I spent $50000 on the work I had done 3 years ago. I had to constantly follow up with the owner for them to be responsive. I love the decks and the fence.

We obtained many estimates before selecting this contractor. We selected them because they were professional, prompt, honest, and promised us a life time of service on the fence. The price we paid was a little more than other contractors but well worth it. When we told them about the competition they threw in free magnetic door latches on the two gates. The installers were very experienced and polite. The yard was left in spotless condition. We had other contractors out weeks after the fence was installed to do tree work who damaged two of the fence posts. We called & we had the damaged posts replaced without any cost to us within days. Highly recommend this company! Worth every penny based on our experience.

Based on their excellent Angie's List reviews, we decided to contact Mid Atlantic Deck & Fence Company to get an estimate on installing a privacy fence in our backyard. I called and talked to a receptionist, who promised me that a representative would get back to me soon to schedule a time and date. Almost a week later, a representative finally got back to me. He was very courteous and professional on the phone, and seemed willing to work around my wife and my work constraints for scheduling. He promised to be there by 11:30am so that we could leave for work by 12 noon. He didn't arrive until almost 11:45, but during the consultation was again courteous and professional. I thought we had a productive meeting, and he said that he would get back to us with an estimate "soon". A few days passed and we received no estimate. My wife then called and left a message, and they never returned her call or sent us an estimate. Needless to say, we have passed them over for installing our fence. Update July 23, 2011: These are the facts as I know them: * I first contacted Mid Atlantic Deck & Fence by phone sometime during the week of April 18 to schedule an estimate. I called from my work phone so I don't have a record of the exact date. I was told that a representative would contact me shortly. * I was not contacted back by a representative until Monday, April 25. We scheduled an estimate as detailed above. * The meeting went as described above. * After the meeting, we never received our estimate. An estimate may have been sent as described by the provider, but we could find no email in any of our inboxes or history. * On May 16, my wife called and left a 3 minute message inquiring about our estimate. We never received any communication back from this message. * By June 13 we still had not heard anything from the provider and I posted the original of this report. * On July 19 we finally received a mailed estimate from Mid-Atlantic, along with a request to take down this review. I believe this review is both fair and factual from my point of view. I did not rate them on price or quality, because I received no price and hence had no work done by them. Their punctuality and professionalism was "fair": They were a tad slow to respond to my initial request to schedule an estimate, mostly decent during the process, but then from my perspective their level dropped off after that. Not "good", but a "C" is still a passing grade. My experience with their responsiveness was "lousy". After we didn't receive the estimate we called to inquire about it, and received no call back. Overall then my experience was "bad", hence my report.

One of the salesman emailed me a scanned contract over the internet that had my credit card number, expiration date, full name, and security code on it. This was clearly a violation of my personal data. I had to close down the card and have my bank issue a new account. I was willing to continue to use Mid Atlantic Deck and Fence Company, but after my phone conversation with the owner (Bruce), it seemed to me that I was not being taken seriously. Because of this negligence and no offer of compensation, I was given no choice than to terminate any and all agreements to install the fence. I instead chose another fence company from Angie's List that agreed to not only match the price given by MID-ATLANTIC DECK & FENCE CO, but also cut 10% off and no deposit.

Bruce, the owner of the company, was involved all the way through the project. He provided the quote, and he showed up on installation day, to make sure that the crew knew what we wanted done. He followed up after installation was complete, just to make sure that we were satisfied, which we very definitely were. The installation crew (three men) was incredible!!! They had our fence up in five hours... I couldn't believe it. They were very friendly, yet all business. I was very much looking forward to our new fence, and they exceeded my expectations. I can't say enough good things about this company. GREAT JOB!!!

They did a good job. They had a lot of questions. The only con about them was that they didn't call me in advance to let me know they were coming. They showed up at my door 8 o'clock one morning. I did have a doctor's appointment later that day, but I was there in the morning. We just had 2 gates and a line of fencing to get put up because we had fences around us. They put it up by 3 o'clock that day. They got everything done in a timely manner. We did not pay them anything. We paid the contractor. The quality of service was good. They got the fence together in a short period of time. Punctuality was the only con because they didn't call in advance.

Frank estimated the job, arriving on time and giving a thorough description. The job was scheduled within three weeks and slated for a one-day installation at my request. On day of installation, the crew arrived 15 minutes early at 8:15 am with Gilbert in charge. After a walk around to determine certain details, I left and the crew of 6-7 began work. There was a slight issue with the underground drainage pipe on my property, requiring us to get my neighbor's permission to sink fence posts a bit inside her property line. Because I had to leave for work by 8:45 am but couldn't get neighbor on phone, I left my cell number with Gilbert. He called me shortly and had my neighbor there. She agreed. About an hour later the supervisor stopped by the job site and they discovered some clogging in drainage pipe. The supervisor called me at work and explained how the problem could be remedied, offering to speak with whomever might help me fix it in the future. By 2:30 pm, Gilbert called to announce job was completed. I came home, inspected and was very pleased. From start to finish, an excellent company whose price was competitive. A big plus for me was the fact that they have a same-as-cash, 6 month, no interest financing option through BB&T, so that I could put down the deposit and pay the balance over time. The fence looks great. I recommend MidAtlantic.

Great experience from beginning to end. Meeting Jon and receiving his estimate (great price), stopping by their showroom to close the deal, and most importantly, the installation of the actual fence. The three man crew got the fence installed in record time, cleaned the area completely, and left me with great cedar fence that will last for years. I was very very happy with the entire experience. I contacted the company and an employee came out to give a quote. We had discussed the perimeter fence and a smaller gate to keep my children from the A/C unit. The quote came in and I signed it. There was a bit of a problem in that I thought the smaller gate was in the original quote but it wasn't. I overlooked this and signed anyway. The workmen came out to install the fence and told me they didn't have the smaller gate to install. I contacted the company on numerous occasions through the mid-summer and had much difficulty getting a response or a returned call. However, when I contacted the president of the company and explained the situation, I got the smaller gate installed within days and they waived the cost of the gate. It all worked out in the end. They were very generous. Throughout the whole experience everyone in the company was very pleasant and courteous.

Mike from sales came by to survey our back yard and provide a written estimate, the most competitive quote among two other estimates. He listened to what we wanted, made sugestions, and allowed us to decide what we wanted. Upon delivery, Mid-Atlantic's crew was professional, courteous, and hardworking given the hot weather conditions mixed with intermittent rain. They completed installation and cleaned up all remaining material in one day. We would strongly recommend Mid-Atlantic for your fencing requirements.

We were very pleased with the company from start to finish. The estimate was reasonable and they were able to complete the installation within the time frame we wanted. We are very happy with the fence!

They were there in one day and completed the whole fence. Their price was very reasonable and I would use them again in the future.

I rejected the estimate and used another contractor.

They were an excellent company to deal with. Frank came out several times to update our estimate as we decided where we wanted the fence and gates to go. The installers came when promised and worked fast on a really warm day. The fence is beautiful and the gates work well. What more could we ask for? I had one concern over the height of the fence portion that went over a retaining wall but it turned out to be a non-issue with the dog so I let it go. I'm glad Frank talked us into the cedar to match our house. It's lovely!

My overall experience was excellent. The estimate was right on. The work was perfect.

I never heard back from any one when I sent my email. I would say that you need to call this company if interested, as I don't believe they monitor their e-mail.

The work went fine and we were happy with it. They were pretty quick and did it all in one day. We have recommended them to our neighbors. We would use them again if need be.

Mid-Atlantic had replaced the front sections of this fence, with taller, decorative fence, shortly after we moved into our house six years ago. They did great work both times. One of our dogs had started jumping the fence, and we needed something taller. Mike brainstormed with us about less expensive options for the rest of the fence. We didn't want a privacy fence, We back onto woods and the houses in our neighborhood are far apart. This fence is a great solution. It doesn't block our view of the woods and we can now leave our dog outside again. The work was almost completed in one day, though they came back the following day to finish a few details. My husband was cutting limbs off trees, so they wouldn't fall and damage the new fence, as they had the old one. A branch fell on the front section of the fence, the part we were keeping, and damaged it! Mid-Atlantic had a section of the same fencing in stock, and replaced it with no additional labor charge. They even cut down one last limb my husband hadn't been able to get, that looked likely to fall in the next storm. We couldn't be happier with our new fence. It's beautiful!

I called for an estimate and within a week had a person out to measure and give me an estimate. They were very willing to work with us to get exactly what we wanted. I wanted a maintenance free addition - this company used a "tube" to cover the support beams, and then covers all exposed wood with vinyl or aluminum. The workers were very efficient and very neat. They cleaned up every evening before leaving. Every piece of white railing was wiped clean before being put up, and all white cleaned before they were finished. I was impressed with the attention to detail. Work was completed on time.

They did a good job putting the fence up, it looks great. I have called them recently about coming out to repair the gate. It has been 3 weeks since I have called and no one has shown up to do the repair. They told me they are in the busy season and they would get out when they could.

They where two weeks late starting and never returned calls to inform me they where still coming. Work was done quickly, however workmanship was questionable. Some of the joints did not line up flush and some bolts and nails where left exposed.

This is my 2nd purchase from Mid-Atlantic. My 1st purchase was for aluminum fencing around the pool area. The fencing is beautiful and very functional. Our 2nd purchase was for vinyl-railing around the porch. I'm so glad I meet Rita. I was about to purchase the material from the local home improvement whse. Rita took the time and showed me the difference in the material. The vinyl railing, like the aluminum railng, is just plainly superior than what is sold at the local home improvement store.
