Everything turned out nicely. They arrived on schedule, completed the project in one day, and did a great job without leaving a mess.

Went very well. VRN Masonry is extremely customer focused and communicated well via Angie's list messenger (which worked all for me) and via phone. We met for 2 design phases. Clear cut estimate in which I confirmed our discussions. I was unsure of concrete steps or replacing with wooden steps that were previously there. VRN Masonry assisted in deciding and designing the concrete steps. The job was professional and the workers were did a great job. I would highly recommend. In addition the estimate was on par or below 3 other estimates.

Communications through Angie's List email made for very slow and ultimately fruitless results. We went through several scheduled appointments only to have them canceled. When I finally offered to send some photos after several weeks of missed opportunities (yes, I had to go out of town, but we hadn't scheduled anything yet, then it was rainy, then his truck broke down), Mr. P. then said he was too busy to do the work. I can't help but feel that the job was too little or of too little consequence for him to make any more efforts once I sent him the photos. At no point before that did he say that he was getting busy or was too busy. In fact, another contractor told me his schedule was too busy, so I didn't even consider that other contractor. I would have done the same with Mr. P.

Rui came over right away for an estimate. We talked about what we were trying to accomplish, and he recommended a low-cost option. There was definitely no overselling! Most others wanted to completely rebuild the patio, but Rui recommended that in our situation a simple repair should be adequate. That saved us many thousands of dollars.

He never had time to do the work-so we canceled the contract. He is a nice professional guy but seems to be over scheduled at the moment with other jobs.

I called and emailed VRN to get a quote. He sent me an email 34 minutes before our appointment, and said he cannot make it, and offered to stop by in the afternoon. I waited and waited. No show, no call, no email.

Provider gave estimate. Decided not to proceed.

Working with VRN Masonry has been a pleasure. A family business, they take pride in their workmanship- something that was apparent from the beginning to end of the project. The patio project morphed over time ? a misunderstanding regarding design initially - transformed into a beautiful stone addition to my home. I heartily recommend the company and am very glad I found them on Angie?s List.

They came on time, finished on time, and did an excellent job. What more is there?

They came out and repaired some brick steps that had broken and cracked from age and all the ice this winter. They were very responsive to emails and showed up on time. Actually called me a few days earlier because they has some extra time and offered to come earlier but we were not available. .. When they came out, there was more repair needed than we thought, and with no complaints or issues , all the bricks were replaced or repaired. Very happy with the work. Doing a full remodel...this may be the only part that actually went like it was supposed to and exceeded my expectations.

Rui came out promptly and gave us an estimate. We agreed, and he did a good job, a little later than he had said he would, but there was no particular reason to rush. All in all, I would recommend him to someone who wanted masonry repair.

They came to do the estimate the next day after I made contact with them. So a price was reached and they started work about a week and a half later (the delay was due to rain and other commitments). They began on a Tuesday and finished the following Tuesday - and that week included at least two rain days. They arrived promptly when they said they would and went immediately to work. Demolishing the existing patio was a lot of work but the job, including clean-up and haul away, was completed that first day. On the second day they came and dug out the mud pit at the end of the driveway in preparation for pouring cement. On Sunday they arrived and finished excavating both areas and building forms for the cement. On Monday morning, VRN and the cement truck arrived and both areas were poured and finished. On the following Tuesday, VRN arrived to remove the forms and haul away the last of the dirt and cement debris. I would like to note that the old patio included a walkway that extended from it to the back porch. As the patio sunk, so too did this walkway. When VRN was scoping out the job, the representative I spoke with said that the entire walkway did not have to be removed, but instead only half taken, and when the new patio and half walkway were poured, the walkway area could be used to transition the areas by blending the pitch and grade of the new area with the pitch and grade of the old, so that there were no trip-spots or odd looking areas. After the pour and finishing, the genius of that transition was evident. I have a smooth, continuous walkway now, something I thought I'd have to sacrifice unless I agreed to demolish the entire walkway. All together, this was a very professional job, done well. I commend VRN for their diligence and care in completing this job. I now have a properly graded patio and the mud pit at the end of the driveway is gone. I am very happy with their work. An excellent job well done!

VRN was extremely responsive when I called and showed up on time for the estimate. After I accepted their proposal they were clear on their schedule and worked promptly and with consideration for the other activities going on at the time. They reset my brick walk so that water would drain away from the house and did a beautiful job paving the walk and step with flagstone. Although the job was interrupted by rain they completed the job within my time window and I've received many complements form visitors and neighbors. If I have other needs I would not hesitate to call them.

Came out gave me a prompt estimate. Father and son showed up and did a very nice job of repairing the concrete. I had another contractor come out, the one who originally put the sidewalk in, and he said the job wasn't big enough for him to do. You can bet these guys will have any jobs in the near future and the neighbors are already asking for their names. Well done.

The job was adequate. I do not feel like the big deals really work and I never know if they truly take off $500 towards the job. I did not know if it was really a $1500.00 job because I did not get any other estimates and the colors of the grout do not seem to match well. The owner was excellent about communication since we had to re-schedule some. However, I have never had the work done before so I do not have much to compare it to. I did have him return to finish a small part of the pointing and he did come back. The pointing he did on the chimney did fix the leak problem I had and that was a difficult project.

I have attempted more than 2 times to get brick work done. He said that he was overwhelmed and he did not show up to an appointment.

The job went smoothly. The crew showed up promptly to demo the existing walkway and set the forms for the new one. After a brief, one day weather delay (it was a concrete pour after all) the crew showed up for the pour. It was done in two working days, just as estimated. It is a beautiful site and because the old walkway had a lateral crack and had settled flat near the end it puddled horribly when it rained. No more! We can walk to our front door without sopping wet feet! Thanks Rui and family!

Scheduling was easy. Work done well. Very pleased.

From scheduling to review of the work the service was outstanding. We got an honest assessment of what to expect and how to care for the work going forward.

After I purchased the deal, I had the contractor come over to give an estimate for preventative constructive work to mitigate flooding risks into the basement. He text me the scope and estimates that same evening. The estimates were 2-3 times what I was expecting for a relatively small masonry work. I will probably shop around for other deals and/or get estimates for the same work in the Fall.

Everything went exactly as I had hoped. Rui contacted me immediately after receiving my email and came out on a Saturday morning to provide me a quote. He then gave me a very reasonable estimate for two small jobs. He returned within a week to complete the job and it looks great. I would recommend him to anyone and I will call him again in the future for any other masonry projects I may have.

They were great! On time and very professional. They provided us with several options and price ranges. When we are ready to do this work we will certainly be hiring them.

We have developed a water problem in the house and are interviewing contractors. Rui was professional and listened to what I was proposing. He estimated according to our conversation. I am still not sure what the source of the water is and therefore cannot make a decision about going forward with the work. If we take the course that I discussed with Rui he would certainly be in contention of the job.

This company doesnt want to take the time to come out and give a quote. If they are that lazy, who needs them?

Everything went well. I initially emailed Rui through this site. He responded back very quickly. He came out on Saturday to look at the crack to see what he can do. He explained what my options were, and explained what they would do to repair the crack. The repair involved expanding the hairline cracks to make it easier to fill, and just filling in the entire crack with concrete. He did a good job of smoothly out the concrete and making it flush with the driveway. I would like to add that they originally scheduled to do the job on Saturday, but it was raining most of the day, so Rui and his father still came over to power wash the driveway between the raining. His father than returned on Sunday at 10 AM on the dot to perform the repair. I am sure its not very common for contractors to perform work on Sunday's, so I was very appreciative.
