Description of Work: Air conditioner was not working. They replaced a part. Very friendly and knowledgeable person, we actually signed up for maintenance service with this company.

Description of Work: Summer AC check up. I have service 2x a year summer and winter. |They installed a new Trane a/c heat pump and air handler about 1 1/2 years. They did a great professional job. The system works great.

Description of Work: The air conditioner was continuously on without blowing out air. They changed the thermostat to a programmable thermostat. We are VERY pleased with their work.

Description of Work: Called for oil furnace issue. They came out the same day during a severe cold spell. My furnace was very unique and they admittedly did not have the knowledge set to work on it. They did not charge for the visit.

Description of Work: Our oil-fired boiler furnace hadn't been serviced in 8 years, (way, way too long), and by last winter it had gotten so dirty inside that it began cutting off and smoking badly upon start-up. I wanted it to get a good, thorough cleaning, but it can be pretty tough to find a company that doesn't pressure its employees to rush through jobs as quickly as possible and get to the next house. Kevin arrived right on time, and when I told him how long it had been since it had been cleaned, he knew from experience that it would take extra time. He let me know right away that it would take longer to get it properly cleaned, and that he'd need to bill me for the extra time. I was fine with that, and hoped that he'd work hard enough and long enough to justify the extra cost. Time would tell. | |I worked at my desk, near the top of the stairs which lead to the cellar and the furnace, while Kevin worked. I took a look when he opened the combustion chamber. It was crammed with crud! I returned to my desk while Kevin scraped, and scraped, and scraped... Once the scraping (and vacuuming) stopped, I went back down there. He was cleaning out the vent pipe. The metal vent goes into a brick chimney. Over the years, a lot of mortar had fallen and combined with soot from the furnace. It wasn't quite sealed off, but it was badly restricted. I guess we were lucky the furnace started acting up when it did, forcing us to call for service. We have a carbon monoxide detector in the cellar, but I don't want to have to rely on it. | |Holtzople was running a $139 special for routine maintenance. It included a new filter and oil nozzle, in addition to the cleaning. Kevin also used some electronic equipment to analyze performance before tidying the area. Adding taxes and extra labor brought it to a little over $200. I feel that it was an excellent value. Kevin was professional, personable, and very focused on being both fast and effective. I highly recommend the company. |

Description of Work: Used Holtzople to install a brand new heat pump system in my home and not only was there absolutely no pressure as I had many options, but they didn't try to sell me the top/most expensive unit or brand, they actually pushed just the unit I needed. They left a catalog of other add-on's I could install such as humidifiers and such but did not pressure, just asked me if I had any questions. When it came to install, they were incredibly neat and quick about their work and when done, they took the time to show me everything they had done, how it worked, answered questions even though it was well past quitting time. Follow-up questions and a routine free post-install inspection were handled with absolute ease. This is the first HVAC company that I am truly impressed with and would highly recommend.

Description of Work: The receptionist was very friendly and Andre was able to come out fairly soon after calling. I was told that a leak was suspected and the inspection would cost $180. The next day I received a phone call stating that there was a leak and the coil replacement would be about $2500. He also suggested that I get a free estimate for replacing the entire unit. Of course I went for a second opinion who was a family friend. While I was with him he discovered that the problem was a part of the AC was clogged and that was the only problem. He only cost $100 for time and repair. And there was absolutely no leak. Be careful!

Description of Work: On a Sunday night, furnace suddenly made a loud grinding noise that persisted. Yellow pages revealed Holtzople did 24 hr emergency service. Called the company and left a message, immediate return of call and made arrangements to come. Arrived on time, made repair and gave recommendations, Did not recommend new replacement system, just how to keep existing functioning well. Honest, responsive and informative.
