Description of Work: The job was twofold: remove and install a new sliding patio door and provide and estimate and possibly install a chimney-style stove exhaust vent. One man arrived and I advised him that he was going to need another person to do the patio door installation. Another man arrived about one hour later. The patio door was installed mostly to my satisfaction, however there were globs of drywall spackling around the top trim. The men did not provide an time estimate for exhaust vent -- he simply began the work. The second man remained on the jobsite even though the vent was a one-person job. I contacted the main office about this and they gave me a three-hour credit (which I haven't yet used). A rubber mat from the floor was placed on the (brand new) stove top (ewww) which the workman had inadvertently turned on, resulting in burning the mat to my brand new stove top and smelling up the house. I mentioned this also to the main office and they agreed to reimburse me for the mat. I'm glad that the work was completed, but I wish it had gone more smoothly. I will be more selective about hiring this company for smaller jobs.

Description of Work: The technician fixed 2 outside doors that needed weather stripping, and one of those doors was not closing and latching properly. It required a shim. One closet door was repaired and 1 cabinet door was repaired. Both of these doors had closing mechanisms that had broken; those were replaced. The tech also reattached toe molding that had come loose from baseboards in various places throughout home. He did a nice job in all respects. He was neat, polite, arrived and went right to work.......no time wasted. A little pricey, but worth it to me to have it done quickly and well.

 + -1 moreI have never had a problem with them. They are always very attentive. They listened to exactly what needed to done. Compared to others, they really try to expedite the work and try to complete the work quickly.
Description of Work: They built a new bathroom vanity. They removed the old one and installed anew one. They also did the plumbing work. We pointed out a spot on the floor that was buckling and they repaired it.

 + -1 moreI calleld after a heavy rain caused flooding in my basement. I could see the rainwater gushing over the gutters. Had a previous positive experience from a couple years back when a snowstorm brought my awning down and they came out quickly and disassembled it and hauled it away. So...got same day service (thanks so much) - Richard was knowledgeable and was able to fabricate gutter flashing to divert the rain back into the gutters. I liked the repair and not replace option. Liked his approach and skill and ecided to have him repair the wooden steps in our yard that were damaged and had nails popping up. Now the steps are safe and my dog can play in the yard agani. Thanks so much. Definitely a positive experience.
Description of Work: Very pleased with same say service. Gutters cleaned, flashing fabricated and installed after basement flooding due to gutter problems. Now I won't fear the next rain storm. Also repaired and replaced wooden garden steps in backyard. Richard was very knowledgeable and suggested alternatives to save me money focusing on repairing rather than replacing. Hardworker with quality results! Thanks so much.

 + -1 moreMr. Handyman was excellent to deal with, they came out to replace missing roof shingles and siding from the big recent storm. After replacing the shingles and siding the worker said that he would need to order one piece of siding that was too damaged to be replaced. When he was on the roof he also mentioned that my attic fan motor was not working and was making a noise (I never would have noticed this)The gentleman ordered the siding and said he could install a new motor, he told me exactly where to purchase the new motor and what to get. They called and scheduled the appointment to replace the motor and missing siding that they ordered. They were prompt, professional and clean. I found them to be really good to deal with and provided great work at a very fair price. i would highly recommend this company.

Description of Work: One of our kitchen cabinets began to break apart, and our choice was to try to repair that specific cabinet or replace all of the cabinets. We checked with several kitchen and cabinet places but they were unwilling to do such a small job.

I will definitely use him again. The particular guy they sent out was great - professional, got right to the job and totally fixed everything. Everything he did was high quality, I had a very positive experience. I'm getting ready to give them another call to do things I've noticed now that I've moved in.

He was thorough in checking and adjusting every component of the garage door in order to ensure correct functioning rather than just replacing the springs. Very professional, skilled, prepared with necessary tools and knowledgeable. He communicated to me respectfully everything that was done and even found a problem with my front screen door and recommended the part I should purchase and how to fix it. The invoice lists all the parts used, parts purchased, and labor. I highly recommend this company.

Description of Work: Patched 3 holes created by a rework of recessed lighting and patched a channel cut by electrician to install a doorbell. He cut the patches accurately, attached them securely, applied mud, dried it, applied another coat. Very little sanding will be required, the result was quite smooth.

 + -1 moreEach time I contracted through Mr. Handyman, all of their techs arrived on time, if not early, and cleaned up after themselves as they went along their jobs. There were several occasions when a tech would clear their schedule for the rest of the day if a certain project took longer than expected, and/or call for backup to get everything completed as soon as possible.
Description of Work: Since February of 2007, they have installed fans, installed drywall, fixed my kitchen sink, repaired the master bathroom shower, wired multiple cables through the attic into the bedrooms, installed outlets and overall minor electrical work, and helped with other odd ball jobs that I needed to get done in order to sell my house.
