We received an over the phone estimate for the "simple move" and set up the date and requested time of arrival. The crew of three was on time, courteous, and efficient. The move took about an hour longer than I thought had been estimated, but everything went well. The only minor nitpicks I can think of is that Town & Country took a bit longer to reply to my initial website-based contact than I expected, and one or two smaller items wound up in the wrong room. But the crew was very efficient, working pretty much without pause, and did an amazing job of getting a couple of large, awkward pieces downstairs without damaging the walls. They represented their company well. The total cost, though higher than some competitors' quotes, actually came out a little less than the estimate. We were very pleased and would definitely use them again.

An outstanding experience. Orlando's team was totally professional and substantially relieved our stress relating to the move. Process began with comprehensive estimate and information session approximately one month before move. John Grimsley, the consultant knew exactly what was needed to get the job done. Company was extremely responsive and helpful when we had follow-up phone questions. Carpenters came one day before to dismantle large cabinet/wardrobe and worked expertly and meticulously. Same was true when they returned to re-assemble that furniture. Moving day went more smoothly than we could have imagined. The crew showed up early (they knew we were concerned about working within condo's time frame), took a fast tour of the house and then proceeded to work carefully and efficiently. They handled some unexpected tasks and made us feel that nothing was a problem they could not handle. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.

Overall we were pleased with the services provided by Town and Country. The estimate was based on total pounds and the price was comparable to the other 4 estimates we received (it was the highest but only by a $150). Based on the positive reviews on this site and the positive interaction with the woman providing the estimate, we chose Town and Country. They were able to book us for a long distance move with only 10 days advance notice. Everything was packed professionally and nothing was damaged in the move. Packers took about 4 hours the first day and the second day a different crew loaded everything in about 6 hours. They worked with our schedule and delivered our furniture 5 days later. Only complaint is that during loading, the stairway walls in our basement were significantly scuffed by floor mats. We had requested the movers haul the mats through the walkout basement but they chose to take them out through the main entrance. The scuffs were not permanent but it was an inconvenience.

This is the best moving company I have ever hired. I found them on Angie's List, and coincidentally, they had also done a move for a friend of mine in November 2009. Every single person I came in contact with--the person who answered the phone, the representative, Chris Plummer, and each of the movers--was absolutely professional, kind, and very efficient. They were on time and worked really quickly. There were a couple of scratches on a table, but overall, everything was moved very carefully and wrapped well, and they packed EVERYTHING. I so rarely run across a company that provides such exceptional service. I cannot recommend Town & Country highly enough.

The moving crew arrived on time at 8:30 PM and were finished by 11:00 am. They moved everything that they were allowed to move. No breakage or damages resulted from the move. The crew were professional and courteous from start to finish.

This isn't a typical testimonial. I'm a REALTOR that has been working full time for more than 20 years. I've referred Town & Country Movers to many clients - at least 10. They handled my personal move as well. All of my clients have been happy with price and services provided. In many cases, Town & Country was the low bid as well. I gave them a B for professionalism primarily because their trucks aren't professionally painted & lettered with the company logo, etc and the movers don't really show up in uniforms. It's a minor point. Their prices have always been reasonable. If I have to pay more to get trucks that are all nicely lettered and movers in uniforms, I think I'd rather save the money. I have had bad experiences with other movers that I won't recommend. Bottom line... While I don't know if Town & Country is the best mover out there, they are certainly good enough to include on the list of movers you talk to any time you make a move.

Excellent work. Only two tiny damages, which have been quickly addressed. Staff was very careful with all our furniture and made a special crate for a stained glass panel about which we were worried.

Great Experience from beginning to end. Selected them from Angie's list. Recvd a reasonable estimate and selected Town and Country for the move and for boxes. The boxes were delivered when I requested and placed neatly in my garage. My home was being packed one day and delivered the next day. The day before my packing a big snowstorm was announced for the east coast. I spoke with Town and Country and they assured me that the delivery would take place. As it turns out the movers drove directly to New York after packing me so that they could be there before the storm. The next day I was unpacked just as the snow arrived to NY. Maryland was already covered in 12+ inches. As we would have been, had they not got on the road immediately after loading the truck. The loading process was absolutely professional. My old house and my new home were treated with respect. There were no knicks or scuffs to any walls. I had 198 boxes and no breaks. I would use them again. They were both professional and kind. What a joy to work with. I had a stress free move.

Town & Country came to do an estimate. The gentleman was professional and friendly. The estimate was reasonable compared to a competitor's quote. And their long history in the area, as well as high ratings on Angie's List, convinced us to use them. They delivered moving boxes as promised at reasonable rates. They showed up for our move (a few minutes early!) and did an excellent job moving a lot of stuff down two sets of stairs and back up another set at our new house. The team was the right size, and they worked very hard all day.

They had a good crew to pick up our furniture. They took most of the day to load things and were done by about 4 o?clock. They gave us a schedule and were right on time. They delivered the furniture to our vacation home in Georgia. Everything went well. Our experience with them was very good.

They are excellent! They were quite efficient. They also came in and packed everything for us. They packed everything in one day, and loaded everything the next day.

The pick up was quite well done, although I realized when things were delivered that they did not wrap well my antique furniture and there was some damage. Overall, the packing was okay. The crew that picked up, however, was much more skilled than the one that delivered. The delivering crew did not show great skill in reassembling the furniture which had been disassembled by the first crew for the move. It would have been much better to have the same crew. My biggest problem with Town and Country, however, was over the price. They wanted to charge me 2/3 over the estimate they gave me for storage. I spoke to the company president and we compromised on the final figure but it was not pleasant for me.

They were prompt and courteous. Nothing broke, everything arrived intact. They put everything back. They were just very efficient and good. I would hire them again.

The company provided us with an estimate for packing and moving everything. The estimator was very professional and had done the estimate for the house to which we were moving the week before, so he was familiar with our destination. We did nearly all of our own packing, so we saved about $3,500 from the estimate. The crew arrived five minutes early and started immediately while the crew chief clearly explained how the day was going to go. Day one was loading the trucks and it took eight hours to load and finish whatever packing we neglected to do. They did not nick or dent any of our valuable stuff and I really do not see any indication of any damage. Day two was loading us in our new house. Again, the crew worked steadily and hard. Getting the pinball machines into the basement was particularly challenging, but they did it without a nick or dent in the tables or in my new house's walls. There was one Problem though, and the manner in which Town and Country handled this problem really impressed me. Town and Country had hired a subcontractor to disassemble the pool table for moving. The Pool Table "expert" was the only problem with this move. He did not take the pool table apart in enough pieces to move it into my new basement. He claimed that he had broken the pool table down into as small a set of items as he could. Anyway, the movers tried to get the pool table frame into the basement, but could not. The Pool Table "expert" was also rude to the crew and to me. So, I had a very carefully protected premium pool table sitting in my new garage in pieces. I called a real pool table expert that I found through a Google Search. While on that initial phone call, he had me go to the garage, look at the underside of the pool table frame and describe what I saw. He then told me that the pool table frame could indeed be broken down further and that, for $300, he would move and reassemble my pool table in my new basement. I hired the guy and he did just as he said he would. Now, here's the important part...when the real expert had finished his job, I wrote a letter describing this experience as well as requesting a refund of the $300.00 I had just spent to do the job the fake "expert" should have done. I faxed the letter, along with the receipt, to the President of Town and Country. Within 10 minutes (I kid you not) he was on the phone with me and I received a check the next day.

We chose this company over two others we interviewed, specifically because of 35-40 positive ratings and service award they received from responders on Angie's list. The estimated costs of all three movers were within $200 of each other, so cost was not a major factor. However, our service experience did not entirely match up to what we had read. After the initial walk-through on packing day, not all of the packers followed our directions or preferences. Some items turned up in "mystery" boxes with mixed items. Other boxes were mislabeled and it was difficult to locate some things. While there was no major breakage, many furniture items had additional nicks, scratches and dents at the end of the move. Of course, the movers were careful to point out all the pre-existing dents and nicks to us before they packed or wrapped anything. I had been told that there would be lots of protection for our walls and floors at each end of the move, but there was only minimal protection for our marble floors at the old residence, and brand-new hardwood floors at our new residence. In addition, one of my evening-wear skirts was trampled (visible footprints) and thrown in the bottom of a wardrobe without the packer owning up to his mistake. I made a claim for the drycleaning and submitted all the information asked for, and still have not received reimbursement to date.

So far, they have been excellent. They have been on time and their professionalism is good. The work should be completed towards the end of October.

They were on time, pleasant and were hard workers. We had our stuff packed and ready to move. All the boxes were med and small and the contents was marked. We wanted to make it as easy as possible, so all they had to do was move.

It was extraordinary. As frustrating as moving can be it went great. They did what they said they would do. They communicated well. Their prices were reasonable. Overall, I would highly recommend without reservation.

They were on time, professional, and an absolutely pleasure to work with. Additionally, they supplied the materials necessary in order to make sure there was no damage to any of our items. As an aside, we just had our flooring replaced and when the workers put our bed back together, the frame was not properly constructed so that our box spring was secured. The Town & Country Movers assisted my husband in correcting this problem. We would not hesitate to recommend them to friends/family or use their services again.

I can't say enough good things about them . They were very professional and helpful throughout the process. When I moved to DC from Boston I tried to go cheap and I will never do that again. You should definitely use Town & Country Movers.

I initially contacted Town & Country via email, at night, when I was selecting a mover for this project. By 8:30 the next morning I had received both an email response and a call from their moving consultant, Mr. Parler. He was very professional and immediately instilled confidence. He prepared an estimate for me based on a list of items to be moved that I provided. A comprehensive package of written information soon followed. My questions were always answered promptly and courteously. Their price was in line with other estimates I received. However, since I called them based on Angie's List, they gave me upgraded insurance at no cost (about a $125 value). About a week before the move, the scheduler called me to let me know what time they would arrive for the pick-up. The move had to be coordinated with building management since it was a high rise and the freight elevator had to be reserved. The driver called the morning of the move to confirm his arrival time. They came about 10 minutes early which was not a problem. The three man crew was courteous and professional. Every piece of furniture was carefully wrapped in blankets and then completely covered in plastic wrap. They worked very efficiently. I had packed all the boxes myself. However, they felt the mirror boxes needed more protection. They placed those inside a second box. Everything was inventoried. The building management was so impressed with the crew they asked for a business card! The next day Town & Country delivered everything to the apartment in Virginia. Again, they were right on time and everything was unloaded, unwrapped, and put in place with the same efficiency, courtesy, and care. The movers offered to rearrange any items I wanted changed. Everything was finished in just two hours! And before leaving, the driver reviewed the list of everything that was moved with me. He explained that I had 30 days to contact them regarding any damage I found. The building management at this location also commented on how efficient they were. It's been 4 days since the delivery and I've unpacked and looked over everything. I couldn't even see a fingerprint! Wow - what an excellent job! They couldn't have done anything better. Town & Country certainly made my life easier.

Very well, although they showed up with an extra guy which cost me more money than I thought it would. This now gives me concern the more I think about it. Was the trade off in less time versus the additional worker worth it.

Excellent company. Estimator was professional, on-time and helpful with all follow-up questions, and their price estimate was below the other companies we considered. Movers showed up on time. One packed the kitchen while the others started moving furniture to the trucks. They were courteous, efficient, and helpful. They tried to accommodate us where things didn't fit as we expected. Nothing was damaged or broken. The move took just about as long as estimated, and there were no additional or hidden charges.
