Description of Work: Measured and ordered 6 insulated glass units (IGUs). Took a couple of times to get the measurements perfect (all in one trip), and a bit longer than expected to receive the glass shipment. But overall, very happy with the work.

Description of Work: They cut off and polished one edge of a large second-hand mirror for a bathroom remodeling project. Charge was $35.00. When we found flaws in the mirror (not their fault), they cut a new one for us, for $182.00. Management and staff were all particularly good-natured and friendly, and the work was done well, although the new mirror took a few days longer than promised.

Description of Work: My dealings with this company was most unsatisfactory. They were supposed to replace the glass in most of our windows. They came out to measure the windows and a few days later sent us an estimate and told us that we have to pay half of the estimate, so they can order the glass and once they received payment from us, they will order the glass. A month later I called them (no contact from them whatsoever) and asked if the glass are in yet and if we could schedule installation. A week later (many phone calls and emails) it turned out that they never submitted our order, so our glass was not ready to be installed at all. So, they came out again to measure the windows and gave us another estimate that was about 20% higher than the first one and they also added a special glass for one of the windows that I did not request, but did cost twice as much as the glass I requested. I told them that we are not happy with their second estimate and because we have already lost so much time fixing the windows, I want my money back and I want to find another company to take care of my windows. It took me three weeks and many emails, phone calls, and a personal visit to the store to get my money back. During our entire communication the person I was dealing with never gave me his last name, nor his direct phone number or email, so I had to go through his secretary, who was most unhelpful and unfriendly (she even hang up on me once). Dealing with Gaithersburg Glass felt like I was being scammed and I do not wish the experience I had to go through on any one.

Description of Work: Was a 17 x 20 storm window repair due to a break-in (85 yr old female's house). Was told the repair would take 2-3 weeks. After no response after 4 weeks, a call was made and they seem to have trouble locating the order - finally found and the representative said they could have it ready by afternoon. Go figure!

Description of Work: We called the company to obtain an estimate for a custom dog door installation. The scheduler first said they would have to call back the following week to schedule a home visit as they wanted to combine our trip with another that had not been finalized. The next week, after not hearing from them, we called to follow up. They put me on hold for a few minutes, and came back and said that they could come out the following Wednesday afternoon, as their estimator would be in our area on another job. I reluctantly agreed to take off work to accommodate their schedule. 45 minutes into the hour long window I was given, I called the company to make sure the guy was still coming. After being put on hold for several minutes, I knew the news was not going to be good. They informed me that unfortunately, the estimator was not coming as he had been delayed and had meant to call me. A simple phone call would have gone a long way towards easing my irritation, but apparently that was too much trouble. If I can't trust them to show up, then I sure won't be trusting them to work on my house.

Description of Work: Gaithersburg Glass replaced a piece of broken glass in my basement window and provided 5 new screens. The were very pleasant and did a really nice job. Everything fit nicely. Clean job. They gave me a good price and I would definitely recommend them for window/screen repairs.
