaged siding previously hidden behind the old deck boards, was now revealed, Gary, Sr. replaced the siding with undamaged pieces of siding we had saved, at no charge. He had his team install three ceiling fans for us at no charge. He purchased and installed a door bell ringer at no charge and Gary, Jr. replaced our flood lights for us at no charge). Now back to the skylight project: The 3 Skylights were installed without a problem and they looked amazing from the street and from inside the house. No more leaks!!! At the same time that the Skylight were being installed, Gary and his son, Gary, Jr., walked the entire roof and found there were some imperfections in the previous re-construction of the chimney. They recommended a reconstruct upgrade to the chimney with new plywood and aluminum. I agreed to the improvements, because we had problems in the past with water leakage from that chimney. Since this remodel of the chimney, I have not had any further problems with water leakage. Gary, Jr. also worked on the redirecting of the downspout away from the front porch. This downspout was directing rain water too close to the house which resulted in an incredible amount of damage to the side of the front porch. To fix the problem, Gary, Jr. cut off the downspout just directly about the porch roof gutter, resulting in a direct feed into this gutter which eliminated direct water damage to the side of the porch. (How simple a fix and how Genius!! - Thanks Gary, Sr. for the solution) The damaged cement was cleaned up and new cement was pored to protect the side porch in the future. The next major outside project was the restoration of two (2) decks. My husband and I had not taken the best of care of the original decks, and this resulted in a lot of damage to the wood. Gary, Sr. recommended that we forgo the power washing of these decks because of the poor condition of the deck boards. Instead the deck boards would be replaced with pressure treated decking and the railing be replaced with white vinyl railings. He told us that the decks foundations appeared to be undamaged and did not need to be replaced. A four man crew got to work with the demolition and rebuild of the two decks. The finished decks are beautiful! The workmanship is impressive! I get compliments on these decks all the time. Kudos to the Team! Thank you Mike, Josh, Bill and Gary, Jr. Next on the project check off list was the repair to all drywall that was damaged by the water leakage from the 3 old skylights. The walls that were water damaged included the front entry foyer walls and ceiling, the 3 skylight wells including the master bathroom ceiling, front hallway ceiling and additional patching throughout. Followed by 2 coats of paint. Again, an excellent job!! During this same time the entire house was power washed and the gutters and downspouts were cleaned out, in preparation for gutter guards to be installed. Once the gutters were cleaned, Gary Howard, Sr. and his brother Tim Howard arrived a few days later to personally install the gutter guards. A few more leaves had to be removed from the gutters first. Gary recommended that the gutters at the top of the house, front and back should have new white aluminum flashing installed under the roof into gutters along with new spikes in the back and front of the house before the guards were installed. The lower gutters did not need the flashing and new spikes. I agreed to the improvement and he did the work. After the flashing and spikes were installed, gutter guards were installed throughout. (Another job well done!) (I just wanted to mention that Gary, Sr. has excellent communication skills. He stops over at least a few times a week to touch base and review the project in progress. He has kept us updated as to the timetable of our projects so we know what to expect. We have appreciated this communication.) Next up was the renovation of the Powder Room. I had originally thought that I would like to have floor tile installed, although I was worried about the condition of the floor. It seemed very soft and uneven and I was worried about the tile breaking later. Gary, Sr. and I discussed the situation and he agreed that the floor should be stabilized before the tile was installed. I decided I would also like to have the existing wallpaper removed, the walls repaired and painted and the vanity sink and toilet replaced. I refinished the old vanity myself and it turned out great. Our contract was updated and the work began. Once the sub-floor was upgraded, the floor was as solid as a rock. The "A" team worked on this project and did an another amazing job! We love it!! Next we're moving right along with the repair and replacement of damaged drywall in the kitchen/family room walls and ceilings plus patchwork throughout the rooms as needed. Followed by 2 coats of paint. We had quite a bit of damage caused over the years from water leakage from the Master bathroom which is located directly above the kitchen/family room area. The drywall was expertly repaired and a large section needed to be replaced. Once it was painted, you would never know any of the repairs were done. This was very recently finished, just in time to have the new French Doors installed. What an incredible job this team has done again!! Now I have to decide what window treatment to use on our new doors. Decisions! Decisions! Now we come to the final and most sensational project. As I mentioned, we had experienced a lot of water leakage from the Master bathroom over the years. Each time we would have the problem fixed, but it would reoccur over and over. Never did we realize that the sub floor in the master bathroom was deteriorating over the years, but we sure found out when work began on upgrading the floor in the master bathroom for the installing of floor tile. The Team had begun to remove the existing floor covering to begin the upgrade of the sub floor. Gary, Sr. arrived unexpectedly and went immediately to the master bathroom. When he called me up, I knew something had to be wrong. The floor in the shower/toilet area had rotted floor and joists throughout. It was even wet in places. We decided to completely gut the master bathroom and completely redesign. Gary, Sr. gave me an amazing price and everyone went to work. I decided to remove the bathtub which had not be used in years and we expand the size of the shower area and removed the old single vanity and replaced it with a new double vanity. Everything in the room is new. I bought an executive shower unit with an amazing shower door and hardware. A new toilet, double vanity, double vanity sinks, mirrors, vanity lights and the entire floor is now tiled. New plumbing and electrical was installed and new drywall installed to frame the shower unit. Everything is new and expertly installed - it is stunning!!! I would give Gary Howard, Sr. and his highly skilled and professional team an A+ in all categories if that rating were available. I could not be any happier with the quality of the work that has been performed in my home. I would highly recommend Gary Howard, Sr. and Perryhall Remodeling to all of my friends and neighbors. Because of the outstanding service I have received, I would also like to nominate Perryhall Remodeling for the Angie's list "Page of Happiness".

Gary and the team at Perryhall Remodeling are great to work with. They were always punctual, kept me well informed of what they were doing, and cleaned up thoroughly when they were finished. I plan on hiring them for additional projects down the road, and wouldn't hesitate to recommended them to friends and family.

This is the 2nd time we called on Gary and Perryhall to perform a job. We were interested in getting our basement finished, but did not know where to begin. I called Gary asking if he knew anyone or if he could do some design work for us and lay out our basement plans. He called me back that day stating he knew someone who was good with this sort of work and could take on the job. While we were interested in starting the basement, our budget could not allow us to go all the way through with it in one year. I asked Gary if he could quote out various stages of the work (framing, electrical, etc) and he was very amenable to it. Unfortunately he was but was booked with work. He referred me to a another contractor friend of his, Joe, who we would work with to get a design and layout idea of our basement. Joe was very professional and helpful in this process. He met with us in the evenings when it was convenient to us, offered great ideas and suggestions, and made sure we were all on the same page. Joe and his team did a very good job on the framing. All other contractors were professional, prompt, and very courteous while working on our basement. Other work included full framing, a complete electrical installation (our basement only had two outlets, and minimal lighting), and some drywall and painting in one room. The cost went above our original quote, but we did add more work than the scope of the original contract dictated. I believe the pricing was fair. Gary and Joe were patient and gracious enough to break down the costs of the project as we requested, and we were able to spread out payments out over the duration of the project. We hope to continue on with the rest of the basement next year as our finances dictate. Overall, we are very pleased with how the project went and how it has gone so far. To summarize, Gary did a great job of meeting and managing our expectactions, referred us to very qualified people to assist us, and was flexible in payment. Gary and Joe followed through and made sure we were satisfied with the outcome. We are very happy with it!

The project went great! The crew was punctual and professional. They completed the work within the estimated timeframe and were very friendly guys to work with. I was so impressed with the quality of the work, I decided to rehire Perryhall Remodeling to replace my roof and rebuild my porch!

I contacted Perryhall Remodeling/Gary right around Christmas 2013, the busiest time of the year. We met right after Christmas and roof servicing was complete 1st week of 2014. Gary advised he wanted to wait until weather was warmer to do the waterproofing/seal. He returned 2 weeks later to complete. So happy to say for now, no leaks ! I would definitely use Gary and his team again, when I get more time to devote to house remodel. Thanks Gary and hope to touch back soon.

Contract Gary with Perry Hall Remodeling after reading reviews on this site. After initial consultation we decided to have the shower expanded by 12' with new shower door and recessed alcove (shelf). All bathroom wall and floor tiles replaced. All non tile walls and ceiling repainted. New lighting fixtures and new towel bar installed. We ordered all requested materials and work started on 9/9/2014. The workers arrived on time and were knowledgeable and professional. This work required new walls to be installed so there was quite a bit of demolition on the first day. As with many projects several unexpected issues cam up, but Gary and his crew dealt with them professionally and efficiently. The recessed alcove was a suggestion by on of the crew. It turned out great. This remodel took a total of eight days. The new bathroom looks outstanding! I highly recommend Perry Hall Remodeling to anyone looking to change and/or upgrade their residence.

They arrived the day after I accepted the proposal. Very punctual, hard-working, pleasant. After the work was done, they sent me photos showing me the completed work. It's been one year since the work was done, and I've not had any problems with roof drainage.

I waited awhile to write a review to see any leaking after heavy rains. So far I have been dry. After Gary finished the work he called me several times after a heavy rain to see if there was any leaking. He wanted to make sure there was not any problems and if there was he would come back to fix it. His company is very professional and really cares about his customers. I will be using them in the future.

Our deck is beautiful. They did a great job. The men performing the work were punctual, answered questions that we had and completed the job quicker than we expected. The pricing was also good. We had a couple of issues that we called them back for. They took care of one issue but we are still waiting for the other one to be fixed (replace a spindle in the railing). I would definitely use them again and recommend their services. I love my deck!!

Gary and his men were friendly, professional and completed the work in a timely fashion. They are consummate craftsmen who know how to work with copper and other materials. I have no doubt the restorations they made will outlast the rest of the house. They also went above and beyond the call of duty: While they were here working, I pointed out that mice were getting in through an exterior vent. The following day they fashioned and installed a small screen to cover it. One of the chimneys was still leaking a bit months later and they came back and re-coated it without so much as a grumble. I would not hesitate to use Perryhall Remodeling again.

Gary and his team were very responsive, professional, punctual. Provided estimate and completed work in a timely fashion. Gary stopped by several days after the work was completed to follow-up, during which time he made an adjustment to the solar fans to maximize efficiency.

Gary Howard Sr. started the project as stated in the contract, there were not interruptions. He gave me a few good ideas related to the remodeling The laminate floor and the carpet were installed be another party and as soon as the installation was done Gary and his people promptly came to install the baseboard and put the finishing touches. The quality of work is high and my husband and I are very pleased. I should also mention attention to details and willingness to work with the customer.

On Aug 5, 2014, PerryHall Remodeling, Jarrettsville, MD did a new roof job for me, that included removing old shingles, checking for rotten wood, installing new felt, shingles, weather watch, drip edge, vent pipe collars, ridge vents, and cleaning the gutters. I found them on Angie?s List, saw the good reviews from satisfied customers, and now join their ranks. PerryHall Remodeling proved out all the desired traits that a customer wants from the contractor of a major project, i.e., the work was good, fast, well-priced, and comprehensive. The roofing team, comprised of twelve or so extremely experienced roofers, worked fast (whole job took less than 5 hours), hard, efficiently, and with good attention to detail and engagement with the customer. They performed with the efficiency and coordination of a well-organized professional sports team. I personally watched with amazement as this team did its work. I will use PerryHall Remodeling again for any needed home remodeling work, and can highly recommend them for roofing work. I?m glad I selected PerryHall over the other estimates for the same work.

Perryhall Remodeling gave us a quote for renovating the laundry room and two bathrooms. Before they started work, the roof leaked and we had water damage in the den. They gave me a quote for the den and said they would fit it in while they were already here doing other work which was greatly appreciated. While gutting one of the bathrooms, they noticed water damage because there was no sheathing(?) put on when the roof was replaced (where the shingles meet the gutters). That was added to the list and they did that before they finished the bathroom. The renovations, including new tile floors, wood trim, painting, plumbing and a lot more, look amazing and were expertly done. I had complete trust in the workers and sometimes left a key for them to let themselves in or lock up when we weren't at home. Gary and Tim were honest, professional and helpful through the entire process. I always received updates and knew I could call or text at any time if I had any questions. They were also very patient and understanding with my elderly mother. Gary has checked in a couple times since the work was completed to make sure we were satisfied with everything. I would not hesitate to hire them again!

My home was damaged by last winters ice storm. Received four estimates from contractors on Angie's List. Gary was the lowest bid for roof replacement and also was able to bid repairs needed for window replacement and other outside carpentry. Gary and his crew performed the work in a timely and professional manner. he followed up until project was completed to my satisfaction. Very pleased with work done by Perryhall Remodeling and would highly recommend.
