Tuckers AC, Heating & Plumbing

I got three different quotes and they were the most logical as far as the way they do the plumbing work. I had my kitchen redone. I had bulk heads behind my cabinets. We noticed that the plumbing was in the kitchen that was coming from the bathroom from the upstairs to the downstairs. It ran downstairs along the wall through the kitchen where it drains out. They had to go down where the dishwasher was. I wasn't going to relocate the dishwasher. I have two bookshelves on the side of the kitchen and the plumbing just fit. It made room for my 36" cabinets in the kitchen. They put in a return air vent on the top of the bookshelves. It looks so nice and you would never know that that piping would create so much havoc. He read my mind exactly to the tea. He said it was an easy fix. They were here for over a three month period. Plumbing is so expensive. There might have been someone out there a little cheaper, but they reworked all of that plumbing. I had two companies that came up with two different solutions outside of Tucker. I think overall I got a good deal. I got a good amount of work done for the money. Especially running the line underneath the sink and the flooring. When we set up the time, they were out there at 7:00 in the morning, worked all day, and worked for five straight days. I have already used them again. There were two plumbers and then two gentleman that did the HVAC work. It took them two days for the HVAC work and five days for the plumbing work. They didn't leave any mess. The personnel were young and knowledgeable on the project. They were very professional. They were very courteous. I would hire them again.

They charged me $99 for the service call and $75 for parts. I thought the price of the service call could've been less. Two guys came out and it took them 45-50 minutes. Tucker's tries to work with local colleges. When they did the kitchen work for me, they had a young man that was 22 years old, he analyzed the issue and solved it. His helper was only 19 and just got started in the business. The plumbers that did my kitchen was 33 at the time, but his helper was in his early 20's. That's one of the things I like about them. I gave them an "A" because of previous experience. One of the guys was a plumber I had before. The salesman, Kyle that I met with was very professional and a down to earth guy. He had personality, but ran his business like a tight ship.

Outstanding. Eugene, the Tucker rep, was terrific. I learned more about my HVAC and HVAC in general with Eugene than I ever did with any other technician, not that he was here to give me HVAC lessons but he thoroughly explained what he was doing, what he was finding, and was very responsive to my questions. I don't know how many HVAC reps I've had out to the house over the last 9 or so years, but this was definitely the best visit. We'll be moving soon and you can be sure that we'll be working with Tuckers going forward.

Tuckers AC and Heating is a very good service. I signed up for both of my properties for an annual maintenance program. I would recommend them to all.

Overall, my wife and I are pleased with Tuckers AC. Mike Savard came to the house and patiently explained to me what our options were. He subsequently communicated with us by text and was always responsive to our questions. Hector and his crew were professional, polite, punctual, and efficient. And they hardly left a trace. We got five bids for the job, and Tuckers was by far the most competitive. We were a bit wary about going with the lowest bidder, but in the end they completed the work without any cost overruns. The reason we're not giving Tuckers an A is because not everything went as expected. A big reason we chose them was because they said they could install a vent in our master bathroom, whereas other contractors warned us it couldn't be done, or at least not without doing some serious (and costly) modifications. In the end, Hector was NOT able to implement the solution that Mike had described to me. So we decided to go with a second-best option, which consisted of installing a vent just outside the entrance to the master bathroom. I guess you could say Mike overpromised a bit. There were a couple of other surprises involving modifications to the exterior of our house. In the grand scheme of things, these were minor modifications (a new electric box mounted on a wall, and a pipe running from the attic to the compressor outside). But we happen to be part of a very strict homeowners association, and all visible modifications to the exterior of a house need to be approved by the HOA's architectural committee. The modifications that Tuckers made did not correspond exactly to what was explained to me beforehand. These caveats notwithstanding, we would still recommend Tuckers. They were easy to work with and installed a nice system at a very competitive price.

They do exactly what you would expect for this type of service. The mechanics are generally knowledgeable, punctual and pleasant. However, on our last service call, the mechanic took a couple of measurements that he said indicated that my 10-year old AC was nearing end-of life, i.e. would not last the summer, and proposed a $4850 replacement AC or a $9900 replacement AC/furnace. I called another Angie's List A-rated company for a 2nd opinion. He got different numbers and said I definitely DID NOT need to replace my system.

They usually try to send the same technician that did the work so that the technician is familiar. Last time it was the same technician from previous November. They are very knowledgeable. They explain everything they are doing. They make sure the customer knows what is going on.

It was a different technician, but same courteousy. He will let you know what he is doing. He will take you to the thermostat and show you everything is working. They are very good at explaining to the customer what is going on.

They came and left, and wasn’t quite complete. We had to call them back.

Excellent service. They came quickly to provide an estimate and schedule the installation. The quoted price was reasonable.

Technician was prompt and friendly. There was a slight hiccup with the billing, but the office fixed it promptly.

Service technician did perfect work and we called him back when we installed the gas dryer.

They just do the twice a year maintenance checkup on the air conditioning system in the spring and the heating system in the fall, for 3 different houses that I have. They are very responsive and very good. Their prices aren’t always the greatest. It is a $140 a year contract, they come twice a year and they give you a 15% discount on all parts and labor, if you need any service that is not covered. It is $70 a visit for routine checkups and things like that. If you need any repairs, that’s extra.

Went well, they were able to perform diagnostics and fix the issue.

I hired Tucker's to do a check up on my gas furnace. They were prompt, efficient, and very professional. They did not try to sell me any other services, but let me know that if I was interested, they had a service package. I ended up purchasing the package and have been very pleased with every visit and service provided including help with clearing a clogged drain.

I thought it was a bit expensive but worth it. I also needed them back in Nov or Dec. Even though I am a contract holder, which means I should get priority scheduling, I had to wait a day. Even when I was told, late in the day, the plumber couldn't make it and I had to wait all that time without water.

I was impressed when they first came out to install. He answered all my questions and was very patient. That was the reason I finally went with him. The individuals were very professional. They also answered my questions and took care of all my concerns. There was a problem of the installation, a part was bent. They came out the next day to replace the part.

They sat out in the driveway about 15 minutes before knocking on the door. I have recommended them to friends. They come for the service contract and they specifically go over what they did at that time. If I need a refresher on how to use the wall unit. They are patient in terms of answering my questions. Different people checked different things. This past time they asked if I had covered up one of the vents because what was coming back was blocked only "X" amount of percent. I checked and did have one vent that was covered and it made the machine work harder, so that was helpful.

They did a good job. They had to reschedule me once. They provided very good warranty. I was hesitating between two companies and their warranty really speak out and they were flexible. They were on time and they were professional. They tried to accommodate different things.

The quality of the repair and professionalism of Remy & Kyle was great. Scheduling was a bit of an issue. This was an emergency b/c the pipe was leaking waste water. I called on Tuesday, could not get an appointment until Wednesday. Because of prior work appointments,the master plumber did not get to me until Thursday. When he did show, the dispatcher only listed me as an estimate call. Kyle made calls necessary to correct what the dispatcher had done. My plumber, Remy did an excellent job, quickly, neatly and efficiently.

Fabulous. It's an incredible unit (very quiet outside unit on the cooling), a multi speed fan in the furnace that's very quiet, and their service agreements for after service on their installed units is very reasonable in price. This is a local company, not rolled up or bought out by some overall 1-800 HVAC group & as a result their installation and service is fabulous! The crew that did the installation were very through and the cleaning of the area of work after installation was the best I've seen. The only note, would be that the "new-fangled digital thermostat" [not yet & never will be connected to the internet---but it can be for those who dare], is not intuitive in operational settings for the consumer....takes some getting use to!! ...it even controls the humidifier according to the interior humidity levels in the home.

Long story short: just awful. Long story: we contacted them about a replacing a heat pump that had been failing over a couple of weeks in July. They were referred to us by family, and we were happy to contact a company we thought we could rely on. The sales rep they sent seemed warm and very attentive, and when we asked a brief follow-up question about the pricing that she sent, she said she would follow-up within a day. And then we didn't hear from her again for weeks (in the 90-100 degree heat, with children, as July turned to August). My in-laws, who had recommended this company, contacted them about a repair, and noted they were surprised about this. We got a follow-up call from someone I assume is a manager, and my husband spoke with her, and she assured us there would be follow-up. And someone finally did follow-up on September 26th-- another number of weeks after the call with the manager (clearly after we have replaced the unit). This was an email from the original sales rep, with absolutely no apology or even a mention of the 6 week delay in response time, but offering us instead a 5% discount only if we are available to schedule installation on Friday, when they had a cancellation.

Wonderful. Our technician was knowledgeable and friendly. He spent the time to explain everything and answer our questions. Work was completed in a timely way. Price was more then fair. We would use again.

I think this company is great. The office staff is so helpful and friendly. They are a pleasure. The service representative, Jason, is excellent. He is very thorough, knowledgeable and explains everything to me. I have tried three different companies since moving to Maryland in 2008 and this company is the best.
