Shanco Gaithersburg

The experience was very nice. They did what they said they would do. It was a little long in getting it done, because of the weather, but it was a very good experience. There were a couple other items that they had done at the same time. We had gotten 3 or 4 quotes and they were one of the lowest, not the lowest. We had to take everything into consideration, not just the price.

Shanco was prompt in coming to our home for the estimate. They returned to the home in two months to perform the job. The delay was due to weather and understandable. Two men arrived at our home on time and finish the work by the end of the day .They actually did a little bit more than I expected, which was nice. At the end of the job they cleaned up completely. The quality of the work was outstanding . They had to match 20-year-old paint, which was nearly perfect. Only in direct sunlight can you see the difference . I highly recommend Shanco to anyone.

They were good. They were just backed up because of the rain. They were responsive. The price was very reasonable. I think I would use them again.

We had two downspouts that had detached from the gutter, and needed new straps and for the gutters to be fastened to the siding. We chose Shanco mainly due to the ratings on AngiesList. Mike came out when we were at work to evaluate (no charge) and did what work he could at that time and left us a message about what else needed to be done and that he didn't have all the parts to finish it (again, we didn't even expect work to be done, as it was an evaluation). We played telephone tag a few times, and about a week later Mike called and said he'd be out our way and if we want he can finish the job and it would be $125 vs. the base rate of $275 to come out for a job. We of course chose for him to finish, and are pleased with the work that was done. Mike was very friendly, and took the initiative to try to get the job done during the evaluation. The only negative is we generally prefer to only get an evaluation during an evaluation, rather than an evaluation and work completed (what if something goes wrong, for example). In this case, all seems to have worked out fine, fortunately. Lastly, our price was reasonable, but we think the $275 base rate is not excellent, thus the 'good' rating we provided on price. However, overall, we are quite pleased and would use them again.

They were very professional, but a little slow in providing the estimate. The estimate was fair, but my insurance company came in a little under Shanco's estimate. In the end, a friend at work helped me repair the roof myself (ourselves?) and not have to make the claim against my insurance. Otherwise, I would've been happy to go with Shanco.

We have used Shanco several times before because they do an excellent job of assessing what needs to be done to solve the problem we are encountering. They offer options at various cost levels. They were punctual, thorough and sillful.

A representative came out promptly and submitted a bid within a day. His estimate of when the work would be done was very accurate, and the project manager communicated effectively and helpfully during the project. They have done several roofs in this neighborhood and nearby ones, and I would recommend them highly.

We called near the end of April about missing roofing shingles. The receptionist said they were booked until May. Mike couldn't come out until May 10. He was a little late, but did call and was nice and professional. He took photos of the damage and we discussed repair vs replacement. He said an estimate for both options would take several days. It is now May 18. We never heard from them again. Obviously, this company is so busy they don't need new clients.

The Shanco team does professional, quality work. We worked with Casey, the Project Manager/Designer and Victor, the foreman, and i have nothing but high praise for both of them. Each day we would receive an update on the progress and were notified if there was an issue. Our house was spotless when we would get home, so it didn't look like a construction site.

A handyman from another company looked at our roof and told us we had issues with some of our shingles and even wanted to recommend someone he knew to fix it. I called Shanco because I wanted an evaluation. Brad came over and he was knowledgeable and professional. He said at this time we don't need any work done and gave us and idea of how many more years we'd get out of our roof. I would definitely use them for future work!

All work was completed, as required. Though the cost was less than other bids, I felt the cost for this minor work was a bit pricey.

Shanco Companies were my last resort. I just don't know who last to call. Last summer, I had leaking from the dormer into my living room onto the surface and I had to have them covered everywhere. They fixed the leak around the dormer on the outside. They took off the roofing tiles and they even took a picture. Also they put a new board and then they put the flashing and whatever they were supposed to have done and then they put flashing and put roof tiles that matched totatlly. They the leak they just did around the fireplace in the family room, they did made a cricket out of copper, which is put to begin with and said that it would drain the water away from the chimney. Shanco Companies were very professional. They did what they said. I am just happy that they were able to do and fix it. The pricing was fair and they told me how long it would be and then they responded by email with a contract, then they sent out a person to see what the problem was and he gave me his estimate by mail and then they contacted me. They were very courteous, very professional.

They were professional even on the phone. They explained the contract and gave us notice when they were coming and what to expect. They showed up when they said they were supposed to show up and they finished the job in a couple of days. The foreman by the name of Brad was thorough. They accidentally broke a window but they replaced it. They cleaned up and I wasn't able to find any nails lying around the lawn.

This is the third project Shanco has done for us. Each time they have done an excellent job. They show up on time, the quality of the work is excellent, clean up is always good. On this job, we ran into an issue with the standard windows not being the right size for the existing cutouts. They reordered new custom windows and did some extra repairs to the roof , the job lasting to 7 pm or so and we were not charged anything additional. Not to mention we got some cookies delivered today from Shanco as a thank you gift. I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others!!!

The 2 men came as scheduled and performed the job as expected one coat of paint and one sealant.

When I received the estimate, it was very detailed as to materials and work involved. Crew worked steadily and completed the job as promised. Very professional.

WENT WELL. TWO PEOPLE ARRIVED ON TIME TOOK LES THEN AN HOUR TO DO REPAIRS. SO FAR EVERYTHING IS WORKING WELL.

Job completed on time and well done. all people involved- Kim, Dan and Chrissie consistant outstanding Customer Service from initial request for a quote to final invoice to a reschedule/cancellation resulted in my job being moved up to fit my schedule. Would use and recommend to others with confidence.

The repair went well. The billing : I asked for a AAA or AARP discount, it never happened! Sometimes you say forget it, maybe they need the money. I n ever contacted Shanco through Angies List, so I did not expect to have to write this.

The Shanco crew did a great job! From the first meeting until the completion of the work, all was handled professionally and with great care and skill. When a question arose about one aspect of the job, Shanco handled it to our great satisfaction.

Work was completed. Shanco was used because there were no other contractors for this service listed on Angie's List. Workers (when on site) worked hard. Never knew when they were coming however. Communications were non-existent. Nice people - just never knew what was going on most of the time. Made several mistakes as well and made a token inquiry when we sent a letter to them expressing our dissatisfaction.

It was a pleasure dealing with the company. The administrative staff are pleasant and professional. The men tat did the work were very knowledgeable and professional. The quality of the work is exceptional. I strongly recommend Shanco. |

Shanco replaced the siding on one side of our home damaged by a storm. They provided a thorough estimate in keeping with the insurance adjuster's estimate and then completed the work in a timely fashion. They were available by telephone and email as needed. They quickly responded to all my requests. We are very happy with the result.

I was very pleased with planning, work quality, and my insurance provider had no problem with the price. I was very pleased that one of the managers personally came by a day after the installation to check on the cleanup (which can be a problem with roofing nails everywhere). Overall, Shanco's work was worth the wait.

The crew worked from dawn to dusk. Everyone was courteous and professional. Mike Hildebrand was responsive to all our requests. We will definitely recommend them to friends and family.
