Steve and his team at Wilcox Electric LLC have been our "go to guys" for over three years. When we bought our new house, there were a ton of problems with our electrical. Steve helped us prioritize our work over the past couple years so that we can keep within our budget. The quality has been top notch and he is always open to answering my "dumb" questions with respect and patience. They are the "genius bar" of electrical services.

Steve S. arrived on time, was professional, and charged me a fair rate given that the service call did not take very long at all. I would highly recommend Steve S. and Wilcox.

From getting the estimate over year ago to the installation earlier this, they were very professional. My wife and I are pleased with their work.

We've worked with Wilcox in the past year on two very substantial projects: 1) A heavy up involving replacing our electrical panel and the electrical line going to the outside meter box, as well as the outside meter box. The project took a couple of days and they were clean, professional and prompt. They coordinated the DCRA inspection as well and gave us all of the information that we needed to coordinate with PEPCO (although they do not do that for you). That work cost about $5,000. 2) A landscaping project that involved running conduit for landscape outlets and lighting. This involved coordinating with our landscaper, as well as two separate DCRA inspections, and the process took about two months (not because of Wilcox but because their work had to be completed in stages as the landscaping was completed). We encountered some difficulties in the process, but Wilcox made sure to communicate with us constantly throughout the two month process, and Steve Wilcox himself even came out to the site on several occasions to make sure things were moving along smoothly. I would definitely recommend using Wilcox, even if their price is a little higher than a competitor. Their great service is worth every penny and you can be confident that they are doing everything by the book.

This could not have gone any better and Steve is AMAZING! He was able to come out the same day that I called and when he took a look at what needed to be done he said he would be able to start right then and there, to get power back for us that day. As soon as I gave him the OK, he went right to work right away. He was able to have an associate come out with the new cable and had everything completed within a couple of hours. He explained what I needed to say to Pepco to have them come back out so that they would turn the power back on for us. This helped as Pepco came back out fairly quickly and for electrical companies that is not always the case. Steve even called back later to confirm that Pepco came back out and that we had power. Also, he did such a great job, that not only did our neighbors what his information but also the tree service that was taking down the tree because they were so impressed that he jumped on the work immediately. Without Steve and Wilcox Electric it would likely have been a couple days without power but they really saved the day by getting power back on for us that same day. He is really a great person and I will only use Wilcox Electric for any and all electrical work. Thank you Steve and Wilcox Electric, you were the highlight of the day!

I really appreciated how Wilcox Electric took the time to explain the heavy-up process to me ahead of time so I knew to charge up my laptop the night before. On the day of service, David and Rodney arrived right on time. They discussed all the work to be performed to make sure they had it correct, surveyed the site, and set right to work. I was impressed with their ability to explain some of the more complex concepts to someone with very little electrical knowledge. David and Rodney were very professional and left the work area clean. They made sure I was happy with the work before they left for the day. David and Rodney are top notch! I would not hesitate to recommend Wilcox Electric and will be using them again for all my old house electrical needs :-)

We had just purchased our home in December of 2015 and immediately noticed flickering lights that by Spring had deteriorated into full out brownouts in half our home. Our technician, Dale, with Wilcox Electric, was the consummate pro. He quickly diagnosed that our load center had severe rust and corrosion and had scorched connections due to water/moisture entering the panel box from the meter. The development company that rehabbed our home did not do a thorough inspection before deciding to not replace the load center. Thanks to Dale and the diagnosticians at Wilcox, we had a new load center and renewed peace of mind within a week of notifying them. They will be our go to team for all issues and upgrades in the future. The customer service, responsiveness, and technical expertise was all exceptional and the price was fair.

Great technicians that were friendly, and knowledgeable. They were able to immediately identify the issue, and fix within an hour.

I called Wilcox and he personally came in and fixed the problem without any issue. I really loved working with him.

The work was excellent. Steve called me in advance to let me know he was coming. We had a coupon of two hours and he fixed all that was requested in less time. With the time left he checked the electrical panel and fixed some things. We were impressed but the professionalism and honesty.

Dale was outstanding. Professional, informative, patient with my questions and he resolved all of my issues. We discussed things I would like Wilcox to do on the next visit. It was refreshing to get the sense that when we discussed pricing, he wasn't trying to up-sell me and get as much work/money out of us as he could. I trusted his assessment and appreciate his fair pricing.

For quite some time, I've had a intermittent problem with the electrical outlets connected to one of the breakers in my house. I finally called Wilcox Electric and easily scheduled an appointment for them to come out and look at the issue. On the day of the appointment, I got a call early in the day letting me know that the electrician, Steve S., would be able to come at an earlier time if that worked for me. That was fine for me, so he arrived earlier than scheduled. When Steve arrived, he took a look at the breaker box, as well as the electrical outlets on the circuit. Turns out the wiring in my electrical outlets were pretty burned out, and one in particular was likely the one that was causing much of the problem with the breaker tripping and halting the flow of electricity along the path. Steve S. was very friendly and professional and explained as he was working what the issues were, and also showed me the fried wiring inside my outlets. I went ahead and got all of the outlets changed out on the circuit, and also Steve replaced a bad light fixture in my kitchen to one that I had purchased myself. Overall, it was a very smooth and pleasant experience, and I think the cost of the work was reasonable considering the amount of time he spent troubleshooting and completing the work. I plan to schedule a future appointment to have my washing machine rewired to its own breaker, as well as to have an outside motion sensor light repaired/replaced. Will also recommend Wilcox Electric to people I know who need electrical work done.

Eddy Davis and his assistant Joseph thourouly examined numerous GFIs and found faulty one and replaced. Eddy explained at all times what he was doing and found the faulty GFI that had been causing the problem outdoors at the side of the house. They were super punctual and altogether very professional. I would ask them back should we have another issue with the electrical at our home.

The two electricians that Wilcox sent to do the work, Abdul and Nelson, were both excellent. They worked efficiently, dividing my multiple tasks between them, and kept me informed of everything that was happening. I contacted Wilcox after a bad experience with another company, and they were able to easily do the bathroom vent fan replacement that the other company's electrician had said was too difficult for him. They also installed an outlet under the sink in preparation for a garbage disposal, GFCI outlets in the bathroom and on the porch outdoors, and upgraded an existing kitchen outlet to GFCI. Based on this first experience, I will call Wilcox again any time I need electrical work.

The showed up on time, worked quickly, cleaned up after. Everything looks great.

Kevin quickly diagnosed the problems. He replaced the outlet and tightened the neutral wire that connected both of the porch lights to the switch. He was very pleasant to work with. I would readily hire Wilcox again based on our experience.

We are thrilled to have found Wilcox Electric! We will definitely be using their electrical services again. I initially called Wilcox to inquire about their service and Crystal was wonderful on the phone. They set up a time for Steve, the owner, to come and give an estimate. Steve showed up and seemed really knowledgable. Steve not only consulted on the electrical work itself, but also talked through the design he thought would make the most sense. You could tell that he had experience installing recessed lights and I felt comfortable having him come back to do the work. Richard is the main contact for the estimate and he was very kind. I had to call a couple times to get all the information that I wanted prior to starting, but I did finally get all my answers. Again, Crystal is wonderful at getting the right people to call you back when needed. The electrician, Andy, and apprentice, Gondo, were wonderful. They were very respectful of the space, laying down protection, and cleaning up the mess. They had no trouble installing the fixtures that we purchased (following strict recommendations of both Steve and the other office members on which ones to purchase). They did make a couple cuts in the dry wall that we will have to repair, but nothing major. (They were upfront from the beginning that they do not fix this. We were thrilled with how little repair we need to do!!) They finished early and we are thrilled with the work! A couple notes on the things you should know when working with Wilcox: - As previous Angie's list members mentioned, they have trouble sometimes with communicating with the customer. Wilcox actually lost our estimate originally and it took an email and a couple phone calls before they were able to send us an estimate. Again, Crystal is wonderful and makes sure stuff gets done. They were very apologetic for not sending us an estimate in a timely manner and we appreciate of their response; holding no grudge. We understand that sometimes the back office doesn't always communicate with the front office, but their amazing service makes up for this by far! - They have trouble navigating traffic in DC. Both times they came to our condo they underestimated the amount of time needed to travel to our condo. With this said, they are WONDERFUL about calling and letting you know they are in route and running late. Traffic happens and we all tend to run late in DC traffic so all I asked is that they call us and communicate this with us and they did! Overall, wonderful experience! We will happily use Wilcox again and have already recommended them to others. The only thing we tell them is that make sure you call them back if they have not emailed you the quote by the promised date.

Dave and Nelson were prompt and efficient in running through a list of problems including ceiling wiring, new outlets, upgrading outlets, assessing need for attic type fan (repair vs replace). Thorough with each question.

I am an out of state landlord with rental units in DC; Wilcox Electric was more than accommodating in helping me get this job scheduled. I basically authorized the visit; but the tenants actually called and scheduled appointment. Once the job was complete I contacted the office and submitted payment over the phone. The whole process allowed me to maintain my busy schedule but still get the much needed work completed. All this from a 2.5 hour visit. I was very pleased with the final bill. The electrician assigned to my project was Dale and he did an excellent job! This is according to one of the tenants and myself as well. After the work was completed he contacted me to inform me of what he found how he resolved the issue. He pointed out and corrected a code violation without all the gloom and doom talk. I am going to rehire Wilcox to replace faulty smoke detectors in the near future.

This was the first time we've retained Wilcox Electric to do work for us. The entire experience with Wilcox was excellent from initial scheduling call to completion of the work. The phone scheduler was professional and helpful. The Wilcox team ? Dave & Joseph ? arrived at our home exactly at the projected time. Dave and Joseph were very pleasant, accommodating, and thoroughly professional. They got immediately to work and efficiently completed the work we had requested. They left the area they had worked in immaculate and took all trash with them. Dave & Joseph earned an A+ in our book: they did an excellent job for us, and we?ll definitely call on Wilcox Electric again next time we need help from an electrician.

It was OK. They were supposed to get back to me about a proposal and they never did. There price was OK. They didn't go through the whole house, it was the electrical panel. I paid $210 and they were supposed to provide me with a proposal, they never did. It turned out to be expensive because, it was nothing but a conversation. There is a big question because, they didn't do anything. They said that they would get back to me and never did.

Was told that they do not service Silver Spring even though the Angie's List site says they do and their website says they service DC/MD. Annoyed.
