The packing was marvelous and the crews were exceptionally friendly, helpful and worked very hard. The pickup was done well. The only negative thing about the experience was that the driver during delivery was a bit overbearing but the delivery was on time almost to the minute.

We contacted 3 moving companies to get estimates for our move from Warrenton, VA to Wake Forest, NC. Town and Country was recommended by a couple who had used them twice to move and we selected them based on this recommendation, their Angie's List rating, and the positive vibes I got from Jackie Davis during the initial house visit. We were not disappointed. In fact this was the best move we've ever had and we had moved 11 times before this one. We had originally scheduled our move for early September, but a snafu with the sell of our house forced us to delay the move. The scheduler at Town and Country worked with us to postpone the move until we could sell the house. Once we had a new sell date, we contacted Town and Country and set up a new door-to-door move with them. Our movers on both ends were the most professional movers we have ever worked with. At no time did they complain about any part of the moving process, even when they had to take our piano out of the house and into the garage when we found it wouldn't fit in the new house. We did most of our packing, but they packed our grandfather clocks and several large brass rubbings we had from England. They packed these so well I commented you could drop them from a C-130 and they probably wouldn't break. I highly recommend Town and Country and would use them again if I ever moved again, but since we're never going to move again this is unlikely for us.

What stood out to me most was the professionalism of the workers; they were very courteous and polite and just very good overall. They worked at a very steady pace. The word that just keeps coming to .me is courteous. They were very solicitous, too, and after they'd completed the move they asked us if everything was in the right place. They were everything all of the Angie's List reviews said. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

The 2 trucks and 6 workers arrived just a little early and worked until mid afternoon without stopping. Their work was quick, efficient, and considerate. They handled a baby grand piano quite well - knew just what to do in taking it apart and restoring it at the end of the move. We found no damage to the furniture. The company lived up to its reputation of quality.

I packed all boxes ahead although arranged for the movers to handle boxing electronics. On moving day the movers were wonderful. Heavy boxes were hauled from all over the house, requested packing was done carefully. Even items such as vacuums and garden equipment were boxed by them. All furniture was blanketed and bubble wrapped with great care. All items were inventoried and a copy given to me. Our belongings were loaded directly into pods on their truck and taken to their Gaithersburg storage facility. When we knew a closing date, I called and got the exact date I wanted for delivery. They arrived at 9 AM as promised despite a 3-4 hour drive from MD. Unloading was just as efficient. The inventory (219 items) was carefully checked as they unloaded. All furniture was unwrapped and reassembled. Items were placed as directed. I didn't lose anything and nothing was broken including multiple glass panels of a display cabinet which had been wrapped panel by panel. Every single employee I dealt with was gracious and helpful. Everything was done as arranged and my cost was just as promised. I have heard many nightmare stories about movers. These guys were a dream! I highly recommend them.

Everything was very good. They were actually 2 minutes early. The day and time we agreed on they were here. Nothing was broken. We will definitely used them again.

Everything went as planned as had been described by the estimator who came to our apartment at no cost. I was impressed by the amount of the packing material used as well as by the quality of the packing material. Town and Country packed and moved our 48" flat screen TV without a problem or a scratch. We have some large and heavy pieces of furniture -- everything was well-cared for and came though in fine condition.

I've used this company for a move back in 2001 so I wanted to work with them again. However, I wasn't impressed with the person who provided the estimate. They quoted over $2k more than the two other estimates I received. I called and told them about the price difference, so they said they'd try to rework it and was still $1k off. The estimator seemed very inexperienced. I suspect they overestimated due to lack of experience, but mostly I was put off by their meek demeanor and lack of interest. I never received a follow-up call or email asking about my decision. Not a good experience.

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND YOUR QUESTION ABOUT WORK PERFORMED ON A CAR.....NO WORK WAS DONE ON THE CAR BY tOWN AND cOUNTRY MOVERS!!!! We drove the cars to the then new location.

On time, efficient, hard-working, pleasant, honest, reliable. It was a great experience and I highly recommend them.

They did an outstanding job. The movers were smart and efficient with their time.

Overall, the move went well. The crew worked hard and were careful with our items. We did not have anything damaged. Some of the boxes were left in the wrong rooms, even though they were labelled, but those were just minor issues. We had received an estimate that we were told would be worst case scenerio, so we were expecting a little bit less. However, they ended up needing the whole time. Overall, just some minor issues, but work was done well.

These guys were workhorses! They were prompt, efficient, and professional. Better yet, they stayed true to the estimate. They unloaded a townhouse and a storage unit and reloaded it into a three story home all within an eight hour period. We tested them with double wide wardrobes on curving steps and they came through with flying colors. I would absolutely hire them again and recommend without hesitation.

Movers showed up and began working right away. They closed boxes and packed up anything I had missed. The efficiently moved everything into the truck, traveled and quickly unpacked. They put the furniture that they had taken apart back together (like the bed).

Their customer service was good, and both crews at both ends of the move were great. Nothing got broken.

T&C came to my house to do an estimate. Since I was only moving 1/2 of the belongings in the house, they came on-site so they could write down exactly which items I would be moving. Their estimate was comparable to other companies I was looking at. The big difference, however, is that they guaranteed they would would be there with my belongings on 10/1, whereas other companies game me a 1-2 week window. (in fact, once I was in Vermont, he actually asked if he could deliver it earlier! - But my apartment was not ready yet so I had to decline.) I packed up most of my stuff in my house myself but left the tricky stuff to them. They did an excellent job packing those things. In addition, they wrapped all my furniture in blankets to protect it and sealed things that were not tight enough. They packed everything and loaded up the truck in 2 hrs. When I expressed concern over my stuff getting mixed up with other things in the truck, the Team Leader showed me the dividing wall in the truck that would keep that from happening. When they were done loading, he game me a checklist of every item and box that was loaded on the truck so I could compare it to what was delivered. Every item was numbered and corresponded with a number on the checklist. It was the first time I had ever done an interstate move so I had been very nervous about sending all my possessions away with strangers. However, after working with the Team Leader that morning I felt completely confident that I would see all my things in Vermont. When I got to my apartment on the morning of 10/1, the T&C truck was already there. It was the same Team Leader I had worked with in MD, which was reassuring to me. He hired some local movers to help him unload the truck. Once again, they were very efficient and had the entire truck unloaded in 2 hrs. All of my things were accounted for and there was nothing damaged. I had added on a second stop to a storage facility at the last minute which was not a problem for them. They just added it to my bill. When they calculated everything at the end of the move, the total came out to less than the estimate, even with the extra cost for the 2nd stop! I would recommend them to anyone.

GREAT! The gentleman came to our house to survey the approximate cost on the day and time that we decided. I was offered a few different packing/moving plans and he gave me hints of what to look for when other moving companies came to give their estimates. We did all of the packing that was necessary and they moved all of our furniture and boxes, including our grand piano, from our 5 bedroom house to our new 5 bedroom house. It was one of the hottest days in the summer of 2012 in Northern Virginia. The team of movers were on time in the morning, extremely diligent in their work, and courteous with each of us as we were finishing our part (packing boxes) as they were carrying the furniture around us. They wrapped all of the furniture as they had told me they would, which was better than a few of the other movers that I had looked into hiring. They took their lunch break and finished packing their two trucks and then headed out to our new house which was only about 40 minutes away. They made sure of which room was who's in the new house in order to put the furniture in the correct rooms. They asked me where to put each piece of furniture in each room and even moved a few pieces for me when I changed my mind. Each of the young men knew their part in the team and made sure the work was completed as I wished it to be. (Luckily, we had not moved our refrigerator food yet so we were able to keep their water cold in our refrigerator.) Again, the day was horribly hot and humid; but, they did not seem to let that slow down their work. I would highly recommend them for their work, their carefulness, and and the variety of plans from which I had to choose. I may even call them again to move around some of our furniture, as we are getting settled in and deciding on a furniture layout that we would prefer at this point, including moving the grand piano.

It went superbly from start to finish. there is nothing they could have done to improve their service.

The entire experience was as expected. The packers arrived when scheduled as did the driver with the van. The second van arrived as scheduled and our McLean home was emptied as planned.

Excellent!! Everything was wrapped securely, altho I thought they could have used a little less packing paper. Even my toothbrush was wrapped. They worked extremely quickly when packing. All fragile items were wrapped with multiple layers of paper, and securely placed in a variety of box sizes. It took them 7 hours to pack up the 3 BR house. And they arrived the next day to load the truck, even transporting a lawn mower which had to be disassembled but reassembled once they arrived. I moved from Fairfax VA to Millsboro, DE-150 miles away. Nothing was broken, every thing was labeled and designated as to which room it was to be moved to. The foreman apologized for arriving 30 minutes late as he had to have the truck inspected for safety issues. I highly recommend Barbara and her team for moving across the street or across state lines.

Chris came over within 2 days of me making the appt, was super nice and responsive. very professional. knew we were in a time crunch and told us he could make it happen. the day of the move they were there 10 min early, and after 6.5 hours we were all moved in to our new home, with nothing broken. they were very professional, laying down blankets and taking off shoes. i would use them again.

Contracted company to do second move by them in 3 years. The fist move went perfectly, and despite having to move a lot more stuff - came out far cheaper the the last move. The crew arrived 1 hour before the appointed time, and as such there was no one there to let them in. It was a warm humid day - and half way through the move the crew was exhausted. Meaning it took far longer to complete the move. This was despite the fact that I was moving only about 1/3 of what I had moved previously (I had put all of the boxed items in a storage Pod to be delivered later). Everything filled less than half of their standard truck. The price also was nearly double that of the first - larger move. Over $1400.00 for what should have been a $700-900 move. Upon further reviewing the contract later - I found they did not include the 5% Angie's list discount. I have contacted the company but have yet to receive a reply.

Missy Jamieson, my account manager, and Martin, my supervisor for the moving crew, were fantastic in moving my belongings from my home in Arlington, VA to a storage unit in Venice, FL. From start to finish they provided great communication, a level of professionalism and extra care in the loading and unloading of items. In a trade where other clients have a horror story, they operated like a well-oiled machine and deserve their Angie's List recognition. I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to anyone planning a long-distant move.
