Very good! Initial site visit was punctual and very professional. Mr. Kevin Carr from Bartlett Tree is an expert!! He listened to our requirements and then led us through the different trees, and explained in clear terms what he would have his crew do to correct and improve the situation and landscape. His knowledge and arborist expertise was apparent, and very helpful in explaining what we should and shouldn't do. Within a day, he provided Bartlett's estimate, scope, and proposal. Concurrently, I was obtaining other estimates to perform the work; most of the other contractors declined to perform the work in the ravine due to a variety of technical, safety, and access concerns. It's important to note, that Mr. Carr saw the ravine work as challenging, but very achievable. I did receive proposals from the other contractors (not including ravine work), and for the common work items that they would perform, their prices were lower but generally in-line with Bartlett Tree's proposal. As I was reviewing the proposals, I was also securing permission from the County and neighbors to access the difficult ravine work via their properties. Once I had all the permissions in place, I negotiated the final scope and price with Bartlett Tree, and signed the contract. To my surprise, they did not require a deposit, but due to their workload, could not get to our project for several weeks, which was not a concern for us. Several days prior to the work, Bartlett Tree contacted me to confirm that the date was still good for us. As scheduled, Mr. Carr arrived with the crew to get them set up and clear on the scope of the work. The work was perfomed, and the site was left very clean. All major work items were completed safely and the results were excellent. Mr. Carr contacted me several times after the work to ensure satisfaction, and promptly took care of several minor punch-list items that I identified as needing slight adjustments. The invoice arrived several weeks later, and was paid in full without qualification. I'd give my highest personal recommendation to use Bartlett Tree ... higher price perhaps, but you get what you pay for in terms of customer focus; expertise; professionalism; safety; and quality.

It was a funny situation with Bartlett. I have to admit to having some difficulty getting them to return my phone calls. When I did speak to them though, they were very polite and professional. In addition, I had a hard time nailing down a date for the work since the guy who performs the work is not the one who answers the phone and he sets his own schedule. I was starting to get frustrated and decided I was going to call to complain. Before I did though, I looked up and noticed that the work had already been done! The workers were so neat and clean that I hadn't even realized that they'd been and gone!! There was no tree waste on the ground: no branches, no leaves, nothing. And yet the work was done exactly as they said it would be and for the price that they stated. (Note that I did not rate them on price because they were the only company I could find that was licensed locally and so they were the only ones I called. I received no other estimates. My guess is that their prices are on the high side of competitive.) Still, I would say that the work that they did was worth every penny. I highly recommend Bartlett Tree Experts and will use them again if I need further tree service.

They gave me a favorable price on tree and stump removal, and I was going to have them do it, but I've been incredibly busy. However, I'll definitely consider them in the future.

We had potential insect infestations on our trees. Bartlett came out for an estimate (which is more than I can say for other companies I called). After surveying the health of trees, the arborist suggested we NOT spray or treat our trees because there wasn't really a problem. I admire the honesty to tell us we didn't need his business. He however was very knowledgeable about our existing trees, offering free advice and suggestions on other trees we could plant, and where, based on compatability of trees. I will use them if I ever need tree work done.

A couple of years ago I spent several thousands of dollars with them. They are very professional. They have an arborist and they come in and examine it. He understands what needs to be done to take care of trees rather than just coming in and cutting away at it. The crews that come in are professional. They come in and do what needs to be done, clean it up and leave. The clean up was good. I was surprised because there were a lot of big limbs on the ground and they did a good job. I didn't shop around for price this time. I shopped their original work and they were very price competitive. The price was good and the quality is very good. They came within a few days of when I contacted them. I would use them again.

I did not have any interaction with them since they came when I was not at home. They e-mailed me the bid right away and then followed it up with a hard copy in the mail. I think that they were professional as far as that goes. Their quote was a little high. We did not use them for the work.

We requested estimate for removal of one tree and also decided to take advantage of their special offer for a free appraisal and recommendations for care of other trees on our property. Man was very thorough and professional with many suggestions for additional trimming, feeding, etc. Comprehensive itemized estimate arrived promptly. After comparing with 2 other Angie's list firms, who didn't see need for the additional work and came in lower on tree removal we decided to go with another firm.

The tree removal crew did a great job and cleaned up the mess that was generated. I was disappointed by damage to grass and brick walkway by equipment brought to the house from grinding up of root balls. That equipment and operator also damaged a pipe that was close to my house, but the estimator came promptly when called, and he repaired the pipe within a few days.

I was very pleased with their timeliness, responsiveness, expertise and professionalism. I couldn't be happier.

Work was great and well priced. Trees were pruned well, and removed trees were cut close to the ground. All limbs and wood was removed. Workers were professional. My only complaint was that it took a couple of weeks after the estimate to get a scheduled date for the work. I would still recommend them and would use them again. I would just be more forceful in getting a date scheduled in the future.

They were courteous. They came out quickly. They were responsive. They seemed very knowledgeable. They walked around the house with him. They gave me the lowest bid and I just felt confident with the proposal that they gave me. They listed everything that they were going to do, so there was no murkiness about them. I would use them again in the future too.

I watched this tree grow from a seedling and hated to take this tree down but it was growing into a mature oak tree. Bartlett had removed a large diseased tree for me previously from between two houses. This tree was in the back yard and conditions were very, very tight. They rigged off the large oak and took the tulip poplar out of there in just a few hours. No problems. No hassles. The shrubs at the base of the tree were not even damaged. Excellent and they were still the best price out of three bids. Nice people. Very experience. Very professional. Very reasonable. They come when they say they will come but you might have to wait just a little longer for them to be available. Well worth waiting for.

They did an excellent work. They have an excellent arborist who came out and inspected all my trees and told me what I needed to get done and what I did not need to do. He was very easy to talk to and easy to understand. We talked about several trees that I was not sure whether they needed work or not, and he explained to me what it needed and whether I can wait or needed to do it right away. They also took soil samples around one of my trees to see if it could benefit from root feeding. They were prompt, courteous, and easy to deal with. Their price was good. On the second day, the arborist identified another problem and he came back to talk to me about that. The problem was that a tree was showing a split and it needed a cable. They were doing cabling on two other trees. They identified the need for cable on one additional tree after they trimmed it. They trimmed out the tree, so that they could see it better and they could see that there was a split in the tree. I am really happy with their service. I would definitely use their service in the future too.

A very satisfactory experience for this homeowner. I still have two treatments coming for one of the diseased trees under the terms of the original contract. Bartlett sent out a staff arborist who knew his trees. He knew my trees for sure. Every appointment was on time. Everything was completed to my satisfaction and, when damage was found that was hidden from us the workmen brought it to my attention and asked me what I would like to do. I decided to have that problem fixed, as well, and they just added it to their workday at a pro-rated charge in my favor. During this recent ice storm we lost nary a branch, much less a tree, though they were snapping and tumbling all around us.

A tree fell on my house and I called at 8:30; they were here by noon and the tree was gone by noon. They quoted me rates and I thought they were reasonable. Their storm rate was pretty in sync with the other companies I called. I like their responsiveness, they way the assessed the situation, and how they provided recommendations that would lower the price even with the time sensitive nature of the work. I would absolutely use them again. The arborist is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He explained a lot of stuff about trees that I did not know and that will help me in the future.

They were on time and I am happy with the service.

Bartlett was prompt and professional in sending someone to assess the work and quickly produced a proposal for the work which they delivered both via email and by mail. Unfortunately, Bartlett was more than $300 more expensive than the vendor we eventually hired for the work. The company looks reputable and competent, but expensive.

Asked for the the trees on our land to be evaluated and for a down tree to be removed. Other tree experts realized that we had a huge 200 ft poplar that was very diseased and rotten from the inside out. He left an estimate and missed the diseased tree, when I called for an updated estimate to include taking that tree out, he called back and said he couldn't find any record of doing our estimate.

Overall, the experience was positive. If the price was lower, we would have felt very confident in the work requested.
