The place called and quoted a price for one hour of work ($188) that we felt we could have done at a lower cost. I told him I would call him back if we decided to take his offer. We decided not to take his offer.

Well enough. We hired them because they could get the job done quicker than anyone else and we needed that. But the price was a bit higher than we would have preferred to pay if we had the opportunity to shop around.

Jimmy Smith was fast and efficient, handled a 32’ ladder no problem by himself and fixed my gutters, had everything necessary on the truck. Totally recommend mr handyman and will ask for Jimmy Smith. The fee was as discussed before by a very professional person on the phone, she was great as well.

It did not go at all; I could not even get the price of a day of handyman work -- the core of their business. Waste of my time. Spent 10 minutes on vendor's website in their chat to get a day rate. 10 minutes later, no information was provided. Lots of me just waiting for the rep to chat me back. And all she did was ask me questions, some of which I had already answered. She clearly was multi-tasking as their were many delays in her typing/responses.

Went great. Rec'd call back from provider within 15 minutes of sending them a message thru Angie's List (AL). They were able to fit me in, in between appointments and actually had someone here within 1/2 hour of the phone call! Neil, the handy person introduced himself, showed his ID and went straight to work. Assessed the available windows and size of the air conditioner and advised what he thought would be the best fit. I was in agreement and he had it installed efficiently & quickly.

They were very knowlegable and the quality was very good.

Terry was very professional. He explained everything and went through various options with me. He was able to get my railing repaired and then came back to install it into the cement, all while it was pretty cold outside!

My experience with Mr. Handyman was not good and I'd recommend against using them for any service, but particularly with bigger jobs. The short version of the story is that the work done was fine; not great, not bad. The price however was excessively high and communication with me was inconsistent and sometimes unprofessional. When I answered their survey with some negative responses I was offered a credit (I did not ask for anything), and was told someone would be in touch with me with the details, but then was not contacted for a month. When I followed up myself I was told there was no credit. It was eventually resolved but it was a two month ordeal. More details about my experience are below: First the positives: The person who did the work was prompt, courteous, friendly, and professional. He listened well and did an overall decent job on the work I needed. He additionally went the extra mile and his personal help was appreciated. The negatives: The biggest problems I had were that of price and communication. I was told, when describing the nature of the work over the phone, that the job would cost approximately $600 - $700. I thought this was low and counted on maybe $1200, knowing it was an all day project. Midday when I checked on things I was told "it shouldn't cost too much." Naively I did not ask any further questions, but found a bill for $2000 when I returned home, triple my quoted price. Admittedly, the quoted price was not an official estimate and I didn't ask as many questions as I should have. $2000 is really, really expensive for a wooden railing though. The other big thing was communication, which was poor throughout the process. I received emails addressed to my wife, every time I called I was transferred around a million times when trying to schedule the work, and their system hung up on me a few times. The worst part however happened after the job. I hired them also to replace some siding on my house, which I was told would happen within a couple weeks. It took two months and several calls (I am always friendly when I call). Additionally, when I filled out the survey they sent me with some negative ratings, the owner came to my house saying he wanted to make things right, which I thought was great. I never asked for anything, but just explained I thought job was overpriced, and he offered to give me a credit to do some work for free, stating maybe they'd seal the railing or replace the siding for free. They never followed up with me, and when I followed up a month later I was told there was no credit. When I showed even the slightest bit of anger and frustration over the phone, never using profanity or yelling, I was treated with hostility. It was resolved later and I did get a credit for one hour of work. Overall I was pretty unhappy with the experience, which was really unnecessarily complicated. Don't use Mr. Handyman.

Showed up on time and was very proffessional. The repairs made were done in an outstanding maner. The only downside was the cost. But you know what they say "you get what you pay for"

Erik is an excellent worker. Very punctual, professional and meticulous. Will hire again in the near future. Ask for Erik. When contacting company, prices were not forthcoming. Found out after the initial work had begun regarding fees for van stock and van fee. Contacted company inquiring to prices. After making another phone call the owner, Rob finally contacted me. We agreed on a fair price for what had been done. Before hiring ask about the fees. Free estimates are not given. Inquiries of a ball park will be given over the phone.

Showed on time ready to do repairs and completed said repairs as promised. Completely satisfied with technician and his professionalism. Second time using this company and pleased with results on both occasions.

Mr. Handyman agreed to refund half of the difference. I would use them again.

The handyman showed up on time and had all the tools he needed and was very busy making all the repairs. He went to the local hardware store to acquire parts needed for the faucet repair (he had no idea what was needed before he arrived). My only concern was it was pretty expensive, but we needed to get these repairs completed. |

Dave was able to quickly and perfectly fix three doors that were miserable to try to open and close. They work great now, good as new!

Chris worked with me and he was wonderful. First he fixed the grout and caulking and advised me to wait at least one week to make sure that this was the full extent of the problem. When he returned he cut out the affected dry wall, replaced it and painted. He removed the floor tiles and replaced the tiles of the entire bathroom floor. (We were unable to locate the tiles that were there previously.) Because of water seepage into the living room ceiling, he sprayed that area and smoothed it out to make it paint ready. Chris explained every step and was quite efficient.

Jim was extremely informative. Very professional and pleasant. He explained everything and gave me my options. I feel he was extremely honest. I am extremely happy with the overall service I received.

I liked that they arrived on time. I liked their punctuality. They had very good mannerisms, they were very professional. I liked that.

I called them again about 6 months ago and asked them to do a job which they were more than happy to do. But it was way too expensive so we did not hire them to do it. They were reasonable when I had called them for other work. They have always been very friendly when they have come. They are comfortable and are extremely competent. We have had 3 different men come and each one of them is experienced. They did everything we wanted and were quick too.

It was fine but the price was pretty high. They did the job well and they were timely. The one thing that we asked them was to put the lights across the front of the house but they wanted to be paid more for doing that. I would not use them for that job because they cost more for that.

I use the same guy and they are able to send the same person if you like them. He was honest, took the bath and spent right amount of time that I though he should take to make do a job right around the house and he did good work. We had a of miscellaneous stuff around the house and we haven't been in a while and he had been here for a couple of days. They charge by the hour, I think.

They called me and asked if they could arrive a half hour early because they had finished their previous job early. I agreed and they arrived when they said they would. Jason started on the bathroom windows first. He vacuumed, then spackled and then proceeded to work on the vinyl floor. He did an excellent job on the floor and I was impressed he had the right tools for the job and knew exactly how to cut the piece of vinyl so it would fit perfectly. He then removed the caulk from the tub and then recaulked. Then he checked the window sills to see if the spackle were dry and they were so he painted them. He cleaned up all the trash and took it with him, which surprised me. He did an excellent job and we are thinking of calling them again to have more work done,.
