We are pleased to provide an excellent rating to DMV Kitchen and Bath on their superb kitchen and bath remodeling work in our 26 year-old home. After comparing their proposal with a few other proposals and estimates, we chose them for a major remodeling task involving our large kitchen, master bath, guest bath, and powder room including all the faucets and shower heads. DMV Kitchen and Bath has done a great job and the project was completed in a timely manner within the estimated cost. During the entire project they sent polite workers with a variety of skills who cleaned up the work space every day after work. DMV Project Manager, Mr. Javier was very knowledgeable and willing to accommodate when we added additional remodeling work in the rooms adjoining the kitchen for reasonable cost. Here is a description of the remodeling work done by DMV Kitchen and Bath: For our Kitchen, DMV did the whole renovation of our kitchen starting from replacing the floor tiles, replacing the cabinets and installing the Granite counter tops and Granite Island. We asked them to relocate our Island Cooking range to move it to the wall, to create an Island Counter Top and sink with faucet. They did a great job including recessed lighting with modification of the ceiling, and based on our request provided with dimmer and dual control. We are very pleased with our kitchen remodeling done by DMV Kitchen and bath under the leadership of Javier who is the most knowledgeable and would accommodate changes or request from us. They also did the painting installing crown molding all over the kitchen area and the family room. DMV Kitchen and Bath takes pride in the work they do with the least disturbance to the customers. They were very punctual getting to work on time every day 6 days a week, working ten plus hours each day. The floor tile and back splash done by the team with Javier's guidance was done very artistic and precise. Nogi, who did the granite work all over from kitchen to the powder room, master bath, dual sinks, shower wall and guest bath room did a superb job. The tile work was also done on the hall way with the painting all over and did a great professional job. For our master bath, DMV designed and installed beautiful granite shower walls, frameless shower glass door, floor tiles, recessed lights, granite counter top, and tiles with glass back splash around the bathtub. For the hall-way bath, they designed and installed beautiful tiles on the floor, tiles with glass tile around the tub, granite counter tops, and vanity. The Project was managed by Mr. Javier who excelled in his customer care working with us every step of the way to complete the project on time within the budget with attention to details. His project team consisted of a number of well skilled and polite members like Maynor, Marcos, Lewis, Nogi and Rubin. We are very pleased with the quality of the work performed by DMV and will be glad to provide referrals for prospective DMV customers. We would highly recommend DMV Kitchen and Bath to anyone looking in to remodeling, and will assure that they are very efficient, dedicated and affordable.

If given a rating scale of 1-5, with 5 being best, I would give DMV a 10!!! It is so hard these days to find not only exceptional quality work, but work that comes in on budget and on time. We have worked with DMV for four years on many projects and they have never disappointed us. If you need quality work at an affordable price, DMV should be your choice. The good communication between us and DMV, the lack of misunderstandings and frustrations, has been a huge part of our satisfaction in working with them. Javier Contreras, one of the owners, exemplifies the integrity and and quality of work and follow-through that is rare to find these days. DMV Kitchens were great and very easy to work with. Very punctual and professional and worked so hard and long hours every day they came. They would come every day without a break in service unless waiting for something to be delivered. All their employees were very nice and at the end of each work day, would would leave our house like no one was ever here. They were happy to accommodate us when we made changes as the process was taking place and did it without hesitation. DMV Kitchen made this hard and long processes as easy as it could be from the very start with the kitchen design, picking out the cabinets, back splash, and hardware. They want to make the customer happy and bend over backwards to comply!

After meeting no less than three Angie?s List A rated vendors and receiving estimates, my wife and I found DMV?s process and detailed estimate most reasonable. The other vendors were vague or broad in their descriptions of what hardware we were getting and the scope of the work they were committing to. After making a trip to Gaithersburg, me and my wife chose the bathroom tile, flooring and cabinets. We went to a separate provider to determine the marble we wanted to use. There was a lot of back and forth via email with the representative to narrow down options and ensure we were getting what we anticipated. Neither side seemed to mind the back and forth as we ended up with a finely detailed and accurate estimate which managed everyone?s expectations. The work took about 5 weeks. Javier (foreman), who we initially met at the warehouse in Gaithersburg, was there on the first day to answer any last minute questions and give his staff the basic plan and he let them take it from there. I can?t say enough about Javier and his customer service ethic. The workers were conscientious and took care to use drop cloths, removed shoes and use general precautions to avoid damage to my property. At times, there was a bit of a language gap. I was able to relay my wishes/concerns through broken Spanish and all of my concerns were eventually addressed. Issues: As I was home a large part of the time during this construction, I readily observed the work being done. I did find the carpenters cutting corners when they were reinforcing a load bearing wall with 2x4s. The work was clearly not to code, so I texted Javier with a photo and the work was redone. For the most part, the work was beautiful. DMV installed a custom shower with 6 shower heads as well as a new tub, toilet and marble sinks with cabinet. There was quite a bit of minor rework throughout the project as in retiling, resealing, repainting, cleaning up paint, cleaning up grout and bringing it up to the details of what I expected for a job this expensive. Through any request for fixes or rework, there was never a grumble or question. It just got done. Grover, another excellent tradesman, did a lot of the rework and follow-up to close out the job and he did a super job. There were some issues with cleanup and one time I was lucky to find a carpenters razor blade in the grass (where they were working) before my children did. During the entire project, I texted Javier as needed anytime and he responded immediately. DMV did not leave the project until it is done to my satisfaction. At closeout, Javier met with me to get final payment and discuss the overall project. Update: Over a year later and Javier from DMV sent Orlando to remove my shower seat and repair the wall to my satisfaction. They also researched a leak coming down into my kitchen which they repaired no questions asked. I would not hesitate to use DMV again!

A big project like this is bound to have some road blocks. But we are very happy with the overall results. The owner of the company, Javier, is very polite and professional in addressing all of our questions, concerns, and requests. The main issue is with the range hood, which was not delivered on time, and we had to wait for a couple of weeks. During the waiting period, Javier arranged to have all other work completed to the best possible condition, and we had a propane stove setup in the garage for cooking. The contractors are very helpful in helping us setup the cooking area in the garage, and they even run water lines with shut off valves (we did pay additional for the plumbing work, and it's a very reasonable price). Now we have an extra BBQ area for the summer time!We ordered a the microwave to put on a shelf wall cabinet, but it's too deep for the cabinet. Javier helped design a way to put the microwave in as a "build in" one, which turns out to be more professional looking, even better than an open shelf look. We also changed our initial backsplash design on the fly, and Javier was able to accommodate it without any additional charges. Kitchen remodel is probably the most exciting and stressful home improvement project, and DMV definitely did a great job in making the whole process easyand less of a disturbance to our daily life. We'd definitely hire them again for our other remodel work.

Outstanding!!! The overall process was very easy and went very smoothly. Oscar, the project manager, helped us throughout the entire process. After calling DMV they came out and provided us with an estimate. Being much cheaper than our other estimates we decided to hire DMV and contacted Oscar back for scheduling the hire. We met at the showroom in Gaithersburg, picked out our cabinets, granite, tub, etc.. and from that point forward it was a done deal. The workers showed up on the agreed upon date. They were very clean, neat, responsive, and respective of our home. I even left them at my house unattended while I went to pick up my son from school. The project was completed on time and went much smoothier than I had anticipated. We have a powder room and a master bathroom that we would like to remodel within the next few years and I will definitely call DMV Kitchen and Bath for those projects. Choosing a company for expensive remodels like kitchens and bathrooms can be exhausting, however rest assured if you go with DMV you will be getting a top notch company who delivers on the services they provide and only use the best of products.

DMV did a great job, we are very happy with our new kitchen, powder room and wet bar. DMV workers were very skillful and dedicated. We were very impressed with the close attention they paid to every detail of the product. They were also very polite and accommodating, willing to redo things to make us completely satisfied. For example, they repainted the family room walls with a new color when we changed mind on the color after they already painted the walls with the color we initially selected. They worked very hard, arrived at our house early in the morning six days a week and worked long hours each day. They worked four weeks straight except for 3 days off around the July 4th holiday. We appreciated very much their diligence. DMV also fixed a number of small things around our house, some of these were identified early and were included in the scope of work, but some were identified late; DMV fixed all these without additional charge. We think DMV is a dependable company for good quality and good value. We highly recommend them and will hire them again for future work.

Working with DMV was easy, especially with Evan, who helped me plan and select items and finishes. Evan was my lifeline and coordinated the entire process, which was completed a week ahead of schedule. The guys who were doing the work were all very skilled and were polite always. They worked long hours and it was obvious they took pride in doing a good job.

Because I am planning to relocate to Florida in September, the circumstances have changed and I will not be able to enjoy the wonderful work DMV planned. The estimate included new solid wood cabinets, new flooring, lighting, high grade appliances and granite counter tops.With new appliances, it was expected that the price per square foot would increase as the total square feet of the kitchen decreased. The kitchen was a condominium kitchen requiring everything fit into just 77 square feet (11x7). The estimate was for $32.9K making the cost per square foot at just over $400 per square foot. Since I am selling the place, a new kitchen would add approximately $15K to the value of the condominium resulting in a $15K overall loss for me. That is why I requested the project stop before materials were purchased and labor started. I live in NW Washington DC in a 9 story condominium. I checked with several other contractors and found that they were either too busy during the summer or they refused to work in buildings in DC over two stories because of past issues with building management support for necessary activities like temporary water shutoff during construction. Only DMV was ready and willing. Rolando was very nice and professional from the start and continued to be nice and professional after the request to stop. I really appreciate Rolando and DMV.

Thanks again, DMV Kitchen and Bath! DMV previously did a renovation of our guest bathroom, and we couldn't be happier! Upon reflection, their patience with us was remarkable. But we think we were always reasonable, and open to suggestions, as was Javier Nogales (Projects Manager), who consistently responded with congeniality and a "can do" attitude. For that we are grateful. Now they've done it again -- completed three more great renovations for us. We now enjoy a wonderful renovated new kitchen, a renovated master bathroom, a renovated guest bathroom, and a renovated first floor powder room 1/2 bath. All projects are absolutely beautiful. We are extremely pleased with the craftsmanship of all the workers assigned to these projects by Javier (tilers, carpenters, electricians, granite specialists, installers, plumbers, and painters). The workers were multi-skilled, and demonstrated pride in doing the jobs right: Maynor and Marcus; Glover, Johnny and Fernando; Nogi and Ogi (the granite guys), Avaro and Omar; Dennis, Orlando and Alverto, Angel and Jose, Reuben and his helper. At the end of a day's work, after scrutinizing their own work first, they would call us to observe and approve. On any given day, the multi-talented Orlando (a DMV project manager and quality expert), would come by and proceed with his detailed inspection of everything. Additionally, Evan Guerrero would frequently contact us and/or the workers to let them and us know he would be coming by, sometimes with Javier to see if work was progressing as planned, and to our satisfaction. We were pleased with each worker's attention to detail. We had differences on a few issues, but these were usually resolved by our persistence and by quick electronic responses from Javier or Evan. "OK . . . we can do that if it's what the customer wants," was what the workers would hear from Javier or Evan. Adjustments would be made immediately by Oscar Perdomo, in the office, who would insert them into the scope of work plan or contract, and email them to us to review and sign off. We were able to contact Javier, Oscar, or Evan anytime of the day about any issue or concern. The workers were always energized to work; they were consistently cordial, respectful, and helpful; good guys! Our four projects are now complete. Overall, these were challenging, unique , tough projects. We did not constantly look over their shoulders, but we were involved from the beginning to end. The key to our satisfaction was communication. DMS's prsonal touch and customer service were refreshing. Our selection of DMS was the right choice!

We are really happy with our bathrooms. DMV completely renovated our full and master bathrooms. Oscar was very helpful, and patient, in helping us choose all the new tiling, cabinetry, countertops and fixtures. Oscar was totally accommodating and always available to offer suggestions during this process. On the day we signed our contract we met with Javier and Oscar who assured us that DMV wanted us to be completely satisfied with our bathrooms and they would do whatever it took for that to happen. The project started on the day promised and we were amazed at how hard and long hours the men worked (even Saturdays). There were six or seven different workers throughout the project. All of them were friendly, courteous and cleaned up after themselves when leaving each day. We were especially happy with the good job that Darwin and Eber did in paying attention to detail. Darwin did an excellent job on the tile work in the master bath. As with any contracted work there were a few issues. Oscar was always available to work on resolutions. We spent a lot of time (approximately three months) talking with neighbors, internet searching and visiting showrooms and getting estimates before going with DMV. We are very happy with DMV and would use them again.

This is a project we had put off for quite some time. We obtained quotes from four different contractors and decided to go with DMV. The price was not the lowest but it was not the highest, either. The salesperson, Oscar, put us at ease immediately by addressing our needs and asking the right questions at the first visit. He was professional, courteous and knowledgeable about what could and could not be done. He helped us figure out what design would work out best in terms of functionality and design. Upon meeting Javier, the owner, we quickly realized that he was the reason this company is successful. He sets the tone for his professional, courteous and talented staff. Both Oscar & Javier were easily reachable by email and by phone throughout the project. The work began and was completed on time. The crew would consistently check to make sure everything was completed to specs and as we expected. A couple of times, I even made some changes and they easily accommodated. The technician that installed the tile took immense time in making sure the tile was placed just right and with the best use of space and materials. I don't think he could have been more diligent if he were working in his own home. I could go on and on but the bottom line is that I did not have one minute of regret for hiring this company. The personal, professional and excellent service is something every company should aspire to. They will be doing another bathroom (or two) for us in the coming months.

DMV Kitchen and Bath was an excellent contractor choice for us. We requested quotes from three companies including DMV. We were most impressed with DMV?s responsiveness and presentation; they grasped the scope of the initial limited renovations we desired, and cordially allowed us to amend and expand the scope of work as it progressed. Our suggestions were always congenially discussed and evaluated for implementation by Javier Nogales (Projects Manager), even if rework was required. We were exceptionally pleased with his entire renovation team. Evan and Oscar (Sales, Design and Contracting), were always prompt, responsive, and accommodating as work progressed. The interaction and collaboration were superb. They consistently listened to our ideas and suggestions and consulted on updating the scope of work. Javier?s cordiality and professionalism were refreshing. We were also impressed with the worker-bees (Maynor, Marcos, and Luis). They arrived promptly every morning and did sustained work nonstop throughout each day. They were deliberate, attentive to the details, and asked for clarifications, when needed, which they conveyed immediately to Javier, Oscar, or Evan in the office. The workers (carpenters, electricians, granite installers, painters) were always very polite when they came to the house; they were knowledgeable, thorough, and fast. DMV let us be actively engaged in the project from beginning to end. We were impressed with their patience, dedication, and diligence. They provided us with a beautiful bathroom. Make your needs and expectations clear, and DMV will do a great job for you. Their customer service responsiveness was excellent. Great work, DMV!

On time, within scheduled time period and no problems.

DMV came in for an initial cost estimate and design conversation. They came up with the best design to make the best use of the available space. Overall, they did a great job. There were a few things I would have made more clear with them upfront but they were relatively minor. I was a bit disappointed with the electrician they used as I had asked for all of the outlets to be upgraded and even purchased new outlets that simply had to be installed, however, this was not completed. I chalked that one up to a simple miscommunication. Otherwise, I was pleased with the work which came in on budget and on-time. I would hire DMV again.

I have a beautiful new kitchen. DMW and Oscar were great. I tend to be a patient person so any concerns/questions I had were addressed and worked out very professionally to my satisfaction. A hiccup did occur to which Oscar and Javier addressed/solved expeditiously; again, to my satisfaction. I was ready to do cabinet refacing: DMV provided me a reasonable quote for new cabinets. I, however, added upgraded cabinets and additions until it became a full blown kitchen remodeling project. I am glad I did. Oscar was very helpful with the additional design, selection of backsplash tiles, cabinets, and under counter lightning, etc. I was impressed with the skills and diligence of the workers (electrical, plumbing, lighting, tear out/replacement of new, etc.) I am particularly fond of the way my backsplash tiles are arranged in fact they offered me a choice of how I wanted them patterned. I would definitely recommend and use DMV for other projects.

They were on time. I received a partial estimate 4 days later. I requested terms for the estimate (payment terms, permit details, etc) which I never received.

It was great. They came and gave an estimate. They helped us figured everything out. The demolition took 4 days. They did great taking everything out. They hauled everything away. They made sure the refrigerator was working the whole time. They put the counter-tops and appliances in. The price was reasonable.

We contacted DMV based on Angie's List reviews after another contractor failed to show up. DMV's estimator came out and gave us an estimate on the spot. When we asked for expedited service, he arranged for Javier, the project manager, to meet with us the next day. The following day (Saturday) they sent a man to measure for the countertop and another crew to do the necessary demolition and haul away the old counter, sink, and associated plumbing. The work began the following Tuesday and was completed by 5:00 on Wednesday. Every step in the process was completed with professionalism and meticulous attention to detail. When they encountered problems such as a leak in the main water line valve and missing parts to the new water filter assembly, they provided the necessary parts and did the repairs without skipping a beat. Javier was available whenever we called with questions and he accommodated all of our scheduling needs. Contractor experiences with this old house of ours has ranged from OK to absolute nightmare over the years, so we have learned to approach these needs with caution. Our experience with DMV was by far the best. We would highly recommend them to anyone without any reservation or hesitation.

DMV arrived on time every morning and completely cleaned up at the end of each day. We communicated with the workers each morning about what was to be done and how we wanted things done (e.g. tile work, placement of light fixtures, etc.). All of the DMV employees seemed very eager to please and were very hard workers. The same crew came for most of the work, but on a few occasions, different guys came for some finishing touches. When the granite guy, shower glass guy, or the electrician needed to come, someone from DMV was always there to meet them so that we didn't have to come home from work. In fact, we didn't have to take any time off work during this remodel. They worked very quickly and the remodel didn't take as long as expected. Any delays had to do with items ordered that were on back order and had not been received. Waiting for the glass for the shower enclosure took the longest-about a week. DMV did a great job with our master bath remodel. But what makes them standout as EXCELLENT in my mind is what happened about 6 months after the job was completed. On the Friday night preceding Memorial Day weekend, we noticed water dripping from the ceiling in our dining room. The dining room is directly below the master bath, so we called DMV. They responded immediately even though it was after 5 pm on a holiday weekend. They recommended turning off the water in the house, which we did, but the water continued to pour out of the ceiling! At 8:30 pm, a DMV employee came to our home, cut open the ceiling and walls, found the source of the leak, and stopped the leak. He left our home at about 10 pm. We had no use of the master bath toilet for the weekend, but at least the water had stopped dripping into our dining room and further damage to our home was prevented. On Tuesday morning at 8 am, DMV sent someone out to fix the pipe/plumbing so we could use the toilet. The following day, DMV sent employees out to repair our drywall and repaint the ceiling and walls. I was so impressed with their customer service, even 6 months after our job was completed. There is no question in my mind that they stand behind their work 100%. Thank you DMV!!! We can't wait to start our next bathroom remodel with DMV!

The replacement of my old lighting with recessed lighting involved a lot of dry walling which was a very dusty job. They took care to put up lots of plastic sheeting to mitigate the mess. The completed job, which also included a pendant light, looks great. They also installed granite countertops. I appreciate that Oscar helped me pick out the "perfect" color for my cabinets, floor and price range. (Another contractor who bid on the job offered little assistance which, for me, was pretty overwhelming). It was nice to have a trained, experienced eye to help me with the decision--which proved to be the right one. All the workers were very polite and arrived on time. They worked so diligently that they completed the job In four days--a day earlier than anticipated. I made a couple of modifications to the original contract with no hassle. The whole experience from beginning to end was a good one, and I gladly recommend them.

For the guest bath, he matched the Master Bath design, with beautiful floor tiles with back splash and tiles around the tub, granite counter tops and vanity. Mr. Javier excelled in his customer care where he always made us feel special every step of the way to complete the project on time within the budget with attention to details. Over and above Javier always was commemorative for any additions and changes during the project without any fuss and always pleasant. I added a couple of changes and it was not an issue. He has an excellent project team of well skilled, dedicated and polite members like Maynor, Marcos, Lewis, granite installer Nogi and the electrician Ruben. Javier takes pride in his project and his team also does the same. We are also remodeling our kitchen thru DMV Kitchen and Javier is again the leading person of the project. It is nearing completion and looks very impressive. We will write a review soon after the project is completed. I obtained bids for four A rated angie's list contractors and chose DMV for cost competitiveness. DMV came in and took pictures of my kitchen, developed a cost estimate and emailed it to me. I went to their showroom, chose some upgrades, and executed a contract with them. There was a mixup on the cabinet order which caused a 2 week delay in the start date. Once the cabinets were in, DMV came in and completed the demo and rebuild within 2 weeks. They rebuilt the laundry stacking the appliances and even custom built two doors to match the shaker style cabinets. We had another week delay because the backsplash that I wanted was on back order. Once everything was in, DMV completed the work and paid close attention to the detail. Javier made sure I was 100% satisfied every step of the way. All in all, the remodel took a bit longer than I anticipated, but the workers are skilled, polite, and professional; and the kitchen is beautiful.

First, I have worked with many contractors in the past, usually finding them through referrals. This is the first one I used for renovations off of Angie's List and I couldn't tell you how pleased I am with my experience with DMV. Javier and his team were very responsive in quoting out the work, they worked within my budget and we still were able to achieve the exact look and and feel I wanted for the kitchen. I provided the design inspiration, and also knew what look, tiles, and color scheme I wanted. Something I recommend to everyone is to cut out or bookmark images that serve as an inspiration to your project to help the contractor understand the look you are going for. DMV was able to work within my short time-frame and obtained the cabinets and commenced work on-schedule. Their team is professional, quiet, and courteous, and kept the place clean after each day. I did not receive one emergency call, or any calls to inform me something could not be done. Each day I visited the remodel and provided real-time feedback on any questions. Javier and the team were responsive and flexible in meeting any small new requests I had as well, which I appreciated. I wish I could post a before and after picture for you, the kitchen really looks fabulous and transformed the entire condo space into an open concept flow. I would definitely recommend DMV Kitchen & Bath to neighbors, family and friends.

We are thrilled with the work DMV Kitchen & Bath did for us. They completely transformed our dark and dated bathroom and bedroom into a light- filled, spa- like atmosphere. Highlights include the frame less glass enclosure for the shower, beautiful cabinetry and closet area affording plenty of storage, heated tile floor, privacy wall for the toilet area, gorgeous granite counter top for the vanity, task lighting everywhere needed,a generously sized framed mirror over the vanity, and meticulous paint job in the bedroom and bathroom. We were very impressed by the quality of the materials Oscar and Javier presented as options within the contract price, and with the top-notch craftsmanship and professionalism of every employee they sent into our home. We also found them to be very flexible with us, working around our travel schedule in a manner that set the schedule for completion back a bit, but at our request, so no complaints. One tip I would offer is that Oscar and Javier rightly look to the customer to choose the materials and overall look and design of the renovation, so it helps if you have a strong sense of what you want and an ability to choose with confidence from a variety of high-quality options. And as with all contractors, it is important to review the work daily to make sure that no miscommunications have occurred. The few that occurred in our case were immediately remedied when we noted them. We would absolutely hire them again.
