They gave an estimate for time and cost and both were reasonable. The work was professionally done and they were friendly and efficient.

Poorly. Estimate made was high. Refundable deposit was not refunded. This company was purposely misleading in my opinion.

This was our second use of the JW Home Improvement. The first time experience was wonderful. They were professional, did the job within agreed time and price, so we hired them again. This second experience was the polar opposite. We were seeking handyman services, but the estimator from JW turned each item on the list into a major job. We ended up with a coupon that we'd paid for, but no handyman services delivered, and no follow up call from the company to discuss. We ultimately hired another handyman who did a beautiful job within budget.

This is the second time we've had JW out to do some work . First time, they were great. The price is slightly higher than other quotes we got (as with our last job), but for communication and quality, a modest price difference is worth it for us. On this job, we had four tasks, 2 of which were quite involved in terms of time needed to do them well. Alberto and Javier finished up today. Over 2.5 days of work, they worked hard, were respectful of our things and family, the cleaned up each day, and performed what looks like some fantastic work. I should also add that, as with last time, Josh Metz was timely and thoughtful in how he priced out our job, including a sort of last minute change in scope that he was able to adjust the estimate to account for. We were glad to choose JW again, and they will be our first call next time we need some work done.

JW were very prompt to reply to our initial quote request in which we described using the master shower caused water to pour down the HVAC return duct and was collecting within the walls and causing water damage on the first floor and in the basement ceiling. We also reached out to see if they could resolve a water issue in a corner of the basement that had become oversaturated during the heavy DC rains this summer causing heavy mold within the insulation and a few rotted studs (in addition to moldy drywall). Josh quickly scheduled a time to come out and take a look at the situation and provided great upfront information regarding what he thought the issue might be (initially believed a ripped rubber liner in the shower), price estimate, and description of the teams they use to work on projects. He estimated 2 workers over 3-4 days for $5,952.00 to $7,936.00 dependent on the severity of the issue and materials required. Once we scheduled the work, Cesar was out on time (a little early every day) from Monday through midday Wednesday. On site Cesar let me know the issue actually seemed to be bad grouting and caulking from the original house flippers. He offered to re-grout the entire shower and re-caulk, then test the shower instead of tearing up the stone tile on the floor. The next day we tested the shower for 10-15 minutes and no leak! Luckily for us the issue was smaller than expected which saved us a lot of hassle and money and I'm glad he opted to try that before blindly tearing up the shower. Beyond the high quality of work in general, a few things stood out in my mind as to how customer-oriented JW is: 1) Cesar constantly checked in if he wanted our opinion on things before moving forward. 2) Within the main leak area, he sprayed anti-fungal solution to prevent residual build up. 3) In the basement leak area, they sprayed base-level drylock to help prevent further issues. 4) We had plans to paint the areas they worked on so we didn't require they to repaint but it was offered to us. When they learned we planned on painting, they primed the area so it was ready for us when we got to painting it. 5) The cleanup crew collected all leftover materials and some extra left by the original flippers. Overall the project came in under budget and under timeline. We were exceptionally pleased with JW and will continue to use them as we need services like theirs.

We've hired JW for everything from painting to plumbing, carpentry, pressure washing, outdoor and indoor work. The approach where you pay by the hour for all manner of tasks instead of parceling them out to different service companies has worked so well for us! They send the best person for your particular job. And they are consultants too...they will give you ideas on how to correctly complete projects, as well as save money when you can. We like how responsive the office is, how the owner is still involved with the day-to-day, and the quality standard that each technician applies to his or her work. And if anything comes up (as it does with home repairs and life), JW will work with you on it. We've worked with 5 different technicians and 2 different estimators for four different days of work at two different homes. Highly recommended!

I paid for and scheduled an estimate to be made. I was to meet the contractor at the home at 12:00 pm to 2pm timeframe. I carefully explained to the scheduling agent that It would take me over an hour to arrive at the home from my work and that I would not have a cell phone available to me; thus the contractor would not be able to contact me the day of the estimate. I did leave my work number with them. The contractor never arrived. I borrowed a phone to call the contractor and found out that after waiting at the house an hour and 45 minutes that the estimate had already been there and left and I was told I would have to schedule a new appointment (and take off work again). When I got back to work there was a message on my phone with the timestamp 12:01. The message that contractor left was "it is 12:01 pm and your are not at the house ... I am leaving to get to another appointment. Sorry I missed you." OK after my hour drive I was about two minutes late. I feel that If I take of work to have to wait a two hour window that the contractor should wait more then 1 minute for the home owner to arrive.

Very well. Handyman performed precise measurements and rehung when necessary. Dispatcher worked diligently to get the serviceman out in timely manner.

They emailed like 10 days after the inquiry with a very large quote. Total waste of time. Have not been able to successfully hire anyone from Angie’s list yet

This project was a big and very difficult challenging repair. The team from JW Home Improvement did a great job assessing the problem, identifying solutions, and solving the problem. Their repair team was professional, hardworking, and detail oriented. The communication was great. I will definitely call them in the future.

It was a great job. I've used JW Home Improvement before for inside small jobs. The estimate was well within the average for the job. The crew that came to do the removal of the old gutters and install the new system was terrific. Mr. Thomas Matamoros was the crew chief with assistance from Kevin and Gary. They arrived on time, worked hard and finished the job in the estimated time. Of great help, was the fact that they arrived at the beginning of the 2 hour estimated arrival time. Mr. Matamoros walked thru the expected job before starting the work. When it was finished, he had me inspect the work. No problems. They cleaned up well, no scraps of metal or screws, nails or other trash was left. Definitely will continue to use this company.

Fast, no effort on my part which I liked. I particularly liked the paint used was almost odorless.

Jesse came in and assessed the damage, tarped the roof to prevent further damage and found a cost effective way to correct the faulty gutter installation. JW came in, repaired the walls, re-installed the gutters and repainted. After only three days, the three rooms looked new again! I couldn't be more appreciative of everyone involved; great team, consummate professionals and always completing the job with a "do it right at the the best price" approach. Highly recommend JW!

At no fault of this vendor, the customer is still awaiting negotiations with the housing authority as to whether or not the proposed demolition will resolve the pending building code issues.

The estimate process was frustrating and clear as to job price or labor/materials. Then when I communicated and signed doc next day, no call back. Once I got their attention things improved. As for the actual technicians, Fernando and Jesus, they were the best. Knowledgeable and had to make all the correct adjustments for proper installation which estimator did not take into account. The stair railings are beautiful, secure and properly installed. They conferred with me as job progressed as to my choices of height etc. I am so pleased with thei techs. They know their stuff and made a beautiful addition. They worked clean. Drop cloths , shop vac , trash. I would ask for them again. All in all, even with early snags which delayed job, I would work with them again but make a request for these two talented techs.

Site visit was punctual and service call agent was professional and helpful, but I haven't received an estimate yet, so don't know if I'll use them or not, so can't rate. It's been a week, which I don't believe is unreasonable amount of time, so I'll wait a few days longer and see what happens. Winter is coming and I do want to move on my project, so I can't wait much longer.

They were upfront and honest that it was a unique job that would be a high quote for them. They provided a reference for someone they felt could do a better job for less. Appreciated the honesty

He was prompt and efficient, addressing all of the problems in a short amount of time. At his suggestion, I replaced the battery in the doorbell, but there are still issues. I will happily employ him again to resolve those problems. His understanding of how the doors were supposed to operate and how to make adjustments to each, depending on the specific problems was excellent. And he could not have been more pleasant!

Asked $50 to come out for an estimate. They must be extremely busy.

Fabulously! Jose and Chris did a great job! Jose's work on the interior garage door was absolutely wonderful! He found and fixed the problem, saw another problem with the door handle and fixed that, and when he was done, everything looked better then it had in years! After fixing the rot, power washing and painting the house looks better than it had in a decade!!!! The front storm door now works great on it's own, instead of us having to push it close. We are so happy! I am sending pics to my parents in Nebraska!!!

Outstanding. Alberto and Javier arrived on time, very professional, neat and perfectionists in performing the work. The deck and garage look like new! Doug was my contact in the office and he is one of the most professional, competent and exceptionally high degree of interpersonal skills that I've experienced in 40 years in dealing with companies. Josh was estimator and he was very professional as well. This was my 3rd time and I will continue to use and recommend JW Home Improvement.
