Josh came out and gave us an estimate. He checked over our existing system and had good ideas. He got back to me with written prices in just a day and we decided to hire him. We scheduled the work and they came on time and installed both systems in just two days. We are pleased with the workmanship and we love the mini split system on the second floor. American was great to work with.

The member’s fee for a year would be $175. So, about $90. Just one person would come out. It took 30 minutes. What made me give them an “A” overall, is the punctuality. Left area very clean. What I think they did really well is, they informed me what the checks were, what they were looking for as they checked my furnace to make sure I understood what they were looking for, as to what they were doing to make sure my house don’t blow up.

I received an appointment in less than one day. The tech arrived on time and was very friendly. He quickly diagnosed the issue and went to see if the part might be under warranty. According to his supplier the air handler had never been "registered" so the unit wasn't warrantied in their system. The tech got a quote for the part, $1,000. Explained that if the unit had been "registered" the part would have been covered under a 10 year warranty and suggested calling the manufacture (American does not sell/rep the brand of my unit). He left and told me give him a call and let him know if I would need the part replaced. I called the manufacture on his advice and found the previous owner did pay for extended warranty contract (that wouldn't show in a suppliers database) and that the repairs would be covered. Unfortunately I have to use another hvac to complete repair so I can't give my business to American but I can definitely give them a strong recommendation. I was very impressed their service.

Our furnace was making odd noises and giving off a somewhat burnt odor. It was early December and we'd been using our heat since late September / early October. I called American Heating and Air Conditioning based on Angie's List reviews and because it was a small, local company. The call (I called on either Thursday or Friday) was politely and professionally handled. I was told the cost for the visit to diagnose the problem and given the option for a weekend/emergency visit based on their available schedule. We didn't believe it an emergency and I took the first time available on that coming Monday. On the service date, the tech was running late due to the work required on his earlier appointment. I was called and advised of his timing. He made it to my place within his revised time frame. He was polite, friendly, and professional. He listened to my explanation of the problems and went to work. He explained everything he was checking and what the cause of my problems might be. He made adjustments/fixes, answered all my questions, and went through several extra test runs at my request. The problems turned out to be minor (no added labor or parts) and I was charged the cost as told to me when I called. I was very happy with my experience and will use and recommend the company in the future.

The A/C unit went out during a storm on one of the hottest weeks imaginable. I had not used a HVAC contractor before so searched for someone local. I called early in the morning and my call was quickly and courteously. I was given a time for the technician (owner) to arrive and received a call that he was on the way. He arrived, went right to work and had the problem identified within minutes. He had the necessary part in the truck and before too long the system was up and running. That you would expect from anyone who reports themselves to be a HVAC contractor. But what set American apart for me was his manner, his ability to explain precisely what he was doing, his transparency regarding cost, and his sincere interest that I was satisfied with his efforts. It meant something to him, not just a slogan. I will use him for any future issues and replacement of my systems when the time comes.

Josh and his company were absolutely great. Our Heat Pump /AC unit quit working the Thursday night before Memorial Day weekend. I called first thing in the morning and added to the schedule at the end of the day on Friday. Josh worked on the unit for about 2 1/2 hours trying to get the compressor (only 3 years old) going. In the end we had to order a replacement to be installed after the long holiday weekend. The unit was still under warranty, Josh took care of all the coordination with the AC unit manufacturer and got the ordered. Josh offered to lend us a window AC unit for the weekend. It was great that he took the time to show concern about our comfort. It was a nice touch. On Tuesday the part was ordered and shipped out arrived on Wednesday and American Heating & Air Conditioning installed it on Wednesday afternoon. Josh and his company were polite, professional, and knowledgeable. They are now my go to company for AC issues in the future.

My units were 20 years old and I figured I would get estimates for a new a/c & gas furnace. I was impressed during the initial consultation how Josh came out and was informative about the units and decided to purchase within a few days of receiving his written estimate. He offered me a more than fair price, provided great service and worked around my schedule. Since I was having a deck installed for the a/c unit, we split the work up. He advised that before the units were installed to have my ducts and vents professionally cleaned out They came out on a Monday to remove the A/C unit, then came back the following week to install the furnace and a/c. He actually works on the weekends which is a huge convenience! 2 year labor warranty plus the 10 year warranty on the units. He even filed my BGE rebate for me so I was able to pay the lower prices and they were mailed the rebate. Cannot beat that service. You can't ask for anything better especially when you're making a large investment in your home.. I absolutely recommend their services.

The issue was quickly diagnosed as a broken blower motor. The tech pulled the old motor and mentioned that it may actually still be under warranty. After a bit or research it was confirmed that the unit was warrantied and so the cost was covered. We ended up only paying the service and labor costs which was far cheaper than buying a new motor. The work was completed in just a couple hours, including the tech needing to drive 20 minutes or so to pick up the new motor and back. The system turned right back on and has been 100% since then.

First of all these are the type of people that you want to work with. They are responsive and transparent, and are super patient explaining every step of the process. I truly feel Caitlin and Josh are the gold standard in customer service. I can not say enough as to appropriately express how amazing the experience was. They were prompt, knowledgeable, easy to deal with, fair, and fixed the problem. I recommend anyone who need a mechanical contractor to call American Heating and AC first!!

Christopher came on time. Cleaned the system with the Angie's List discount. I mentioned to him about the noise to the system when first start-up and cutting off. He noticed it was the blower. I asked him to replace the part. He not only did, but also took off the price for the tune-up of the system. I expected the bill to be about $400, but it only costed about $300. He also gave me an overview on how the system worker. Awesome job! Thank you.

The services was excellent! They came out the same day I called for an estimate ( I received 4 total quotations) and I had a written proposal that night. Once I selected them they installed with 48 hours. We are very pleased with their responsiveness.

All went well. Very satisied. will use this provider again.

Very nice, timely and professional. Came up with a much cheaper solution than getting a second AC unit to cool off the upstairs.

Josh explained the system and annual maintenance which was extremely helpful to me as a first time homeowner. We will definitely be using this business in the future.

Seemed like a nice young man and was very responsive when I was paying out of pocket. A/C unit went out again 3 weeks after his service, arranged with warranty company to have him be able to come repair/replace unit. Says 24 hour service on web site, guess this only applies if paying out of pocket because he couldn't get to me for a week when I explained it was a warranty company this time. Waited the week because of reviews that I read here, figured it would be worth it. One hour prior to his appointment I get a text, not even a phone call, saying he has suddenly become ill with a stomach virus, wonder if it was the same one that he claimed he was just getting over three weeks prior. Been without A/C for a week and I'm sure I could have found another company in the interim. Not very professional to text a client and tell them you can't make it and it might be tomorrow or maybe the next day, I know because I am in the business of customer service as well. If you don't want the job just say so up front, you can bet that I will relay my experience with your company to everyone I come in contact with. I had no problem getting a different company out the following day. I guess your idea of reaching out to me was a text message on my phone? News flash...that isn't acceptable to anyone in any form of business. If you can text you can call. You also said you would be there Friday at 1pm, not Saturday as you claim,. that only appeared in your text message, 1 hour prior to your scheduled appointment and make no mistake, you will not ever see any of my money in the future so you need not worry about customers like me ever being YOUR customer again.

Response from provider was immediate. Service was, from start to finish, very prompt, thorough and well-done. The service provider's office and provider himself kept us regularly informed of status and was organized around scheduling and providing quote and information. Service was provided in a professional and courteous manner. Very much appreciated the follow-up contact post-install to confirm that all was good. Service was truly top-notch. I thought I would have to replace the whole system, but Josh found the problem and repaired it . He is extremely knowledgeable and very honest. I would highly recommend his service.

Once we were able to book Josh and his services--he's a commodity--we got great service yet again. Josh showed up on time, got the job down for the price quoted and in the time quoted. Josh's advice and expertise saved us from having to buy a second HVAC system, which was where we were headed if we hadn't reached out to him first. The job was done clean; no mistakes or damages. Everyone at American has been absolutely wonderful. I purchased an older home with an older furnace, which suddenly went out on me in December. The problem was complex, requiring multiple calls, but everyone at American was diligent in getting it fixed as soon as possible. Their communication with me was excellent, as was their response time and skill in diagnosing and fixing the furnace. They did a great job -- I can't rate them highly enough.
