I got them off from Angie's list. They were really professional and very clean. I was very pleased with them. Their price was competitive. I thought it was fair. I did receive a discount. They were higher than some of the others were; but their work was good. I got what I paid for.

The roofing was fine, but they didn't do such a good job on the sink. Their specialty is roofing and they need a little more skill in other areas of work they say they do. My suggestion would be to use them for roofing only. I will not use them again in the future.

I had a terrible experience with them. They were going to do the roof and I gave them a deposit of $3000 and they have yet to return it. I have to go to court for that. I had a contract with them in September and I told them very clearly that I was having problem with the upper floor of the house and I needed to have the attics fixed. Then they gave the quote. They also said that they would be doing the work after thanksgiving but after that I got an email from them stating that they won't do it that way and they needed to do something else and I should sign a waiver for that. Then at last I told them to return my money so that I could get someone else to do the work for me. They said that they wouldn't do what was written in the contract. The guy who came out to give an estimate didn't know exactly what had to be done and they also apologized for that. The salesman on the phone was not good and it was like they wanted the money and didn't just care about the customer's satisfaction. I would never use them.

Brothers Services gave me an estimate which included a detailed price and materials listing. They worked with me to bring this estimate in line with my budget and completed the roof prior to the estimated date. Lee Brandt, the roofing project manager, not only inspected my roof from the outside, but spent considerable time in my attic prior to giving me an overall estimate for this project, to preclude any unforeseen circumstances. He also worked as hard as any other workman on the job for the entire time of this project. I am very satisfied with the entire finished product. The roof, gutters and facia look great and I would definitely use Brothers Services again for any home improvement project.

Brothers Services Co. was great. They did a good job. Their cleanup was great.

No one called back after my call and message left that I wanted a estimate for roof and new gutters.

One of the starter shingles popped off later, but they apologized and came right back out and fixed the problem. It was due to the weather being cold while they were installing them. They also washed and cleaned off my deck after they completed the work. Overall, I was very pleased with their work.

Courteous, and fast. They came out pretty quick after I signed the contract.

After a water stain was detected in my bedroom ceiling, I contacted Brothers Services to request an inspection of my roof and an estimate to repair/replace my roof. They were able to make an appointment the next day and arrived on time for the appointment. They were very professional and thorough, and inspected both the roof and the attic for damage. They provided an estimate for replacement, but recommended against repair. Their estimate was significantly higher than others I received (almost double on average). They subsequently reduced their initial estimate by 20%, but this was still much higher that other estimates. Although they have a strong reputation for quality and customer service, and their materials/process was in line with other estimates I received, their cost was beyond my budget, and well beyond other reputable roofers estimates. Those other roofers were referred to me by neighbors and friends who had work performed by those companies and had successful experiences, so I was comfortable that the estimates were legitimate. Note that the other roofers offered repair estimates, along with replacement estimates. I subsequently selected a roofer that repaired my roof for less than $300. Based on the roof repair company’s assessment, they estimated my roof should be in good shape for 4 or 5 more years. So far, my roof has held up well with the repairs. I may still replace my roof at some point in the near future to avoid further age related leaks. I will consider Brothers Services for future work, but only if their estimate is in line with other provider estimates and my budget.

I was satisfied with the work. They were prompt. They had given me an estimate and the work was done at the estimated price.

A salesman visited my house to provide an estimate for replacing my roof, including decking and gutters. Prior to leaving, he told me I could expect the estimate in my email inbox by a certain date. However, I didn't receive the estimate as promised. I contacted him after the agreed date, and only then did he provide it. When I looked at the document, I was highly disappointed. The only information contained in it was a price (which was astronomical) and the overall objectives of what a roof is supposed to do (i.e., basically provide shelter). It was only after asking in a reply email that I found out what type of materials were included, the warranty of the shingle, and all other important information that should have been included initially in the estimate. High levels of ambiguity or vagueness typically indicate shadiness to me, but maybe I'm overly paranoid. I will credit them in their company follow-up. About one week after receiving the estimate, a woman called from Brothers to query my experience. She seemed interested - whether they implement any improvement is another story. Unfortunately, I won't contact them again.

I obtained a personal reference for Brother's. Somebody that I work with had family that worked for Brother's. When I called Brother's they were professional about scheduling somebody to come out for an estimate. Rick Harris came out to give us the estimate. After spending some time outside taking measurements, etc, he spent time with us going over the quote in detail. He offered us a the 'friends and family discount' because of our personal reference. Brother's was clearly more than capable of performing the work and Rick was clearly knowledgeable about the work and took the time to walk us through what would and would not be included and why certain things were done the way they were. In the end the only thing that tipped the balance for us was the price. Brother's was more than 50% higher than the other company that we had liked. We would have liked to go with Brother's given our personal reference but we just could not afford them. If we were looking at some work in the future that Brother's does perform, we would surely go back to Brother's at least to get a quote.

An organized outfit from beginning to end. From the original contract creation (on the spot) to the job start (about 2 weeks) to material arrival, crew arrival, and completion. Kept their promises for the detailed work and their schedule. They had different specialized crews for each type of work - roof, siding, gutters, windows. Each crew had a project lead who showed up at the start and resolved issues along the way. Very responsive to special concerns or complaints. For example, I asked for a new bath roof vent - they just did it for no cost. They worked around my house's extreme gutter slope. They replaced roof plywood and even one panel of external wall sheathing during the siding replacement. They solved these problems in a timely manner. Always friendly and accomodating from management to crew. Not cheap, but worth it for the quality and professional job.

Everything was done very well. It was a good experience overall and there never seems to be pressure on us.

The job was performed in a professional and timely fashion. We used this same company several years prior to this job to replace our roof and to install aluminum trim over our wood trim on the exterior of our home, which was built in 1988. Our neighbors and friends also love the addition.

The visit for the quote was timely and the sales rep was friendly and helpful. It did take a bit longer than desired for the job to be started, but was still reasonable. The finished product looks wonderful! The project manager came back himself to touch up a few details for us. Overall, we were very satisfied.

Salesman's estimate was a little higher initially than neighbors who have used this company within the year. However, we finally agreed on a reasonable price and I was very satisfied with the work. The work was done a few weeks after the estimate -- neatly, efficiently and without damage to my flowers. The cleanup afterward was exceptional. Friends who have used this company report great customer service and that's important to me. I was especially impressed with the project manager, Jan, who was not only personable, but on top of the job, checking in several times during the day. I recommend this company.

I like them, they do a good job. They were very good at responding to any complaints after the job and corrected them. I have no complaints about their workmanship. I think they did quality work.

BAD..BAD... BAD... They wanted me to pay $11K for a TOWNHOUSE... They tried to push all the top of the line shingles, etc. on me. When I pointed out that $1,000 per skylight was ridiculous (I did my research beforehand), I just happened to get a call on my phone 30 mins. after the estimator left saying he could sell the skylights for $500/ea. When I said please send me the proposal via email (as you want something like this in writing), I NEVER received anything. Then I got a call two weeks later from a woman at Brothers asking how my experience went. I told her the games they were playing. She said if someone could come back out and provide another estimate. I said "no," you company already has the notes from your "salesman," please send me a quote via email." long story short: I NEVER RECEIVED A PROPOSAL.... BUYER BEWARE.... Do your research, and ask for everything in writing. If they can deliver (like they did for me) I would say that is a HUGE RED FLAG.... I hope this helps.. there are plenty of well qualified roofers out there who will give you honest/fair estimates.

They were responsive and punctual. They did the work along with another company. They did a very good job fixing the leak. You would never know that there had been a leak in the ceiling. It was totally gone.

Bradley from Brothers Roofing came out on March 8 to give us an estimate to have the roof of our townhouse replaced. I was a little concerned because when I made the appointment, the receptionist said “both decision makers must be present” for the appointment. In my experience, this usually means high-pressure sales, and I was right. Bradley began by asking us a ton of personal questions – some were relevant (how long we had lived in the house, how long we had been thinking about getting the roof done, how long we planned to live at the house) and some that were too personal (how long we had been married, if it was our first marriage (!!!), how we met, where we went to college, where we worked, if we had kids, what our nationalities are). It felt very uncomfortable and like we were going to be given a quote based on our personal info. The estimate took an hour and a half and involved him going into our attic and onto our roof to take pictures. He was very disorganized, with tons of newspaper clippings about roof topics, material samples and diagrams in several folders that he kept searching through. He talked extremely slowly and wasted a lot of our time. In the end, he excused himself to make a phone call and then came in with an quote of $6,200. We balked because two other quotes we received were around $3,000. We said that seemed high, and he asked what we expected to pay and how we came to that number. We said that our neighbors had recently had their roofs done, all around $3,000-$3,500. Then, he said he had a commercial job that he could roll our materials purchase into and save us a lot of money, but we had to decide on the spot if we wanted to do business with him – for $4,200. I felt like this was very deceptive sales technique. I told him we had one more contractor giving a quote and wouldn’t be able to make a decision until after getting another quote. He packed up immediately and left in a hurry. I was shocked at this presentation because I have read such good reviews about Brothers on Angie’s List and they were just highly rated by Baltimore Magazine. They won’t be getting my business.

The price is astounding. 3500 dollars to just replace my gutters with 3750 to add Gutter Magic protection to my gutters. 7250 total for all the work I wanted done. My other estimates were approximately 800 dollars for the repair. The salesman was good and knowledgeable although other estimates included a diagram and this one did not. Without the other estimates, I might have felt this was appropriate. I am now suspicious of having this company do work for me if it is going to cost 4x more then any other company. ADDENDUM: They responded back to me on Angie's list basically saying that I was having sour grapes and should not criticize them for giving me what I asked for. All companies who contacted me realized I needed completely new gutters as the old gutters and some of the flashing were on the ground. They gave no pictures or drawings of the work they were proposing. When saying the cost was 4x that of any company I was solely responding to the 3,500 versus the 800 and not at all referencing the additional 3750 as I did ask about gutter guards. If I had factored the gutter guards in their estimate was 9x more than any other estimate. They have recently had a spate of bad reviews and people not choosing them and reporting back to Angie's list. We are not all wrong and not all filled with sour grapes. They have serious issues and blaming a customer for pointing out the estimate is completely out of line with all other estimates the customer has received is not a way to resolve your issues. Being a contractor means you get a job based on your estimate and you get compared to other estimates from other contractors. It is a straight comparison of service and price. The sales person does also work into the equation. I actually trusted Art (the sales guy sent) to give me an estimate more than a lower estimate I got because of how he behaved and that he was likable. But if you can't be anywhere near the price of your competition then you are not going to do the work. I strongly advise anyone using brothers to get multiple estimates to confirm what they tell you as a price. The price point made me leery of having them do work for me the attitude expressed in their response confirmed that they will not win a contract with me.

Well, I'd love to let everyone know how their service was but I'm still waiting for someone to call me back. I called on Monday and they said they were busy but to leave my name and number and someone would call me back that eve or the next day. No one called and it's Friday. Can't say that I'd recommend a company that can't call someone back!

They were awesome. They were the only people to respond to my request for an estimate. They got back to me within a couple of hours actually and set up an appointment. They came out, took their time and gave me samples and everything. Before, I use them I am going to contact a couple of other people as a good consumer to make sure I am getting a good price.

The Estimator was punctual and efficient. Out of 3 estimates, Brothers was the lowest and the most comprehensive. The work crew finished the job in 4 days, working 10 hour days. When complete, the project manager, who was very professional and knowledgeable, reviewed the work with me to assure that I was satisfied. I am also going to replace my gutter shield with a different contractor. The Brothers project manager suggested that he return after that work is complete to once again inspect the roof and fix any damage that may have occurred. Now, that's Customer Service!
