American Heating & Air Conditioning Owner Josh Busch quickly identified and fixed the problem. Immediately upon arrival, he asked me to describe the problem indicators, immediately went to the basement, determined my HVAC system type and setup, performed a quick system function test, discovered the indoor fan motor was not running (causing the heat pump to overheat), replaced the fan motor capacitor with a spare part he had with him, performed another quick system function test, discovered the contactor on the heat pump outdoors was not releasing, replaced the contactor with a spare part he had with him, and tested the system. When he left 1.5 hours later, my HVAC problem was solved, and the system is running just fine. Josh impressed me as an extremely knowledgeable, skilled, and effective HVAC technician. He explained his test results, the root cause of each issue, and the proper remedy. He performed only the necessary work (no fluff) efficiently, effectively, and at a good price. For any future HVAC problems, I plan to use American Heating & Air Conditioning. They far exceeded my expectations. Great work.

I called and they were out the same day. Josh came to my house, diagnosed the problem and explained what was wrong to me in simple terms. I felt as if he was very honest and easy to work with. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone needing their help.

After talking with several possible service providers and obtaining various estimates on the job, I chose Josh and his company. I couldn't be happier. Josh arranged the whole estimate, and then job with me over the phone (given I am out of state), and completed a difficult job, replacing an outdated system with a reliable energy efficient unit. The new unit is working well, and my parents were very happy with his work. He was polite, flexible, responsive, timely, patient with questions and efficient. This is an honest, reliable, hardworking guy that wants his customers to be well taken care of. The icing on the cake is that his price was extremely competitive, and in all cases better than the other providers.

We turned on our upstairs A/C about 2 weeks ago when we had the first very hot day of summer. When only warm air came out of the vents we checked the outside unit and found it wasn't working We have a home warranty company and they put us in touch with American Heating and A/C that evening. Josh came out the next day, did a complete diagnosis and recommended replacing the unit, which was very old and had already been repaired several times by the home warranty company. When you meet Josh for the first time you can tell instantly that he is not only a hard worker but that he genuinely cares about what's best for the customer. It did take a few days to obtain authorization and order new equipment and we scheduled a date for Josh to come out and do the work. They had a cancellation and were able to come out a day sooner and complete the job ahead of the promised time. I'm not sure exactly how much the total job cost because the home warranty paid the bulk of it. I checked online for pricing of the equipment they installed. Based on model numbers in the owner manuals for the heat pump and air handler I'm guessing the total cost was $7000+ for this job.

They were able to help through the phone for free and that was great and nice. They're on time like they should be.

I purchased a Big Deal, and an appointment was promptly scheduled. Josh, the owner, performed the inspection. He was very thorough in his work. He asked questions about the system in an effort to improve efficiency, and provided money-saving tips. We would definitely use his services again. I would also recommend his company to others.

Josh showed up on time and his partner--his duct work guy--showed up shortly after him. Both of these guys are simply good guys. When you meet them you feel comfortable about who you are dealing with--a huge part of business. Josh got the remaining HVAC system, return and duct work all installed in one day just like he said he would do. The duct work looks awesome and the system works like a charm. We trust Josh and his work emphatically. To be clear to all readers, we don't know Josh personally; however, we feel as if we can trust him in our home without our oversight--another huge part of a successful business. The quality of American Heating and Air Conditioning's work is thorough, cost effective and done to order. I'd recommend Josh to anyone and I will use Josh again.

Josh thought he was going to be starting the job later in the evening but ended up being able to come out earlier then expected. He got here with his crew and got to work immediately. Josh quoted us the day before and didn't bust budget at all. Josh and his team got the new furnace installed in our old row house in Baltimore in, what we think, was record time--about 6 to 7 hours! He also hauled away the old furnace, which was a huge help when considering where we live and how difficult it is to get construction junk hauled away. When Josh was done we couldn't help but ask how much an entire central air system would cost, and when he told us, we were ecstatic. We won't say how much as of yet because he has not officially quoted us but we will be using Josh to outfit our home with central air. I can say this much about American Heating and Conditioning--they are who they say are and they do the job they say they will do. Josh and his crew stand by their work and fully embody the spirit of hard work. Replacing a furnace in a hundred year old row house was no small feat. We are more than satisfied with the work and we would HIGHLY recommend Josh and his company to anyone looking for Heating and Air Conditioning Services.

The job went perfect, the new duct work turned out beautiful- and now my system has become much more efficient, all my vents are putting out good air flow equally. I could not be happier!!!! Thank you

First off, you cannot beat this company for it's service! We noticed that there was a leak from our boiler/furnace after we turned on the heat for the winter (late Saturday night). We had to put a bucket under the leak to contain the water. We realized that was not normal and needed service. We were concerned that we would not be able to have it serviced on a Sunday!! After reviewing Angie's List, we decided to call American Heating and Air Conditioning. The owner, Josh Busch, came out first thing Sunday morning, and assessed our boiler/furnace, and determined that the leak was due to a non-functioning expansion tank. He replaced the tank that day, adjusted all the necessary valves, and our boiler is working perfectly, leak free. All done in 1 day! We thought we would really get hit with a large bill, not so! We were surprised how reasonable his charge was. Josh even called later in the evening to make sure that everything was fine with no leaks, and I was thrilled to tell him it was working great. I can't recommend this company enough, and will certainly use them in the future. I would also refer them to my family and friends. Josh was honest, immediate to respond to my call, thorough, and very reasonable in price, Overall, we were extremely pleased.

The heat pump/air conditioner is still working very well and he has been in contact ever since the repair. Because the weather had been unusually hot for October, when I paid him, I accidentally gave him $100 extra. When he got home, he realized and contacted us right away to let us know that we overpaid him. I have to admit, I probably would never have caught it! I was just so excited that we had AC again! I would highly recommend American Heating and Air Conditioning to everyone. Not only did he save us from a hugh expense right now, he is insanely honest! I've told everyone at work about him and have been telling my neighbors as well. I just can't say enough about how happy we were with our experience with his company.

When I can home form work in the evening, I realized that my AC unit was not putting out cool air. The next day, I placed a servcie call. It went great. They resonded to may call within hours. Upon diagnosis of the problem, they suggested an alternative "universal" fan motor which cost a third of the listed price for my system. I was up and running within 2 hours. Very professional and honest company.

He set up a date and time to perform the work and was very prompt and reliable with getting to our house. He completed the installation of the device and tested the operation, explaining to me and showing me how the float worked. I was extremely impressed with the amount of time and consideration to detail (showing me things on my unit) the tech took. He thoroughly cleaned up any mess that was made and gave me a well written and detailed ticket for our records. American Heating and Air Conditioning also gave us a great deal on a service agreement to keep our units running and guarantee 24/7 service. I felt the service tech/owner was incredibly professional and experienced; taking his time and answering any questions I had in a way I would understand. I would recommend this family owned business to any person that wants a trust worthy, affordable experienced and professional service company to do business with.
