I called Shawn on a Wednesday afternoon and he said he could be there the next morning. He was there, on time and did an outstanding job. He was very professional and knowledgeable. I would definitely use him again and recommend him!

He came and did the job quickly and expertly. He was a little pricey for the amount of time he spent, but given the high quality of his work he did , I was satisfied with the overall results.

Shawn is very busy this time of year, so it was challenging to finally find a time that we could get him out to our house. But once he got here, he was prepared w/very nice quality carpet and able to install it for a reasonable price right away. We're very happy w/both the carpet and the quality of his work. Plus, he's just a super nice guy! Will definitely use him in the future.

I liked his professionalism, his explanation of what was going on and what he would do. Very professional in his estimates. Just somebody you could really trust. I only went with one estimate and that was him.

We had heavy smoke damage at our house which necessitated the removal and replacement of existing carpeting in a study, 5 bedrooms and 2 hallways. We needed to purchase about 180 yards of carpet in order to complete the work. Based on the excellent reviews in Angie's List, we contacted Shawn. Shawn met us at our house and inspected the areas that needed replacement carpeting. He advised us not to install carpet in the basement due to high humidity and water issues, even though it was not in his interest to do so. He agreed to repair a very expensive carpet using some material that had been saved from smoke damage. Shawn helped us to select carpet that matched what we had previously used and arranged installation to suit our schedule. The installation and repair work went beautifully, and our contractor commented favorably on Shawn's work. Unlike retail stores, Shawn was on site doing the installation and repair work. He is meticulous and thoroughly knows his business. He is also one of the nicest people that you will ever meet. We recommend him without reservation.

Shawn responded to my email request in less than a day. He was very informative and knowledgeable. He was prompt, professional, and completed the work in a timely fashion. The finished product looks fantastic! I will definitely use Riley Carpet Services for all future carpet needs.

Overall, it went great. Shawn understands installing carpet is a job just about anyone can do, and he distinguishes himself from everyone else by providing better service, better pricing, and much higher quality work. I initially called Shawn after closing on a new home. He came out and took measurements, offered his opinions about which carpets would work best in the space we had, gave pricing and even recommended shopping around, which I did. We decided to choose Shawn because he always answers his phone, he is genuinely interested in doing a good job for his customers, and his prices were competitive with others offering the same product (both small shops and a "big box" type carpet store). When it came time for the installation, he was punctual and efficient. Proof was in the remains of the carpet; there was just enough to have on hand in case there is an accident down the line, but it was also clear he didn't force us to order excessive carpeting to make his job installing easier. All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Shawn to anyone, and I don't plan on calling anyone else the next time I have a need for carpet work.

Shawn came to the house and measured the area. I went to the warehouse to pick out carpet. The carpet was installed in about one week from time it was ordered. The installation took about 3-1/2 hours.

Shawn is amazing. I contacted him becuase I needed to have the steps to basement carpeted and did not want to spend a lot of money on it. He found some remnants for me. Once I picked the color out, he was over the next day putting it in. Did an outstanding job and came in way under other companies. I would highly recommend him for any job. He know carpets, is very honest and does a great job!

I 'met' Shawn here on Angie's List a few months ago, when I gifted my sister with new carpeting for her birthday (see my previous review). He was highly recommended here, and after meeting with different carpet salesmen/installers, my sister chose Riley's Carpet Services as the company she felt most comfortable with spending MY money with :) He did a fantastic job, and I am now the best sister of all. After seeing the excellent work Shawn had done at my sister's home, I felt motivated to finally do something about my own carpeting situation. I decided to give Shawn a call, along with 2 other companies, and do my own comparison shopping. Shawn showed arrived punctually for our appointment and gave me a mini-course on carpets. His prices were slightly higher than the other companies’, but I felt most comfortable with him. He measured the areas and we discussed what could be done about the steps. He assured me that he could eliminate the majority of the squeaking on the steps. He told me that all I needed to remove out of the rooms were my 'breakables'. We agreed on the following Monday for the installation. That morning, Shawn and his associate showed up on time and started working immediately. They worked nonstop - except for a very brief lunchtime - until the job was completed. Both men were very professional and friendly; they did an excellent job. True to his work, Shawn was able to get rid of the squeaking on the steps. YAY! Prior to the re-carpeting, I had emptied the clothes from all the dressers, etc. into large Rubbermaid bins and drug them downstairs; before the men left, they carried all of the bins back upstairs - saving this old lady an awful lot of work. Thanks, guys!!!!!! I am very pleased with the quality of their work, and would not hesitate in recommending Riley's Carpet Services!

Shawn arrived on time, was very professional, & even found another problem which he fixed.

I contacted Shawn via Angie's list and he responded immediately. Although we were out of his service range, he decided that there was enough work to make the trip from Maryland to York. I would so highly recommend Shawn and his assistant for this type of work because he is professional, and courteous, and did a great job. They moved furniture, and helped us so much, because of our age, and inability to lift . Above all, they treated us with respect, as many would not do for the elderly. If I ever needed his services, I would definitely call him again. Thank you Shawn and Mario!!

The hardest part of the job was forcing my sister to unload her china closet....:)

Shawn was professional, honest, reliable, neat and fairly priced. He removed the old carpet, picked up the new carpet, treated the floor; provided the padding, and perfectly installed the new carpet. It looks great and he left us with a beautiful new room! It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. He was easily accessible by phone and scheduled the job within the same week. Will be thrilled to work with him again.

We had to have our basement waterproofed, which involved having the floor ripped out, french drains installed, then new concrete. When this was done, we needed new tack strip put down, and the carpet had to be re-stretched after being partially rolled up (about 3-5 feet from the wall in about 60% of the basement) for over a month. I found Riley on here, and no other companies that offered straight up carpet repair. Shawn came out on a Monday to give us an estimate. He was out the next day with 2 workers, and in under 2 hours, the whole basement carpet was back in place, and the one repaired spot looked as good as new. Shawn, and both of his workers were very professional and friendly, and Shawn took the time to answer all questions and explain everything that would need to be done. Very pleased with their work, and hopefully we have no other carpet issues in the house, but if we do, I know exactly who to call!

Shawn was quick to respond to my call. Unfortunately, he is outside the service area. However, he did provide me with solid advice on the service I should expect and an estimated price. There aren't many contractors out there who will go the extra mile to offer advice when they aren't the one's completing the job. Thank you for your courtesy and the valuable information.

Shawn came and examined the room we wanted a new carpet installed in. He measured it, and then quoted a price, a good price, no haggling or any of that. ( I had multiple estimates and his was on the lower end but not the lowest) .We scheduled a time and he and his helper, Mario, arrived on time, pulled the bed out of the room and got to work. New carpet, new padding and new tack strips. They were good and efficient, replacing the previous tack strips that had problems (that I missed). After the carpet was replaced, they put the closet doors that had been previously removed (not by him, but by me!) and put them back on the closet, even though I did not ask about that ( a nice added bonus). We also talked about my noisy stair (it clanks as you walk on it) and they managed to lower the noise level of it with some quick handiwork. no extra cost. I would definitely recommend them.

Shawn arrived on time, and was very courteous. He took a look at the large wrinkle in the carpeting, gave me his estimate, and proceeded to fix the problem. They stretched the carpet diagonally to avoid having to reseam the entry way or take up the closet finishing strip. The room has some heavy furniture but with the aid of some carpet sliders this presented no issue. They cleaned under the bed which had extensive cat hair and were done within 45 minutes. This was a very pleasant experience and I would definitely use this company again.

Shawn answered when I phoned about an estimate. He offered to stop by that evening and to actually perform the work then too! When he came by, he realized the job was bigger than I had explained on the phone due to the amount of wrinkles and restretching needed. We discussed price, which I thought was quite reasonable, and he offered to come back in 2 days to complete the job. Shawn is very professional, courteous, and accomodating. I felt comfortable enough to leave a key out for him so that he and his team could complete the job while I was away from the house. Shawn and his team moved all of the furniture, completed hte restretching job, and left my home as they found it (except for the carpet wrinkles which were removed!). Shawn always answered or returned my calls promptly and was on time. I highly recommend Riley's for anyone in need of carpet installation/repair/servicing.

I had a time-sensitive job and Shawn was willing to come out the next day and do it. The end result looks great and he was very professional. I would recommend to others.

Shawn was very responsive, prompt and courteous throughout the process and worked with us to get within our desired price range. He even suggested ways to cut costs that he could have made more money on. During installation he discovered issues with our pad that he hadn't anticipated and replaced the pad withing the original price. His crew was very professional also and they got the job done quickly and it looks great. They matched the color with a nearby area very well also. They are a throwback to the days of good, honest people and I highly recommend them.

From the initial phone cal,l Riley's was very professional, straight forward (willing to give a guess-timate on the services), and HONEST. He also relayed quality information on the service and what to look for when doing business with an alternate company (because I couldn't use him due to distance constraints).
