This was our fourth move with Von Paris. Once again, it was just a fantastic experience from start to finish. Preplanning was excellent and detailed, including prepping our home to prevent any damage from moving heavy items. The team was conscientious, dedicated and eager to please at every turn. They cared for our belonging and our home as if they were their own. The packing and moving was exceptional, without a scratch, dent or break anywhere, including delicate china and crystal. The pricing for both moving and storage was fair and reasonable. They are consummate professionals. It was a pleasure to work with Von Paris and we will certainly use them again.

After getting estimates from 5 different moving companies, I decided to go with Von Paris for our move from a single-family home in Maryland to a townhouse in Pennsylvania. The combination of reasonable pricing, excellent customer service, and professional movers was perfect for the job. They did an excellent job. We did all of our own packing, but nothing was broken or damaged during the move. They arrived on time to pick up everything, worked quickly and neatly, and delivered everything on time as well. They took great care with our furniture. I recommend them highly.

I liked that they are very responsive, they did a good job moving, protecting, storing, and unloading the furnishing. I disliked their speed. It was supposed to be a 3 hour move. It ended up being a 5 hour move. The cost was pretty competitive. Some of the furniture did not get fully assembled. They could meet the projected schedule to be better.

With all of the nightmares you hear about interstate moves we were expecting the worse. We were very pleasantly surprised that everything went perfectly from the first contact by the salesperson who came to the house to the final delivery. They were on time picking up our furniture, on time on the delivery and not on single item was damaged. As good as all that seems, the weight came in below the estimate and they reduced my price by $600 even though the original quote was $2,000 below the other four quotes I revived.. I would recommend this mover very highly.

The entire staff was extremely professional and friendly. They made a difficult move, very simple and effortless from my point of view and would recommend their services to anyone with a move coming up!

My experience with Von Paris Moving & Storage was very enjoyable and I would use them for any future large moves. My family has a lot of large furniture like beds, dressers, tables and couches and the moving crew handled everything with extreme care. They protected all the furniture throughout the move whether it was fragile or not. I'm happy to say that all my furniture was not damaged or "knicked" during the move. I also had to run out of the house to the bank for a brief moment and the moving crew was able to continue moving without anyone at the home. I trusted their crew to be responsible and continue packing the items without me being home which speaks volumes. Another convenient part of the move was they were very punctual . The manager on the phone said they would be at my house at 9am. It wasn't a second past 9am before I heard them knocking on my door. They also moved very quickly when completing the moving process. Whether it was moving out of my house or into my new one, the men worked with a fast pace but were still careful. Lastly, I shopped around before hiring Von Paris Moving and their rates were very affordable for what I was asking. I would pay the same thing and maybe more for a future move because I know the quality I would be getting. I am happy to write about my moving experience and about the quality of work performed by Von Paris Moving & Storage.

Horribly wrong! The estimator spent a great deal of time reassuring me that they knew how to handle fragile antiques and even got down on his hands and knees under my dining room table to inspect it. He said that they would be able to specially pack my table so that it would be protected. But after it was delivered and the movers were setting it up they left the table leaning on the sides of the leg assembly and it fractured. I placed a claim with the company and was told that they would not cover more than 50% of the repair because the piece was fragile before it was moved. WELL YES, THAT IS WHAT THEY SAID THEY COULD HANDLE and why I hired them in the first place. In addition, they gave me a delivery date in Ohio of 24 to 48 hours after pick up. The move was delayed due to a snow storm. However on the day that they were supposed to arrive I waited for several hours in an empty house with out hearing anything from them. When I finally called the company they did not know where their truck or driver was. The driver called me a few hours later to let me know that he was still in Baltimore (more than 6 hours away). They had had my furniture for 4 days at that time. 10 hours later they finally arrived and had to unload the van all night. They did not leave until 1:30 am on the day after they were supposed to deliver. In the process they not only left behind a damaged antique table but almost every piece of furniture was scratched. It took 3 weeks for them to send a repair service out to do an estimate on the repairs. A day later I got a letter saying that they would only pay half of the damages because the piece was too fragile to move.

Arrangements were made in June 2014 for Von Paris Moving to pick up our pbo household goods on 11 August 2014. The last contract that I signed was dated 06/30/2014. I received a confirmatory e-mail on 07/02/2014. This is an indisputable fact: After that date, our intact email, telephone voice and text records show no communication from Von Paris Enterprises until three and one-half days (1-1/2 business days) before the move (telephone on 08/07/2014 at 12:02 pm) when they reneged on the move date and wanted to reschedule us from 08/11 to 08/14. This was an indefensibly tardy and inconsiderate decision on the part of Von Paris and a source of considerable inconvenience. We had already made hotel reservations ? some of them prepaid and nonrefundable ? for our 1900 mile trip and needed to pay three days? extra rent to hold our packed goods in our home. They paid for our extra rent. My wife and I were required to keep our reservations. As a result, Von Paris movers packed up two locations, our home and our storage room, without supervision. This also necessitated storing at and loading from their warehouse. This is an allegation: We supervised the unloading of the van at our destination and accounted for every box on the bill of lading. It was only later that I discovered that I was missing one of my espresso machines (I am a coffee hobbyist). I contend that the missing box was either lost before loading or mishandled during their possession of it for several days. It was accurately labeled with several labels that said, ?La Pavoni?, which is a specialty espresso machine from Italy which could have made it a target for theft.

They were perfect! They were very cooperative and they uncovered a lot of things that my mother and in law was looking for. They provided a very reasonable price for what had to be moved.

This is the second time I have used Von Paris. I highly recommend the company. Their estimates are right on. The movers work very hard and are professional.

We used Von Paris to pack, store and move our household a few years ago and was very impressed by their process and employees. So we only contacted them when the need arose recently to have move items again. From the initial contact to the day of the move, Von Paris staff was again very professional, courteous, and accommodating. They arrived on time and came prepared with the necessary equipment. They dissambled furniture with care, packed and protected each item before transporting it to the new location. They then reassembled the furniture and placed each piece as requested. They completed the job timely and did not damage any property. Prior to retiring as a federal government manager, I oversaw major moving and hauling contracts so I am very familar with how a company should provide such services. During my career I oversaw hundreds of moves which included the movement of furniture, office equipment, as well as supplies and materials. I evaluated every company and didn't hesitate to ensure we had the best contractors for each job. With all this said, I definitely would recommend Von Paris.

The estimate was done in a professional manner. The first day of packing only one person came as they had double booked. She was, however, a powerhouse. The next day three men came to finish the packing and load into the truck. They were about an hour late but worked very hard and were very professional on the job. We do not yet know the total quality of their services as our move is not complete. We chose VonParis because their cost for storage was lower than the other candidates. They were recommended highly to us by a friend.

The worst experience ever and I will NEVER refer anyone to them. The head crew person threw a temper tantrum and they were late. Moving is stressful enough but to have an unprofessional person to deal with as well is asking for too much. He added more stress than was necessary. The second crew on the following day was much better and far more professional. Too bad we didn't have them both days. I will never use them again.

I contracted with United Van Lines for my move from Washington, DC. Von Paris was the local agent sent to pack my home. On the day of the scheduled pack, they were to arrive between 9am-11am. At approximately 10am, I received a message saying they would be delayed to sometime between 11am-1pm. At 1pm they still had not arrived. It took all afternoon to learn that they would not be arriving until 6pm due to the fact that the packing team had gone (incorrectly) to pack a different job instead of ours. Finally, at 6pm, two packers arrived and three additional packers joined them at 8pm. They did not leave my home until close to midnight that evening. All day long, it was incredibly difficult to get a hold of anyone at Von Paris that had any information for us. This kind of delay was unacceptable, but we were at their mercy given that we had to move out of our home the next day. While the packing occurred, we had set some items aside that were not to be packed, including our luggage, personal papers, and valuables including some jewelry and electronics. These items were clearly set aside and all of the movers were told that these belongings were not to be touched. The day after the packing occurred, our stuff was loaded onto the moving truck without issue. However, after the moving truck left, we went to load our personal belongings, including the items set aside, into our car. As we did so, I noticed that some of the electronics items -- 2 external hard drives -- we had set aside were missing. These hard drives contained all of my personal and work computer files. These files were irreplaceable and seeing them missing I went into a complete panic. We immediately called Von Paris. The driver of the truck unpacked approximately 10 boxes from the room these items were in, thinking that they perhaps had been accidentally packed. He did not find them. Each of the packers was also questioned and asked if they recalled seeing the items in question -- none indicated they had. We filed a report with the DC police alleging possible in home theft. All Von Paris and our moving coordinator (overseeing our move from Michigan) could say was that they hoped the items had been accidentally packed in another box and that we would find them when we fully unpacked. A week later and now in our new home, we fully unpacked all of our boxes. The missing hard drives did not turn up. When I followed up with Von Paris to let them know, I asked if they would please again follow up with the packers -- a woman named Kathy Clippard said she would, and would get back to me. This was over two weeks ago. She said they take these issues very seriously, but she never followed up with me and the DC police have dropped this as well. These items were too valuable for either myself or my husband to have misplaced them. The circumstances of their disappearance were incredibly suspicious and while I did not see anyone from Von Paris take them, there is no other conclusion that I can reasonably come to. The fact that the information contained on those hard drives was irreplaceable is personally and professionally devastating to me -- a point I made very clear to Von Paris. Under NO circumstances would I ever do business with Von Paris or United Van Lines again. I originally went with United because of a relationship with my future employer who was paying for my move, thinking that a national moving chain would employ reputable individuals. I was surely mistaken.

I had the worst moving experience with Von Paris. They showed up with half of my belongings, and they didn't even notify me beforehand. I had to argue with them to get the rest of my stuff moved for me. They made my move very miserable.

It was a messy packing process since I had lived in my home for over twenty years. However, everything got packed and into the truck. Then my belongings had to be moved out of the truck and into storage for 6 months or more. Here's a big "don't". Only get units on the first floor. Using the elevator wastes a lot of time.

The move went very well. The driver and three movers arrived promptly. They were friendly, polite, had a good sense of humor, and worked tirelessly without breaks (except for a short lunch break). They took apart three beds and two bookcases and reassembled them correctly at the new place. No damage or breakage was noted. The movers asked whenever they had questions about where to place items. The cost was exactly as estimated. We felt the service was well worth the cost--it was neither the lowest nor highest bid. I would definitely recommend them to friends or use them again if needed.

I'm in the process of moving across the county. Von Paris is the local agent handling the first part of the move for United Van Lines. I contacted numerous moving companies, but this was the only one that came to the house and gave me a binding estimate. The estimator, Mark, was very responsive to my questions and time line. The contact person, Dara, was efficient and pleasant handling the scheduling and paper work. The movers, Jason and Abdul, were professional, on time and took great care with my belongings. Scheduling at this time of year is difficult, but this phase of the move went exactly as they had promised. I highly recommend their services for local moves. United will complete the move and I hope they are as professional and timely as Von Paris This us an update of my review posted above. The review above is accurate; however, there was an accounting error where I was overcharged. I alerted the Von Paris of the error and provided proof of the invoice and the amount charged on my credit card. It took their management 7 months to refund the money I was overcharged. In addition, I had problems filing a claim with United for lost items. It took a lot of effort on my part to have the claim processed. After four months, that claim has been apparently finished The movers did show up on time and sometimes things get lost. The handling of the claims though took a lot of time and many follow ups on my part to get a straight forward refund.

I have used them for each of my three moves, and they always do an excellent job. The crew was efficient, and nothing was broken or damaged during the move.

Nothing lost, nothing broke, very reliable. I would recommend them to anyone I know.

We were happy with Von Paris from start to finish. Brett answered all our questions and prepared a thorough and reasonably priced estimate. Terrell, Lee and Josh showed up when promised and worked hard and carefully throughout the day. There was no damage to any of our things. We received a phone call subsequently to ask if we were happy with the move or if we had any problems. That is a nice touch. We would not hesitate to use them again.

They did a very good job. I would recommend them to others. I will use them again.

AMAZING! This moving company is the best I've dealt with in a long time and I have moved several times. They were prompt, curteous, careful and just a pleasure to deal with. I highly recomment them!

They had a very fair price. They were very professional. They were very careful with our things. They showed up when they were supposed to show up. So far when they took our stuff away, they did a great job. I would use them in the future.
