I purchased the Angies list deal to have backsplash installed in my kitchen. After purchasing the deal, I called to schedule the consultation. No one was available, so I left a message. I followed in the next couple days and Michael came out for the consult. Michael is very knowledgeable and pleasant. We had a very lengthy conversation, as there were some other projects that we were also considering. We decided to pay extra to have the membrane installed behind the backsplash as well as edge trim. Michael said that he'd follow up with me with an updated estimate for the additional work while we considered whether we wanted additional updates done to our kitchen. About 2 weeks later, we had not gotten the updated estimate. We decided not to have any additional work done so I followed up with Michael to schedule the job. I sent a couple emails with no reply. I followed up with a phone call a couple days later, at which time he also read the emails. He scheduled the project for the following Monday and said that I had to pay the balance by noon the next day to guarantee the services. I paid to make sure we'd get the project completed. Michael called Sunday afternoon to ask about rescheduling since they had double booked. I explained that my husband had already taken the day off for the work to be completed. They were able to work it out so the work could be completed. They did a great job on the installation. The worker (sorry, I don't know his name) stayed past 5 to finish the job and cleaned up. Michael also followed up a few days later to make sure we were satisfied and to say that he would be out to put the sealant on the backsplash. After that call, my husband called, I emailed and called. It took about 3 weeks to get the sealant portion completed. City Renovations is a good company that does very good work. And as I said before, Michael is very pleasant and knowledgeable. However, the responsiveness is an issue. I would have been much more frustrated if this were a bigger project.

Never was called back, as of today.

It was okay. I paid more and I was aware when I purchased the deal because I ended up with the entire fence repair. The work itself was good, I cannot complain. Overall I thought it was a little pricey. It was overpriced.

Very well. They responded timely and do excellent jobs all the time. They refunded the excess money I paid them timely. They are excellent.

Professional, knowledgeable, provided ideas and recommendation. This was a fun experience.

Not well. Took my 250 dollars with no job performed

I am disappointed that I still haven't been emailed the design I paid for. The provider left his camera and I notified him, he came and got the camera but I still haven't received a design. We were very far apart on cost. To redo a 750 sq ft basement he wanted $50,000.

This was a $99 big deal purchase for $200 worth of electrical service. The service was fine. It is just that I ended up paying more money. I think I paid about $69 extra. The thing was, it was $99 for $200 worth of electrical work. The guy was here less than an hour. I don't know how to put it; I don't know if it was a ripoff. The guy that they sent out here -- the service was fine. But I just thought having to pay more money than just install a light fixture. I had the light fixture and the old fixture had already been taken down because there was a ceiling fan there. They did not have to do any wiring or anything, it was already there ready for them. All they had to do was put the fixture in. I don't think it costs $200 to put in a light fixture. I thought it was overpriced. In the beginning the guy had sent me an email telling me another price, I think it was $300. He might have misunderstood what I was saying. The service from the guy they sent out to do the work was good. They showed up on time.

roughly decieved.Professional only spent half an hour at location. determined the problem. Told me what was needed. Said original timeblock was estimated at two hours. No refund. Would return when parts that is new kitchen lamp were supplied for and additional $ 165. A beak of $35.I felt totally deceived.

On August 31, 2015 we hired City Renovations & Remodeling LLC to remove wallpaper and paint 2 baths, 1 bedroom and a kitchen and to completely remodel a bathroom downstairs. We met with Mr. Michael Wiggs the owned and we gave him an overview on what we wanted done. Mr. Wiggs walked through every room with us and explain what the job would entail. We removed one room from the work order because of his suggestions. His suggestions saved us a lot of money. What was done: Wall paper removed and walls painted in 2 bathrooms, the kitchen and a bedroom. After the wallpaper was removed the walls were sanded, primer was applied and painted. To remove wallpaper you need a person who is detail oriented and patient. Mr. Ronald the man from City Renovations who was assigned to do our work was detailed and patient. When I had questions and changes he was very polite and professional. I was here during the entire process. I could see all that was involved and how Mr. Ronald went through the process of making the walls smooth. Mr. Ronald also gave me suggestions on things he thought we should change. Bathroom downstairs: The bathroom was demolished- Walls were removed and new walls installed. A new ceramic floor, a new vanity and bath accessories were installed and the entire room painted. In addition, City Renovations and Remolding corrected a problem we had in our kitchen. We had a contractor install new appliances and a new floor in our kitchen. Part of the work done by the contractor was horrible. Mr. Wiggs gave us suggestions on what needed to be done and completed the work for us. We were pleased!! The original work order included the rooms mentioned above (2 baths upstairs, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom downstairs) after looking at how Mr. Ronald repaired and painted the other rooms we added painting the Dining Room. We are very pleased with all our rooms!! It looks like a new house!!

Mike was great. He recommended a simple DIY fix that wound up saving us money.

All work was performed in a professional and timely manner. Repairman even provided repair advice if the problem occurred in the future for other doors and homeowner wanted to try personal repairs. Would gladly hire City Renovations & Remodeling LLC for future home repairs.

I didn't end up using the contractor that you guys connected me with because he was just way too expensive and the contractor I did use didn't turn out so well. What would be more useful with that service is if you connected people with 3 different contractors because normally you go out and get quotes from multiple contractors. And so just the one, if they are too expensive or they don't have time on their schedule then it is not very useful. They were a little pushy.

The timely repairs worked like a charm. All leaks were filled with a sealant both outside and on the inside of the porch windows. Mr. Wiggs took the time to explain exactly what he was doing during the time he was making the repairs, and made me feel very confident that I would not experience any further problems with rain water seeping through my repaired window seals.

I had City Renovations do a couple jobs in my basement: creating a doorway to separate a room from a hallway and investigate the cause of water damage along an exterior wall. I was very optimistic after my initial conversations and receiving the quote. The quality of the work was fine, but not exceptional. They did a decent job of cleaning up after themselves, but it wasn't spotless (inside was fine, I found plenty of material scraps in the backyard). My biggest complaint was that once work began it felt like there was a lack of project management. This was a multi-day project, but there were some days where the workers left and it wasn't clear to me whether, or when, they planned to return. I had to call to find out; that communication probably should've been proactive. There were a couple times where it wasn't clear to me whether they thought the work was done. The person doing the work was not the same person supervising. The supervisor clearly had multiple projects going on in multiple places, which is fine, but there were times it was clear I didn't have his whole focus. There were a couple instances where he didn't remember or mis-remembered conversations we had (the prescription of the water damage changed between visits), which I found troublesome. I gave them a B, but it could easily have been a C. They're better than most other handyman services I've encountered, but that's not saying much. They are responsive and certainly make an effort to be helpful, even if I had to take initiative. I would probably use them as handymen for smaller projects, but the lack of project management I experienced would make me hesitate to use them for anything more involved.

Fantastic - Can't tell there was a problem

The timeframe of the work was scheduled for 8am to 11am. Juan and another worker from City Renovations & Remodeling arrived at 8:30am. They immediately got to work and some time later the owner, Michael, arrived to check on their progress and he pitched in and began working as well. By 11am the work was completed by the three of them to my satisfaction. The owner was very friendly and helpful, providing insightful information about other projects I am contemplating. I would have rated them an A, however, they arrived 30 minutes late without calling me which is unprofessional. All said and done, I would use them again because the work was completed to my satisfaction.

My experience with city renovations and remodeling left me with renewed confidence in contractors! After an unfortunate experience with a bathroom remodeling project I called in Mike and his team to complete and correct the remodeling project. I was so pleased with the finished project I added a painting and Kitchen light remodel project. Mike has an excellent quality control system and is always on top of the timelines and promised deadlines. It was a pleasure to do business with City renovations and remodeling! I would definitely recommend this company to my family and friends.

I was able to fix the pipe on my own and skip the expense of repairman. Michael called me two days later to follow up and make sure everything turned out OK. I'm still considering their bid for actual work on my house, and will review them separately on that. But this was certainly a great first impression.

Called 2 weeks prior of requested date of service, 24 January. Was told 17th was too busy, so we agreed on 24th @ 9am. I asked about the 2 hr window and why can they just arrive when they are scheduled. He said they would be there at 9am, but for any reason they might be late, they will call. No call, no text. Never showed up. Also tried to get me to get into their rewards program before they every gave me estimate. Sad.

It went very well. They got there on time and finished quickly. They were very respectful and courteous.

He was a no call, no show. And when he did schedule for today he didn’t show up. **UPDATE** Michael Wiggs sent me a borderline threatening email in regards to my review, due to this I am revising this review and lowering his grade to reflect this. The reason I initially re-scheduled the service is because I was waiting for blinds that I had ordered that were on back order. He continually kept pressuring me to schedule, and when we finally got a date scheduled he did not show up.

Great service. Recommend staff wear uniform or logo shirt, present a card and identify themselves for future service.

I did not hear back from the provider within 48 hours so I called and left a voicemail. When I did not hear back within another 24 hours, I called again and reached Michael. He was very responsive and apologetic for not reaching out but also immediately tried to sell me on a "membership" to his new club. When he finished that promotion, he immediately scheduled service for the next day. I have forgotten the electrician's name which is a shame because he was terrific! He arrived promptly, worked efficiently, and was polite throughout. The work did take longer than I had paid for and when it reached that time limit, Michael called the electrician and quite loudly told him he had to get me to pay for more time or leave immediately. I could hear him yelling through the phone as I was standing next to the gentleman. I did pay for two additional hours and the work was completed within that timeline. I am very pleased with the quality of the work and with the professionalism of the electrician who was in my home. For that reason, I would recommend the company. However, the interactions with Michael himself were somewhat uncomfortable from the delay in contact to the hard sell on his club to witnessing his yelling at a staff member.
