Senate Termite and Pest Control

Rich was professional and very knowledgeable about bee issue at my home, and how to terminate the problem.

August 22, 2022 My husband called Senate for services in July. They responded immediately and the hive was removed on July 28 by technician Timothy Lyon in a very short time thereafter. I provided Mr. Lyon a check on the spot for the full amount at the time of service. He was courteous and efficient. Within 2 days, my husband was receiving phone calls from the Senate office asking for payment. They called every second day requesting payment although my husband told them that payment was made via check at the time of service; they mailed us an invoice on August 2nd. I thought they would find my original check and the harassing calls would stop. This was not the case as they continued. After a call in the AM on August 8, where an office employee again left a message requesting payment, my husband asked me to call them as I provided the original check. Before calling, I cancelled the original check and then called the Senate office. After identifying myself, the office clerk said that they found the check. I explained that I had just cancelled payment on the check and that my bank fee was $20. I said that I would mail them a new check for the amount minus the cancellation fee. The new check was mailed on August 9. Again the harassing calls started and on August 18, Senate sent us a second invoice. My husband called the Senate office on August 22, and spoke to Maria who insisted that they had not received the new check mailed on August 9, which was two weeks earlier. While he was relating the history of the problem, Maria said that she now had the check in front of her and that she would credit our account. Bottom line to this story, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY. Find someone else for the job.

I give no complaint right now. Their service was fine.

This company was very professional. Very personable They continued services to eliminate our problem. They have been back to complete basic maintenance.

They sales person came out and show him a specimen of the 2 bug they thought it was bird mites, I agreed. He said, he is taking care it before. and he has an actisol machine and he said that in his experience it's 4 actisol treatments but his thinking it might get it into 2 treatments. I asked if the 2 treatments don't do it, he said they will keep on treating until it resolves. I had a 60-day warranty and he said the 60-day warranty is the best in the business and his name is Jonathan the sales person. He said that it will be able to take care of it. When he told me $3600, I questioned it, I am using my retirement pay and keep on telling me that we have a 60-day warranty and it is the best in the business. Most pasting companies only give a 30-day warranty. I decided to pay the $3600 treatment because to me it is worth it to get rid of the overwhelming insects infestation. During this time there was no cancellation by the company and another time the technician was sick and they cancelled. After 5 to 6 weeks infestation has not resolved. So, Chit one of the managers came to my home, I explained that the problem was not resolved and use a lot of money. Chit said that they will treat my home until the infestation is resolved. 2 months after I signed the contract, I received a voice mail message from Nick, one of the managers, saying my contract has expired. I called the office and told them the infestation was still ongoing and they agreed to a 2nd actisol treatment. That treatment did not resolve the issue. I called Maria one of the managers, explained to her the extent of the ongoing infestation and my friend to whom I had transmitted the infestation who has the larger house was charged less than $800 for 3 months and I will charge $3600 for 2 months. And I still had an infestation so I asked for a partial refund. Maria told me that she could not give me a refund but she would give me 30 more days. By the end of the 30 days, the longest period I was infestation free is a day and a half. I spoke with Nick one of the managers, who said that I could not possibly still have pleas in my house. I invited him to come and take a look at the please I have been collecting that have been biting me. He declined the invitation. He said that what we're using will kill any pleas and then I asked him if he was familiar with literature on pyrethrin thyrohyoid resistance plea. He admitted that he is not familiar with literature and Senate could do no more for me. The pest control technicians were great, and were very competent. Unfortunately, the sales person greatly overcharged me. Aside from Maria, the managers were not helpful at all.

Senate is the best pest control company I have worked with over the past 25 years of owning properties. Eric R. is my compadre for life! Awesome group of folks that don't pinch you for every dime and are on call when you need them the most. Thanks fellas and keep up the dedicated work!

The rep was on-time, very friendly, and wore shoe coverings. He noticed my tree stump and advised that I get it removed or treated for termites. I always get a call to confirm appointment and get another call to let me know they are at my house. I am big fan of customer service and give them an A++.

JR was prompt and very respectful. His description of our their service and request for scheduling appointments. At our first service the technician actually early. I can not judge the effectiveness of the product because it is still winter so there are not yet many bugs. So far I am very satisfied.

I never give 5 stars as there is always room for improvement but these people are very good. I did see a couple of spiders after the first visit but since then (and there were two more visits) I have not seen any spiders in my home. Carlos was very good as he addressed all of the areas around the home and having conversations as the work was being performed (I felt like I knew him for a while). Their prices were very good for the work that I was getting done. I'm okay with these people and would hire them again!

I hired Senate to kill and remove bees that were getting in my house and find the nest . They were only getting in 1 room in my house. (the bedroom) He sprayed the bees in my bedroom and killed the bees in the room. When I asked if he found nest and how they were getting house. he said No, they were swarming look for a nest and if they returned he would come back out and that I had a 30 day warranty. He left his cell phone number and told me to call him if they came back. I said okay, because I had to go out town for a week. I come back home to a bedroom full of bees. So I call them and told them the bees were back in my bedroom. They told me they couldn't get back to my house for a week. He was at my house about 15 minutes. If I had known that was all they were going to do I could have saved $250.00 and purchased a $6.00 can of bee spry and killed them myself. Now I have to buy spray and look for a new pest control to remove the bees, so I can sleep in my bedroom.

Stay away from company - bunch of liars!!!!!!!! Signed maintenance contract in 2018 for $3,600 for chemicals which would be a one time price. In 2021 called and said they wanted to inspect my home. They said I needed to pay another $3,600 for chemicals as the ones they sprayed in 2018 was only good for 3 years. Also, never had termites Did not agree to pay and discontinued contract.

I chose this company out of Three because when they came out, the Technician went around the tire hose, basement, and garage to insect. The Team is knowledgeable, professional, and hard workers. If I had any problems or concerns the office staff were knowledgeable, I was able to reach someone, and they were very polite. If, I felt I had a problem to be addressed at my home, I never had a problem with getting someone scheduled to come out. The cost were the same with all Three Companies.

I noticed that I had a lot of ants outside the front parameter of my home and in my house on the ground level. I came on Angie's list and sent out several quotes. Senate was the first company to respond and schedule an appointment the next morning. The technician arrived on time and was very candid in explaining the treatment that would be needed to take care of the problem. Based on his suggestion and his great sales skills I was convinced that of the four companies that provided a quote, Senate Termite Control was the best company to perform the job. The service was performed that same afternoon of providing the quote, and I was satisfied with the service. Senate will continue the treatment each quarter for a year.

Well, I scheduled an appointment, and due to having a family friend in the business, no longer needed their services. I contacted the company and was able to cancel without any issues. The operators in both interactions were clear, professional, friendly, and very understanding.

I would not recommend using Senate to address your pest control needs. I am having an issue with mice in my house and I entered into a service contract with Senate in December 2019 based on the positive reviews. Two months later I still have the mice issue. The different technicians that come out are continuously stating “I just don’t get it” as they check the various bait stations planted throughout the house. They each tell me different reasons for the problem, and I implement corrective measures with still no change. After catching two mice on my own, and exhausted with the problem, my wife and I decided to cancel the contract due to no results. When I conveyed to the manager my frustrations (especially the finding of mouse poop in my sons diaper bag and nursery) I was hit with a cancelation fee. I wouldn’t have mind paying the fee, but it was the lack of empathy and apathy in his monotone voice that frustrated me, especially for a company that advertises on their website : “We strive to maintain personal relationships with our customers, whom we consider our friends”. The manager seemed to take offense I was canceling and began telling me that it could take 5 months to resolve! And when I countered his point about leaving food out, after spending $100 on plastic bins to store all our food, he told me the problem was because they are going after the bedding! Really? I am tired of the excuses and is why I canceled. I’m going back to our old pest control company who resolved the issue in two weeks. I recommend you save your money and not go through Senate. Friends don’t treat me like that, and I don’t want friends like that.

Called me within seconds of requesting a quote. Had an inspection done and treatment scheduled within 24 hours. Super speedy service and interacting with the representative felt easygoing and no pressure.

Setup and appointment, received a confirmation of appt, yesterday evening. And then a no show. Called and we weren't even listed having an appointment for today.

They were able to schedule me very quickly upon my phone call and had late evening hours. Donovan came promptly. He explained what he was looking for, and not finding, and gave us a lot of information about bedbug behavior. He said we definitely didn't have them so my bites must have been from something else during the day. There was no charge for the inspection.
