I would probably use them in the future. They weren't as clear on the electrical work that was needed to be done. They recommended an electrician that they use regularly and they did a great job installing the circuit breaker. But when the installers came to install the split unit, they were expecting an electrical line to have been run from the electrical panel to the exterior where the heat pump was to go. The installers completed the work, but I was left with a 3 or so holes in walls and ceilings where they cut through the drywall to run the electrical line and I have yet to get that fixed. It was the first time I've used them.

Compressor quit working about 10pm on Fri. I called and left a message on Fri night and they called me on Sat morning before 8am asking if a tech could come out at 11am. He diagnosed the problem as a bad capacitor, replaced it, offered to "fix" my less than professional NEST install, and was out the door in under two hours. We have used them for several years and they have never let us down.

They put together two bids for the project outlining two potential ductless solutions/options. Chris was very knowledgeable on the products and options. The installation team was punctional professional and did a great job installing the system. The system looks and sounds great. The installation team even replanted a shrub that was in the way of the outside unit. They were more expensive, but they also offered superior/double the warranty life than their competitors. I would use them again.

Late in the afternoon yesterday our AC suddenly turned off and would not come back on again. On one of the hottest days of the year I was uncertain if I could find anyone same day. Irene who answered the phone went out of her way to help find a tech who could make it to me that afternoon - and I got a follow-up email right away confirming the time window and technician name (love that!) Jake arrived promptly and diagnosed the problem as a faulty compressor. The whole thing took just under an hour and he also offered up some tips to increase the air flow on our upper level. I was also expecting the fee to be huge, but it was very reasonable! Thank you Irene, Jake, and the Michael Bonsby company!

The company (especially Chris Hale, who we worked with) was incredibly responsive, provided a quote that was far better than their competitors (including bigger units, a better warranty, lower cost, and a quicker turn-around time from contract signing to system installation). We honestly can't recommend them enough. The installation went well (and was done in less than 2 days), and the units do a fantastic job cooling our house. We are thrilled to have found this company. If you are suffering through the DC summer with window AC units that are noisy and just not working (we, for example, had essentially abandoned our miserable upstairs once the temps hit the 90s), call Michael Bonsby. It's the best money we've spent in a long time.

I'm absolutely happy with my air conditioners and having chosen Michael Bonsby for the installation. From day one, calling Michael Bonsby, setting up an appointment, meeting Chris from Michael Bonsby at my house to go over what I could have and the different options, to the technicians and the administrative assistants, all are very friendly, service oriented and pleasant to work with. I was impressed with their speed on returning my calls and answering all my questions which were many since I always ask too many questions. The work was done spotless and now I have an energy efficient, super quiet and super compact air conditioner that works like a charm.

I am not a techy but I carefully inspected the final product and it looks good, professionally done. I am happy with it. However, it things start to fall apart, then I'll surely write another review or amend this one.

I had been nursing an HVAC system that had a leak in the coil. I had freon put in during the month of February, July, and come October, I needed more! I was told repeatedly that there was no way to fix the leak in the coil but the unit was just 3 years old! My system is in a closet off the patio (think condo living) and this was the third AC I had put in the place in 12 years. Knowing that this might be a repeat, I pulled up Angie's List and started my research. I backed up my choices with another site I trust and felt that three references would work. Michael Bonsby sent Mark to give me an estimate the next day. Because of my past history with one brand that kept breaking down, I was insistent that I wouldn't put that in again. Well Mark assured me I could get a system to fit that would last much longer than anything I've had in the past. In fact they offered a 10 year warranty on the compressor and 10 years on the parts with service too. They came in the highest of the three bids but they have a clause that caught my eye (and should catch yours)... they offer a 30 day guarantee price match. I went with the lowest offer (should have known better) and three weeks later I called Mark again. Mark came over the next day, He gave me a new estimate, matching the lowest bid and the 10 year service warranty! I signed the contract. Six days later the two man team put tore out my old system before Noon and installed the new HVAC system and the thermostat by 4:30 pm. The cleanup crew had everything picked up by 6 pm. It's a pleasure to recommend Michael Bonsby for HVAC help. And if you use them, please ask for Mark. He worked very hard to make this deal come through, going the extra effort much more than any other person I've ever had the pleasure of working with.

Although no services were rendered, I though it might be beneficial to relate my experience with a consultant who provided an evaluation of my heating needs and provided a quote on a single gas furnace (American Standard). The consultant came out at exactly the agreed upon time and was very courteous, highly professional, highly competent and a refreshing low pressure sales approach. Most importantly, he seemed very honest about issues that might make the installation difficult and spent a lot of time trying to understand the issues (much more than the 2 other competitors). It was clear that customer staisfaction was more important than winning the sale. Their prices are not the least expensive, but the warranties they offer are industry standard or better. Although I eventually went for a competitor for reasons beyond the control of the consultant, I recommend that if you are in the market for a new furnace (or for that matter any big item HVAC product), give these people a call for a home visit.

Michael Bonsby recently installed a 5 zone mini-split air conditioning system in our 100 year old home. We've been suffering the last few summers since moving to this area, and decided to do something about it this summer. We were considering a few different technologies (high velocity, conventional, and mini splits). A few different companies were pushing us to the technology they were most comfortable with, which wasn't the mini split technology we were really leaning toward. We could tell that Bonsby was very familiar with all of the available technologies, and recommended the a Mitsubishi system based on what we were looking for. The cost was up there, but with 48 month 0% financing it was an easy decision to make. The work performed was super professional....the team was here about 5 days, and cleaned up every single day. We felt very comfortable with everyone we encountered with Bonsby.

We searched out some local companies for our hvac project. We have had bad experiences in the past with national firms, so didn't want to go that route this time. We were pleased, overall with many of the sales presentations, but Michael Bonsby really stood out to us. The sales person really took the time with us to explain all of the options available to us; he took measurements of the home, and actually recommended a slightly smaller size, which saved us some money. They weren't the cheapest of the companies we interviewed, but they offered the best guarantees (actually offering to buy the system back within the first year if we're not happy), and outlined all the steps that most run of the mill companies skip. Jerry Broady from Michael Bonsby Heating and Air Conditioning was the person who performed the work today. Not only was he on time, he called 20 minutes before he arrived to let me know he was on his way. Mr Broady was professional, courteous, and most importantly knew exactly what to do and how to do it. Unlike other HVAC Companies I have dealt with in the past, Mr Broady demonstrated preventative steps I can take to keep the unit functioning perfectly. Mr Broady is an expert on Split Minis and it was clear from the time he came in the door that he had the breadth of knowldge and experience needed for the repair. I rarely write reviews but given Mr Broady's outstanding service, I wanted to make sure others knew of this positive experience.

Our house had a VERY old HVAC system (the oldest the Bonsby sales rep had seen in years.) It was not properly sized for our home, and no heat or air ever made its way to the rooms at the end of the ductwork. The sales person, Patrick, was great. He took a lot of time explaining the process and the system to us, as well as taking measurements. Bonsby's price came in considerably ($1,000) less than a similar system we received a quote on, plus, the system Bonsby offered us had a better filter. (The 15% off Angie's List Coupon helped to get us to this price.) A few things about Bonsby's policies. They offer a 5-year "worry-free" warrantee. The warranty does not just cover parts and labor, but anything. They also offer a one-year money back guarantee, and a team of service techs. On the installation day, the guys came right on time (within 10 mins, of an 8 am window). They were courteous, clean, and worked pretty much all day long. My salesperson had told me his techs are paid by the hour, not by the job, so there was no incentive for them to rush. The team put in the system I bought and were at my house for about 10 hours. They left everything clean, and the system works great! I'm looking forward to seeing some energy savings. More importantly, our daughter's room actually has AC, and our bedroom is livable!

We had an awful contractor that we hired to demolish a retaining wall and renovate a rowhouse patio (Precision Contracting Solutions). The experience with the contractor was disastrous and we fired them. However, they were smart enough to subcontract the moving of the AC compressor to Bonsby Plumbing. Bonsby arrived on-time once we had a date set; spent all day to take care of every detail. They were knowledgeable and professional. The cost (charged to the contractor) was consistent with other quotes we had received.

I got three other quotes (all A rated), and they had the best value. The installers were very neat and thorough, and the system has been performing as expected.

The work that the technician did on the furnace itself was very effective - he made repairs and got it running, even cleaned out a layer of drywall dust deposited from a major rehab the house had undergone some time before. We didn't have any problems with the heat for the rest of the heating season. However, at the end of the visit we didn't receive a statement summarizing the work completed or a final invoice. The technician also promised that he would give us a set of tips/procedures that would help us optimize the system for the next season. We made at least one follow-up call to the main office to get all this paperwork -- never returned. I found that really unprofessional In the heating season that followed, we continued to have a lot of issues with our heating. We didn't call Bonsby back - the service provider we used instead evaluated the system, not just the problems. Based on their take and that of two other HVAC companies, we now think that the system was never installed correctly in the first place -- even without digging deep, there are several features of our system that show this, if you put them all together in a big-picture view. Bonsby came highly recommended in our neighborhood, and I now wonder whether it's just for fixes and not big-picture work. In our case the focus was so narrow that the higher-order problems causing our furnace to fail didn't get into the mix - and so we had to go through it all again (and worse) this year. They were very punctual and responsive before the job, and the tech certainly took care of the most obvious end of the problem (failing safety switch, I think it was) - but never got up to the level of asking why.

The tech was knowledgeable and answered my questions. He figured out the main problem, the humidifier valve was stuck open and needed to be replaced. He did not have the part with him, so would have to come back to replace it on a future visit. I was told the part would cost me $340. I asked how much the part would cost if I had a service agreement in place with Bonsby. He said $289. I expressed my shock at the price and he did not say much. This cost would be on top of this day's charge, $239 for 30 mins of work. I don't know if I would have been charged for the return visit, but even if it was free I would be out $629. After declining to pay the $340 I went to the manufacture's (Aprilaire) website and ordered the part myself for $69 (free shipping). I feel like Bonsby's prices were far beyond a reasonable business profit and into the realm of dishonesty.

After trying to save the life of my HVAC, it was apparent that it couldn't be saved. They found a system that fit my needs and budget, installed it, improved my intake/outtake duct work that was likely the cause of my previous systems failure.

Michael Bonsby's skilled installers are professional, polite and clean up after work each day! They made sure everything was moved around carefully so as to not break anything. And they always move your furniture back when done. The installation took about 5 days, and we were home only on the first and last day. They were honest and we felt comfortable leaving them to work on the house alone while we were at work. Overall, the experience was great, except for a billing mistake which was a little upsetting but it was resolved quickly. Otherwise, overall, it was a great choice and we love our new a/c. It works and it looks great. I would strongly recommend using only Mitsubishi Diamond certified contractors for the peace of mind (visit www.mitsubishicomfort.com). Even though the cost overall was more than other systems, we feel it is a good investment that will last for a long time.
