They performed the job well except they had to order additional materials. Also, the estimator was to arrange financing for the balance due on completion. This never came to be and we ended up having to pay the balance ourselves.

Although their website says and quot;Leaky Roof? The Dangers Of Waiting Another Dayand quot; was told by the operator / receptionist it would take 4 weeks for someone to come out and provide an estimate

There were simple excellent. The roof looks great, they cleaned up the yard very good, and they were done ahead of schedule. They even dismounted and remounted my Direct TV dish when DTV didn't show when they were supposed to. The Brother's worker was very careful as he took the dish down and secured it out of the way. He put it back in the exact same holes in the wood somehow after he put the new shingles down, and it came right back on with no lose on the signal strength. They did everything they said the would and more and my house looks great.

They did an excellent job and they are a great company. A crew came out for the service and they finished the job in a day. I was not home while they did the actual service. They did good work and were great with the cleanup. They were very punctual and their pricing is competitive. They were very schedule. I would definitely use this company again.

The service was fine. There were seven or eight people who came out to do the work. It took a whole day to complete. There were no additional charges. When they came out for the estimate they did a thorough evaluation and used a low key selling approach. There was no pressure selling. As soon as they had an opening they called us and were here one week after we signed the contract to complete the work.

The estimator was very thorough and professional. Of the three companies who gave me roof replacement estimates, he was the only one to walk the roof and go up into my attic! I did not choose this contractor because the work that he wanted to do was more than I wanted to invest in this house.

The quoted price was pretty good, but slightly higher than another company's. So we picked the lowest bid.

Prior to the work being done, Brothers scheduled three appointments; one for project scope/cost estimate, one to verify work effort and how waste was to be removed; and one for a project manager appointment. All appointments were kept on time except for one (where the project manager was late due to traffic issues). The scope of work included partial replacement of an existing roof and replacement of a bedroom ceiling; painting of the new ceiling and some cleanup and base painting of upstairs hallway walls where paint was chipped/peeling. I was happy with work on the roof repair, though in retrospect, I felt it was overpriced. Crew arrived on time, and project lead was knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. Clean-up was done well. I was not as happy with the inside work. For the inside project, the work was sub-contracted to another group and there was a language barrier when talking with the crew about the work being done. There were two noticeable places on the new drywall celing where mistakes were made. One where caulk was used to fill in a large gap (where the drywall was cut too short) and another where the corner of the drywall was damaged, but just painted over. Additionally, the crew did not remove the ceiling fan prior to the ceiling demolition and plaster debris fell inside the fan motor. I had to to take the fan apart and clean it out. The inside work ran over the projected completion date, and I had to use addtional time from work to accomodate the repair schedule. Finally, after the job was completed, there was no follow-up from Brother's to come back and inspect the quality of the repairs (though the pre-work included three different appointments). For the price, I expected more.

Service went excellent. They came in and completed their job and left without any problems. They were very considerate people.

I would use them without hesitation. Since 2008, we have had no leaks or issues.

They were professional, and on time. I thought they were a bit high in price, but I considered the job worth the price.

We were very satisfied with the whole process from the time they started till they finished and clean up. The rep that handle the contract was very responsive in all our questions.

They did okay. They showed up on time. They did what they said they were gonna do. So far, so good.

We had worked with brothers before and were impressed with their work the first time around so went with them again. The work was completed in a day. All debris cleaned up and removed from premises. After we signed the contract for an agreed upon price they came back to us and said they had not accounted for something that was required and to make the change would cost us an additional $300. We argued that we signed a contract in good faith and if they had made a mistake on the quote we should not be the ones to pay the price. They agreed to perform the work as required at no additional charge. However, when they actually got here to perform the work, they mentioned that once they got in to install the ventilation if things were not previously installed properly it would require an additional $1058 charge. It was unexpected. At this point it was a bit late in the game to question and felt forced to agree to this additional fee. Feel as if we were promised one thing for one price and didn't get what was promised for the price agreed upon. Additionally upon comparing the shingles to the existing roof - not quite the match we expected. They had even taken samples up to our roof to compare color before ordering. Although the replacement roof itself and installation is satisfactory, the process to get there (from estimate to end of job) was definitely not pain free.

they came out and looked at what was going on and told us exactly what was going to be. They roof on our bay window is metal and they are one of the few companies that does that. They took care of it right away

They were excellent! They were always on time, they always cleaned up, and they were here on the days that they said they would be here. It turned out really well. We did not use Angie's List to find Brothers. We ended up with them because our neighbor used them and they ended up having such good success. The grade on Angie's List for Brothers is not very good. When someone even just doesn't like certain things, the grades are not that accurate. We've actually had them come out to give us an estimate for something else so we would use them again.

My husband and I feel that the work was done very well. Everyone that we worked with at BSC from the initial estimate/sales rep (Chris) to the project manager (Brandon) and finally the work and demeanor of the actual work team was terrific, and we felt like we were treated at a high level as customers. We were a little taken aback by the $5K additional cost to replace rotting roof decking, but we didn't feel as though we were taken advantage of. My husband was offered the option of replacing only the worst boards, but instead chose to go with all new ones. As the house is 84 years old and the roof had been simply re-shingled as opposed to properly repaired over the years by previous homeowners, it was not surprising to find that the condition of the roof decking beneath three layers of shingles was poor. We chose Brothers based on a positive impression from a previous visit for a estimate a couple of years earlier. At that time, we opted to go with another service provider, but for this project we decided to give Brothers a shot. I have to say, I am a firm believer in using a company's online reviews as a factor in my decisions. I went with my gut on this one, and it did work out well. There are some reviews here that probably would have scared me off! We are now in the process of having Brothers remodel our bathroom. I will most definitely come back to review that part of the process of working with BSC as well. For now, however, I can only speak from my husband's and my experiences with this company. And I'd have to say that we are quite pleased with the work that they have done for us thus far, and would highly recommend them. The pricing is on the higher end, but as to that I can say that after we were kind of taken by surprise by that additional roofing cost, the team at Brothers did work with us on our bath pricing. We found them to be fair and willing to go above and beyond to accomodate us, although they certainly were under no obligation to do so. That meant a lot to us as customers, especially as we have several other large home projects in the pipe coming up!

We didn't use them, the only problem was the price.

The price was higher. We were out of town and my daughter came up from North Carolina to be here while they were worked and what I didn't like was they told my daughter that there slates and that I want them replaced and I said while they were on the roof go ahead and they replaced every 35 or 45 slate and charged me $35 or $45 per slate and when I got the bill I was furious. They had to come and they had to get the slate and install them I had see charging that but when they are replacing whole bunch of slate they are already here I thought that was an outrageous price. I said I would never use them again.They pointed out that it was in the small print of the contract and it was. They didn't fix the leaks in the roof. The quality of the masonry was good. The quality of the roof work where the leaks returned is probably bad. I would not use them in the future.

Love it and very happy with all services. I have used Brothers for other projects (roof replacement, deck repair, porch roof replacement, gutter replacement). I am planning to replace all windows next fall and plan on contracting Brothers to handle the job.

cost was about what I figured it would be, given the fact that good slate guys are hard to find. most try to sell you a new asphalt shingle roof. first rain seems to have stayed outside the attic. here's hoping, but it looks good. will use them every 3-4 years as slate maintenance acompany.

Signs of trouble ahead started even before I signed the contract. Brothers refused to include paint (because they wanted me to be responsible for any color match issues) or to include the minor repair of lamppost housing structure in their proposal (because it was and quot;electrical workand quot; - it was not). Even so, Brothers' proposal was more than twice as much as insurance paid to cover all repairs ($5469 vs $2219). The insurance adjuster offered to work with the Brothers rep who prepared the proposal to reconcile. The adjuster said the Brothers rep told him they do not generally provide the quote details he'd requested it was unless new construction and then their call was mysteriously disconnected. Weeks later the adjuster said he'd been unable to reach the Brothers rep by phone or email since, although he said he'd tried multiple times. Brothers said there was a personal issue affecting the Brothers rep’s ability to respond for a few weeks, but they offered no replacement representative. Furthermore, the inability to reach the Brothers rep persisted even after his return to work. Still, thinking I was getting and quot;the bestand quot; based on reputation, I proceeded, signing the Brothers contract and paying the deposit in the first week of May. It took Brothers until the first week of June and several follow-ups before I finally got them to commit to a start date. It was to be in the third week of June. However, no completion target date or length of work estimate was provided, it took me another week to get their answer (several days). Without my signing off on the work, Brothers sent to me an invoice for the balance due in the fourth week of June. I immediately notified them in writing, with photos, of the unacceptable and incomplete work: 1. Something (wood?) was sticking out and overhanging the new Brothers installed gutter guard above the patio/screen porch door and should not be there. 2. Surface not prepared –breezeway ceiling – for painting (i.e. – not sanded); On surfaces painted by Brothers, paint was already bubbling up in spots. 3. Brothers installed rain gutter was not fully protecting breezeway roof. There was a large open gap between gutter and roof on southwest corner; Water would not flow into gutter. 4. There was an open un-caulked hole into the Brothers installed breezeway roof interior at the southwest corner of the breezeway roof. 5. The Brothers installed gutter guard was not attached properly on both sides of the breezeway roof. It did not slope away from roof. Water would pond on the roof and not drain away into gutters. 6. The wood quality used in the Brothers supplied and installed handrail replacement was unacceptably poor with excess knots and blemishes in the wood. 7. The Brothers repaired handrail was very wobbly and unstable. Its broken supporting post should have been replaced and re-bedded. The metal collar Brothers attached to the upper section of the broken post instead of replacing and re-bedding the post was not acceptable and posed a safety hazard should someone lean on the hand rail. 8. Garden plants were trampled and destroyed by Brothers' work crew. This is not what I'd expected from and quot;the bestand quot;. No response from Brothers until the second week in July, when they completed with marginal acceptability some of the disputed issues (repainting and fixing gutter and caulk issues). In addition and as demonstration of how Brothers responded to fixing issues brought to their attention during the work: The supporting piece of wood just under the Brothers replaced handrail was mis-cut because they did not level the replaced handrail section with the rest of the pre-existing handrail sections. When the sloping handrail was brought to Brothers' attention, they just moved the whole mess up. This caused their original mitered cuts on the supporting wood piece to not be mitered anymore, but they did nothing to address this portion of the re-repair. Next, they sent a proposal to charge me another $569 to fix the handrail post safety hazard. Brothers’ General Manager reached out with a note saying he took responsibility for the decision of how to repair the handrail post and would offer me a 15% discount to have them completed the additional work (to fix it right). By this time, I just wanted to be done working with Brothers due to repeated unresponsiveness and poor quality workmanship. I declined and told them to just replace the poor quality handrail wood which they had still neglected to do and I would pay them the balance due from the contract. It took me another couple of weeks and follow ups to get them to complete that work. I promptly paid Brothers the remaining balance due from the contract. The replacement handrail wood was only marginally less blighted. As icing on this and quot;service nightmare cakeand quot;, before Brothers completed that final re-repair work task, I was contacted by Brothers’ Accounting Department about my and quot;unpaid balanceand quot;. I expect better communications between Brothers' Service and Accounting Departments when there are agreed to re-repairs still undone.

We met at their Columbia office/show room with two members of the staff, one of whom was a design consultant. The displays were very well set up for materiels selection. The personnel were personable and professional. When we received estimate, I had the distinct impression that the words- moderation( in material) and budget were not in their vocabulary.

The dates are not accurate, but I will not call this company for anything. I called Brothers for an estimate for landscaping in my back yard. A landscaper came out, looked at my yard and said he'd get back to me with an estimate, but that he had a and quot;big joband quot; pending, but he would get back to me in about a week. He never called back. Not very impressed with this company, if they don't even have the consideration to decline for some reason. I guess it just wasn't worth their time or effort for a and quot;small joband quot;.
