Several of these repairs and corrections were difficult because of access issues and because it is an old Capitol Hill row house that still has some older wiring and installations. Vale, the primary electrician, and his apprentice, Eric, were very creative in solving some of these problems in a cost effective way, and explained everything they did in detail. They also had to correct some earlier improper installations. They were here for a few hours working diligently so the cost was reasonable. We were very pleased with their professionalism and knowledge, and with the quality of the work.

Wilcox Electric was excellent in scheduling service on very short notice. David came for both the estimate and installation and was extremely courteous, professional, and a pleasure to work with. We were very pleased with his work and would highly recommend him and Wilcox Electric to anyone who needs electrical work.

Steve called to let me know when he would arrive. He was upbeat & professional about the parking and lack of elevator. I cannot speak highly enough of the work he did tidying up some older wiring while also removing a fixture and installing my new chandelier. He was extremely conscientious and thoughtful about getting the exact height I wanted and informative about how to protect the fixture during my upcoming renovations. The new lighting is fantastic. I look forward to dealing with Wilcox again. I am a picky, shy customer and I dont enjoy contractors in my apartment as a rule. As such I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Wilcox to anyone. The value for what I paid was certainly excellent. Bargain!

Dave and Rodney arrived on time, were friendly, professional and polite. They replaced the 4 halogen lights with Led recessed lights and installed one new LED recessed lights in a quick and efficient manner. In addition they replaced the 4 bulb halogen wtith a new customer provided 5 bulb light. I can most certainly recommend Dave and Rodney for your lighting requirements. Well done Dave and Rodney!

Dale was there 10 minutes before the expected time with all the necessary wiring and equipment. He worked diligently with his partner and they finished the job within the time that was proposed. They tidied up well afterwards. We are very pleased with their performance. We are looking forward to our new range which will need the extra power they installed.

On a holiday weekend, I inadvertently tripped several circuits in my house. Despite trying to reset them several times, I was left without power in my bedroom, bathroom, and parts of my kitchen and basement (including Internet and television!). I called Wilcox first thing on Tuesday and Emily was so helpful getting someone to come out the next day. Initially, she was not going to be able to find me a technician and actually sounded disappointed that she could not not help me. Miraculously, however, a space opened up and David came by the next day. He was on time, thorough, yet efficient. He checked all key circuits and plugs, explaining what went wrong in clear terms. He was also able to fix two frustrating (for me) lighting issues--one in the kitchen and one in the living room. He made suggestions on how to proceed and assured me that Wilcox could help me replace the lighting. I also asked him about a future project I had planned and he made helpful suggestions on what to expect with the electrical wiring. He was friendly, professional, and like Emily, seemed happy to have helped me. The price was reasonable as well. By the time David left, I was relieved to have these issues fixed at last. Finding great work combined with excellent customer service is, unfortunately, quite challenging these days. Thankfully, Wilcox Electrical does both and I will continue to use them in the future.

I have used several electrical contractors over the years and Wilcox has been by far the best. Every aspect of the experience has been positive. They are genuinely nice people. Everyone I spoke with was knowledgeable and focused on providing the best service at a fair price. My technician (Steve Smith) not only arrived as scheduled, but was a skilled electrician, friendly, efficient, and respectful of my property. I highly recommend Wilcox Electric.

As long as I live in the DC area I will not use anyone but Wilcox Electric. They are responsive, even on weekends, returning text messages and phone calls promptly. Their electricians are extremely professional and... nice. My electrician, David, explained to me everything he was doing to find a "short" in my electrical system (due to water damage from a leaky roof.) So he not only fixed the problem, but he taught me about the electrical system in my house and most importantly, he made sure my young daughter and I were safe, to the point of calling Steve Wilcox (owner) and talking him through the work and confirming (on a Saturday.) I highly highly recommend Wilcox, and David is great!

WIlcox electric wired a renovation project and installed a new 200 amp panel at my home in SE DC. Their men were meticulous in their work, they followed up to make sure that the inspector was there on time and that their work passed inspection. They even came back to make sure a new code was adhered to a year later just to make sure that the new buyer would satisfied. Steve Wilcox, the president of the company was incredibly easy to contact when we needed him and went above and beyond to make sure were were happy clients. Thank you WILCOX ELECTRIC for a job well done.

Spoke with owner Steve Wilcox on an emergency basis rainy Sunday afternoon about about a dead kitchen circuit that included the refrigerator. He offered to get somebody out that day, but I opted to wait until Monday. First thing the next morning, Pat from Wilcox Electric showed up ready willing and able. Within about 20 minutes, he diagnosed and fixed the problem, replacing a shorted-out outdoor receptacle that was the cause of the blown circuit. The service was fast, friendly, professional and well-priced. I will call Wilcox Electric and be happy to have Pat here any time I need professional help with house electrics.

David and Pat did excellent work for us. They were on time, called ahead, explained what they would do, looked for and identified pre-existing issues and problems...overall very thorough, very professional and very competent. We would hire Wilcox again any time, based on the great jobs done by Pat and David.

The guy arrived on time, was very courteous and professional and quickly fixed the switch. He also investigated the wire problem but said that he would have to make holes in the ceiling and that I would have to get a drywall person to clean it up. I did not want to damage the ceiling to get the wire fixed. All in all they were great. the price was reasonable, not great but not a ripoff.

How did it go? It went extremely well. Power went out on a Sunday, I called the emergency contact number and spoke to Mr. Wilcox directly, who determined that the first issue to address was whether this was a PEPCO problem or something inside the house. He had me call PEPCO, who sent someone within an hour, who found a neutral wire in my meter that needed to be replaced. Which they did, and the power came back on. Mr Wilcox actually called me back that same day to see how things were, at that point all was good. But the power went out again. By the time Eddie from Wilcox came in and checked everything, the power had come back on, so he couldn't find the issue. But left me with instructions to take note each time of what was turned on before the lights would blink and subsequent power outage. Well, after a day or so, the power did go out and would not come back on. Eddie came back and found the issue in the breaker box and fixed it. Mr. Wilcox and Eddie where so helpful and professional through all of my lamentations that I'm writing this review to let them know how much their kindness and attention was very calming and greatly appreciated.

Bill came to assess the job. He was friendly truthful and clearly understood what I wanted. He provide suggestions based on my needs. A cost was provided and we set a time and date for his team to come in a do the job. The team was knowledgable about design and the electrical trade and could reiterate my needs with some improvements. They were on time and completed the work in a timely manner. The work was clean and professionally completed.

Great service, very professional and respectful. David and Jonathan were the electricians on site and they did a great job. All work was performed as expected and passed inspection the same day. They maintained a clean worksite. Josh was very helpful organizing everything from the office. I highly recommend the team at Wilcox Electric.

The electrician was on time, diagnosed the problem and repaired it. It required him entering part of my attic to get to a junction box where the problem was.

Great work by Steve Smith! In fact, everything from initial call to schedule appointment was a breeze. Everyone was courteous and professional. Steve also took the time to recommend the correct type of lightbulbs for the new fixture and explained what to do if led bulbs flicker on the existing dimmer. He had the old chandelier down and new light up in no time at all! Thank you!

I want to thank Dale Debley with Wilcox electric for doing an excellent job. It turned out to be more difficult than we realized and required some parts that he didn't have, so he came back for a second visit. He was reliable and professional in his dealings with us, and the outcome was just what we needed. Priya in the office was also efficient and responsive.

They called several times prior to the originally scheduled time and date when they had openings come up in case I was available at that time, so I felt like I was being valued as a customer. The day before, they called to confirm the arrival window, and the day of I received a call from the electrician a few minutes before he arrived to ensure it was still a good time. Their level of contact was stellar. The serviceman came in and immediately introduced himself though I was distracted by a work call. He went through exactly what he would need to do to check the breaker and made sure that since it would require turning off all electricity it wouldn't interfere with my work. I appreciated that thoughtfulness. As soon as he discovered the problem, he came up to explain it to me and then replaced the bad breaker. He then added dimmers to my upstairs lights because I had been unable to find three-way dimmers in the store. He checked everything in front of me, explained what I should do if the breaker tripped again and even cleaned up some of the drywall that had fallen to the floor as he was working. I have never known a contractor to clean up such a small mess. I will definitely use them again.

The project went well. The crew arrived at 830am and completed the heavy-up approx at 330pm. For the wiring, this was more complicated. The crew took 1.5 days and completed the task. Steve (the owner) was fairly spot on with the estimate and the firm gave me a payment plan for this extensive work.

Great experience with Wilcox electric! We bought a new house recently and have grand plans to create a workshop in our basement, among other improvements. We called Wilcox after I saw they were highly recommended on our neighborhood message board. David came out and gave us a comprehensive estimate for our long wish list of items. We decided to move forward with upgrading our electrical panel and wiring our garage. We were able to schedule the work quickly and easily. David came back out on two consecutive days and with help from Jonathan and Dimas, completed the jobs quickly and efficiently and even under the estimated cost. Payment was easy and every interaction very professional. We will gladly go back to Wilcox when we are ready to tackle the rest of our wish list!

Nelson and Rodney did a great job! Installation, rewiring, and troubleshooting was done in around a day and a half. They worked quickly and efficiently. I was kept up to date on progress and was consulted with prior to each project. I believe we ended up with 9 projects. I have included pictures from some of projects. They also provided parts that were missing from my antique store purchases. Very happy with service and helpfulness of the whole staff.
