Description of Work: When the saleperson came out to determine what kind of exterior carpentry that I wanted done, it was decided that my ideas would not fit into the two hour window limit. So it was decided that the carpenter would work on the front entrance area. He would fix the screen door to make sure it close properly, replace an old door threshold cover and work the vestibule door knob/lock so that it close correctly. The carpenter came out about a week later. He fix the screen door and replace door threshold cover. He was unable to fix door knob because it broke and it was going over the two hour period. A little upset about the knob but it was an old that needed to be replace anyway. For the money the job was good and the carpenter gave me some good suggestion on how to a window problem in my bathroom , which was very helpful.

Description of Work: Mike totally replaced pulleys and rollers. He installed a new state-of-the art garage door opener including a keypad and an extra remote.Due to the newness of the system, it was not compatible with my Homelink in my car even though my car is a 2011 model. Mike kept working at finding a solution, spending a lot of extra time. He was finally able to locate a Homelink training device that could send the necessary signal. Mike's perseverence was outstanding.

Description of Work: We had our gargage doors check and repaired. the service person was there on time. He explained in detail all the repairs that had to be done. We were pleased with the work completed.

Description of Work: Jessie and his team perfomed many updates to my (new to me) condo including painting the entire interior, installng a custom TV Niche above the fireplace, Installing sconce lighting and installing a pocket door to alleviate an awkward set of entrances - the doors collided with eachother. In addition, i discovered a leak in the kitchen which they also fixed. The team came on time, performed all the work in an extremely professional, polite and efficient manner, and cleaned up after themselves. This is the second time I have used JW Home Improvements and I will use them again.

Description of Work: The garage door on our house was a huge source of noise & embarrassment to me. Whenever the door was raised, it sounded like a plane was landing on the top of our home. Anyone who slept in the room over the garage, surely was awaken with a jolt anytime the garage door opened. Over the last 12 years, we had the door service at least three times; each time everything was oiled and changed out. But, not once did I think to have the metal rollers changed out. Finally, the noise was to much and it was driving me batty!!! I received an Angie's List deal email advertising, JW Home Improvement's deal which serviced my garage door and changed out the metal rollers for a great price. Everything from the initial contact with JW Home Improvement to the actual service call was professional. The serviceman Mike was on-time and courtesy. The job was completed in 75 minutes and ...I no longer have a plane landing on my house.

Description of Work: Jesse & his crew are great. We had them out for most of the month in Feb. to get our house ready to put on the market. Eduardo is amazing. There is nothing that man can't do!! I want to take him with me when we move out of state to help us get our new house ready. Price was fair. In fact, he hired someone else to do electrical, but they never came back to finish the job. We called Jesse & he sent Eduardo back to clean up the other guy's mess. Jesse is good about checking on his crew's progress. Highly recommend them. You may have to wait a few weeks to get on the schedule, but once they start, they stay until they are finished.

Description of Work: I joined Angie's List over the past weekend, and came across JW Improvements in my search. Jesse got back to me and we were able to arrange for an "appraisal" meeting Tuesday. I had a list of things I needed help with, such as replacing my front porch light; re-caulking the tubs in the 2 upstairs bathrooms; replacing the weatherstrip on the front door; repairing two kitchen drawers; re-caulking the baseboards along the stairs; cleaning the gutters; and replacing the leave screens on the gutters. It was estimated that these tasks could be accomplished by 2 members of Jesse's crew, and would probably take about 4 hours. Jesse also noted a couple of area of concern during our walk-through, which would be checked-out by his crew. By a stroke of extremely good luck, I was able to get an appointment for the repair work sooner than I expected. Marty and Roberto where at my house on time -- a REALLY funny story is associated with this, but that can be told at another time. While it took a bit longer than initially expected, both gentlemen were very professional and did a FANTASTIC job in fixing the problems that were catching up with me. One of the first things they repaired were the two drawers in the kitchen. After these drawers were fixed, one would think that it was Christmas all over again :-) After these tasks were completed, we chatted about additional things that they came across while they were working outside, which will be the objects of a future project. Would DEFINITELY use JW Home Improvements for projects, and would highly recommend them to others.

Description of Work: purchased a garage door tune up. The work was well done. Needed a new opener. The rep told me the one I had would last for a couple more years. Offered me a new opener with a keypad and two clickers at a good price. Showed up on time. The work was well done, he left the place clean and the new opener is great. The door opens faster and smoother, plus it doesn't slam closed any more. I would use this company again.

Description of Work: Jesse had come by earlier to take a look and give me an estimate. He was very professional and polite and accomodating. The gentleman who came by to do the work was great. He replaced my current exterior shutters which were dirty and peeling, and did a bit of exterior painting around the shutters. I had a big deal coupon and then paid regular rate for a couple of hours afterward. I'd definitely hire again.

Description of Work: Jesse Wertjes is an impressed, well mannered, knowledgable young man! His crew is equally as professional and knowledgable! NO SMOKING on premises and "neat attire" is a hallmark. The foreman and work crews are "Get It Done and Do It Well" kind of guys. They kept me updated on daily progress, as well as all costs associate with project. I had MAJOR leakage problems in my basement! To rectify this problem --- interior walls were striped, pipes replaced, walls rebuilt and painted, window and framing re-done, exterior front of basement excavated, ouse.foundation cracks addressed, water-proffing applied, new front porch is underway! Everything is back to working properly, and looks FABULOUS! At the time, I was in shock as I started getting other estimates for this project. I also was amazed to learn that many of the other bidders were not able to start a project ... nor complete it ... in a time period that was good for me. Jesse Wertjes came by in the morning, submitted an estimate on the spot, and was undertaking the work that afternoon! As for cost, the estimates were all over the place! I was always upfront that I had "X" amount to spend, but I wanted the job done properly. Some of the bigger companies were actually trying to talk me into doing "Bigger Picture" stuff, and not addressing the current issue. Jesse's job came in at a reasonable estimate ... only going a little higher a little when we discovered a leak in the main water line coming into the house! Overall, it was a painless experience --- which surprised me since I have had many others things done to my house! I would highly recommend JW Home Improvement!

Description of Work: I contacted Jesse for some cosmetic cement work for my front step. I had tried to do it myself and it didn't turn out so well. He said it would probably cost me less to do it myself and gave me tips on what to do. While he didn't do any work for me, his honesty and his commitment to doing a good and thorough job at a reasonable price would make me want to use him for future work.
