Great! Met with Fred Gray, the president, shortly after finding his company on Angie's List. The initial meeting was quick and professional as Fred went around the house and identified areas in need of security, and then he clearly explained our options and his recommendations. Fred did not try to oversell his services but rather wanted to tailor it to our home's specific needs. Installation was set soon for after our decision to go with Ultra Guard, and it went off without a hitch. They gave us a trial period to figure out the in's and out's of the system before it went live. Good idea! We had interior work done on our house subsequent to the home security installation. A couple of the glass break sensors were tripped by the work and by the painters taping over them. We knew immediately about these alarms as we received emails as the system was designed to do. A simple call to Ultra Guard was all that was needed to have the glass break sensors temporarily turned off so that construction could continue without causing problems with the security system. Overall, experience with Ultra Guard has been professional and seamless from initial contact all the way through post installation support/services. We highly recommend Ultra Guard for your home security needs!

Once we decided to install a home security system, we did quite a bit of online homework, including checking Angie's list ratings and several other sources. We selected 3 highly rated companies to provide quotes - 2 local/regional and one national. Fred Grey, owner of Ultra Guard, personally visited to walk through our house, understand our interests and provide our quotation. Even on this first visit, he had his competitors beat on overall professionalism. Ultra Guard's prices were higher than the national chain, consistent with the other local/regional company, so it was a fairly easy decision for us as UGSS had clearly earned/inspired the greatest confidence from our experience to date. The installation team was equally professional - showed up on time, did what they said they would, were courteous and friendly throughout. Approximately 6 weeks in, the system has performed well and we have had no problems. I would recommend UGSS.

We had a great experience with ultraguard. Initially, I was impressed by Fred's thorough analysis of how we could make our home more secure and the alarm.com system. We have a lot of glass windows, however, and it was very expensive to add glass breaking sensors on all of the windows. Fred wrote up his estimate based on what he thought was the most secure, and when I looked at the proposal, I told him I liked his company but the pricing was too high. Fred worked with me to get the pricing within my budget and we decided to go with the company. They came very quickly to install and were very neat and professional. I underestimated how much we would use the alarm.com service (which allows you to turn the alarm on/off from your cell phone) and I am SO glad I went with this company because of this option. I probably forget to turn on my security system about 80% of the time, but because I usually remember about 10 minutes after leaving my house, I'm able to arm it anyway. I really feel like I am getting my money's worth since I actually remember to turn on the alarm. In addition, the people at Ultraguard have always been extremely helpful if I had to call in with questions.

I invited five different companies into my home to provide a summary of service and equipment options and corresponding cost. A number of the vendors took the unfortunate approach of crisis-visualization or what I would call fear-mongering rather than educating (e.g. "imagine you're out of town and your wife and child are home alone when a thug breaks in..."). Some of them were very professional and expensive. Some were anything but professional yet competitively priced. Fred from UG was professional and provided a competitive price. He wasn't the cheapest but cost was one of a number of considerations I weighed. The installers did a good job. There were a few issues early on with connectors not adhering properly or some of the sensors triggering a little too "sensitively". I fully expected little hiccups like this no matter which vendor I chose. Indeed, no system ever installs glitch-free. Where I feel Fred and his team at UG differentiate themselves is in how they responded to glitches. If I had an issue, Fred or a trusty designee was on it immediately. They were very responsive and had someone come back out to my house within a very short time frame and (most importantly) worked around my demanding schedule. Throughout the installation and adoption period, Fred micro-managed things until I was happy. I highly recommend UG. Their approach is customer-centric.

We learned about this company because one of our neighbors uses them. The president of the company, Fred Gray, was very responsive to my initial phone call and came out almost immediately to take a look. Within a day of his visit, we had an estimate sent to us by email, with different levels of options for us to choose from. Once we decided, he scheduled his guys to come out within a week. The guys he sent out to do the install were pleasant, knowledgeable and thorough! They were cognizant of the effect on the look of the room or window and made sure to get our opinion when it mattered. They cleaned up after themselves and took the time to show us everything and explain the workings in detail, as well as left us with signs and stickers for our perimeter. Fred makes sure to follow up with us periodically afterwards to make sure that we are happy with the system, and their office folks have been super helpful and pleasant whenever I call with questions. We love UGSS because they are so technologically available - Fred's quick to respond to emails and phone calls, as are his staff. And, our system sends us notifications online and on our phones through Alarm.com, which makes us feel better when we're away! I would highly recommend UGSS to anyone in the DC metropolitan area!

Took time to explain and everything worked well. My only problem is that he gave us nothing in writing and, when my husband asked for a manual, he promised to send something. We never received it.

This company is unbelievable! Unmatchable customer service that only begins once the system is installed. Small company which means terrific service direct from owner, without compromising all the technology and sophisticated products of bigger operations. Competitive pricing (better or equal to 3 other estimates I sought). Great system with loads of bells and whistles. But truly the best part is the customer service and responsiveness. Just today I had a small problem with my panel. I emailed Fred Gray (the owner) expecting to hear back tomorrow (as today is a holiday). I had a return phone call within 5 minutes (all before 8 am). Terrific! You can't go wrong with UltraGuard!!!!They are great and the products they use are top of the line!

From my first phone call on, everyone at Ultra Guard was polite, professional, and prompt. The walk-through of my house and assessment of our needs was thorough and all questions were answered. The estimate was good with no pressure. The installation was prompt and the technicians were courteous and quick! I would recommend them to anyone.

The salesman really knew what he was doing and the technicians were courteous and vacuumed up after themselves. Anna the office manger set up my Alarm.com account and walked me through all the paperwork. They trained me on how to use the system and made it very easy on our family. Ultra Guard Security is a professional company and I strongly recommend them.

Good estimate, arrived on time, did the work as prescribed. Would use them again in a nanosecond and would not hesitate to refer them.

We contacted Ultraguard based on a neighbor's recommendation and the stellar reports from Angie's List. We were previous customers of a competitor. We would have stuck with them after our move, but we got "sticker shocked" with their estimate, which prompted us to comparison shop. Fred Gray, the owner was nice to meet with us personally on a weekend to assess our property and give his recommendations. He was prompt, and likeable, and his no nonsense approach was refreshing. The appeal of a smaller, customer service focused company was strong. Not to mention the impressive product capabilities. We were amazed at the expansive automation capabilities the wireless system offered. It is something we would like to add-on in the future. The next day, Fred e-mailed us a proposal as promised. To be honest, we expected a much less expensive quote as it was comparable to the competitor's. But Fred ultimately sold us on his personal service. He was simply pleasant to deal with. And I must say, the rest of his crew has been really outstanding so far, too. Anna, the secretary is so responsive and just on it. She doesn't seem to miss a beat. The installers we dealt with, Carl, Rafiq, and Scott have been prompt, professional, and nice to work with, too. Carl and Rafiq came the first day to install most of the system. Carl ran through the list to make sure he had what was ordered. He gave location options for the sensors and explained exactly how they work. He gave a quick tutorial at the end of the day. Scott came back a week later to install an additional sensor that we decided to add to the order. After testing out the system now for about a week and comparing it to their competitor's system, which we used to have, the competitor's equipment does seem slightly fancier in looks and maybe more expensive in quality. But having said that, Ultraguard's automated features are something that I am not sure the competitor has. And it is reassuring to be able to put a face with who would be calling us if our alarm is set off. (Carl said that sometimes he is the person on call at the monitoring station.) There is really something to be said for dealing with a smaller company. I would recommend this company to anyone.

Angie's List proved it's value to me once again when I chose Ultra Guard from the top-rated security firms. I called during the Christmas / New Year's holiday period and Bob responded to my call and came to my home to propose a system that would meet our requirements. Since I already had used a security system for many years, I knew what I wanted and Bob contributed serveral helpful suggestions. We agreed on the system design and features and Bob forwarded a proposal via email within a couple days. Due in great part to my intial discussion with Bob and Anna's responsiveness and competence when I contacted the office, I become increasingly comfortable with the choice I was about to make. I have been doing nearly all of my home maintenance myself for over 40 years and my wife and I value a job well done more than getting the lowest price. I can't say how Ultra Guard's prices compare with others' because I felt comfortable with my first choice and did not contact others for bids. However, the price as compared to what I paid 20 years ago made me believe that the proposal was reasonable. I agreed with the proposal via email and scheduled the installation appointment for a few days later. Carl and Rasiq arrived right on time even though we had received some snow overnight. They were very pleasant and proved to be very professional in their trade as Bob had said they would be. I wanted a keypad on the 2nd floor and the control panel in the basement. We had planned to use one wired and two wireless keypads but GE delayed the availability of the wireless version and Bob agreed that they would wire them at no additional charge. This involved quite a bit of additional labor that was performed exceptionally well. Carl and Rasiq did things the way I wanted them done and did so to my total satisfaction. A couple days after the installation, I decided that I wanted to silence the keypad on the second floor because the tones were too loud for being just outside the bedrooms. (By the way, I would highly recommend a keypad on the bedroom level - it is a great improvement over what I had before with only a portable keypad that had no status display.) I called the office and Anna put me in touch with Carl. He told me step-by-step what to do and the keypad is now silent. I really like the GE Concord system and, as for Ultra Guard, they get all top marks from me!

Robert of Ultra Guard came to review the residence and recommend a system. The original quote was more than we expected to pay, however, Robert was willing to work with me to get the price within a comfortable range, without compromising the security provided by the system. The recommended system was planned with optimizing security, not adding as many components as possible. Robert was willing to say if he felt a component was not necessary. Scott came out to install and was on time. He worked non-stop with only one short break, which was well deserved. He made sure to keep the amount of mess from drilling and cutting to install components to a minimum, made sure to clean up and left no trace behind. The wiring and installation was left neat and well organized. Scott also spent time to explain the system, which is the easiest to use alarm system I have had. The day after the install, I called Ultra Guard with a question about my system. The phone was answered immediately and I received a call back with a complete answer quickly. My experience to date has exceeded my expectations of customer service and technology.

We are still thinking about it. We got a few quotes. They were responsive and professional. They were good and they did what they were supposed to do.

We recently moved into a home with an existing security alarm system. Ultra Guard was wonderful at making sure I understand the system I inherited with my house. I felt like I could ask the same questions over and over again until I actually felt that I understood the answer. Everyone was very kind, friendly, and patient. I was also very impressed that when I told them I wanted to activate the existing system ASAP due to my husband leaving town, they completely understood and I felt that they made it a priority to activate the alarm within the time period I gave them (one week). Furthermore, the company recommended that I upgrade my entire system. When I told them that we do not have the money right now, they focused on activating that current alarm without pushing me to invest in something new. When we have the funds to upgrade, I have confidence that this company will work within our budget and make me feel empowered in the decisions I make to protect my family and home.

They were very professional. I really liked the presentation. The guy we dealt with provided us a lot of information. He was on time. He was prompt. It was pretty much everything I was expecting out of a professional. In all probability, I think, we will end up using them. We will consider using them in the future.

I got an estimate from them that was on the high side of the other quotes but we liked the slaes rep and their price was not the priciest. Their system had more features in it than the competition and was able to add a camera in the future if we wanted. They brought the price down on the system as a whole but did it by bringing down the price of the single component I was questioning on getting (the Alarm.com gateway)..... so if I got that, I would get a good price, but if I did not get that then the system would still have been uncompetatively priced...In the end they installed the system. Upon the system run through we found that the keypad had to be replaced because of a faulty display. They did this the next day.

We have been using Fred Grey and Ultra Guard for well over 20 years now. The name has changed as they have added services, but I can tell you this is a A1 operation. We currently use their system in (5) of our buildings and would not use anyone else. The technician I am most acquainted with is Andy, who not only knows the systems, but is a super pleasant person. This past service call we made was to locate why the alarm control would just start beeping. Instead of Andy coming out, he called us back and walked us through reprogramming to reboot the defaults settings. No more beeps !!!!! AAA +

Fred Gray and Ultra Guard came highly recommended to me. After having Fred out to do a walkthrough of the house (it was an extensive renovation & addition) I can see why. Fred was very thorough in his explanation of what we needed and why. He priced out the system and his proposal was very competitive. We came to an agreement and Ultra Guard began the wiring process. Their employees were on-time and professional. They made one small error in where they ran a wire but corrected that within hours of being notified. Their system installer was equally good and efficient. I am very pleased with their service from start to finish and would not hesitate to reccomend Fred Gray and Ultra Guard Security.

I thought it was a little expensive. It was a very good presentation and we are very strongly considering them for the future. I was very impressed by them. He comes highly recommended, I just haven't done anything yet.

Excellent. I've used UltraGuard personally and for my 4 offices for many years so I KNOW how good they are. They're on time, efficient, pleasant to deal with and are eager to please the customer. The owner, Fred, is accessible and will spend a lot of time finding out what you want and explaining all the details of the job. They're the best!

I have been happy with them. It has turned out very well.

We have had them for many years and have not had any problems; however when the power goes out we do have to reset the system. They were responsive when we have had false alarms in the past.
