Description of Work: JW Home Improvement performed a tune-up on my garage door. This was the first time using them and I would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: Didn't use because of his telephone manner was so unprofessional that I chose not to use him.

Description of Work: Very personable person to talk to but unfortunately their work is not done in Frederick MD so I was not able to set an appointment date. I did tell him that most likely I could have it as part of a bigger job but he felt it was not possible for any of his workers or supplies to be a available for my location.

Description of Work: Hired company to repaired rotted decorative column bases. The carpenter did a better than mediocre job. However, after speaking with the main office, they issued my account a credit for the work. The amount indicated here is the amount paid prior to the issuance of the credit. I would like to emphasize this contractor's customer service is excellent, and they will continue to work with each customer until the customer is 100% satisfied. As a result, despite the quality of the work this time, I will consider that an anomaly, and will use them again in the future. Thanks.

Description of Work: I was relatively happy with the work by JW Home Improvement. The workmen were prompt and always came on time. If they were going to be late, they alerted me. The work to be done was a kitchen backsplash and install a vent hood for my stove. The kitchen backsplash work was done well, but not squeaky clean. The edges were a bit rustic and a small piece of our granite countertop got chipped. We asked the workmen to make sure the dishwasher was installed correctly, as it was not attached fully inside the cabinet. After the workmen left, the dishwasher immediately came loose from the cabinet. It is a few weeks later, and the workmen finally came back after the dishwasher started leaking badly over the weekend. Not sure if the leaking dishwasher was related to its improper installation, or if it was going to occur anyway. Nevertheless, the workmen came and said the dishwasher was broken and needed to be replaced. We decided to ask a repair service to first come and give us an estimate on repair (and what happened to cause it to leak so badly). Also, when the workmen replaced the hood vent for the stove, they did not paint, leaving unpainted wood showing. I would have thought that a professional service would have noticed that the wood would need a paint touch-up after the stove vent was replaced. But all-in-all, the professionalism of the company was very good, and I might use their services again.

Description of Work: Replaced bifold closet doors with swing doors.

Description of Work: I needed to have a wall constructed approximately 8 feet by 8 feet. I sent a picture to the company. The estimate I received was about $1,200 including taping, prepping, and painting. All I needed was the wall with a door on a hinge like an access panel so you could get to the two shut off valves. I felt the price was too high so I cancelled the purchase and asked for a refund.

Description of Work: I purchased a coupon for 3 hours of interior handyman service for $149. When I called to schedule the work by phone,the rep said they only did "minor electrical work" and couldn't replace a non-working bathroom electrical outlet. Another "handyman company" on Angie's List I'd contacted previously that had advertised minor electrical jobs as work they did was okay with replacing the outlet.I'll call before I purchase a Big Deal to clarify type of repairs work in the future. On a positive note, I easily got a refund from Angie's List Big Deal.

Description of Work: Owner was very gracious and more importantly candid about what he could and could not do. Unfortunately he is unable to perform the tasks I had in mind, but I would keep him in mind for easier work.

Description of Work: I don't typically write reviews. I came away so impressed that I'm writing this review right after the work was performed. A tech came out and repaired drywall. The tech was very professional and friendly. JW is definitely on my short list of handymen.

Description of Work: It took a while to get an estimator out. When he came, he thought it was an 80-hour job (we hired another handyman that did the work in about 20-hours). They did reassure us that we'd only be billed for time the handyman works, but it just seemed like they were going way over on the estimated time which gave us concerns about how quickly their crew would work.

Description of Work: Bought the garage door tune-up as a "big deal" being advertised. Technician did a great job replacing rollers and reducing the noise the garage door was making. However, my husband noticed that the garage door would not close all the way. As a matter of fact, he could put his hand under the door which he could not do before. We also noticed a decrease in temperature in our garage related the draft coming under the door. When my husband brought it to the attention of the technician, he indicated that he found the door this this way. I called to report that the door was not working properly and we were told that we would have to wait one month for another appointment. My husband contacted another garage door technician who came out the next day and repaired the door in five minutes. The rollers had been installed too tightly. Sometimes a "big deal" ends up costing you more money.

Description of Work: Repaired wood rot on exterior surfaces. Replaced screens on porch. Painted interior of porch and exterior. Great crew. Very punctual, let me know progress as the job proceeded. Definitely would work with them again.

Description of Work: We have old Merillat drawers which had broken and Merillat offers no replacement parts or recourse for older (15+) cabinets and drawers. We bought the $149 Handyman Special from Angie's List for JW Home Improvement and they sent a carpenter who did an excellent job of doing the needed repairs for us. We had to pay $11 for parts, which explains the cost being over $149. The owner of JW Home Improvement, Jesse, gave us the estimate (small job that it was) and Juan appeared to be an experienced carpenter and general handyman. We would definitelhy consider using this company again.

Description of Work: I used Jesse's team twice for drywall repair, paint, and various handiwork and it was all performed professionally. Very pleased customer here!
