I have had several moves in past ranging from ok to good. Perry set a new standard. This is not only the best move ever but in every way was superior to all previous companies. Crew very experienced and handled everything like is was theirs. Had plenty of packing materials and stacks and stacks of pads on the truck. Outbound house was four stories with steep narrow stairs with turns. Furniture moved out without so much as a close call with the walls. Laid down carpet protection on main stair runners near the door. Wrapped all furniture with pads package style. Everything arrived in North Carolina without any damage or breakage. This firm is truly head and shoulders above the competition.

The initial contact to draw up the estimate was professional and friendly. She was responsive to the fact that I wanted to pack my confidential files, and I wanted to move my art works. She was also fine with moving one of my couches to my home because it would not be needed in my smaller new office. The estimate was reasonable, as was the deposit. She and another staff person stayed in touch via email and phone, to confirm the arrangements, and thus there were no unwanted surprises. On the moving day, the 3-person team arrived on time. They were friendly, professional, skillful, organized, and efficient. I feel they went beyond the call of duty and made everything as easy for me as they could. Because of my preparations, and their efficiency, the final bill came in under estimate, which was also a plus. I really couldn't have been more satisfied.

They were really friendly, but one when we started unpacking our stuff, they broke our furniture, and they misplaced our crib screws, and they didn't take responsibility. I didn't like their follow through. The price was good.

Overall I give this company and their subcontractors a D. We finally received all of our belongings in one piece undamaged. The movers themselves were excellent .. The price was very reasonable. On the negative side, the communication between the two companies (the one I hired and the one that moved my furniture) was horrific. We were supposed to have our move on the 12th of September and by mistake I found out the the movers scheduled me the for the 10th. that would have been a big debaucle if I hadn't spoken to Perry, My Hired company Perry was not aware of this.During the whole move. the subcontractors who were Stevenson lied to me regarding when the furniture would arrive several times over several days. We even cut our vacation short so we could be there to accept the furniture. My hired company could not reach the driver or the dispatcher to find out when,, how and where. .They changed the arrival date 4 times. and none of this was communicated to my company accurately. Please do not use a moving company who subcontracts out. if there is such a thing. I was not informed during the assessment of our furniture prior to signing with Perry that there would be another company delivering our furniture. I would have kept searching to find a company that really would be responsible for the move. The owner eventually called me about a month after the move. They offered many apologies and they ended up sending a check for a little over $100.00 from the broker that he used. He realized he should have been more involved in the move and did apologize profusely.

Part of our furniture went into the apartment and the other half went into their storage facility. They were prompt, professional, friendly and a pleasure to work with. No furniture was scratched and nothing was broken. We will be using them again when we moved once more from our temporary apartment into our condo. They came highly recommended by several people and I would not hesitate in recommending them to everyone!

Everything went extremely well: nothing was damaged or misplaced, and the job was completed on-time and on-budget. In more detail: They showed up on time with a crew of 3 and got busy packing. Everything was packed and padded properly. This included a piano and a large plasma TV. They were very conscientious asking about what went/stayed and making sure that I was happy with how things were packed up. All boxes were clearly labeled. The crew worked VERY hard, and they were friendly and courteous. When we arrived at the destination, they unloaded quickly and efficiently and put everything where I'd told them to. They were also very cooperative in moving a couple of items from place to place within the house, including a King Size mattress that had to be hoisted to a second floor balcony. Finally, kudos to the driver, who successfully backed a large truck down a long, narrow driveway with overhanging trees. He took his time, was careful, and didn't so much as scrape a branch. All in all, as good a moving experience as I can recall.
