Very professional, skilled, and communicated throughout this project. Work done well, on time, and completely. Will use them again - you get what you pay for - project done right the first time and on time.

Technician arrived on time, replaced drywall in stairwell and garage. Did a good job mudding/finishing the drywall. For the work accomplished, price was reasonable.

It was frustrating. A team of four people came by a month before the work to walk through the house and provide an estimate on many things that were outside the scope of the deal and sell us on their great customer service. The technician who came was loud and sang the entire time he was there (I worked from home at the time so I couldn't escape it), he left for several hours during the day and we still can't figure out if we were charged for that time he wasn't working. He dropped a heavy tool on our tub and broke part of it, and now, three months later, some of the caulking is starting to separate from the tub faucet. We spoke to someone from JW that day who guaranteed us they would take care of this by either getting the broken part re-glazed or replacing the whole tub if that wasn't a possibility. We followed up several times and heard nothing back and then receive an invoice for $400 a month later, which I've emailed about multiple times and still have gotten no response.

Went very well. Professional, did quality work quickly

The men were kind, professional, showed up on time and largely worked hard the whole time. They were able to tackle all the tasks requested of them and outcomes met expectations. My only issues were: 1) It looks weeks to schedule them 2) I paid X an hour for two supposedly equal skilled craftsman and I got one very experienced talented professional and one junior apprentice. Many times they had to work together on tasks when they should have been able to tackle things separately i.e. it was only a one man job that took two men because the other guy didn't know how to do it himself. Also one of the men was afraid of heights and some of the work required ladders etc. The junior man was helpful in translation, but I felt the English was good enough by primary we would have been fine. I would have rather paid for just one vs. same rate for 1.5. 3) I also was charged full price when one went to the store for a supply and the other sat in his car waiting for the guy to return. I feel like I should pay something for their time but maybe not full rate for those types of things. 4) I also was charged 4k before the work started and ended up tailoring down the list because that was estimated to only be 50% of the work. I ended up paying 1,800 more. Despite these issues I would recommend because I was really happy about outcomes and professionalism but felt over charged.

Work was done efficiently and well.

Not well. I actually should have listened to my instinct more. I contacted you regarding their fee collection practice - prior to visiting the job site, just to 'secure' the appointment. The job was quoted for $3,392 - $4,240 in labor. I was invoiced $6,612.45 - reduced from the original labor billing of $8,058.89 only after I pointed out obvious discrepancies. When I objected to paying the 2 person labor charges for lunch breaks I was told none were taken - even though we have video showing the technicians sitting in their truck in our driveway doing so. The explanation for the extra labor time was that our trim boards were installed with oversize nails. Really? When questioned about starting and ending times each day I was provided a receipt showing the technician's had purchased materials at Home Depot. When I looked carefully at the receipt I noticed that I was being charged for equipment and supplies, not materials for installation. When I pointed out the charges, they were removed. I asked, repeatedly, to review the job and billing with the owner who provided the quote but he has never called me. The workmanship was poor. I provided pictures and asked that the work be corrected. Bare wood had not been caulked or painted around window frames. Vinyl siding trim was broken and not replaced. Shingles adjacent to the roofline trim were lifted and stand up from the roof. Never again. An awful mistake.

I had 2 people out for estimates and no one could scheduled to have the work done. This is not how work should be done and they should pay me money for the time spent trying to schedule someone.

Went well. No problems and I would use again.

The final product looked good, but there was a slight communication difference for matching the existing trim. The trim installed matched the pieces in the overall board replaced, but not the continuing trim. That is, there are three sections of trim on a door; two sides and a top cross piece. The cross piece was not painted to match (not must labor and no materials), but team was packed up to leave when it was noticed. Also, based upon the receipt for materials, some of the wood that was to be replaced by PVC to avoid future rot appears to have been replaced by wood. I've contacted JWHI three times so far to explain, but I've not received the courtesy of a reply (since late December). Also, an additional "overhead" charge is added to all labor rates, unlike most companies that quote a firm labor rate. I discovered this when the additional costs were estimated, but the initial bill added the "overhead" to the four hours covered by the Angie's List deal, essentially adding more that 16% to the Angie's price. JWHI removed the surcharge applied to the Angie's List price. Overall, the work is acceptable in appearance today. Time will tell with the use of wood that his subject to future rot versus PVC expected that would not rot. I'm mostly disappointed with the poor communication, both to ensure the trim painted would match (I was not expecting the entire door to be painted, just the trim) and the courtesy of a reply. There may be a good explanation and I'd try another project with them again, but that cannot happen if there is no communication. I will update my evaluation appropriately once explained.

Delayed arrival due to another emergency, but actually took money off the bill voluntarily for the delay, which I appreciated. Otherwise, work was done as expected.

Results were fine; but the time required and scope of the job turned out to be greater than anticipated.

The work itself was excellent. My wife said the Tech was straightforward and honest about the work that needed to be done. We have a $30,000 back deck so spending about $800 to keep it in good shape was worth it.

Finished product looks great and functions just as well as I had envisioned. There was a billing error that I had to point out. They corrected it but it bugged me that they didn’t apologize for the error.

Alex did a great job. He was courteous, neat and made sure the job was done right. I think this was a good deal offered via Angie’s list.

I was not present while the work was being completed but the finished product was to my satisfaction. The two holes in the ceiling were repaired and the closest door was painted professionally. The quality of the work was good and according to reports, the employee was professional, respectful, and exhibited a good work ethic.

JW had and estimator come to my home to oversee the project and confirm a timeline, took pictures of the job and it was a brief professional meeting - it took less than half hour for our walk through, took pictures, discuss the job and set up an appointment for Friday, January 5, 2018 @ 12PM. On the day of scheduled work - Friday, the project manager informs me that it needs to be scheduled on Saturday @ 12PM. Boy, oh boy, I was not prepared for that - all I could say "WHAT??" and Miss Shaminga (the scheduler, receptionist, great communicator and AWESOME support) was able to calm me down. On Saturday, I called @ 12PM to confirm the arrival of my contractor and was informed that he was behind schedule due to him being delayed from the previous job that went over schedule. Miss Shaminga remembered that we talked the following day and informed me the contractor would assists me. I was ready to provide an horrible review because of punctuality; however, when Alex (the contractor) arrived and completed my Angie's List coupon of one man 3 hour work, it was worth the wait. Alex was professional, detail with measuring, patient, knowledgeable and most important focused on finishing the task. Although, my impression for JW was to give a bad review; however, having someone like Alex and Ms. Shaminga turn things around. Mr. Alex made me feel that he was one of my awesome family member who came over to fix/assist me with work around the house. Thank you, JW for fixing my items for the house and blessing me with your amazing team, who I feel are like a family member.

Went well. Ran out of time to complete the glass installation.

Although it took a couple of calls to schedule my appointment for the repair, I was very happy with the result. The estimator sent me a picture of the product recommended for covering the beam, which was really helpful as I was able to ascertain that I needed to order materials before scheduling the repair date. On the repair date they went out to buy other materials, paint etc, and called me from the store to confirm my preference. The gentleman assigned to my project was really friendly and made sure I was satisfied with his work before he left.

Awesome - my engineering son was impressed. My son is a stickler and a craftsman who tries to keep up with his large home, my home and his rental while running his business and being a great husband and dad. His initial disappointment that I went around him was replaced by his joy at the result. I will always use this group. The young man was extremely careful and thoughtful in his approach. He remeasured the Great Pyrenees twice to make sure the door would be in the right place for him. He got me to visualize the pictures on each wall and used a cool tool that projected laser lines on the wall to help in mounting. Another person came to inspect the work and talk about the job. These are my go to guys. I plan to call them every other month to keep on top of home maintenance and projects.

Fine, just dust everywhere, even though he and I purchase platic snd cloth covers.

Very well. Single contractor was quite professional and easy to work with. Work completed to my satisfaction—on time with total cleanup of the job site. My first choice for any additional projects.

The servicemen were prompt, friendly, and flexible.

JW Home Improvement was very responsive and my work was scheduled within days after the estimator was here. The price was reasonable and the guys who did the work were friendly and professional. I wouldn't hesitate to use them for other projects.

The person they sent was very good. If they weren't so expensive I'd hire again. They price all their work by the hour, no matter the skill required for the task. I bought a deal where i paid for two hours but got four hours of work. The value was good for the discounted price but I wouldn't have paid $100/hour for caulking.
