The owner-worker's process is to come out, bid and do the work immediately if the customer okays the price. He came sooner than expected. His bid was within what we were willing to pay; the work was done very thoughtfully and well, and a fair amount of clean-up followed. We and our naighbors were MOST pleased..

It was a little hard to get hold of him on the phone at first, as he's usually out on jobs. But he was good about calling me back. He said that I should have mentioned that I found him on Angie's List as he bumps those callers to the front of the list. He was able to come out quickly, and came prepared to do the work on the day of the estimate. His price was fair so I had them do it right then. He was quite clear that the price did not include removing the debris, and I was fine with that. They were thorough and professional, and were careful to set up plywood and tarps to protect my shed and yard from flying debris. The end product was just what I expected: two piles of what looks like mulch. This can be distributed around the yard or garden, or just left in place to slowly decompose and fill in the stump hole. Overall I'm quite pleased with his work.

Frank showed up with his rig and explained how the job should be done and why. We chatted about the state of the world, agreed on a price and I left him to it. He is no slouch to honest labor and handling that stump was no challenge to his skills. He worked steadily through out the afternoon. I checked on him from time to time to see if he need anything cold to drink. He stopped to chat pleasantly for a few moments and went back to work. At no time did I feel pressure to attend to him or keep an eye on his work. He is an easy going, hard working and generous soul. I will use his services in future without feelng it necessary to call around for quotes. I can recommend him without reservation.

Frank was very responsive and returned my call within hours. He was very good at telling me when he could get by my house to do the job. He was able to come within two days or my calling. He would have come sooner except that he needed to call the utility companies first so they could flag the lines. I was glad he mentioned this because I had forgotten all about that aspect. Frank specializes in stump removal so he has all the tools and know-how for this task. He is very good at what he does.

A large oak stump needed to be removed so that a deck could be placed over the area. Originally the deck company said the stump could stay but it turned out to be too high to remain under the deck. Another company tried unsuccessfully to cut the stump back. Due to the delay caused by the other company I needed the stump to be removed immediately. I called Frank on a Saturday morning. He returned my call promptly, came out to inspect the site AND he completed the job that same Saturday! The location of the stump required Frank to work in an area with limited access, piles of dirt and deep holes the deck company had already dug for the deck footers. Frank removed all of the cinder blocks and other debris around the stump (a real job in and of itself- it took about an hour), ground the stump completely down and was careful not to let the mulch get into the deck footer holes. He brought all the tools he needed for the job and he left the site in excellent condition. He was very knowledgeable about his business. I would definitely recommend him to others.

I had called several tree service companies, most of whom never returned my calls or never showed up to take a look at the job. One of the few who did take a look, left me a message saying that extensive preparations would have to be made because of the cramped work space. When I tried to pursue this further, I received no return calls. When I called A Tree Sump Removal Only Co., I received a return call the same day and we set up a work appointment time (a Saturday). The stump was in a difficult place in my small yard. Together we decided that for my purposes (putting up a shed) it would be more practical to cut the stump off close to the ground with a chain saw rather than totally unearthing the stump. For this service I was charged $187 rather than the $600 that it would have cost and site preparations that would have had to be done had I opted to have the sump totally removed. They began work immediately and were finished in about an hour or so. They were friendly and determined to get me the best results possible from the pretty difficult situation that I had.

Another company would not remove the tree stump as promised. I called Frank, who responded quickly and removed the stump and the large roots two days later. It was a difficult job, but he worked very hard and removed all the roots and the sawdust, leaving the site in excellent condition. I would definitely recommend his work to others. I paid him $50 extra for his hard work and good service, but it was probably worth even more.

Very well, took good care of chopping the stump around the gas line without risking anything. Worked very hard for the money earned. Very lenient on payment terms too.

I contacted Frank after making appointments with at least four tree specialists to get this stump removed. None of them showed up and I just happen to see Frank's truck with the 1-800-MY-STUMP advertisement. I called the number, spoke to Frank. He came out the following Saturday. It took him about two hours to remove the stump, roots and all. He also cleaned all of the leftover wood.
