Overall had a very good experience. For starters, the estimator, Dennis Klein, put together a very detailed proposal. He spent close to 45 minutes up on our roof and laid out in specific detail everything that had to be done, from taking off the two layers of shingles to flashing the chimneys and caulking the pipe collars. He tried to sell us on doing the ventilation in the attic and our cathedral area but we felt it was too expensive and not necessary for us. Just be warned if you bring them in for an estimate that they will try to sell you on that. It's good to do, but my wife and I felt we will only be in the house for the next five to seven years, so we'd leave the ventilation to the next owners. However, once it came time to sign the contract, the hard sell was over and the work began. The roof was done in one day last Friday. The crew was arrived on time at 7:30 a.m. and except for the brief showers, started work a few minutes after that. The project super, Brandon Crone, was nice as could be and got the job done before 5 p.m. that day. I have to say one of the things Dennis told us during the presentation that if we have pets we'll be pleased with how the crew cleans the grounds after the job. Well, the crew did an awesome job on the cleanup. The entire area around our house was spotless. All the construction debris was hauled and the front and back porches were swept up and the leaves blown off the sidewalk. My only complaint is that they left our shed a bit messy. Part of the job was replacing rotted out, moldy plywood on our shed, and some of the debris wasn't swept up. Other than that, which took me two minutes, they did a great cleanup job. One other thing, during the job Brandon pointed out that there was more rotted out plywood than they expected, so that cost an extra $1,100 dollars for the material and labor. But other than that, the extra plywood was the only and quot;gotchaand quot; and that was kind of expected. I was actually grateful that he pointed it out because before the job we were having leaks in our living room. The plywood was so rotted out in our house in one corner that there was just a hole from the single to the ceiling. Yikes!!! On Monday (today) two workmen came to install the gutter and they were done inside of three hours. Very nice and cordial. I asked them to run a long downspout in the front of my house and they did that with pleasure. All in all, the job got done in 1.5 days. We have a 2,000 square foot house, so it wasn't a big job, but for us it was a big deal. I work at home so I appreciated them being able to get in and out inside of two work days.

Originally chose Brothers over lower bids because of their detailed presentation and their warranties. Week after we signed the contract we were emailed the first 2 of eventually 4 waivers and asked to agree. Both of the waivers were in conflict with what was presented to us initially. The service manager came out and after some discussion some changes were made. A date was set and my husband stayed home to observe the work. After stripping the roof of all shingles the supervisor informed my husband we needed to replace the whole roof deck to the tune of an additional $2000 +. When my husband told them that would not happen he was told the work could not proceed unil he signed another waiver basically negating any warranties. My husband waited for over an hour for this waiver and everyone just sat around. At the end of an hour my husband asked the supervisor where the waiver was for his signature and he replied he hadn't received it yet. My husband asked to be shown the bad deck boards and went on the roof with the supervisor. He asked the bad ones to be marked off and for those alone to be replaced. Soon afterwards (while still waiting for the waiver) the roof work was begun again. I arrived home from work an hour before sunset and there was still plenty of work to be done including about 1/4 of the roof and all the flashing on our chimney. The flashing was placed in the dark with a flashlight and the roof also finished in the dark with the supervsor on the roof with another flashlight. When completed about 7:30 he came in and wanted us to sign paperwork saying they were finished and we were satisfied with the work and also sign the waiver promised during the morning Of course we could not sign as it was finished and clean up was done in the dark.. After my husband got up on the roof next day and after we picked up sharp pieces of cut flashing from the yard and a and quot;coiland quot; of sharp nails from our curb we signed the release. They should have come back out the next day especially when work was finished in the dark to make sure there was a proper clean up. Bottom line it was not worth the extra money to feel comfortable with the warranty no matter how long Brothers has been in business. By the time you are done signing waivers and agreeing to additional charges so you can get your new roof done in a timely fashion the warranties and presentation means nothing.

The estimater gave me the price after measring the gutters. However when i told him i was an Angies member and they offered a discount for seniors he did not want to offer the discount. he said everybody pays the same price. Despite receiving 2 confirmation emails prior to the scheduled estimate date, no one showed and no one called. We called to find out what happened, and were told there was a scheduling glitch. If they dont remember to show up to sell me something, how can i rely on them showing up to perform the work.

Brothers Services advertises on tv quite a bit - we called them based on one of the ads - they promptly came to our home to measure for an estimate - we were told they would contact us with a price within a week but never received a call back - I guess they didn't want our business - I wouldn't recommend giving them yours either

PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS!! Rep arrived on time and seemed friendly, very professional. We were told that since Brothers is an overall contractor, unlike a lot of other roofing companies, they are qualified to work under the roof (i.e., in the attic) and he needed to inspect that area as well as the roof itself. He was up there for a while, and came down and asked if I was aware of any mold issues. I told him that we weren't. He then pulled out his phone, showed me photographs of mold, rotting wood, decomposing nails, etc etc. He said in addition to all that needing to be fixed, the ventilation was no good because the side eaves were covered with insulation and that would have to be repaired with a special guard, etc etc. Plus, the gutters would need to be replaced, etc etc. Thing is, when he went to show me the pictures on his phone, the brief view I got of the exterior of the house did not resemble ours. Basically, he said he'd need to write up everything and really wanted to come back in order to discuss work with my husband and I-- I just wanted the price and work list to relay to husband, but he wanted to return with both of us present. He said he'd call back to arrange something. A few days passed and I received a call from a secretary within the company, who asked us if we were ready to sign up for our work. I explained the situation-- that I had not received an actual estimate nor writeup of work, nor had I heard back from the rep. She said she'd get back with us. A week later, she calls again, this time very surprised. We did not hear from them again. KEEP READING--- Rewind. When the rep from Brothers had first come to the home, said his thing, and left, I was understandably concerned with all the problems our attic had and called another contractor immediately. He came the following day, was very patient with me as he kept going up into the attic and checking on specific things I requested. In the end, there was no mold, no rot, no covered vents, nothing. He even said our roof had a few good years of life left in it! My husband crawled up to the attic and confirmed this. Which, obviously, concludes that this company, or at least one of its reps/salesmen, are DISHONEST and NOT WORTH YOUR BUSINESS. The photos shown to me were not from our home and I wonder how many gullible homeowners fell for the same sales pitch without ever checking for themselves the validity of claims. Brothers is riding on its (presently good) name, which they earned for a reason I'm sure at some point, but I would never trust this company. Be very wary of Brother's! Get other estimates! Do not believe that all the work they suggest is truly necessary. I would not recommend them to anyone. When the company's rep breathes lies, they have earned this poor review.

The contract provided was very vague and unclear as to what pricing was for each service and total pricing as well to scope of work. I made multiple attempts to clarify pricing by phone and email and it took a long time to hear back and the answers still were not clear. and quot;It is everything from that line up on the contract that is included in pricingand quot; when there were multiple other things on the punch list. Twice I spoke with a secretary at Brothers requesting to speak with a customer service rep or a higher up so as to work through this lack of clarity In the contract pricing and to come up with a strong and clear wording of services etc.. Both times the secretary referred me back to the salesperson and said if I could not work it out with him then she would put me through to someone else. Then she still wouldn't put me through to anyone else so it was a dead end. Also, the estimate was 3 times that of 2 other companies highly rated on Angies list and when asked to explain this I was just told their work is better. This company has done multiple past jobs for us and has been one of our go to trusted companies so I am very disappointed.

They finished the job but not to our expectations. I had to bring in another contractor in to finish the job.

I had a small water mark on my kitchen ceiling so I called Brothers Services Company and they sent out a service estimator on 5/4/09 to look at it.. His proposal consisted of removing damaged or missing shingles and replacing them, and resealing all ridge vents on the roof. Also, they would replace two pipe collars and reseal any disturbed areas with roof cement. The cost was $454.00 and I was required to send them a deposit of $151.00. I sent a check for $151.00 on 5/12/09 and my repairs were scheduled for 5/18/09. They never showed up on the scheduled day and I called the Service Mgr. who said they should have called me because my job had to be rescheduled. He had it rescheduled for 5/21/09. On that day the 2 workers showed up late. They put 2 seals (rubber collars) on the pipes, nailed down some shingles, replaced a few shingles and caulked around the ridges where needed. On 6/19/09 I noticed a leak on the kitchen ceiling and upon going outside and checking the roof I saw that the leaks were coming from the and quot;rubber collarsand quot; that they had installed. I called Brothers and spoke to the person who schedules work and she couldn't send anyone to repair the new leak ( that they had caused) for a week because they were very busy due to constant rain every day. On 6/26/09 the person that they sent out inspected their work and told me that it had been a bad job and neither of the and quot;collarsand quot; were sealed correctly. He temporarily sealed them with caulk and said he'd have them come out and re-do the job. On 6/29/09 I called the Service Manager who told me the job was not a and quot;bad joband quot; it just wasn't perfect! Also he said I had other problems that weren't found until the last inspection and I better get them repaired or I'll have substantial problems. I declined. I was told someone would be out on 6/29/09 to re-do the collars but noone showed up. I called the scheduler on 7/1/09 and was told that someone came the day before and took care of it although I wasn't home.

The workers did excellent work, I know the weather held it back, but they never called us we had to call them. Also, they took the workers off my job because they had to go back to another job. When they did not show up that dayno one from Brothers service call us . I think they at lease owe me that, When I sent they an email they said they were sorry.

They did an excellent job. I called them and they replaced the rail for the steps for I could be able to go up and down without a problem. They didn't have a problem with the fact that I already had the parts for the job and the only thing that they charged for was the labor, which was $85/hour, which only took them an hour to complete the job. They were nice people and I would definitely be calling them again for some work.

Went fine but there was a miscommunication about putting ridge vents in. They honored the contract and returned to remedy the situation the next day. Very responsive and did a great job

So far they have been extraordinary. They are expert on their field. They are very responsive. They ask the right questions. You can tell they want to do the right thing. They want to make sure that they're doing a good job and satisfying the needs of the customer. They are very customer focused. Because they are so busy, it took me a couple of weeks to get an appointment.

They came out and figured out what the leak was from, gave us a good estimate, and then came out fix it right away. They were on time, cleaned up and did a good job. We were happy we used them. They have had a lot of good reviews.

I would never go with Brothers Services Company. For me, it was a very poor experience. When we went with them, we knew they were the higher end for what we were replacing. It was a group of three guys doing the work. They just really disrespectful to one of the workers. That really bothered us, the way they interacted with each other, really putting him down. It was not the work, but how they managed themselves. After the work was done, we still had a leak on the roof. They didn't originally do it for me. It was really hard to deal with them; to get them to try to continue to fix the problem. Once they did the new roof, they decided that was all they had to do. It was pretty much like pulling teeth. I found someone who is a commissioner in Maryland for Home Improvement and I actually started copying them in on the emails. It's really took getting a higher being, someone that could oversee them, to really get any work down. We'll never go with them again.

The roof replacement was on a 200 year old house, which presented the contractor with special challenges. The work was scheduled to take 2 weeks, but took 4 weeks to complete. To their credit. they worked through these challenges at no additional cost and kept me well informed along the way. One of the issues was the fact that they only provided two workers for most of the duration of the project. Providing additional workers on the job at key times, such as during tear off, could have reduced the duration of the project. However, those workers were thorough, careful in their work and the resulting quality was very good. They were also punctual and polite and easy to work with. I would recommend them for future roofing work.

They were twice the price as anybody else. When I explained to the sales person, that they were twice the price, he started to justify and I told him I was not interested. I paid $7,000 to the other company. Their responsiveness was good; they kept their appointment and they were on time but I will never call them ever again.

I was having problem with ice sprinkling right over my front door. It was actually pricey, I want to say it was like $400-500 to work on it, but it was sort of like I was continuing having sheets of ice, like the load would run off of the roof right over the front door, so that it was like a ton of ice always as I went outside the front door. So, they put in a special gutter and a special foam, a cover of the gutter, to prevent ice sprinkling. They were very good at that. I described the problem when I called up and said it is just driving me crazy and she said so you want this one particular person to come out because he is the one who really understands and deals with this, do you mind waiting another week for this guy to come out and look at it as opposed to the regular people, and I was like fine. I was just impressed that the person taking the call stopped, thought about it and really sent out the person who was really the person within the company to come out and figure out what to do and how to take care of the problem. They came out, they did the work, and they did fine with it, but they fact that they stopped and really thought about it I thought that was the thing that was really good about it. They were expensive, it is a small piece of thing but it took care of the problem and it did work. It was a very peculiar problem, but they knew how to handle it.

I originally wanted Brothers to do my work based on a previous experience I had with them that was excellent. But after Hurricane Irene, they could not come out to provide an estimate for about 2 weeks. I should have waited! Instead, I went with the company who did the emergency repair which ended up being a disasterous experience. That relationship lasted about 6 months but fell apart due to the contractor almost doubling the price after a signed contract but before work started - I finally had to terminate it. BROTHERS to the rescue! I called Brothers to come out and give me an estimate. Their estimator was excellent! He surveyed the entire job and came back with a price for more work at less cost than the original contractor. Here is what was so different. They gave me prices for all the different options for how I might want the job done. They gave me realistic costs for things like rotted wood, that they might find once they tore the roof apart, so that I understood upfront what the final costs might be. I was left confident that there would be no excessive cost overruns. They more than delivered in that respect. Before signing the contract, I felt no pressure to move forward. Every step of the way, I felt as if they were working for my best interests at the price we agreed on. They gave me the assurance that things were going to be done to my satisfaction. When the project manager came out before starting the job, he pointed out things that the original restoration contractor did not. He showed my how my roof had shifted slightly in the garage where the tree impacted and explained how they would correct that. When the actual work was performed, it took two days due to the size of the roof and the need to rebuild the garage roof structure. The work crew was professional and polite. The project manager was in contact with me throughout the job explaining what was being done and what progress was complete at the end of each day. I never had to make my own call. The work done was excellent, beautiful, and thorough. Unlike some contractors, they thoroughly cleaned up afterward each day. The original estimated cost was about $22,000.00. The cost overrun was minor, as predicted before work started, which was about $1,000.00 for rotted wood found underneath the surface that had to be replaced. Well within my expectations. At the end of the job I was so pleased, I requested for them to replace and add some gutters which they did for an additional $1,000.00 (amounts are approximate.) They left me with a beautiful roof and a wonderful experience. What excites me about Brothers Services is that this is the only contractor experience that left me with such a good feeling about their work. To summarize, they were courteous, professional, and thorough. No unexpected costs. Everything they promised - they delivered on and they were very specific as to all costs UP FRONT! The workers were thorough, professional, and cleaned up afterwards. When all is said and done, total price came to about $24,000.00 which was $4,000.00 less than the original contractor who only was going to do the garage. I have used Brothers twice now, once on a former home for a small job and now on this job. My only regret is that I wish is I had waited the two weeks after the storm to get their estimate first. Lesson learned. I would highly recommend them for any roofing job or any other home improvement work you might want done. The Two things that stand out about them - they keep their word and they leave you with the satisfaction of knowing the job is done your way and done right! A year later, I love my roof and the work that BROTHERS SERVICES did!

Brothers Services Company didn't really give us a price. They come out and then they say they're going to get someone else out to talk to you. So, you really don't get a price from them. We used them another time and when you call them and they do come out, they say they'll get back with you and you never hear from them again.

The quote the Brothers Services Company gave me ended up being twice as much as the person that I went with. Their salesman was a little high pressured. I heard that they have a good reputation but I was a little disappointed. They were knowledgeable though and they knew what they were doing, they also came right away and spent a long time with me.

the job has not started but since I was here writing about the insulation job that they did .. I wanted everyone to know that we have already called them back for another job.

He was pretty thorough. We haven't done the work yet.

My perception of the price at the time was that they were high. The representative as very good and I liked him. He seemed pretty sure and knowledgeable.

They did a good job, they were prompt and showed up early and cleaned up very well! They had a supervisor who came at the end of the job to check on everything. We chose them based on recommendations from others in our neighborhood.
