So far so good ... no signs of recurring infestation.

They were great. They were punctual and they did what they were asked to do. They provided good quality services.

They showed up on time and got to work right away. They were very professional, efficient, and careful not to damage any of the plants around the Chestnut Oak.

They follow instructions and/requests with timely answers and service. They will offer their expertise and knowledge when discussing the homeowners' desires and are flexible with timeframes. They are responsive to questions and want you to be satisfied with their work.

Tree removal is not inexpensive. We have used Bartlett several times now and have always been happy with the work,

I obtained estimates from Bartlett, Mulheron and a third company. Unlike the other 2 places which came over within a few days and provided me with an estimate before leaving my house, it took over a week to get the Bartlett arborist to come to the house to review what needed to be done and then they emailed estimate a few days later. Mulheron was over a thousand dollars more than Bartlett and the 3rd company was a fraction of the price but they were not interested in servicing the larger trees. I decided to go with Bartlett bc they had come recommended to me, pricing was better than 2nd company and they agreed to come ASAP to take care of tree service. Turned out initial delay with getting estimate was bc person who handles my region had been on vaca. Overall, I was happy with Bartlett, esp. with removal of a large cherry tree that had fungus in the trunk. Upon cutting tree, I could see the decay inside trunk. All the guys were friendly and did an excellent job of cleaning up afterwards.

They are very expert at knowing how to trim all of the varieties of trees and bushes that we have.

The crew was amazing. These trees were all near gardens, fences, houses, and a narrow but critical access road. Absolutely nothing was damaged during the work. A bucket truck was used and large trunk-sized branches were tied and lowered to the ground gently. A crane removed huge pieces of tree trunks that were removed. At one time, there were at least four large work trucks parked along side the road for this work, but the crew was careful to ensure that the road was always passable for car traffic while they were parked and working. Two of the crew used ropes to climb into the large Black Cherry being trimmed. They made their way to the very tops and outreaches of this tree to do their work, and they too used ropes to gently lower larger pieces to the ground. Their work was so amazing that we brought chairs to the work site and watched in amazement nearly all day. We all took lots of pictures. One aspect that I was very pleased to see is their use of personal safety equipment. The crew used ear, eye, and head protection at all times, and body and leg protection as well. From chatting with members of the crew, we learned they were all experienced in their trade. A supervisor with many years experience was always on site. In chatting with them, we learned that Bartlett is very safety cautious and has a routine for checking and replacing all equipement including the ropes used by the climbers. Every one of the crew were pleasant and professional. After they left, there was very little evidence that they'd been here other than some sawdust around the trunk locations. There was no damage to the lawn and no dents or gullys in the ground from falling branches due the manner in which they were removed. They raked up every twig in the yard and along the road where they had parked. The only thing that could have been improved on slightly was office communication. We had also contracted to have some tree fertilization done and we were not sure when this was happening. Another employee came by about 10 days later and did that work, so all in all everything was done and we are very pleased.

They did a good job when they came out. They were supposed to come out on a Friday and didn't show up. Seems like just a miscommunication and they showed up on Saturday. A little odd but the work was good.

We have two very large 100-year old sycamore trees behind our house, both with deadwood which had started to break off and fall on our patio area. We were concerned that this was a dangerous situation, so we contacted several tree companies in the area to get estimates. Tim Zastrow, the arborist sent by Bartlett Tree Experts, did a really nice job explaining to us the type of maintenance sycamores need, we were confident that the solution he proposed was the right one. He also recommended putting in a lightning protection system in both sycamores, which we thought was a pretty good idea. Bartlett's wasn't the least expensive of the companies we contacted, but it also wasn't the most expensive (by far). Tim offered a discount if we wanted to wait until November to get the work done, but since the deadwood was falling now, we decided to go ahead and schedule the work. The team that came out was excellent -- they arrived exactly when they said they would and did exactly what we contracted them to do. The tree climbers are highly skilled. We were worried that falling branches might hit our new metal roof, but the climbers were careful. They did a great job, and our new lightning protection system will be a conversation piece for sure. The job took most of the day, and Tim came out to check on the work himself. It was an all-around nice experience. We have a dying pine tree that needs to be removed and we will schedule this work with Bartlett's in November to get their winter discount. We are really happy with the work they did for us, and we will be repeat customers for sure.

The gentleman that came to give me an estimate was very professional and really knew his trees. I did feel pushed a little when I spoke with him about trimming instead of cutting down, because he was telling me the tree would require different, yearly treatments and fertilization if I trimmed. I did decide to trim but opted not to get the treatments. Work was done quickly and neatly. I would hire again but felt they could have done a little better on the price.

They were great during the estimate, the work has not been completed yet.

They are really nice people. They are very responsive and come out quickly.

I was very pleased with their service. They're just a bit expensive but other than that, they were very good and very knowledgeable. They were very professional and they cleaned up. I had to have a tree cut down and I'm going to have more cut down but they explained to me the value of keeping the healthy lawn which made sense to me and what not. They try not to cut down trees unless absolutely necessary and one was absolutely necessary so they took down that tree. I was very pleased and it has made a very big difference. They were fairly expensive but in the long term, I think it's really worth it because I feel like if I hired anybody else, if I had just said take down the poor trees, they would have. These people are knowledgeable in trees in things like that so I went with their opinion.

I was given a quote for trimming two American Elms in my back yard by Nick Scaletta. While the price was higher than what I was given by another contractor, I decided to go with Bartlett because they had a more thorough write-up and a stronger reputation for science-driven maintenance. We scheduled the trimming for Dec 4, and I told all of my neighbors because they were eager to get the trees trimmed as well. But when I came home that evening, my trees had obviously not been trimmed. I contacted Mr. Scaletta, and he sent the following: "We did not make it there Yesterday. I was out of town on business and did not receive work until this morning. I am sorry for not letting you know sooner. We will have to reschedule." I was upset that I had to contact him to find out that we needed to reschedule. When his team did come to trim the trees over a week later, Mr. Scaletta left me a pointsetia and an apology note. While it was a very nice gesture, I was annoyed that the trees still did not look fully trimmed and that my neighbors complained to me that branches were left in their yard. When I informed Mr. Scaletta, he personally came back and fixed the issue. So in summary, Bartlett charges more and the customer service can be spotty. We will see how my trees do in the spring and if I decide to call them back.

It went very well. As I said previously, I will use them again.

Their service was excellent and they did a fine job.

We noticed the tree at around 9am on a Saturday morning just before the Christmas holiday. We found Bartlett on Angie's List and called them. They were one of the few with an emergency service number. They said they had crew nearby and came right over. They took the tree down, took it away and were finished by 11:30 am that same day and we were thrilled. They couldn't have been nicer or more professional.

We received a detailed analysis of our soil and are contracting to have at least one area of our yard treated. We were pleased with the arborist, Christopher Larkin, who inspected our yard, pointed out what needed and did not need to be done, and provided a very thorough proposal for tree pruning. In some cases, he confirmed our concerns about certain trees. He also informed us about trees that did not need any attention. We trusted his appraisal of work needed in our yard, and we had the utmost faith in his honesty. A small crew did the actual work, having arrived promptly. They disposed of all limbs and fallen leaves. While they were working, a limb fell and dented our gutter, but Christopher, upon our having called him, hurried to our house and repaired the work. We felt that was very good service.

I went through a competitive process to perform some tree work upon purchasing our home. I went with Bartlett based upon my interaction with Kevin Carr. He listened effectively to what I wanted and proposed an approach that achieved the right balance. Based upon that work, I went directly with Bartlett for additional work a year later with positive results. When Sandy came through and took down a large white pine, which was balanced precariously over our attached garage, I contacted Kevin right away. He came by the same day, prepared a proposal, we signed, and when I came home from work the next day, the work was done. Like Sandy never happened. Couldn't be happier. Thanks, Kevin.

Bill Eck, the arborist visited the site several times, first to try and save the tree, which turned out to be severely diseased, and later once it became clear that it would have to come down, to figure out how it could be done with least disruption to the back yard. They got all the necessary approvals from DCRA (this was included in the price) and did an excellent job taking the tree down. They arrived when they said they would. They managed to get their truck up the back lane and had the tree down in about four or five hours. The removed all the wood from the backyard and completely cleaned the site up when they were finished. When they came later to do the stump grinding, they laid plywood down so that the grinding machine didn't do any damage to the lawn or pathways in the backyard. This is not the first time I have used them and I always find that they do excellent work. They are probably not the cheapest in the business, but they are very reliable, very professional and they don't cut corners in making sure that all relevant local government requirements are followed.

A neighbor recommended them to us, they are pricey but dependable and very competent. I think they go all over Montgomery County. I did not get other estimates. I would tell others that they are dependable and my neighbor has used them for years. I would use them again in the future.

They were excellent. They were reliable and the work was done on time. They did a good job for us.

It went well. I had a positive experience with Bartlett the last time I had a need to remove some dead trees and cable another tree, so I went straight to them for this work. Kevin Carr came to scope out the work and develop the proposal. He was on time, helpful, and responsive. Once again, I signed the proposal, indicated I was ready to go and waited for Bartlett to get back to me... and waited... After a month passed, I checked in and they offered to schedule quickly. We did. They sent a team of two. The team lead was great. Obviously very experienced. He reviewed the work with me, explained how it would proceed, and then set to it. They proceeded carefully and worked most of the day. At no time was I concerned with any part of the hickory landing on the house or anything else of value. It was easy for them. They cleaned up the worksite when they were done and left things in good order. I plan to use Bartlett again for future needs.

This was my second time using Bartlett Tree Experts. We needed to have 2 large "weed" trees removed from our backyard. I had used Bartlett before and was happy with my previous experience. There was a little delay in getting the rep out to give an estimate (I called on a Tuesday, and they couldn't send their rep out to look at the trees until the following Monday), but they did the work almost immediately after that. The rep was here on Monday and they did the work the following morning on Tuesday. Their estimate was $250 cheaper than another estimate that was received. Their workers were incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They did the work quickly and removed all of the debris. Once again a happy Bartlett customer.
