The inspector arrived on time and was very nice. I promptly received a report, which I thought was thorough. However, after moving into the house, I discovered that there was a rodent problem, a leaking bath tub, and a leaking faucet. I would not use Highland Inspection again.

Fantastic! We've had three home inspection companies and Highland Home is BY FAR the most thorough! These people check more than any one else I've used or know of. I certainly would never use anyone other than them from now on. In addition to thoroughness, our rep, JD, was very professional. It's a tense time, checking to see if the house you love is really worth buying, and JD made the process very pleasant. He was polite, friendly and straight forward, even when he located real problems! After nearly 4 hours of climbing in the attic, peering under the deck, opening and closing every window and door, and running every piece of equipment, the next day we got a 60+ page report with color photos of all that was needed. We felt thoroughly prepared to move forward with our purchase and confident that we got excellent service.

We can compare this inspection to one we had several years ago. Highland Home surpasses in every aspect. In particular they were incredibly thorough and our inspector (Dan Flynn) went out of his way to point out findings and explain items to us. The report was available within a day and the detail within it was expansive. When we had a few follow up questions for Dan he rapidly returned emails and was always helpful. We paid a bit more for this inspection than our previous one but the value we gained was multiples of a cut-rate job. Highland Homes is worth every penny. Highly recommended without any reservations.

The inspector (Jamie) was very professional, informative, detail oriented and friendly. He used the appropriate tools to inspect as required (digital sensory technology). The report was professional and thorough with easy to understand pictures, illustrations and recommendations.

Our inspector, Barry, went above and beyond to make an otherwise stressful situation very informative. I appreciate that he showed us the issues, potential solutions, and encouraged us to walk the property alongside him and ask questions. We received a detailed report following the inspection, allowing us to reflect on what was discovered during our walk through before making the decision to move forward with purchasing the home. Prior to and following the inspection, Highland Home Inspections did an excellent job keeping us informed of what to expect during the process and their responsiveness goes unmatched in the industry. I know I have found a new home inspection company for future home purchases!

I'd previously used Highland for a home inspection before buying a house, and they were great then too, but I forgot to write a review at that time. I just used them again for a radon test and it couldn't have been better. I prefer email communications to phone calls and that doesn't always work well for every services provider, but Highland was highly responsive. I had a same day appointment within a couple hours of my first email inquiring about radon testing. Everything was quick, everyone was courteous and competent. My test shows I do need some abatement, so I'm glad to have learned that. Thanks Highland!

Rick has always been incredible and we've used Highland a few times now. He's Prompt. He's extremely thorough. He's honest. I'll never buy another home in the area without Rick checking it out first.

JD arrived before we even got there and inspected the roof for us. He then showed us pictures on his tablet of the condition of the roof giving us an estimate of how old he thought the shingles were since the previous owner did not know. He was very patient while we dealt with our 6 week old and continued to inspect the the basement until we were ready to join him. Once we were ready he showed showed us everything that he found and explained some of the issues that he saw. I explained that I had no idea how to maintain an HVAC and water heater and JD took the time to explain all the bells and whistles for us. He ran all the appliances and checked the drainage in all the sinks. He opened and checked out all the doors and windows, went up into the attic and checked the wood supports and invited me up to see for myself what he was talking about. There was more things he inspected but I can't remember all of them. He took pictures of every issue that he encountered, minor or not and we received an email the next morning with these pictures and a description of what he talked about. Overall, JD was very pleasant to talk to and did a great job explaining things to a new homeowner who knows nothing about taking care of a home. Very appreciated!

Dave showed up early and inspected the exterior prior to our arrival then walked us through everything, pointing out what to do for routine maintenance. He was very friendly and professional and took his time to explain everything. We HIGHLY recommend them.

Rick was amazing!!! As first time homebuyers we didn't really know much. Rick explained everything to us--- what he was looking at and for, what was good and what was bad. Extremely thorough, knowledgable and trusted.

Dave was wonderful to work with. He preformed the inspection with us following along as he explained everything he saw. One word: outstanding! Dan is a true professional and was available to discuss the report on a Saturday night. Our realtor was impressed with his work and noted he was already working on the house by the time she arrived. He is truly committed and helped us a lot in reviewing all the details, from the smallest to the largest! Since we couldn't be there, he noted every detail and went over each item that we raised over the phone with great detail and helpful tips. This is the second time we used Highland Home Inspections and we would use them again!

Dave was great from start to finish. He explained everything very clearly, and was very thorough. He encouraged me to follow him through the house as he inspected it, and was always asking if I had any questions. He was very professional, and the written report (minus radon, which needs 48 hours to run), complete with pictures of problem areas, was e-mailed to me less than 3 hours after he finished the inspection!

Dan Doyle was the inspector on duty that day. He was a little late due to the casino construction/ traffic but it didn't bother me. It's understandable. Dan was energetic and a pleasure to work with. He showed me everything around the house and took his time to explain things. I'm a first time home buyer so extra time was taken to explain things he was seeing. It was a smooth process and I felt comfortable. I would use again if needed.

Rick from Highland Home Inspections was very thorough and forthcoming with his findings during our home inspection. Being a first time home buyer I wasn't exactly sure what to expect from an inspector so I brought my Grandfather to translate any of the findings. Fortunately for me, my Grandfather barely said a word because Rick provided so much information in a manner that anyone could understand. Rick let me know what types of things need to be taken care of right away as well as the type of things I should maintain myself in the years to come. I feel extremely confident that the house has been adequately inspected by someone who really knows what they're doing. I would definitely recommend Rick to anyone needing a home inspection, especially first time buyers who really want to know what is going on with their home-to-be.
