...I have lived in this house since 1986; recently we have paid as much as $550 to $600 (per month) the last few summers for air conditioning that did not cool our house. I actually purchased a free standing AC unit for our bedroom in the summers. Service Experts (Peter LoBello) was one of four contractors I interviewed for the job. Three of the contractors came in price very close to Service Masters; one company wanted over $18,000 for their top of the line unit. I decided to go with Service Experts. The unit installed is the Lenniox XC-21 air conditioner with the Lennox 506274-01 air handler. That is the best from Lennox, you can see on the website. Everything about the job went as presented. Service Experts uses Randel Hubbard for their duct work. He totally re-engineered the setup of our system. Our old system was not getting enough return air and many of the delivery ducts were too small. His crew is extremely professional and they know their business. Everything is now insulated and wrapped as it should be in an attic system. Service Master's crew came after the ductwork was completed. Again their crew did an outstanding job regarding placement of the outside unit to all the wiring and setup that is involved. This was a three day job. Each day whoever was working cleaned up at the end of the day.The mechanics all gave me tips about saving energy. My old system was installed before I bought the house; it was in violation of code. Nothing was insulated (at all!) and the duct work was actually apart in a number of places blowing air into the attic. Wish I could remember the name of the company that inspected the property before I bought it! During the process I have called Pete LoBello with questions several times. He has responded very quickly and professionally. I have nothing more to say except I am one extremely pleased customer. I look forward to doing my service business with this company.
Description of Work: I had an entire attic air conditioning system installed. That included all new attic duct work and an air handler in the attic as well as a new compressor unit outside.

It's 15% off the bill since we have a contract with them if we have a problem. They are excellent. I have been dealing with them for 20 years.

.I have used Service Expert Heating & Air Conditioning for twenty five years. They are an excellent company and very accommodating. I have them perform annual checkups on my heating and cooling system. If a small part needs replacing, they will replace it free of charge. I highly recommend them.

They came, diagnosed the problem as one needing a very expensive repair, and then attempted to sell us additional equipment, service plans etc. We decided to seek a second opinion. They were wrong about the problem - the needed repair involved simply replacing a switch. They seemed much more interested in marketing products than in providing reasonable and professional service.
Description of Work: We called them because our air conditioning system was not working. They came and diagnosed the problem.

They charged me too much for the service. My biggest concern was the price. I figured out the issue before they came, which was a blown capacitor. He was able to verify that and replace it. He was here for less than 30 minutes i.e. the time he showed up to the time he left. The part costs only $40; so it means they charged $10 a minute, even if I remove the $40 up charge for coming out on the weekend.
Description of Work: I used Parker-Pearce Service Experts last weekend to repair my air conditioner.

I would rate them high overall. They were excellent.
Description of Work: I used Parker-Pearce Service Experts for heating and A/c. The last time I used them was about a month ago for doing some maintenance. They didn’t charge anything as it was under maintenance contract. They replaced few parts in the air conditioner and checked the whole system and it was free as it was maintenance contract.

They are excellent. The annual inspections are free since they had replaced my furnace.

I signed up for a maintenance service contract on heating and A/C. I choose them because previous owners (of recently purchased townhouse) had used them and because they had good reports on Angie's list. I was and am disappointed in the service. It seemed very superficial and the service agent seemed more interested in selling a new HVAC system than actually doing any service. Granted the system is old and needs to be replaced. I am from Chicago and have an outstanding HVAC service provider there. Maybe things are different in Montgomery county Maryland but I consider the service Parker-Pearce provided as worthless. They did not even hose off the outside A/C unit or replace the air filer. The guy laughed when I asked about filter replacement and said they couldn't stock everyone's specific filter. Yet air-rite service in Chicago replaced my filter every visit when I lived in Chicago. I don't know how they can do this in Chicago, a much larger and more diverse community than Rockville. Since they had previously serviced my house (prior owners) for several years, it seems like it would be easy to know which filter to bring out. It is unfortunate that I signed up for a whole year service contract with this company as I do not feel that they offer much. I do not recommend. Indeed I am not even sure I will utilize them for the fall/winter service that I have already paid for. It is now Nov 2013 and this company continues to call me several times a day. I never answer their calls because I want nothing to do with them. I have blocked their number yet they continue to call. I would avoid this contractor at all costs and if you do business with them, I would not give them your phone number.

Work performed was good, problem was fixed after about a week during mid-June. After tech came out for diagnostic and gave estimated day to return for repair, the day came and went and it was difficult getting response from company about estimated service date, and had to call them back repeatedly to get answers after being told they would contact me. One day the phone lines did not work for over 4 hours - I kept calling, they would answer but were not be able to hear me. Very annoying. Company reps & dispatch not great service. Service tech was very nice and professional, performed good work.
Description of Work: Outside A/C unit fan motor froze up on 10-year-old unit. First call was diagnostic ($80), ordered part and returned several days later to replace the part.

I have priority if something goes wrong with heat or air they come right out and I get discount. They are excellent i have been using them for years. Prompt, on time, dependable We will keep using them.

It took them six visits out here to accomplish what I wanted. The first three people they sent out were not qualified to work on an oil burner in spite of my telling them that I had an oil burner. The fourth person who was qualified said that they were not servicing oil burners at this time of the year. They sent out a fifth guy who did not have the right equipment and the sixth guy finally did. I finally got the oil burner serviced at a fair price but the hassle that I had to go through to get it really wasn’t worthwhile. My plan is to convert my oil burner to natural gas so that I don't have this problem. The price that I paid them was okay but the real cost was at least three afternoons of work that I missed to meet them here so that they could not leave the work. The last guy who came over and actually serviced it was the only one who apologized for all the trouble that it took to get them out here. His name is Lukas. I started calling them in March to have the servicing done and the first three people came out in April-June. The fourth guy came in June and he was the one who told me that they were not servicing oil burners at that time and did not know why I had scheduled it. I had only called the company and they had scheduled it. It was finally serviced in September 2010 and it became basically a six-month process to get the furnace serviced. I felt that the company is not customer-friendly or service-oriented.
Description of Work: Parker Pearce Service Experts serviced my oil burner. The burner needed to have a new filter and a new nozzle.

They were very good. One guy kept more towards the machine. The other one talked to me and gave the pamphlet told me other things. I have a contract with them for air conditioning and heating. They call me every six months to make sure everything is okay. The last guy, who came for the heating, didn't mention anything about the duct. But they mentioned about the duct. They had a time frame between eight and nine, and they were here at eight. They were punctual. They came and finished the work within forty five minutes. I would use them in the future.
Description of Work: I used Parker Pearce Service Experts. They did the air condition and heating on Thursday. They did the duct cleaning on Friday. The duct cleaning was $497 for the whole house. The upstairs was much hotter than the downstairs. They did the heating and cleaned each duct.

They installed a new part. I was able to have cool air in my home quickly. They are on time. They call you when they are on the way and give me a window as to when they will be at my home. Their technicians are very competent and professional.

I contacted them to set up an appointment towards the end of May. Since I wanted them to come on a Saturday, I was willing to accept a long delay before they came. They came at the promised time.

We had our unit installed with Parker Pierce in February 2009, and we found them through Costco. Pete, who sold us the unit, was very helpful and the prices were very good. The installation went well. They didn't have the size unit we needed, but since it was an emergency situation they upgraded us to the next size at no charge. They came back and checked the unit, and serviced it for the next year free of charge. The service techs were always helpful. We also had an incident where the thermostat broke. They were out to check it and repair it the same day. We decided to purchase a continuing service agreement with them to keep the warranty and protect our investment. Today was our first continuing service appointment. I was even more impressed with Abel. He was very great to work with. He was running late for our appointment, so he called and we rescheduled for the next day. There was a miscommunication and he didn't get confirmation from the main office for that appointment, and when I expressed my frustration, he checked with the office and came out late that same day to make sure I was satisfied. When he arrived, he noticed the differential temperature was not the 20 degrees it should be. He checked the freon levels and they were low, so he refilled it. He gave me instructions on how to ensure it wasn't leaking (have the tech compare the levels when they come out next summer). He was at my home for 90 minutes making sure everything was okay, even though he didn't leave until 9 pm, and only expected the appointment to last for 30 minutes since my unit is only 18 months old. He was a pleasure to work with and I will request him as my tech next time.
Description of Work: This was a yearly service contract, but initially we also purchased our unit through Parker Pierce as well. They have serviced it each season and are always very responsive. I would recommend them very highly!

The technician was perfectly competent, but exhibited absolutely no professionalism. He not only scolded me for failure to properly maintain the system--the previous owner's transgression--but at one point actually said, "You know I want to choke you, right?" At least he said it to me instead of my wife--she would have tossed him out then and there.
Description of Work: Our heat pump quit working--the compressor would come on, but the fan never started. Having used Parker-Pearce previously, we called to have a technician come diagnose the problem. We felt pretty sure we would end up replacing the unit due to its age and overall condition. The technician got it running and advised us to consider replacing the system instead of paying for suggested repairs, which were estimated at around $1500..

I was looking to buy a particular kind of humidifier. The manufacturer?s website had a list of installers in the area who would be able to install that particular model. I called four of them and all of them came out and give me an estimate. Parker-Pearce?s estimate was the lowest. Their work was excellent and it was done relatively quickly. The unit works pretty well. I am very happy with them.

We have constantly good experiences with them. We have the annual agreement with them. They come for two years to service it for no extra cost. Once we had some issues with our heating system and they came at 10 o?clock at night in a storm. They were great and told us that the furnace was not worth fixing. He sent someone the next day and suggested that if we did both our air conditioning and heating at the same time, then they would give us a discount. They didn?t recommend the most expensive system and did give the discount. I would use them again in future.

I called Parker-Pearce because my furnace had stopped working and the warranty company said they could not get to it for a week. They said they would call be back within two hours to tell me whether or not they could get to me today. They called back in one-half hour and said they could have a technician here in twenty minutes. William, the technician, arrived in less than twenty minutes. Was pleasant, knowledgeable and professional. Spent some quality time with my furnace, cleaned and adjusted a sensor, explaining its funtion to me as he worked. Did some other checks on the furnace and observed it intently for some time to ensure that it was working as it should. He also recommended that I upgrade my thermostat which I deferred to another time. I was fully satisfied with the whole experience and would use them again for sure.
Description of Work: Checked out my non-working gas furnace and got it going again.

This is the second time I?ve used them and I was very impressed. They do very good work and they are very punctual. They had a hard time getting the system in because my house is 55 years old and the access to my attic was too small for the unit; they had to disassemble the unit and take it into the attic piece by piece and then assemble it. They were excellent with the system but they had to take the crawl space apart and although they put it back, I?m going to need a carpenter to come in and make it better. It was very hot and they could only work in the attic for two hours at a time so they did a relay where two men would go work for awhile then the next two men would take over.
Description of Work: Parker-Pearce Service Experts just put a new air conditioning system in my house.

Gave estimate and said they had to order a part. Then service went into a black hole. Never called us. Repeated calls to Parker Pearce connected us with outsourced customer service. Said part would be picked up at 10:00 am next day and they would call to schedule service. Did not call. When I called the next day to cancel service, I was told they had two appointments scheduled for 10:00 am that day and one on the following Monday. None of this communicated to me. Obvious to me that they "schedule" appointments but keep rescheduling and move at their own pace.
Description of Work: Technician came out to troubleshoot cause of air conditioner failure and give an estimate for repair.

It was very easy to reschedule an appointment with this company. The people are very friendly and usually are able to answer any questions I have. They usually show up within the time frame they specify.
Description of Work: I pay a yearly contract with Parker Pearce to do routine servicing on my furnace and air conditioner to make sure everything is running smoothly per season. Last time they did a routine check was on my furnace for the fall and winter season.

I called the company to get a price on a circuit board that burned out. I asked the person the phone how much money it would cost to fix a specific part and they told me they had to come out and look at the unit to determine the problem and that would cost $105. I would never use this company for the fact they would not quote a price on a specific part; with the understanding if something else was wrong it would cost more. I would not do business with this company that can not give you price or an even an estimate without paying $105 for a service call.
Description of Work: A waste of time on the phone with them.

This job went well. Of all the companies that came out, they spent a lot of time with me and actually took pictures. They got here on time, did good work and cleaned up well.
