DMV was extremely responsive, professional, friendly, and helpful from the start. The contractor who came to put together the estimate was helpful in assisting me in making good choices for the best price. He asked what I was looking for and what I wanted and made good recommendations. Their estimate for all labor and materials was the same as an estimate for JUST the shower stall work from a competitor (I did not tell DMW what the other estimate was). I went to the showroom to see their materials and was impressed with the quality and selection. When there was a miscommunication about scheduling, the owner contacted me directly and made sure that things would be on schedule within my timeline (I had people moving in at a certain time). The workers were friendly and polite. The flooring I chose turned out to be special order when it was normally carried in store. The owner made sure it was taken care of himself and explained the length of time it would take for the order and alternatives if I didn't want to wait (which I did). Everyone was on time and worked diligently. I was absolutely thrilled with all aspects of the work. At one point, my main drain backed up. The workers told me immediately that there was a problem, when I contacted the owner of DMV to ask for a referral to a plumber, he said one of his men could take care of it and called him right away. DMV went above and beyond to ensure that I was happy with the work and the materials. When an unexpected problem arose that was unrelated to the contract, they stepped up to take care of it rather than simply passing me off to someone else. I have dealt with numerous contractors over the years, I have never been happier. I wish I'd known these guys 10 years ago. Going forward DMV will be my go-to contractor for kitchen and bath work. Outstanding.

Oscar was great to work with - very professional and detail oriented. I received quotes from 4 contractors and he was very thorough in measuring out the space and looking into materials (more than others). We ended up using a different contractor who had done more work in the condo building/was familiar with the requirements on site - but I would have been happy to work with DMV!

Before I start my review, I would like to start by saying that I work for a large general contractor in the area and therefore have very high standards and expectations when it comes to construction. I mainly manage high end renovations for commercial office buildings (law firms, etc?). Although I do this for a living, I became slightly overwhelmed when we had to find a residential general contractor to do work in our home. We wanted to make sure that we did our research before bringing a GC on board. We finally ended up going to three different contractors for pricing. We found DMV on Angie's List and they had great reviews, so we added them to the list. They came in the lowest and also allowed us to do everything that we wanted to do. We decided to go with DMV based upon their pricing, reviews, and responsiveness. Their proposal showed cost breakdowns per area/item, which none of the other contractors included. They also did NOT include allowances in their proposal like other general contractors did. When you see a list of allowances in a proposal, make sure to question or walk away! You may end up paying much, much more than you are expecting to pay! Anyway, I did an extensive review of their contract and felt comfortable moving forward. We ended up working with Oscar and Javier. I cannot say enough good things about these guys. They were very responsive, which is something that I value a lot. I called them a lot and was very involved throughout the entire life cycle of the project. The guys met us whenever we needed them to and most importantly made us feel like we were their only client! That was huge for me! It's not easy to do and they excelled at that. They also worked Monday through Saturday, which helps. They even worked some Sundays to get the job done. Their crews were respectful of our house and even spoke very softly when we were around. Grover was one of our favorites! He did a lot of the finishing work and always had a great attitude. I know that they all work really hard and so I especially appreciate the positive attitude. One of the things that I appreciated the most with Javier and Oscar was their patience! We had a tough time deciding on some finishes, including the backsplash. Not once did we feel pressured into making any decisions. The guys were realistic about the consequences of waiting a bit longer to make our decisions, but they never pushed us. I really appreciated that. Oscar also met us at several different granite shops. We were very specific about what we wanted and he went the extra mile to try and find it! All of the countless hours of searching were well worth it! In construction, there are always going to be unforeseen conditions and other challenges that come up, either with materials or with existing conditions. DMV dealt with everything in a very professional manner and made sure that we were happy with the final product. When we finally decided on our kitchen floor tile, we found out that it was back ordered and that the tile would not be coming in until 4 months after we needed it. Needless to say, we could not wait. Oscar and Javier brought us several new samples and helped us find a tile that would work. We were very picky and it took a while to get the tile replacement, but we are very happy with the end result. There are always going to be problems in construction. The important thing is how problems are dealt with. They were very helpful and walked us through everything. I also think that is important to note that the guys did not nickel and dime us for little changes here and there. If there was a legitimate change, then yes, it would be a change order, but if not, it would go away. We had extensive plumbing work that needed to be done, as we moved some walls and our powder room. Several pipes had to be relocated. DMV went above and beyond what they needed to do and changed some extra piping that was in need of replacement so that we would have a cohesive and updated system. They took responsibility for this and did not come back for extra money. I think that it is important to mention that we had two very difficult tiles to install. One was an hourglass shaped glass tile that required many cuts and the other was a hand made subway tile that had uneven edges. They both look great! Orlando installed the subway ceramic tile. He did an amazing job. He made it look effortless, but he had to be very precise when installing because not all of the tiles were identical. All in all, I highly recommend these guys. They are very hard workers and I have a lot of respect for their work and their character. I was very demanding and not the easiest client to please. With that being said, I am very happy not only with the final result, but also with the process. I look forward to working with them again in the future!

We had a great experience with DMV which we hired to do a complete bathroom remodel. We met with lots of contractors and are very happy with our decision to go with DMV. First we worked with Oscar who was very knowledgeable and helpful. We knew exactly what we wanted and DMV was able to bring it to reality. Orlando and Eduardo were our crew and they were fantastic, they showed up everyday at 7:30 am and always put in a full day, sometimes 10 to 12 hours. They always prepared the house with drop clothes and plastic sheeting and did a thorough clean up each night. They worked everyday until the job was done. This has been the best contractor experience we ever had. When issues came up Javier or Oscar were always available and responded quickly. We definitely recommend DMV for all types of renovation, and we definitely will choose to hire again for any future remodeling work.

DMV was very responsive and flexible when scheduling time for us to come to the showroom to pick out materials. When the work started, they set up tarps on floors and hanging in hall to prevent dust traveling into the kid's bedrooms. The work was done very efficiently and we were very happy with the end product. I really liked that they tiled all the way up to the ceiling, whereas other companies we spoke to would only tile just past the top of the shower.

I needed to redo most of the master bathroom. Oscar at DMV helped me select a beautiful cabinet, knobs, faucet, granite countertop, flooring and so on. I had struggled with shopping for materials on my own. DMV made it easy - and all within my budget! Javier was the project leader. They began the job exactly when they said they would, arrived punctually every day, worked hard while they were here, and were very nice to work with! All of the work was completed smoothly and professionally. They left me a large deck of paint colors to make it easy for me to choose. They did all the purchasing and installation. They also were very generous about adding on a couple of extra tasks without even charging for the labor. Another contractor I had spoken with (before going to DMV) insisted that I could not re-do most of the bathroom without doing all of it (and he wanted $15000 for that larger job). I wanted to keep the shower, lighting, and toilet to reduce the cost. DMV put no pressure on me to do anything more than I wanted, and I am completely happy with the result. I would absolutely work with them again!

The folks from DMV, from the initial consultation with Oscar and Javier, to the final day of remodeling, were awesome. Their men were professional, efficient, responsive, and above all, eager and willing to work with us to fix any issues that arose. They stuck to the initial estimate regardless of some issues along the way that required extra labor and materials on their part. For example, when they went to turn off the water in the basement, they found a minor leak in the master faucet, which they fixed for us. They replaced that faucet with a more efficient one. They also replaced an outside faucet and the other master faucet on the inside ceiling which feeds it. This took an extra 4-5 hours and they still didn't add additional charges. The company that provided the tile for the kitchen backsplash sent an olive green color rather than the caramel color that we ordered. Since the boxes indeed read "caramel," we all assumed it was the correct tile and they went ahead and installed it. After installation, we realized it was a different color. DMV tried to get the tile company to replace it, but they wouldn't. The company said they warn folks that the tiles may be a slightly different shade and that it should be inspected before it's installed. Javier realized we were unhappy with this and said that his men would replace the tile with whatever tile we chose at no additional cost. You don't get this kind of service very often. All of the men at DMV were wonderful to work with; however, Orlando stood out in our eyes. He was such a pleasure to work with! In addition, Javier and Oscar were always very responsive, answering our calls and emails promptly and working with us to resolve minor issues that naturally arise during such projects. My wife and I are extremely pleased with the job that DMV did and would hire them back in a heartbeat. We also give them our highest recommendation. Do yourself a favor and look no further than DMV if you are one who is looking for fair prices, good workmanship, and great communication during your remodeling project.

We needed to gut and remodel the hall bath so we could share it with our kids after giving up our master bedroom / bath. We had many estimates and there was only one lower than DMV, and the work clearly would not have been of the same caliber. Oscar was the only one who looked at the room and came up with a design that included removing an interior wall and replacing it with half glass / half wall, moving the shower / tub plumbing, resulting in a much more open feel in the small bathroom (roughly 8' x 8'.) Oscar and Javier were both incredibly responsive and the crews they sent did terrific work. They were helpful and patient as we were choosing accent tiles and other details. Their tile guy takes great pride in his work and we are very happy with the final product. If we ever had a concern about anything along the way Javier made sure that it was handled.

Everything went splendidly and all work was done to highest standards. Workers were courteous, efficient and extremely helpful. I would recommend them without reservation.

This is an update review as I used DMV for my powder room upgrade in February. I had some crown molding installed and after a week, there were some cracks at the seams. I emailed Ibrahim and Javier, who were quick to respond that they will order me a new mirror and send someone to take care of the crown molding. I also let them know of still some areas that I wanted touched up, like the door frame. Orlando and another guy came out and they worked on the areas I noted needed touching up. They opened the new mirror and because of the packaging, the corner of the mirror frame was scuffed up and though Orlando touched it up. He let Javier know of the defect on the 2nd mirror. Javier called and wanted to let me know that he was going to get another new mirror for me even thought I told him that the fixed up scuff was something I could live with. He wanted me to be happy and stand behind the work so he still wanted to replace the mirror. DMV has been excellent with their approach to customer service and Javier has responded greatly to ensure 100% satisfaction. I would highly recommend them for any future work because they will keep coming back to address any big or minor issues.

DMV provided phenomenal service and value. We shopped and compared MANY remodel companies and they are the best...we couldn't be more satisfied with the experience and results. From the beginning our interactions were very pleasant. Javier sought to educate and offered extremely competitive terms in a low-pressure environment. He was flexible and patient and the result was a plan that was exactly what we wanted. His team was clean, fast, and considerate of the fact that we were living in the home while the remodel was being done. The materials and craftsmanship are top-tier and we now have a kitchen that is a real showpiece, and also incredibly pleasant to use. I believe other contractors would have been at least 30% more expensive and would not have offered the near-daily progress updates and satisfaction checks, nor the truly no-worry guarantee. HIGHLY recommend. DMV will be my go-to company from here on out. I recommend them not only on Angie's list, but also to my friends seeking a remodel.

I couldn't have picked a better company to work with and this comes from someone who's had contractors ranging from 1's all the way to 10's work in their home. The 1's are the ones that begin the work after taking a large deposit down and never come back to complete the job (shame on me for being too trusting, I guess). The 10's are the ones that do the job the way it ought to be done without cutting any corners and stand behind their work and honor their warranty. I would categorize DMV Kitchen and Bath to a 10 out of 10. The reason I give them a 10 out of 10: 1) Their skill-set. Like I said, I've had a lot of work done around the house over the years and have had all kinds of contractors come through my door. This particular project was among the more challenging ones and these guys did it seamlessly. I'm a very particular person and I insist on a perfect finish. These guys did not disappoint me. 2) Their fair estimate. I had an estimate from 3 companies from Angie's list with exceptionally high reviews and picked DMV Kitchen and Bath because they were the most reasonable. 3) Their professionalism. I found these guys to be very professional. The team is very respectful - not just to me, but the manner in which they treated our home. Everything was covered with drop-cloths and plastic and they always cleaned up after themselves. 4) Their Promptness. They show up on time. If they're delayed on the road due to traffic, they'll be courteous and call to inform us. 5) Their Updates. I loved how I would always be informed of all the progress they made each day. To conclude, I would hire DMV Kitchen and Bath because I've finally found a company I can trust.

One bathroom was changed from a tub and shower to a walk in shower. The tile work on both bathrooms looks great. We were able to pick out tile, vanities and fixtures from samples at DMV's showroom quickly and with little hassle. I would recommend DMV to anyone looking for good quality and a good price for bathroom remodeling.

I received a fair quote from Ibrahim for the powder room. DMV was my 5th estimate and found them them to have the best quote with included selection of materials, plumbing, and electrical work. I met Ibrahim at their show room, selected the tile, vanity (which he helped to select as I really wanted a white/cream color), fixtures, and ordered the specific toilet that I wanted. His crew came out as scheduled and began to take out all the old fixtures, flooring, toilet, etc and laid down the tile. We had initially asked to switch the swing of the door but I realized that we really needed to just get a new door. They were good about picking up things at Home Depot for me. We had a little few hiccups with the toilet being shipped broken so they had to reorder and the marble vanity top had to be re-cut as there was a miscommunication about the size. Javier was our project manager and he was fantastic! However, I have to say that quality is all in the details and the initial guys that came out did a sloppy job of painting. The trim around the door was not clean and there were 'drippings' along the edge of one side of the wall. For a small powder room that's not tiled, the paint job is what's noticeable and I'm disappointed in the painting and trim work. There were a few small scratches that I noticed on my marble top and I noticed that some of the base tile trim was not grouted fully because it was in the corner. Though Javier was great in responding and sent different guys to correct, it was still trying to fix mistakes. I would use them in the future but definitely not for any painting or trim work. They need a different crew whose skill set is painting and going over details before the job is complete but both Ibrahim and Javier, sales and project manager, were great with communication, friendly, and professional.

Good response. We needed to change the cabinets and install a new range hood including venting it to outside the house. They came promptly to make an estimate, and was able to start within a week. We needed them to finish by a certain date, and they even came during the weekend to ensure the project was done right on time. Very professional, prompt, and courteous. The work area was nicely cleaned up after each day. Price was good. Very happy with them.

I was upgrading a galley kitchen and two bathrooms in a Kentlands condo which I had just purchased as a rental investment. I was installing premium appliances in the kitchen and wanted to do the other needed upgrades within a compressed time frame to be able to show the property sooner to prospective tenants. Using Angie's List, I contacted DMV kitchen and Bath online on Tuesday, 2/4/14, stating that I wanted to replace the existing countertops with stone and install an under counter stainless steel sink and new faucet and sprayer. I provided the counter measurements. Javier responded with an email estimate later that day. I went to their showroom two days later, Thursday, 2/6/14, to select the granite, sink and faucet fixture. I also mention that I needed to replace the kitchen and bathroom flooring in one bathroom (later change order to include installing a second bathroom floor and installing two new bathroom faucets). I executed a contract. That was Thursday. Friday morning 9:00 am the next day, the granite guy was at my door to take measurements of the counters. I found out that 7:00 pm that evening, he cut the stone. Saturday morning 8:30 am the next day, four workers were prepared to take out the old countertops, remove all the old flooring and start laying the new floors. At 11:30 am, the granite guy, Nagi, was there to install the new granite countertops, sink and faucet. Over the course of the day ten DMV staff were there including Javier and by 7:00 pm Saturday evening, all the work was completed and looked outstanding. I know that not all renovations move that quickly or perform that well, but it showed me the willingness of DMV to pull its resources together to meet my particular need and tight time frame. My job was a small job and the company could easily have blown me off or put off my work until later (you know the drill, start the job and then don't show up for days leaving you hanging). I will use them again in the future and will refer them to friends, especially the ones with DIY intent but no skills like me.

DMV did a complete kitchen remodel for us, literally from floor to ceiling. The entire process was quick and as hassle free as we could have hoped. Our project was estimated to take 2-3 weeks, and though it ultimately took closer to 6 weeks, the delay was due to issues that were out of DMV's control- back ordered appliances and backsplash tile which we chose. We received estimates from 3 companies- all stand outs we found from Angieslist, and DMV stood out both in price, as well as our satisfaction with the estimate process. Ibrahim came to our home and was both prompt and respectful. He was even able to send us an initial computer generated design of our new kitchen that same day. Our kitchen remodel included a complete gutting of our old kitchen with new cabinets, etc., and also included the removal of a wall, hardwood floors in the kitchen and foyer (along with refinishing to match existing hardwood), recessed lighting in kitchen and living room, and installation of an external sliding glass door where one had not previously existed. Additionally, during the course of the project other issues were identified which Ibrahim and our project manager, Javier, handled in stride: unexpected problems, minor requests from us, and additional electrical panel work. We were particularly impressed by their ability to handle these issues as they came up, all while keeping true to their original estimate (and not nickel and diming us for every little thing). We did end up paying a little more for the additional electrical work, but given the age of our home, we were expecting much worse, and were expecting a bill in the thousands of dollars as opposed to the hundreds that we were actually charged. Javier and Ibrahim were both responsive to calls, texts and emails, and were quick to address anything we brought up. Just as importantly, their work crews were reliable and extremely hard working. There were numerous days when they stayed late into the evening in order to finish their days? work. Either Ibrahim or Javier stopped by every 2-3 days to check up on the progress, and double check on our satisfaction. We were very happy with our experience with DMV, and would definitely recommend them or return to them with our own work. Their prices were reasonable, their work was great, and they were very willing to work with us through anything that came up. Thanks DMV!

We had our master bathroom and closet completely remodeled. We essentially moved the bathroom into the closet and turned the old bathroom into the closet. This remodel involved significant new plumbing and a lot of outside the box thinking. We received 4 quotes before settling on DMV. DMV wasn't the lowest or the highest but they have an excellent reputation on Angie's list and were able to easily provide us a detailed quote with a model drawing from various angles. The pride and joy of the remodel is our large walk-in shower. DMV did an excellent job with every detail of the shower. There were some issues pointed out by the inspector but they were resolved with minimal delay and no additional cost. With a project of this size there are always a couple of minor issues (center the mirror with the sink, scuffs on the cabinets, wrong color rug, etc.). DMV fixed every minor issue we pointed out with no questions asked and no additional costs. Three months after the project was completed, and the last payment was made, we pointed out some picking issues we had with the final finishes and DMV came out right away and fixed everything. The DMV crew was professional, courteous, and respectful at all times. I would definitely have DMV help with another remodeling project in the future.

We used DMV for kitchen remodeling over the summer, and after a nearly flawless experience with that project we decided to remodel an upstairs bathroom during November. Once again DMV did not disappoint, we experienced nothing but highly professional interactions with not only the front office (Oscar Perdomo and Javier Nogales) but with all of the workers as well. Oscar and Javier were very patient with us while we decided how we wanted the bathroom configured, and during the design process they were very helpful in providing guidance. We were dreading having to deal with demolition, dust, noise, etc., but the DMV team did a remarkable job in minimizing the disruption. The demolition was completed in a single day and they were diligent about containing dust and debris. They built the new bathroom with remarkable speed, in part because they knew we were planning visitors for the holidays. We really appreciated this extra effort on their part. Every aspect of the work — the tiling, the floors, the drywall, the painting — was executed with care and professionalism. They finished ahead of schedule and left us with a beautiful bathroom that depicts high quality workmanship. We give DMV the highest recommendation and will certainly return to themfor future work.

We use this company 1 year a go and we had a really good experience, for this new project we didn't hesitate to contact them. on this project we receive the same or even better service, we are very satisfied with the management and very professional workers, Javier was the project manager same as before he was always available at all the time or if we had a questions he will answer or stop by the job site to make sure everything was ok. The work went very well. They started on time and kept asking questions to make sure they were doing everything we wanted. The tile work was great. They made sure every cut was exact. They fixed drywall that previous company did and they did not charge extra. i was very pleased with their work and i am having them come out to work on my kitchen and install new floors.

DMV remodeled a small guest bathroom for us, and we are very happy with the outcome. They were affordable, the end result looks great (especially the tiling), and they finished ahead of schedule. On top of that, they were able to utilize limited space well, allowing us to install a larger, more functional, sink than we had previously had. We will call them again for future renovations.

We got a few estimates for this work and DMV was competitive if not a bit cheaper than the others. We liked their approach and they were able to start the work soon. We hoped to have everything finished by Thanksgiving - and it was. This was our first renovation project and we decided to have them begin work before we had made all of the decisions about the lighting, tile backsplash etc. They warned us this would slow down the project but we preferred the incremental approach so we could be sure that we got the style we wanted - as the work proceeded. We especially wanted to match the backsplash to the counters but we now realize that created a significant delay since most tiles can take up to two weeks to order. If you are sure you know what you want then you might be better off ordering everything prior to starting the project. The DMV crews were all fantastic. As many have said before, they were polite, on time, professional, and eager to please. Every single contractor took pride in his work and the end product shows this. They came each day on time and were willing to adjust their schedule to days when we could stay home. We thought it best to be there and indeed questions arose throughout the day that needed our attention. They always cleaned up carefully before they left for the day. They began by removing the center island cabinet and then taking up the old vinyl flooring and sub-flooring. Then they removed the corian countertops. They also had to unhook our appliances which they moved to an adjacent room. Ibrahim was very generous with his time as we visited a warehouse site to pick out our granite which we wanted to match to the cherry cabinets (we chose White Spring which looks terrific). The floors were installed next and I have to say that I was concerned about matching the new floor to our existing oak flooring but the match is near-to-perfect with no transitional piece - they just cut and pieced to the existing floor and matched the stain. Once the floor was finished they moved the island to its new spot and then came to install the countertops. They look amazing and are a great match to the cabinets. For us, choosing the backsplash was the hardest part of the job. We thought the allowance in the contract was reasonable but as we shopped we decided that we really wanted marble. We found a good match and price at Best Tile but the project was on hold while the tile was ordered. Two weeks later they came back to install the backsplash and everyone loves the total look. Finally, we had all new lighting installed and the ceiling painted to match. At each stage they were always willing to work with us and consider our views. Javier made sure that we had his cell number and he told us to call anytime, day or night, if we had questions. Sometimes communication with the workers was a bit of a challenge due to language issues but we only had to call Javier and everything was worked out immediately. They even came back after we paid them to take care of a few minor details. We can't say enough good things about DMV. The end result is proof of their patience, their dedication to detail and their professionalism. We have three baths that also need renovation and we will not consider using anyone else for the job. The guy was on time for the appointment to look at my reno projects. Told me he would provide a price estimate within 2 - 3 days. I didn't hear from him so I called after 4 days, quote received.
