They were a bit overwhelming. 7 guys showed up the first day and went in 7 different directions. They did a great job packing my stuff especially the fragile things, but not such a great job in marking boxes. Some of the boxes were a mix of this and that and although I have a few boxes left I am missing a few things. I am sure they will turn up. They are slow in returning calls when putting in a claim for damage. I will say that all the men were very nice and friendly. I would defiantly recommend them!!

It went fine, but they did not schedule my moving date correctly. They never got the order even though I placed it with them a week in advance. So no-one came on move day! They moved me the next day and cut the price 15%. The movers did a good job.

From the professionalism of Blair Parler, our moving consultant, to the packing team and moving team lead by Billy, we couldn't have had a better experience. And it was all done on less than a month's notice. They took great care to cover the floors, stairs and hallway so there would be no tracking in of dirt on the new carpets. They wrapped our furniture in blankets and plastic, our mirrors and pictures were professionally wrapped and packed in special boxes and they packed two trucks so tightly that nothing would move while in transport. Halfway through the move in day, it began to rain, but they trudged on until everything was done and in the rooms we had designated. They worked very hard to get everything done in a timely manner. We are very grateful for the job they did for us.

When I asked them to do anything, they took care of it immediately. I would highly recommend Town and Country. They gave the best estimate which was almost exactly the same as the final price and performed the service with smiles on their faces. Thank you for making a very stressful day much better!

The movers were excellent. After having originally been assigned three people, I specifically asked for four movers and was glad to have done so. I was very impressed with their promptness, speedy service, and congeniality, and the ease to which they navigated problems like parking spaces not being available in front of the building. However, there was some damage to an antique couch of mine when they took off the blankets to try to fit it through the door. The wooden arms ended up being ground into the pavement, causing scuffs. Also, the front panel of a bureau was broken off when it was moved into a corner. Having bought insurance along with the service, I expected an easy and prompt claims process. Not so. I called the next day to place my claim and was told by the claims manager to send an email. Since then have called and emailed several times with little response and no indication that the claim is being worked on. It's now been nearly three weeks, and I am under the impression that they'd rather I just forget about it. So while I believe the movers themselves were great, I guess you have to hope that nothing gets broken or damaged because it's like pulling teeth to try to be compensated for it.

Definitely worth the money. They arrived on time, got right to work, protected everything as needed (moving blankets, plastic shipping wrap), worked quickly and carefully, and were very professional. They placed everything exactly where I wanted it and got the whole job done with zero breakage.

I was extremely pleased with the vendor because none of my possessions were damaged and the movers were extremely professional.

I had an appointment set up with them for the 17th. They called me a few days before and told me they were coming. When I said we weren't ready, he said, "You wanna move or not?" Things were left behind and other things were broken. It was not a good experience by any means. I am still looking for things that I cannot find.

They were excellent in every respect, and among the lowest bidders.

We got 3 bids from 3 reputable movers from Angieslist. The Town & Country sales guy came to the old house and looked over the furniture and provided a written quote on the spot. He said that it would take about 6 hrs (with 3 man crew) and that he would throw in 5 wardrobe boxes as well as moving pads. The only extra charge was 1 hr for travel time. There was no truck rental fee, gasoline fee, or any other fees. Some of the other vendors had these additional fees. T&C quote was the best deal, so we went with them. The sales guy recommended that we try getting 3 cars next to each other in front of our house, since we lived downtown and that we know the whole DC moving permit is ineffective (we found this out when we first moved into the house 5 yrs ago). The moving crew showed up on time and was surprised that we had the spaces available and were ready to move. The crew manager asked us if we wanted additional insurance. I was expecting this, but he explained me what T&C would normally cover and if we wanted additional insurance. The insurance is priced based on maximum coverage. Since we did not have anything too valuable for them to move, we took basic additional coverage. This was additional $80, but in the big scheme of things, it was not a big deal for us (vs the peace of mind). After that was done, they began packing the truck. It took them about 2.5 hrs to pack the truck. They also took gas grill and some heavy plants that some of the other vendors said that they would not move. It took about 1/2 hr to get to new house, at which point they started unpacking. Not only were they careful about moving items, they even asked us where to put them in the new house. We moved from a 2 story rowhouse to single family house with attic and basement. A lot of the stuff we asked them to put in the basement as well as some of the stuff in attic (which was two flights of stairs). They reassembled all the furniture in the places we wanted and was done actually on time around 6 hr mark. Nothing was damaged and the crew were friendly and very professional. This was the best moving experience we ever had (we have moved at least 3 separate times before this). We definitely used them again and they also gave us the best deal as well.

We are still waiting on things to be resolved. They lost and broke some items.

Very reasonable cost for second pickup location at storage unit, and delivery of part of the load to storage unit in Seattle. Personnel very friendly.

The estimate was extremely high, but my real estate agent assured me he was friends with the owner and would work it out.... I asked how I could lower the cost, they said to pack myself would lower the cost. I packed half of the boxes, but they REFUSED TO adjust the estimate. I had two chandeliers crated included in the estimate, which were not crated, these were also not removed from the estimate. I never heard from the original estimator again. I purchased the additional insurance. There was damage to quite a few items. I reported the damage within a few weeks, but they said the contract states that I only had FIVE DAYS to report damages. They would not respond to my emails. I have numerous emails stating....you have not responded to my emails. I was charged almost $12,000. to move a few miles down the road into a townhouse, and would not honor the insurance!! In response, $12,000 is an excessive amount to move a townhouse four miles down the road regardless. I have many emails that support everything within my review. Whether I was going through a divorce or not is irrelevant. You did not respond to my emails in a timely manner and did not honor a reasonable insurance claim that was submitted within several weeks of the move.

I received a call the day before our scheduled move informing that the tricks would arrive between 8:30 and 9:30 AM. Despite the rain, Ronnie and his crew arrived exactly at 8:30 AM and immediately got to work. It was like watching a ballet. They got everything done very quickly and with a great deal of care. I was a little uncertain when they brought in wardrobes that were smaller than I envisioned, but Gustavo worked with me to pack everything. They worked in the rain and made sure that the carpets and floors were protected in the new house. They were really professional and good natured - they kept up a blistering pace all day. We could not have been more pleased.

The same man who was in charge of loading truck was the same person who drove my furniture to North Carolina. He was extremely helpful and explained everything. The entire crew did a good job with only 2 small pieces of damage to floor and wall of house that things were moved from, no damage to anything in new house. Not sure if small damage was already there so did not complain about. There were no surprises with the total and I was able to change things being moved without any problems.

OUTSTANDING Service. Being in the military for 25+ years and having extenive experience with movers, Town & Country were a welcomed and refreshing professional group. Thank you. Punctual, respectful, organized, careful, and hard working. I would most definately use them for my next move. Price was extremely reasonable, compared with two recent movers with the same household goods in the past 2 years. VERY reasonable.

We are moving right now. They are excellent.

The move went exceptionally well. It was a very difficult move out from our house in Maryland because of the many stairs involved and the fact that everything and to be shuttled to the large truck. However, every singe member of the team worked efficiently to clear the house rapidly. The most notable thing about them was their courteous cheerfulness at all times. The move in was timely -- no waiting at the other end -- and cheerful. The men who also drove to Maine seemed like old friends and the new members of the team were also excellent workers. They were very concerned about getting everything absolutely right -- more so than I was! | |It is difficult to choose the right company but I was impressed from the start and they proved to be as professional and reliable as I had hoped.

This company is wonderful! A representative came to the house in Maryland, looked at what I wanted moved, and gave me an estimate. At that time I was alerted to the opportunity to receive a lower charge if I scheduled the move for a less busy time. Since this suited my schedule I did so. Between the time of the estimate and time of the move, a period of about 6 weeks, I communicated via email adjusting and readjusting what would be included in the move. The company was prompt and helpful which each revision. In the end the move consisted of 2 double beds, a dresser & mirror, an easy chair, a kitchen dining set, several book shelves, a large computer desk, and 2 filing cabinets. On the day of the move two young men arrived. They were obviously very experienced! They had beds broken down, mattresses covered, furniture wrapped, and the truck loaded in about 2 hrs. We were on the road long before I expected to leave! When they arrived in Lancaster they unloaded the truck quickly, taking each item to the location I indicated. They set up the beds. Despite their speed they were careful with each item. It was the most pleasant, painless move I have ever experienced!

They beat me down here in FL by a few hours. The people seemed nice. However, some of my things were smashed, including crystal. I cannot locate some of your items. Things were not properly marked. The quality of their work was not good. They over charged me in addition for the additional packaging.

Short version: 1. Provided in-home estimator for local move 2. Scheduled on short notice, ~1 week before move 3. Was able to specify "fair market value" insurance coverage 4. Movers had their own branded truck, not a random rental 5. Movers arrived on time and were impressively efficient; no visible loitering despite per-hour rate 6. Whole move completed in ~3 hours. Would recommend to others in this area for local moves. Long Version: I contacted this company along with several others ~2 weeks before my move date for a local move. Estimator was able to stop by that day, and gave me a filled-out estimate. One other company did an over-the-phone estimate for a comparable price, but did not send an estimator. Despite my spending the next week examining other options and only contacting this company to verify the move ~1 week in advance, they were still able to schedule the move for my requested date. I specified the requested insurance coverage (cost $20, covers up to $5000) via email. I received several confirmation calls on the days leading up to the move. Details for this move/estimate: I only wanted them to move furniture from my old location (apartment) to my new location (townhouse). I had cleared the furniture in question already, and asked the movers to bring a box for moving my flatscreen TV. My new location is ~10-15 minutes away. The estimator informed me that the minimum bookable total time was 4 hours at $160/hour, and that the minimum travel time was 1 hour at $160/hour. So if the full process (loading/travel/unloading) took less than 4 hours, the total I would pay was 4 x $160=$640. On the day of the move, their arrival time was scheduled between 0830-0900; they arrived ~0845. Their truck had a Town & Country logo on the side; i.e. they had their own truck and not a random rental. I walked the team through my apartment and showed them what was to be moved, then they got right to work. Their leader said that they should be able to get everything done within the minimum time. Overall I was impressed with their efficiency - I didn't observe any loitering or deliberate slowness to draw out the time, despite the per-hour fee. They had brought the TV moving box I had requested, and I particularly watched that get packed and loaded. The whole loading process took ~1 hour. I drove my car to the new townhouse and they followed, parked, and began unloading. I showed them where everything was intended to go, and they followed those instructions. I kept the TV box for future moves. The move was over by ~1115, faster than I had expected. I wrote them a check, got my copy of the receipt, and then they left. So far I have yet to discover anything noticeably damaged by the move; I'm hooking up my TV soon, but based on the packaging I don't expect any problems. The only problem I had with this process actually concerned the Angie's List 5% discount. The estimator had included it on the paperwork, but had also included additional wardrobe boxes saying that if I did not need them on the day of the move, they could be taken off. True to that word, the boxes were indeed taken off the actual bill when I did not need/use them - but the team's leader who made that change forgot to re-factor in the 5% discount. When I realized this after the fact I called the company; after an initial question of whether I should have presented a printed coupon, they said they would send me a check for the difference (I had paid by check). So printing out the 5% coupon is preferable to make sure the mover factors it in on the bill, but I was still glad to see that they were willing to honor the discount even after the fact. I realize my furniture-only local move is probably atypical, but I was still impressed by this company's professionalism during the entire process.

Move from Virginia to Alabama. Maybe a litte high but well worth it! We contacted multiple companies only to find out there were A LOT of EXTRA fees to their inital LOW estimate. One company's estimate was based on 40 boxes. We had over 200 so I know that would have been costly. Also T&C did full coverage insurance at a very reasonable rate. I hope they can move us again (long haul) when we are ready. It is so hard to find a good, reputable, honest moving company (not just a moving broker)! They packed the things we hadn't yet packed and put everything back together at our destination. Too many horror stories about moving but T&C can help reduce those, even if it does cost a little more.

I've had bad experiences with unprofessional movers, which can definitely ruin the process, so I was very concerned about the latest move. Town and Country was top notch, however. Perhaps it was the team I was dealing with and I got lucky, but I don't think so. George was the sales manager, and he was very polite and professional from day one. It seemed like he has a "no nonsense" and "just the facts" approach, without all the sales pitch and talk, which I prefer. On the moving day, the moving team (of 4 if I recall) arrived on time; they were very polite and professional; they didn't waste any time (e.g., no texting, no calls, no chatting, etc.) and started to work as soon as they entered the house; and they were extremely quick and efficient, yet careful. The moving team leader was Marciel (could be wrong spelling), and I would strongly recommend asking for George and Marciel to do the job. I don't think you can go wrong with this team, at least in my experience. I would definitely use them again!

Prompt and professional crew of movers. Listened well to any special requests I made. Expensive rate per hour plus you always pay an additional hour for their driving time.

They did a good job. Nothing was damaged.
