USA Insulation

Everyone I spoke with was very nice and helpful. They told us about the Pepco rebate program (they work with another company who files all the paperwork). Once I did a little research, I discovered we would be able to qualify for a $2k rebate. We decided it would help off set the upfront cost and presumably we would make up the other expense over the next few years with reduced utility costs. We also liked that the people who would do the job are not contractors but actual employees. The crew arrived at our house about 5 minutes before the agreed time and worked like a well oiled machine. 2 guys did the attic while the others started working on the outside. It took the whole day (8a-6p) to complete the project and the guys cleaned up pretty well especially inside the house. That evening we could immediately feel a difference. We had to have 2 service visits after the installation because our pod lights keeping going out in the kitchen but they were very responsive each time. We haven't had any other issues since. Also, the guys that came out both times were the same guys who did the original installation. It is worth noting that the insulation put in the walls has a light odor that I could smell for about a week after. My husband couldn't smell it after the first day and says I just have a really sensitive nose. The only down side is that we have mental siding and the panels that were removed for the installation are dented more than the other panels. I'm not sure if this is just because they are mental or if the guys were a little rough taking them off and putting them on.

I ended up not using the coupon because the project would have cost too much, but the person I spoke to on the phone was very nice and knowledgeable.

We actually had some people and talk to us about changing of our heating from oil to gas, and one of the people who came said it wasn't really going to make much difference until we got some insulation in the house and one of them had actually worked for USA Insulation so he suggested them. Then we called for an estimate and we were happy with what they said so we went with them. The work went very well; there were four guys who came out first thing in the morning, they were here all day and were very pleasant. They were Hispanic but still spoke very good English and were very polite and cleaned up everything. They even played with my dog. They broke for lunch for about half an hour and then got right back to work. It was wonderful.

They did a great job. My house is not drafty and the energy efficiency is much better.

We had problems with a different company who did our energy audit, and Brian at USA Insulation fixed us right up! His price was fair, his service was outstanding, his crew was so polite and professional. Brian responded immediately when I called, understood the problem I was having, offered to help, gave me a quote quickly, scheduled me for service the next week, the crew was on-time, did more than expected, cleaned up spotlessly, kept me informed of their progress, showed me the finished work and got my "okay" before removing their equipment. This was easy and yet so nicely done. I would recommend this team to anyone looking to install more insulation in their home.

Got comprehensive evaluation and they gave me my options. Decided on just attic - that was their recommendation. They were professional, prompt and did a great job!

I called to set up the appointment. After discussing the house size, Brian determined that it would be close to $6000 to be able to do the full house so I went with another company. I appreciated his honesty.

Our 1950s home has very distinct temperature zones and very little insulation. We had USA come give us an estimate for whole home, attic, and above the garage ceiling (our MBR floor). The representative met us in the evening to accomodate our schedule, gave us the amounts, and did not pressure us to commit on the spot but within a day or two. We decided to have the attic and garage done. The appointment was easy to schedule, the workers arrived promptly and they did a great job cleaning up after themselves. It was very professional from start to finish. The insulation appears to be making a difference in keeping our house a more consistent, pleasant temperature.

My son's room gets very cold in the winter. We had to run a space heater in his room overnight, which is not safe, and cost $40/month in electricity. We called three companies for insulation quotes. USA insulation was the most expensive, but we chose them because they were punctual, communicated well, and were able to fix the problem from the outside of the house. Doing one wall is a small job for them, so they scheduled it when they had another job in the area. They showed up with a big truck, during my daughter's nap. I thought they were going to be really loud with the pump and the drilling, but they got everything done cleanly and quietly, and didn't wake her up. A month later, I can say that my son's room is a lot warmer, although still not perfect. They were not able to get insulation below his windows because there was no access from the outside. However, it's warm enough that we can turn off and remove his space heater and he can still be comfortable. I don't know how much electricity we will save beyond the $40/month space heater, but it is a lot more comfortable now.

We had recently bought an older home. We noticed that the temperature in our house was constantly in flux and the A/C & Heat were always on. We saw an Angie's deal for attic and whole home insulation. The were very prompt in setting up an appointment after we had purchased the deal. They arrived very early on the day of the appointment. They were very professional. Even though the entire process took about 7hrs they were very busy the entire time. They were checking their work every step of the way and constantly kept me informed about what they were doing.

Apart from the noise of the machines, and as invasive as the process was, it was not that bad. The USA insulation workers were very nice and went to work drilling the numerous holes in the outside of the house, while one was blowing in the attic and another was placing fiberglass in the basement. I paid extra to have these additional services as well as plugging up other holes in the wall outside where wires had been removed. Prior to their arrival I had to move things in the basement to make the walls more accessible. Outside, excess foam was scattered throughout the yard and walls, but dissipated within a few weeks with rain and wind . The whole process can go as fast as you make the appts, mine was a little drawn out so as yet have not received the rebate, I am still hopeful. The only thing I wish I had done as the indep. guy had recommended, was to have the previous cellulose insulation in the attic vacuumed out and replaced with the new stuff because of the dust the cellulose causes. I just did not want to pay the extra, so now I still have a dusty home and I hate to vacuum, oh well. However, it was still warm when the insulation was blown in the walls and I noticed right away that my AC did not go on as frequently, but the house was quite humid. When I mentioned this to the indep guy, he suggested that I keep the fan on ON and not AUTO as the filters would still remove some of the humidity. So I will do that next summer. My dtr says with the insulation in the wall between her room and the bathroom, she hears less "bathroom noises" especially filling of the tub and flushing. Also, her bed is near an outside wall and usually was a very cold place. She has noted a distinct warming in that area now and her room is way more comfortable. I am happy as her room and bathroom were one of the main reasons were did the insulation. Also, in the future, USA said they could return and put insulation between the bedroom walls, but with a certain $$ minimum, so I will budget if we decide to do that. In conclusion, I would like to say that I did talk with a few big companies that advertised insulation and just never felt comfortable with their plan as it was always my outside walls that were not insulated and their plans did not address this problem. I am so happy that I found USA insulation and they were able to use a state of the art dense insulation product and place it in the wall from the outside, not inside messing up my sheetrock. The repair to the cement where the holes were drilled is hardly discernable unless you are looking specifically for them. Thank you USA for your specialized service, glad I found you.

While paying $29 for what basically was an appointment for getting an estimate seems a little odd, the service was great and the small expense was made up for by applying a generous credit to the actual order for getting the house insulated (still to be performed).

Saw this on Angie's list and gave as a gift to son to improve original insulation in his house. He had mentioned in the past that they have a hard time keeping upstairs of their townhouse warm in winter and cool in summer. House already has roof ridge vent and ventilation on both sides. Turns out this is a common complaint in his neighborhood. Some of his neighbors put in vent fans to try to help, however since the construction was done properly and is vented correctly, a fan is not a good idea. Contacted Brian at USA Insulation to make sure giving as a gift is no problem. He confirmed not an issue, so I placed bought the deal. I forwarded the confirmation on to my son. Son emailed Brian to set up an appointment on November 7th. Very easily done and team was punctual. The job looks great. I'm guessing that they received even more than R19 added on top. Everything very evenly laid out with no insulation on gable vents. I was told that they laid down cloth to protect carpeting when job was being done. Also was told that my son was able to climb up into the attic to watch it being done. Afterwards they invited him back up to inspect to make sure he was satisfied - both he and his wife are thrilled with the work. USA Insulation did a very good job. Thanks!

We were very pleased with how punctual and professional the team was. They were also very accommodating at working around our 1 year old's schedule. Overall the work was well done.

Contacted USA Insulation for estimate on putting blown-in insulation over existing insulation in attic of my 35+ year old house. Although, I believe they overestimated the amount of sq. ft. I needed, I think the final price was still pretty fair. The installation crew arrived right on time. They protected all my furnishings and belongings during the installation and they cleaned up after themselves when they were finished. In all, the installation was very tidy, professional and efficient - it took less than 3 hours from start to finish.

Very good overall. Easy to set up an appointment for an estimate, reasonable price, easy to schedule the service, installers were good and did a good job and worked quickly and left the house in good shape. The explained what to expect, were reputable, and responsive.

I found USA on Angie's list. They were responsive to my request for an estimate, timely in showing up for that estimate, flexible in scheduling a day to do the work, and prompt when it came time to start the work. The were done quickly the day of, but, they did not rush. I live in the middle of the city in DC, and parking can be a hassle, along with street cleaning and other things. The guys doing the work were not phased and things went well. I am very pleased and can tell the difference in the quality of the comfort level in the basement.

Their people were very knowledgeable, professional and courteous. They were not pushy, but did follow up and were very accommodating. We really like the spray foam product that they used, since it did not require that we tear down the drywall first ,and they did a great job of patching up the holes in the drywall before they completed the job. We were pleased with their work, so much so, that we are already thinking once we are ready to add insulation to the walls that we will call them back. Needless to say, we would recommend them to others.

They arrived within the window of time I was given by the owner. They were polite and very careful in the home. They blew in the insulation which was much quieter than I had expected. They let me see their work - which was very nice. The insulation was spread very evenly. They had installed a baffel around the attic hatch so they could really blow in a lot of insulation right up to the opening. They installed additional insulation over the top of the opening so I would not loose heat in the opening. They cleaned up very nicely and were very nice. Total time was about an hour and a half.

I thought that they were incredibly professional and good throughout the whole process. The salesman was knowledgable and not pushy. The price was in line with what I had researched and expected to pay. Maybe a little less. The gentlemen that did the work were courteous, professional and very hard working. Very conscientious about keeping the house clean. In the aftermath, my energy bill has definitely gone down significantly. I do not foresee that it will take me very long to recoup on my investment. I was getting summer energy bills for like $350 this summer they were easily below $150. Also, unsuspected side effect. They house is quieter and feels solid. It's hard to explain but as soon as they finished we all noticed a different feel to the house. I have to attribute it to how much quieter it is.

Initial consultation went very well. Installation was efficient, clean, and quiet by friendly and knowledgeable installers. I was very happy with USA Insulation and would recommend them highly.
