Michael Bonsby Heating & Air Conditioning LLC

On 9/12/2024 Michael Bonsby did a hot water tank flush for us. At that time they took a water sample for a water quality test. We have well water, and have noticed tastes in it, so it is important that we know if there are water quality issues. After not hearing back about the results of the water quality test after a month, I called Bonsby back. They said that somehow they had lost either the sample or the test results, so they came again on 10/21/2024 to take another water sample. After not hearing from them about the second test after a month and a half, I sent them a text on 12/10/2024, but got no response. I called them on 12/11, 12/12, and 12/13/2024 to ask what happened to the test. Each time I was told someone would get back to me, but they haven't. I really can't understand why they can't be bothered to return my calls or text me about the results of this test, especially since it has been three months, and they fouled up the first try.

James and Evan showed up nice and early, listened to what we were hoping to accomplish and got right to work. They were both very friendly and professional. Any mess created by their work they cleaned right up. The job was completed to our full satisfaction. They even took the time to address a couple other minor issues unrelated to the job at hand. We look forward to seeing James and Evan for any future electrical work. Thanks very much, guys!

Job was much bigger than I expect but plumber (Anthony William) explains what actually cause the leak. His performance was very knowledgeable and taking his time to get job correctly. As the result now the drainpipe working no more leaking great work Anthony I was impressed with your performance.

We are really disappointed in the process for getting an estimate on a heat pump. The rep came out on a Monday. We were explicit that we wanted a model eligible for the new tax credit. He said he would send us an estimate by the end of the week. When we didn't receive an estimate, we contacted the rep. We finally got the estimate almost a week late -- and none of the 7 models in the estimate were eligible for the tax rebate. We are really disappointed that the rep wasn't forthright with us. We would have been willing to discuss when they might have the newer models in stock. Instead, this experience was a huge waste of our time due to poor communication.

I obtained six estimates for which four companies proposed a reasonable price. Three of these four companies made a favorable sales impression but the one that stood out from the others was David Lux of Michael Bonsby Heating and Air Conditioning LLC. Mr. Lux spent the most time in answering my questions, more than any of the representatives of the other companies and he was quick to followup on additional questions I had at a later date. Even after I signed the contract, had the system installed and paid in full Mr. Lux continued to respond promptly to my inquiries. The technicians who installed the system did a good job and spent a lot of time showing me how to use the newly installed wifi thermostat. I was very please with the work of this company and would definitely consider using them again in the future.

We had several estimates. bonsby was by far the most knowledgeable, professional, and affordable. They helped switch a gas furnace to electric heat pump cheaper than a new furnace! Quality work, redid some ductwork.

The job was a little complicated as a crane was required to lift part of the machinery onto the roof. A permit was required to block the street during the crane process. It was the middle of summer so time was of the essence. Everything was done promptly and professionally. We would hire Michael Bornsby again.

It went perfect as planned. Very clean from start to finish Their crew worked hard ever day, where on time and left inside and out spotless . Completed the the project on schedule , and went over the unit and controls with me. Their foreman (Andy) kept me informed , and called after a week to check on how the units where running Couldn’t ask for a better co .. can’t say enough .

I requested bids from 8 different contractors from Maryland or Virginia for 30 days. Not all were from Angies List. I am not a typical homeowner, I had Manual J and D (load calculations and Design) ready, I knew what I wanted and a ballpark figure of cost and level of effort. To my surprise some HVAC contractors walk in then walked out. ( too complicated? ) some said they could do it over one weekend Saturday and a Sunday (Yikes!) and then some just never returned or were late with their proposals/ bids. I couldn’t wait!! So I had Michael Bonsby Heating & Air Conditioning come out. Their representative was knowledgeable, he understood my requirements and came in at a fair price right away. I was pleasantly surprised bc the rest of the contractors took days to respond back or were no shows. Plus they financed my project for 12 months sac. The project was complex, we found structural issues (which had to be fixed and a few design changes during the build of new duct work covering two weeks of work. 2-3 or 4 people a day depending on need. Workers arrived on time every day being respectful, friendly and ready to work. This company is top notch and have now added them to do the maintenance for my home and a rental property we own. I am extremely happy with the company and service.

I paid this company to come out and do the install of the AC and Furnace. They also did an aeroseal of my ducts for the whole house. This was in 2017. One year later, a piece of the top of my cabinet came out, along with a few more. Looks like the ducts above the cabinet were leaking onto the top of the cabinet, which destroyed it. They sent someone out who insulated those two ducts. A couple of months later, the ceiling in my basement fell out under a duct that was - SHOCKER - leaking water profusely. The man they sent out came back and looked at it but this time he refused to insulate the duct saying it was too close to the wall of the house, and I needed to get another contractor in to look at it with him. He canceled three appointments in a row. He claims he was having a personal health issue at the time, which I understand, but the company did not provide any sort of other coverage for this issue and they never sent anyone else out to follow this guy up in any way. Fast forward another year or two and there is MOLD in the home in two places. Still the company has not responded in any way, despite multiple public reviews, except for one post claiming I must be mistaken about the company I used. This is unacceptable. I have all the paperwork in front of me. Their failure to act and failure to stand behind their work for over two years has forced me to now deal with a major mold infestation. I have given my insurance company and my attorney all of this information to work with.
