Frank and John worked for two days. They did an unbelievable job of getting the stump and roots out. Afterwards they sifted the debris to leave the dirt and got rid of the mulch. Ground was evened out. A superb job!

Great! Frank and his helper did very good work in removing two complicated stumps. They were very professional and careful not to disturb surrounding areas. They were able to keep our stacked stone wall in place with no damage. We were impressed! They cleaned up the job site very well before leaving.

Frank and his son, John, arrived on time and quickly dug out the stump without affecting the surrounding area. The area is now ready to plant a new tree. They used wooden planks to shield the area and cleaned up everything very well.

These guys were exactly what you want--communicative, on time, flexible and did a fantastic job. Oh, and they were reasonably priced too! It took them two half-days to get the job done, and they required zero supervision. We lent them a garage door opener so that they could finish when we weren't home and left us a self-addressed-stamped-envelope to mail them a check.

Better than expected. The work was completed as promised. The area where the roots were growing is completely flat and ready for something new to be planted.

Frank and his son were amazing. They spent 2 days removing the trees and grinding down the stumps. When I called Frank, he was not only courteous, but down home friendly. He came out to do the job in very quick fashion. He was able to come out on the week following my call. We were experiencing a heat wave, but Frank and his son worked tirelessly to get the job done quickly and well. The price was very reasonable, and I couldn't be more pleased with the service. Frank was great on all levels. He was very patient with my schedule and worked with me to get the stump removed before we were to have a tree planted. Rather than drive a big truck up in the yard and grind the stump down, Frank and is partner dug it out by hand. By doing so, it avoided damaging the lawn or making a big mess in the front bed. I would recommend him to anyone.

Frank first of all checked with the power companies to make sure he wouldn't cut into anything or interrupt service. That was done before he came over to remove the stumps. He measured everything and came up with an estimate on the spot. I had checked other stump removal companies before to get an idea of prices and Frank's price was right in line with other places. He and his helper worked for several hours and took all measures to protect the house from any flying debris and rocks. At the end he called me out to take a look and the work done was excellent. I had taken down several large (15' tall, 50-year-old) holly shrubs from the front of our home, but the stumps were beyond my ability to remove, especially as the water and gas lines come in to that part of the house. Frank and his son came out, figured how to go about it, cleaned out the stumps and roots, and also took out a dead crabapple stump and several small yew and smaller holly stubs while they were at it. The wood was cut into acceptably small sections for removal by the city, and the mulched roots and dirt make an excellent bed for my (very happy) wife to vastly expand her flower bed in that area. We are completely satisfied with the results, and recommend Frank without reservation.

We are a military family and as such, have moved a lot and come in contact with a LOT of contractors through the years. Every so often, we are happy for the opportunity to meet someone who is truly dedicated to their job. Frank is such a person, and if stump grinding was painting, he'd be Leonardo da Vinci. Frank assesses each stump as a doctor would evaluate a patient. He observes its postion, neighboring plants, direction it is leaning, etc. and develops a plan as to how to remove it in the most efficient and clean way. We trusted Frank to take a stump out next to a very old, very special tree; and he also removed a stump that was pushed up against the foundation without touching the house. Like a mad scientist, Frank has created his own special tools to enable him to remove stumps others cannot. Frank's prices are reasonable, too! If you need stumps removed, call Frank.

I contacted Frank based on the reviews on this site. From the beginning, Frank communicated with me very well and was responsive to our phone conversations, following-up when he said he would. The exposed stump was approximately 30" in diameter but the root system was much larger and deep. Frank had the right equipment to do the job and to fit through a tight gate area (around 30") I have on my fence line. Frank was efficient, put erosion-style fencing around the work area to catch the wood chips and to ensure no chips went into our neighbors yards, and after the job, he took the time to clean up the driveway with a blower where he had unloaded / loaded his equipment. Overall, I was happy with Frank, would contact him again if I had a stump removal need, and will recommend him to neighbors if they have a similar need. .

When I had a dying 50-year old red maple tree removed from a 10 foot by 10 foot planter near my house, the tree removal people only ground up the stump mass to about 10 inches below the surface. Since I wanted to plant a new tree in the same spot, I had to get rid of the massive stump and root parts that solidly choked the planter area. Frank DeBaldo came when promised and removed the stump and roots. He brought a specially designed grinder that can reach deep into the ground. He worked hard for two days and completely cleared the planter area. I gave him $200 more than his asking price. When the landscaping crew arrived with the new tree and it's 42 inch by 27 inch root ball, the foreman told me it was the best job of cite preparation he had ever seen.

Frank was great. He called Miss Utility to set up an appointment to check our underground utilities and handled all of that on his end. He called us up Saturday morning and wanted to come by to see the work. I was not expecting him to do the work that same day but did a great job. Earlier in the day we had raked up all of the leaves so now that the bushes and stumps were gone our yard looked really good, until more leaves fell!

I would use him in the future, without question. He was very professional and did the work in a very efficient manner, without rushing. He takes pride in his work and is exactly the type of small business owner that is lacking in the DC area.

Frank is the kind of small business owner I like to support -- someone who takes pride in a job well done, is honest, skilled, and detail-oriented. He was very responsive from the time I called to inquire about a possible job to the time he completed the work (the next day!). He is a personable straight shooter who offered a very fair price for the job, which was removing a row of deeply entrenched shrubs in our front yard on a blazing hot, humid day. He kept me informed on his progress throughout the afternoon and suggested things to watch out for when our new evergreens are planted. Although he did not haul the debris away (which I knew in advance), he broke it down so that it will be easy for us to bag ourselves. He left the area very tidy, ready to be planted. I would definitely hire him again.

Mr. DeBaldo and his son arrived as scheduled. They were very helpful and detailed in helping decide what needed to be done. They gave us an estimate on the spot, then completed the work the same day. The work was done to our satisfaction and in a timely manner. Cost was very reasonable. Would hire them again in a second! Loved the fact that one trip took care of estimate and work so I didn't have to set another day aside to wait for service!

Frank was very personable. He came on a Sunday because Saturday wouldn't work for me. He was very professional and described exactly what he was going to do. He cleaned everything up nicely. Will definitely recommend.
