Wilcox Electric LLC

Wilcox did a nice job on my project located in northeast DC. I needed some new electrical wiring to be run from my attic onto the roof of my house. The job was successful and they came in under budget. I would recommend anyone looking for an electrician to consider Wilcox.

This is the second project that Wilcox has done at my home in northeast DC. They did a nice job. Good communication. And their price was very reasonable. They actually charged me for an amount less than the quoted amount which (in my experience) almost never happens with contractors. I would highly recommend Wilcox.

Wilcox is the definition of "you get what you pay for". They may not be the cheapest, but they are the best. My job was complicated (A Heavy Up in a 100+ year old townhouse). The old panel installed in the early 70s, but encased in cement and brick. Additionally, the electricians had to access the underground wiring via a small crawl space. They did a marvelous job.

Steve and team did a fantastic job on electrical service install for our pool house. This was a multi month, multiphase project due to inspection requirements. The Wilcox team patiently worked around the county schedule, and that of other subcontractors to bring the project to an excellent finish! Overall quality of work was very high.

Wilcox was recommended by a friend. I was thrilled that they were able to send an electrician out the next day. David was awesome! He brainstormed a great solution when the light fixture I wanted to install didn’t fit in the space I wanted. He also quickly troubleshooted and solved an issue with four outlets not working. He was friendly and polite, making my experience excellent!

Excellent overall experience. Steve was very helpful on the phone explaining potential solutions. Scheduling with his team was easy and they remained in touch with reminders and updates. Steve arrived promptly, evaluated the problem, and provided resolution quickly. They were super great to work with personable, practical, and fair. Would hire again.

Wilcox Electric has been my to go company for many years, and I set up an appointment to check three outlets in my home which had not been used in a long time. The technician, Dimas Moran, showed up promptly, and was a delight to work with. He explained everything, and any problems were fixed quickly. Like all of Wilcox`s technicians, he was very professional, and I was very happy with his work. I would like to add that customer service was, as usual, just wonderful. Thank you!

I have used Wilcox electric for the past 20 years. They re-wired my Capitol Hill house at that time. We have moved and our new”old” house needed to update the ceiling boxes in the ceiling to hang modern lights. Nelson arrived on time. I was late. He called and waited for me as I was 5 minutes away. They completed their work, cleaned up and my wife was pleased with their work

Great work by Nelson installing two pendant lights in our hallway, efficient and communicative and exactly what we asked for! We’ve used Wilcox for three jobs now and been happy every time.

At first, I was pleased by Wilcox Electric. They arrived promptly and diagnosed my blinking lights. Exterior meter box needed to be replaced, easy fix. They put me on the schedule for that week to do the repair for apx 2 hrs worth of labor charges + parts. Then I decided to call and inquire (just ASK) what a full heavy up might cost, "just to explore my options" I told them on the phone "if one day I decided to add more appliances or something". Within a couple hours they canceled my repair, stating they suddenly "...weren't comfortable working on an old service line and box". Then gave me an estimate to do a full heavy-up to 200 amps for $4300 !!!! So basically, they weren't comfortable taking $400, but would be comfortable taking $4k+. So I told them to go pound sand, then called another electrical company. Again, I asked this electrician to track down the issue. Same result that Wilcox had originally told me, "It's your meter box, easy fix". "I don't need a heavy-up, or service lines replaced?" I asked the second company's electrician. "No, you certainly don't need that. We fix electrical issues, not sell people things they don't need". One hour and a few bucks later, my power is working perfectly. Plus a 5 year warranty. Wish I had called the other company first, would have saved me time and money. Bottom line, call someone else. Anyone else. Do NOT trust Wilcox Electric. Totally dishonest.

Wonderful job by David to hook up our mini split. He got it done in less time than anticipated and was very professional!

Wilcox is a very reliable and efficient group. I have now worked with them 4 time. The first time, they dismantled lights that were moving with us to a new house- was very efficient and took care to make sure the lights were in good condition for travel. The second time, they made sure to send someone out to give us a quote for hanging new lights- which is great to make sure that no additional surprises will catch the unwary in extra bill amounts. And our 3rd and 4th time we had our security camera's installed- they did a great job as this is an old house with strange wiring and funny 3 way switches and they were patient and made sure that it all worked the way we wanted it to. To give credit where it is due, Nick did our dismantle, a different Nick and his apprentice rehung the lights, and Dale and his apprentice did the security camera and 3 way switches. Thank you Wilcox!

The electrician and helper were very couteous and professional. Work was completed in a timely, deliberate, and workman like manner and they were very respectful of our home. I will hire them again for any future work.

Dimas and Nick were fantastic! The original scope of work got changed a bit and I had a few additional things for them when they arrived. They were on time, professional, flexible. They even fixed a small item I didn't even ask them to do. Wouldn't hesitate to use Wilcox any time I had electrical needs.

Wilcox electric work is really great, this is my second time having work performed. David Settimi was my electrician, he was great at explaining the different options available for dimmer switchers and how to place the recessed lighting for maximum light and to look nice in an interior bedroom. Very polite, very knowledgable. David did a great job cleaning up after the job was over. He was fast while maintaining a high quality work product. It's hard to find good electricians in DC. A "handyman" quoted me a similar price as Wilcox, and I guarantee the handyman work would be no where near as professional as David.
