We were doing siding at the same time, so they had to take down and put back up the heavy-up work on the outside. They agreed to give us a reduction in price for their second trip, even though it was really our fault, so they were good folks to work with. I don't remember the exact price, but they were slightly below the competing bids I got--in other words, they were willing to negotiate and work with the customer. Good guys all around.

They are absolutely delightful to deal with. The technicians were on time, worked in a professional manner, left the work areas clean, and were helpful with anything I requested. I now consider Wilcox Electric my electricians, and I have already recommended them t friends.

The electrician arrived to determine the work that needed to be done. He was very knowledgeable and pleasant. He told me an estimate would be sent following his visit. My challenge lay in working with the person at the office. I had to call to get the estimate two weeks after the initial visit. I then followed up to let her know that there were two items missing from the estimate. There was no response, so I followed up again and she told me she would speak with the electrician and have him add the two items. I also requested that we schedule a date as I was leaving the country for two weeks. No response. Followed up again and was told the electrician was on vacation and that she would follow up with him once he got back a couple of days later. No response. The following week I sent an e-mail letting her know that if I did not hear from her by Monday I would presume the company was no longer interested in the job. No response. Perhaps the job was too small for the company. I am in a small condo building, but would have been happy to recommend to others. This process began in early November, so I have wasted two months of my time with this company.

Dale and helper Ryan were just great. They did a wonderful job rewiring inside and outside. I would recommend them to anybody. They were on time and very professional but friendly. They were easy to talk to and described the problems with me.

Wilcox Electric is an excellent choice for electrical work. I contacted Wilcox Electric Friday morning at approximately 9:00am and by late afternoon my problem was resolved. Steve was professional, knowlegdable, prompt and very pleasant. I plan to use Wilcox Electric in the future for other electrical work, and I highly recommend them to others.

Installed a ceiling fan, flush mount light fixture and performed a general safety inspection. We have used them in the past. We moved from their service area this summer but would be happy to use them again.

We called Wilcox recently to get an estimate on outdoor security lighting and some other misc. small jobs. Mr. Wilcox was prompt in coming out for the estimate and very professional and creative in his recommendations. That's the good part. The bad part. We never heard further. No estimate, no response to our phone call checking in. What a disappointment, as there was every reason to believe this would have been an attractive option for us. The D is a gift in that failure to at least give us a call and let us know that they wouldn't be able to take on our job slowed us in looking at other options.

Estimates I had from other companies were ridiculous. Wilcox provided a reasonable estimate, only installed high-grade fixtures and were very professional. I was also the General Contractor on my project and they helped me with the minute details of timing and other issues.

Will not hesitate to use them again in the future when other projects are done that need electrical work.

They're terrific: they show up on time, are polite and professional, do first-rate work, and clean up after themselves. Unlike some electricians we've used, the people Wilcox sends out appreciate that they're working in a home, not a commercial construction site.

Installed light over sink and added an electrical plug in the closet.

On Nov. 9, 2009, Wilcox Electric separated house circuit from junction box and ran new circuit to box and put downstairs (basement) lights on that circuit. Also replaced #7 breaker in panel. This work was necessary because I was having continuous circuit breaker kick outs in my home. Mr. William Hutchins (mechanic) arrived on time and explained that I did not need a heavy-up. He performed work in a very professional and satisfactory manner.

We lost power to a circuit in our family room and to the deck. I called Wilcox on Wednesday and they indicated that they could do the job the next day between 8:30 and 9:00 Am. Dale and Ryan arrived shortly after 9:00 AM, quickly identified the problem and rewired the circuit. The crew was very professional and answered all of my questions and completed the job in about one hour. I am completely satisfied with their work.

Wilcox folks installed new kitchen lights for me in April. I rang them up for the above-described work on Monday morning and the installer arrived after lunch. No extra charges for travel time or same-day help, which I definitely needed. I think $162 for the first hour and $98 for subsequent hours is a little high. But both Howard, who helped me today, and Dale, who worked for me in May, are extremely competent, courteous, and professional. This is a family-owned business that's doing everything right.

The day of the work went fine, but the new fans were far too loud -- the techs came back that day and agreed that they weren't working right. But it took weeks of my badgering the company by phone and email to get them to come back and fix it. When they did, the tech said that they'd misquoted the project and that with the return work, the charge wasn't covering them. I felt like that wasn't my fault -- they'd installed fans with which they hadn't worked before, and they were substandard, and for weeks I thought they just wouldn't ever come back to make it right. A frustrating experience all around, maybe for everyone.

Wilcox electricians take pride and responsibility in their work. We have been using Wilcox Electric since around 1998, well before Angies List ever exist. Wilcox Electric was was highly recommended to me by our appliance repairman Skip (of Skip?s Appliance Repair). We have used Wilcox Electric for a wide variety of electrical projects, which have included installing multiple ceiling fans, rewiring an antique kitchen chandelier, rewiring an attic, re-configuring a three-way switch, upgrading an old circuit box inadequate for our current appliances, installing a motion sensor security light, installing a whole-house surge protector, and rewiring our indoor phone lines, among others (which I do not remember). We called Wilcox Electric after the HVAC technician diagnosed a lack of electric current reaching our boiler (furnace). We needed an electrician who could come quickly, was reliable, could diagnose the problem, and could get the job done quickly and inexpensively. Our needs met with the Wilcox Electric electrician who came to our house.The electrician arrived when expected and wasted no time in diagnosing the problem and repairing the defective switch. Had the electrician not diagnosed the overheating transformer box, this could have lead to a fire with devastating results.
