Pure Excellence, I am writing this review with regards to the excellent level of service I received from Deck Master. From the first minute Mr Ugalde came in my house, he was transparent, professional, and concerned that my Family will be satisfied with the work he will provide us with. They exceeded by far our expectations, we can’t wait for the weather to get nice so we can enjoy our deck more, I will recommend them to anybody who wants to build or get some work done to his Deck. I highly recommend Deck Master, AND I WILL USE THEM AGAIN

The company has been backed up on scheduling projects because of all of the rain we have been having, but the crews did nice work at a competitive price. I highly recommend this firm.

Very positive experience with DeckMaster. I thought all my deck boards needed to be replaced, but the estimator showed me that the majority just need to be cleaned. No attempt to upsell me. One team came out to clean and replace the broken boards and then Carlos came out to sand and stain everything. He did an amazing job and I'm really pleased with his work. My only complaint is that it was difficult to book a date for the sanding/staining after they conducted the initial cleaning. It took about 3 weeks.

Received an email confirming the appointment. Hi Ryan, Great thank you. You are all set for Sept. 22nd. By the way, there is an opening between 10-12 on the same day. Let us know if you want to keep it between 8am-10am or if you want to take 10-12pm arrival time instead. Thanks, DeckMaster Inc. They never called or arrived for the appointment. I guess business is going so well they don’t need new work.

Kind of a weird experience. We paid the deposit, heard that we would get a call before work began (as scheduling was contingent on weather), but after a few weeks I called to check where we were in line and was told we would be notified soon. Came home the next day and the first part was done. They protected my house but my neighbor's house got sprayed when they were cleaning mine and we weren't able to wash it off with a regular hose. When they did the second part (also showed up with no notice), they disconnected our HVAC and didn't tell us and we didn't know, so we had to have our HVAC company come out to fix the problem as it was 90 degrees and we have small children and pets and they found that a wire had been snipped and the HVAC had been unplugged. It was definitely DeckMaster that did it because we have a camera showing who goes onto the property and then we have a smart thermostat that shows what the temperatures are in the house at what time, and the temperature started rising around the time they arrived. When I told DeckMaster, they just said "Thanks for telling us" (no apology for leaving us without AC for a day). The deck itself looks fine but it was such a weird experience with non-existent communication and sloppy work (getting the neighbor's porch dirty and disconnecting/severing our HVAC wires somehow) that I would not recommend.

They did a great job overall. Only short cut they took was painting over the house #s. Other than that it looks great.

We selected the company in a large part because of their Angie's List ratings. We needed deck cleaning, deck and fence staining and deck repairs done. Getting the work scheduled was a challenge, but it was no fault of theirs. The weather was just not cooperating with all the rain we had! Once it was scheduled, they showed up as promised, working when we were not at home and completed the repairs and cleaning. They returned again to complete the 2 color staining and Carlos and crew put in a very long day to get it completed. A follow-up visit occurred where Carlos came and completed touch up work. We are very pleased with the results. The deck really turned out beautiful! Job well done. We would hire them again.

Deckmaster rebuilt our 25-year-old deck in 2014. Their attention to detail is second to none. Their carpenters are artisans, mitering every corner to a precision of 1/8". We had this deck resealed this spring, and it looks as good as new. My only suggestion is to make an appointment well in advance of when you want the work done. They're extremely busy, and there's obviously a good reason for that.

They came out quickly to get the deck resurfaced and called to authorize the replacement of a joist that needed replacing. We did run into some trouble with getting the power washing and staining done quickly (we were looking to sell) but once we mentioned that the gentleman who did the estimate promised it would be done in a certain timeframe they had people within a few days to complete the work as promised. It was well done and really made the backyard look amazing.

William and his coworker were punctual, professional, and did a wonderful job cleaning and restoring my old deck that was over 20 years old! They also had to replace a few boards that were too damaged to save. They left everything clean and neat. I high recommend them and would definitely use them again. Thanks for bringing my deck back to life!!!

The team showed up on time and did a great job cleaning, sanding and painting my deck. The team chief (Luis, Van#7) and the whole team were friendly and professional. I would use them again and recommend them to my friends.

Excellent contractor-- I would definitely hire again. They were punctual, coordinated well on project dates. They came out, did the task, did it to high quality and exactly what we wanted. We had an older deck which required some board replacement as well as repainting (and underside painting-- we have carpenter bees in area that we're trying to keep away. They did a great job. I'd use them again and would recommend them to people in the area.

Deckmaster crew did an excellent job from start to finish. The company reps were always available and accommodating to owner's needs. The workmanship, professionalism and attention to detail were all excellent. Oscar the crew leader managed his workers extremely well. I woukd highly recommend Deckmasters for any work on porches and decks.

They are a very professional company. I felt they were very honest with me on what needed to be done and gave me options which I appreciated. They were very patient with my concerns along the way and went out of their way to come and talk with me to resolve any questions. The workers were extremely professional and did an excellent job. I am hiring them back for their maintenance program. I would definitely recommend hiring this company.

After the job was done, we found that in some areas the stain was too thin, perhaps because it rained later that day. David L came to see the job, agreed that it needed to be redone, and DeckMasters made it right. I very much appreciate that commitment to good work. The job could have been performed better but I would rate it as having been done adequately. The communication was not great as we saw/talked to the project manager only at the time of the initial estimate visits. No follow up was performed to make sure the job was completed as per the initial request and I had to call them back to make sure that some minor touch-ups were completed. Overall, as indicated in the rating if price is the primary consideration then this company might be a good choice but I am not sure I would use them again.

Reasonably priced and excellent customer service. Yelka and David did a great job of keeping us updated on the status of the work and promptly answered our questions. We didn't even have to be home for any of it, which was very convenient.

I would say they did pretty good, I've been pretty happy with them. I think their price is pretty competitive considering the work they did. So far it seems to be pretty good. They were very responsive. They were on time.

After they washed the deck, it looked almost new. A week later, they return to stain the deck. Everything looks very nice and I was pleased with their work. The yard around the deck was really muddy after the deck was washed so they must have used a lot of water.

It was an excellent experience. From the initial phone call, to getting the estimate, to the impressive work done by the crew, everyone we dealt with was helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The crew did an outstanding job.

Great! They were responsive, and arrived on time for the estimate. He walked me through their process and how he obtained the price. They were able to do the first step of cleaning a week later, but the staining took a little longer due to weather delays. They were in and out quickly and moved things out of the way for us. Deck looks great!

The project manager came to assess our deck and was able to provide a few options on how to revive an aging deck. A crew came out to clean and pressure wash the deck. Unfortunately when the time came to finish the deck, it rained. Jose came out to assess whether the deck could be stained, but Jose informed me that the wood was too wet. He delayed staining the deck to let the wood dry out, so the wood would absorb the stain. I appreciated that Jose recognized that the conditions were not optimal to finish the job, and delayed the project. He refused to do a sub par job. A few days later Jose brought his crew, and got to work, first sanding the deck, seating the deck nails, and securing any loose boards. Once that was finished, the crew stained the deck. Our deck looked better than it has since I have owned the house. These guys are real professionals, that take pride in their work. I will be hiring them in a few years to maintain the deck.

David, the project manager came out and assessed the situation. Everything he looked at and taped off (as a marking of work needing to be done), were exactly what I felt needed to be done as well (e.g. there was no over-selling or up-selling by David). David suggested that the stairwell be secured by adding another post and cementing it into the ground. They replaced 14 boards, which were measured/cut//inserted perfectly. Next step on a different day was a low pressure power wash to clean and remove old stain. Final step on different day was sealing the deck. The sealing job did not turn out well and may have been rushed by the team. It looked pretty awful and started crack and peel just after 2 weeks. I called the office to let David know and he came over to assess the work. It was great talking to David, in that he saw exactly what I saw... and felt the same way... it did not look professional and wasn't up to par. David brought a team back to sand all the boards (both new and old) and reseal them. Now the job turned out as beautiful as I had originally hoped for. I've got to say, that Deckmaster is a company that I would highly recommend. A sign of a good company is not only that they have the know-how to perform the work, but, that in the event that something goes wrong, that they are willing to stand behind their work. Deckmaster (David) is very attentive to customer satisfaction and quality. They have business ethics and were reasonable to deal with (as was I). The office staff were always pleasant, kept me abreast of dates that the crews were to show up, and the crews showed up right on time. David was great to work with and as a representative of the company is definitely in the right role! Very satisfied customer. Thanks Deckmaster!!
