Wilcox Electric LLC

We had two outlets moved and four new pendant lights installed. The project was complicated by the fact that we needed to have four new junction boxes installed before the lights could be installed (with third-party drywall work done between two of the visits). Given the spacing of our floor joists and air duct, this required some creative problem solving by Dale (our lead electrician) to ensure the lights were spaced evenly. The project ended up taking three visits and we are very pleased with the final product. The front office was very easy to work with in getting the various visits scheduled. I primarily dealt with Emily and she was terrific. Dale was our lead electrician was onsite for each of the three visits and was excellent to work with. Jermaine was an apprentice electrician that was onsite for two of the three visits and he also did a great job. This is my second time using Wilcox and I plan to use them in the future for any additional electrical work. The estimates they provided were fair and accurate, the work was of a high-quality, the team was very punctual (arriving on the early side of the window), and they were very courteous and down-to-earth.

Dale and Jeremiah were both very professional and performed the work quickly and efficiently. I will absolutely use Wilcox Electric again.

FANTASTIC service. When I explained that I needed the repair in order to pass an inspection to rent the unit, the office staff juggled some schedules around to meet my time frame. Eddie Davis had a cancellation and called to see if he could come early, which worked well for me. Plus he worked speedily and found a quicker, less expensive resolution than another company had quoted me! I will definitely be a repeat customer.

Wilcox Electric was great--I'm very happy with the quality of the work as well as the overall service provided. Abdul and Jonathan replaced my outdoor service line and electrical panels. It was a big job, taking place over three days, and they were consistently kind and helpful, answering all my questions and coordinating with my schedule. Abdul went above and beyond to help us rescue our very skittish cat who decided to hide on top of a panel among the wires! Josh later came to accompany the county inspector and also kindly helped me with another electrical issue which turned out to be unrelated to the work. I highly recommend the company.

Our electrician, David, was courteous and efficient. He installed smart switches in our 80 year old house and now we can turn our lights on and off from anywhere in the house (or in the world!). When a slight glitch surfaced, it was taken care of with aplomb. Rich Shumway was great at coordinating the installation. Thanks to all for a job well done. Highly recommended.

David and his apprentice did a spectacular job with installing the camera and installing and repair GFCI receptacles and electrical outlets. They arrived early and were extremely professional in their approach. They were also very efficient, finishing in less time than allocated. They also cleaned up very well. I highly recommend Wilcox Electric and will use them again in the future for any other matters.

Dale and apprentice Steve arrived at the house promptly. The three projects were done with care. They replaced old wiring where necessary. Each man explained everything they were doing and asked if I had any questions. The work space was left very clean. Both were very polite and pleasant to work with.

Eddie and Jonathan did a great job. Estimate was free and the final cost was below what was estimated. They worked all day, did high quality work and cleaned up after they were done. Would definitely recommend and will hire again if needed.

Contacted Wilcox thru Angie's List on 8/17 and an appointment was setup for an estimate on 8/19. Estimator arrived during the 2-hr time window, calling prior to arrival which was appreciated. He did not come prepared however to properly do an estimate. He had nothing to write on (no pen or paper) and he had no tape measure. I provided a pen and he wrote on the paper I gave him outlining the work I needed done. The project included running electrical from my house, outside and to a garage that is being built, adding a sub panel and adding all the electrical in the garage. Upon completion of the walk thru he told me he would write up everything that evening and provide it to the office and he said they would send it to me on 8/20. I waited until 8/22 and sent a follow-up email requesting the timeline for getting the estimate. No response was ever received. Today has been 10 days since the walk thru estimate. I would not recommend this company.

Gando and his apprentices Stephen and Eric came early to the job. He and his staff were very professional. They explain the scope of the work very well and began the work very quickly. After they completed the work the cleaned up the basement area very well ever better than they found. The provided outstanding customer service.

Based on our experience, I would highly recommend Wilcox Electric - everyone we worked with at the company has been friendly, approachable, and completely receptive to our needs. Dale Debley, the electrician sent by Wilcox, was wonderful- very knowledgeable and skilled, took the time time to explain everything he was looking for and doing to me, and was super personable and friendly. Because of some funky wiring, we went on quite the hunt to dtermine what was tripping up the outdoor outlets, and because of Dale's attention to detail, he was able to find some faulty wiring in a seemingly unrelated outlet that was linked in and get things working again while updating the wiring. The Nest hello doorbell installation was quick and painless, despite having to drill through brick and hook to an inside outlet. We had a great experience with Wilcox Electric and will be using them for future electrical work!

I seldom feel a job goes better than I expect, but this one did. The job went better than I expected. First, Steve Smith, the electrician Wilcox Electric sent to do the work, called and asked if he could come a little earlier than scheduled because he had finished the previous job sooner than expected. I thought that was considerate and I accepted the earlier arrival time. The first outdoor light fixture that needed to be repaired was not seated properly so it dangled above the door. It could fall on someone's head if it wasn't fixed. He had to even out the surface above the door frame in order to remount the light fixture. This seemed to be outside an electrician's area of expertise, but he took it on in good stride and did a great job. After successfully mounting the fixture, he tested the motion detector bulb. It no longer worked and told me the best kind of bulb to replace it with. He even took out the spider webs from inside the light fixture. The second outdoor light fixture was not working at all. Once he removed it and tested it, he found the fixture to be deteriorated beyond repair. While he took his lunch, I went to the hardware store to buy a new light fixture, and a new motion detector bulb. As soon as I returned with the new fixture, he installed it, and it works like a charm. He also did some troubleshooting for some light switches and a troublesome dining room chandelier. We discussed what repairs were needed in the future. Steve was efficient, patient, neat, detailed, and courteous. I could not have hoped for a better experience. I would definitely use Wilcox Electric in the future. Thank you Wilcox Electric!

It went better than I expected. I contacted Wilcox at 745am in the morning with what I considered an emergency because my attic fan was malfunctioning and making an awful noise. Lauren, who took my call, stated she would contact the technicians to see who she could get to assist me. Technician David, was able to come around 230pm. David was reluctant to go up in an attic with the temps being over 80 degrees, however, when he arrived, I found him to be the most pleasant person. He went up in the attic to see what he needed to do. He went out to his truck to get some equipment and returned with a cover to put down on my hardwood floor to protect it from scratches from the attic stairs and to catch any debris from the insulation that on the attic floor. He explained to me exactly what he did to disconnect the fan and explained that another fan could be connected on the same thermostat. I asked him questions about installing a ceiling light or sconce lights in my living room and he graciously explained in full detail as to how he would do it. He was happy to answer any questions that I had. I would like to thank Lauren and David for helping me. I was a never wreck but they definitely calmed my nerves, I couldn't go another day with that fan making that awful noise.

I had a great experience with Wilcox Electric. They replaced my circuit box, a baseboard heater, and my fire alarms. They also added new GCFI outlets and rewired my water heater. Throughout the entire experience, they patiently answered my many, many questions. I couldn’t be happier with their service.

My husband and I recently purchased a 1912 house in DC which needed some electrical work. We reached out to Wilcox Electric to perform an electrical assessment of our home as well as to request some additional work. We had some damaged outlets/switches, needed to add additional outlets, and wanted to run a line from the electric panel to the back of the house where we are installing an A/C condenser. Based on our experience, I would highly recommend Wilcox Electric - everyone we worked with at the company has been friendly, approachable, and completely receptive to our needs/changing ideas. Dale was the electrician that came out to our house for an electrical assessment and the lead electrician for the work that was completed at our home. Dale is such a friendly guy, and was so helpful! During the assessment, instead of breezing through, he took time to make sure I understood all of the terminology and recommendations he was making. Emily helped me develop a quote for the work and was my point of contact for my numerous questions and changes to the scope of work. She was extremely helpful getting answers to all our questions, and was very pleasant to work with throughout the entire process. Dale and Stephen came out to our house to complete the repairs and to add outlets/run the line for the A/C and did a fantastic job! Dale called me to seek any needed clarification and also followed up after the work was completed to give me a summary of everything that had been completed. Dale was so attentive to detail, and shared additional thoughts and feedback about our electric. We had a great experience with Wilcox Electric and will be using them for future electrical work!

It went excellently. Eddie came and fixed it within an hour. I found this impressive because he fixed it even though I did not have all the information he needed. He is very positive and competent. I would recommend Wilcox Electronics and Eddie to anyone who needs this repair.

Great! My first troubleshooting and estimate visit was with Gando - he gave me some great ideas on things I could resolve myself, and also took a look at an outdoor outlet that has been problematic. He was very professional, on time, and overall gave me an excellent experience. I had the outdoor outlet fixed on my second visit, and again received great service from Abdel. He called before arriving, got right to work, and was very efficient in completing the work. Once it was complete, he showed me the completed work and answered my questions. The outlet was replaced and expanded (from two plugs to four plugs), and waterproofed.

I already had the Nest Protect up, it was just connected to the wrong wires. I was still charged $100, for the correction. I thought that was a bit steep considering it took about 30 mins total. And I was told it was a discounted rate.

I have used the team at Wilcox for years and keep coming back. They are always courteous and really want to form an ongoing relationship. Despite their crammed schedule, they always seem able to fit me in and communicate if something gets in the way of arriving on time. They have done projects big and small for me and will remain my electrician of choice going forward.

David and his helper, Steven did a fantastic job installing our new wall ovens. They arrived on time, set immediately to work, hooked up the (very heavy) double oven, and moved it into place in the cabinet. The price for the work was very reasonable and they worked quickly and efficiently. They also left the work area cleaner than they found it. David and the Wilcox team have completed multiple large and small jobs in my 1930s-era home over the past 4 years. I have been consistently impressed with their professionalism and expertise. Anytime I need electrical services, I know EXACTLY who to call!

This is the second time we have worked with Wilcox and they did a fantastic job. They corrected a circuit on our breaker box, wired new outlets, overhead lights, and switches to our sun-porch conversion and new closet. Emily and Chris in their office were extremely helpful and professional, Emily worked with us and their electrician David to ensure the project was completed efficiently and within our budget. David and his apprentice Dimas completed the work quickly and were extremely professional. Wilcox handled the full process for us with Emily as a great main point of contact, David completing the estimate, Chris gathering permits and helping with inspections, and David and Dimas completing the work. Everyone worked well as a team to ensure our needs were met as a client. Based on our experience with them we would recommend them to anyone looking for a great customer service experience, a top quality job, and a fair price.

Steve Smith did a great job. We didn't know if the current light could be fixed or replaced. We had a replacement available. Mr. Smith figured out how to fix the current light and saved us a bundle 'cause we can return the replacement. A simple solution done quickly and efficiently. We will always ask for Mr. Smith for any future electrical work.

Steve Smith was on time, professional, and personable. He identified an additional GFI outlet that needed work in order for the reiplacement outlet to work properly.

Each of Abdel, Dale and Gando came on separate visits and all were very professional and efficient. They kept us apprised of the status of each project as they completed the work and also offered helpful suggestions for future projects. Would work with any of these guys again.
