I don't remember exactly what the quote was, but it was very reasonable. They had very good recommendations. We probably would have gone with them. They were professional. They came out and gave me an honest estimate which was very reasonable. The only reason I didn't go with them was because I decided to go with another company.

This was our first move in 52 years. We choose 3 moving companies associated with nation wide movers from Angie's list and got estimates. We signed a contract with Von Paris and United for a move from Kensington, Maryland to Fort Worth, Texas. We were to be packed on September 15, loaded on the 16th and delivered to Fort Worth Texas on September 21st to 23rd. The estimate was low and the driver did not have room on his truck for all off our things and left about 1/4 of them at the house. Von Paris sent out a truck with two men who were office movers. They did not have the equipment or blankets to load our furniture correctly. We were told the next morning that our things were in storage in Maryland. The first load arrived on September 21. We received many answers to our calls about the rest, including being told that it was on a truck multiple times. We tried United Customer service and at least they returned calls. Finally we reached someone who watched the data on United's site change repeatedly and were told they had put an incentive on it. The 2nd load arrived in Fort Worth on October 20th. We were not satisfied with this move. and would never recommend Von Paris.

The packers and movers were excellent. They have many years of experience and are thoroughly professional. The sales process and the financial side left much to be desired. There was a purported mathematical error in the quote which substantially increased the cost of the moving component once corrected. The final invoice included a $600-700 error (in their favor) in the packing component. In short, review your quote endlessly. Ask questions by e-mail to be sure there is a paper trail with responses. Review your final invoice with great care. (Ask for it early and budget an hour to review it.) Don't let any sloppyness in invoicing leave a bad taste in your mouth. If you make that extra effort, you can count on the packers and movers to do a nice job.

The preliminary assessment and contacts I had with the Von Paris representative, Diana, were all pleasant and cooperative. The driver and his assistant were affiliates of United Van Lines, under the auspices of Von Paris Moving. They were great to work with, in spite of a day's delay due to traffic enroute from the New York area on the way. They helped me to tape up the boxes I had not sealed, and were helpful getting things out of difficult places like the attic and basement. My biggest concern was my grand piano and an upright piano. Both were loaded and delivered without any damage. They did bring the proper moving platforms and remove the legs and damper petals properly. My other concern was whether the truck could navigate the long gravel driveway at the country property destination without off loading onto a smaller vehicle. They were able to get the truck all the way to the house and back it up within a short distance, so I was relieved. The other difficulty was getting the grand piano up two flights of stairs to the place I wanted it. It was touch and go with 2 extra helpers, but they managed to get it in place and amazingly still in reasonable tune. They arrived at 8 am and finished by 4 pm, even delivering the upright piano and a desk to the house next door. I was pleased that it went smoothly, although all moves like this are stressful! I would certainly recommend the company and the driver, James, as well as his assistant John to anyone for an interstate move.

They did an excellent job. Nothing was broken. Very courteous service.

They were on time both loading and unloading. They were professional and worked in timely fashion. The estimate stayed the same as quoted with no surprises. Everything was moved in perfect condition and we have no complaints.

Overall, I had a very positive experience with the exception of one thing. I was promised that there would be 3-4 people moving me out on the decided day but there were only two that showed up which obviously made the day much longer. The two workers who came were excellent but I was promised 3-4 and only received two. That's my only complaint.

At first I thought it went okay, but then I realized my law books boxes (labeled basement) were in my son's 2nd floor room. Also, they squeezed all the wardrobe boxes into our walk-in closet, making them impossible to access. The worst part was the crib that they assembled fell down on my infant while she was sleeping ten days later at 10 p.m. at night. My husband had to care for a screaming cranky and scared infant WHILE reassembling the bed that fell on her until midnight. I wasn't there to help him, so he was on his own. I called Von Paris to tell them what happened with the crib, and they never returned my call. Also, they make you fill out a survey about your experience that only asks questions about the crew's appearance and politeness, not whether they put the right boxes in the right rooms, scratched the walls, assembled things properly, worked efficiently, etc.

Everything went fine. We had a reasonably good experience and there were no major issues. There were a couple little nicks on the floor and furniture, but nothing major or unexpected. They took very good care of our things and were very responsible.

I liked that they even used protective flooring, so they did not mess up the carpeting. The two ladies that packed everything for me were excellent. I don t think that the rates were cheap, but they were well worth my money. I highly recommend using them. They were even very careful with my antiques.

Top guy Rocky Conklin came over to count up all of our furniture, and came up with a very accurate estimate of cost. He thought of things that I hadn't, like the outdoor grill, etc. Overall price was excellent (but February is a slow season for moving). Four male workers were very nice, and worked very hard without complaining (cold day). Unfortunately they knocked a banister off the wall while moving up our spare fridge, but the company fixed it up right away. They also repainted the walls of the same stairs that were scuffed, and all the repairs were done quickly and perfectly, and with no arguing with the company.

After receiving 3 promotional postcards from this company, I called them and left a message to request that someone come out to our house to give us an estimate for an upcoming move. Nobody from the company ever called me back. What's the point of sending out promotional postcards if they never bother to call back?!

Went really smoothly. Dave Brown was moving coordinator. He even called us a few days before move to ask if everything was ok, and if we were ready to move. The guys took care of our stuff, and were very careful. What's most impressive is their honesty. We paid by the hour. They worked quickly and efficiently, and finished in less time that they thought they would. Total charge was less than we thought.

Estimate/pre-move: The agent returned our initial call quickly, and made arrangements to come out to our home for an estimate the next day. He gave useful advice for packing (since we were doing that ourselves). The written estimate was clear. My only complaint about this part of the process is that the agent didn't offer us a Binding/Not to Exceed estimate option. But, once we informed the agent that we had received this type of estimate from another company, the agent was willing to provide it to us. (This type of estimate means that the actual charges for the weight of your shipment won't exceed the estimate they provide.) Move itself: The driver/team leader was very experienced and courteous. The crew seemed less experienced, but took good care of our belongings. Nothing was broken, but one or two items were slightly scratched. The crew significantly underestimated the time it would take to load, at first saying approx. 7 hrs, when in fact it took 13. Overall, score A-

A salesman came to our home to do a detailed inventory and make an estimate. He was very professional and efficient. The coordinator/scheduler was grouchy and couldn't provide specific times for the complicated moves until the day before. Although we had provided the cubic footage of the stored items, the truck sent was too small to carry it in one load, entailing a second trip, costing us extra time charges. Both teams were on time, careful, polite, and professional. They put down floor protection and wrapped doors and banisters in blankets, carefully reassembled beds and dressers with mirrors, and even offered good advice on arranging rooms in the new house. The final cost of the move was very close to the estimate, despite the extra trip to and from the storage facility, and the final cost was still half that of a previous, smaller move. Overall ,this was a very, very positive experience. This company was head and shoulders above the many other movers I have used in the past.

THIS COMPANY WAS EXCELLENT. EVERYTHING WENT PERFECT: THEY STAYED WITHIN THE ESTIMATE, THE WORK WAS COMPLETED WITHIN THE TIME FRAME, AND THEY RESPONDED RIGHT AWAY WHEN WE CALLED.

VON PARIS WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL IN THE MOVE. THEY WORKED HARD AND WERE VERY RESPONSIVE TO ANY ADDITIONAL REQUESTS WE HAD. THEY COMPLETED THE MOVE IN A VERY TIMELY MANNER AND VERY PROFESSIONAL. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO A FRIEND.
