USA Insulation

Their quote was higher than the two others I received. It seemed this was because their math on the square footage of my attic was way high. However I thought USA's product was better than their competitors. So I called them and asked why their square footage was so high and therefore the price. The gentleman looked up the square footage of my house on the property records and agreed that his employee had made an error in the mathematics of the square footage and blamed this on the employee's ailing health. He apologized, we agreed to an unbeatable price, then we set a date. The installers were on time and took almost 8 hours to blow in insulation for 1500 sq ft. There are two things that the installer did that earn USA Insulation an A rating. First, one of my bathroom exhaust fans didn't have the proper tube to exhaust it out through the insulation. The installer added the tubing to the fan and didn't charge me. Second, the installers accidentally broke a light bulb in the attic. I've never have to replace a broken bulb that was still screwed in the socket and thought I was going to have my hands full when they left. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they replaced it. In the attic they used measuring tape stickers to show me that they had in fact placed 17.7 inches of insulation as promised. Before they left, they cleaned as if they were never there.

I had specific dates I needed the service performed. The company scheduled & arrived on regulated dates. Very thorough & professional.

We live in a house build in the 60's and an energy Audit indicated that we needed insulation in attic but we were skeptical as we already had some bat insulation in place. Contemplated to have it done by some handy man renting insulation blowing machine from hardware store but eventually decided to get it professionally installed by USA Insulation. We were pleasantly surprised to see the results once the job was completed almost instantaneously. 1- As the temperature pulmeted to below freezing first week of January 2014, our house stayed much warmer than before. 2- Although it is too early to anaylze energy savings but our furnace heat kicked in almost 50 percent less. 3- As a side effect the noise level from street has decreased as insulation seems to have some noise muffling effect. The difference US Insulation made to the comfort level in the house speaks for itself. We have mad many renovations to the house like kitchen and bath remodel but this one to our surprise gave us the most return on investment and comfort. I called a couple other places and the person on the phone couldn't answer any of my question, give me an estimate, or do anything except schedule an appointment 2 weeks later. Then I called USA Insulation. The guy was friendly. More importantly, he listed to what I needed. He was knowledgeable and discussed my option and the prices for each. He was able to schedule the service for the next day! He encouraged me to sign up for AL to get the discount. The price was far cheaper then the competitors' AND I got 18" for the price of 12". The service men were perfectly on time, were professional and clean (they covered the floors, no messes, etc). Great experience.

The Provider could not service my area. I was able to get a refund through Angie’s List. I appreciated that they were quick with their response and professional about it.

The workmen were punctual, polite and cleaned up well after they were finished. They even moved some things away from the window to use it as an access for the tube to pump in the insulation. They cleaned up after themselves nicely. This has changed the temperature in my upstairs which is now much warmer.

They showed up on time, the price was right. They sent someone to establish the requirements of bringing the insulation back to code. This gentleman was outstanding and very knowledgeable with his work. The two man crew did an excellent job with the work and establishing it back to the standard.

Installers were on time and cordial. Performed the agreed work and showed us the finished product. Cleaned up following the work. Excellent job!

They arrived on time and got right to work. They were polite and easy to talk to about the work. They did a great job cleaning up afterwards.

These guys were amazing. First of all, When they came to give the estimate, the guy (I forget his name.) was friendly, helpful, and seemed genuine. The thing that really stuck out to me was his comment "the whole point of insulating is to save money. You don't want to waste money on heat, and if you spend too much on insulation it defeats the whole point." We originally signed up to have the crawl space insulated AND the attic. Unfortunately, my fiancee and I had a little miscommunication with the finances, and we were unable to do both. He suggested we do the attic, as it would save the most in heating costs, and let us out of the contract for the crawl space. When the company came to insulate, they were clean, nice, and efficient. The prior owners had a little rodent problem, and the screens covering the attic vents were missing. The guys went above and beyond to make sure that we were all sealed up and wouldn't have that issue again. I can already tell the difference in the house. The top floor is toasty warm even when the heat is barely on.

great experience with USA insulation. workers showed up on time and were very friendly. they had me check every big step that they finished to make sure that everything was performed to my satisfaction. they answered all my questions about insulation that i had and seemed happy to share their knowlege with me and explain the 'why' of what they were doing which was great. will definitely recommend them/use them again for future needs.

I selected this contractor because of the 'straight A' Angie's List ratings they have received. My daughter and son-in-law need attic insulation in the town home they recently purchased, and this coupon for 200 sq. ft. for $20, of their 640 sq. foot attic, was a good deal. I missed the fine print about town homes being excluded. I don't understand why they have the exclusion (and didn't ask), but assume it's too small a job?

Everyone we worked with was very courteous and knowledgeable. The service went as planned with no problems. I definitely recommend this company to others.

The crew was on-time and professional. The work was done well and in a timely manner. My only complaint is the estimator/salesman sold me a attic stair cover that was way too big to fit between the trusses. The office removed it from the bill, though, so I never paid for it.

To start, the scheduling of an estimate was pretty rocky, but Brian was great about making it right and did/said everything right to make sure we still wanted to have the work done. Sometimes mistakes happen, but the difference is always how it is handled by the company and this was an example of good customer service. The estimate was done very professionally and without incident. It was very honest and thorough. The crew of two guys came in and were very thorough with laying down sheets to cover the floors and protect them from damage. They were up in the attic for the morning and were very polite and professional. When they were done, they showed me the results and the attic looked very smooth and even. As he was coming down the ladder, he showed me the barrier for the attic entrance and then closed it up. All in all, a very good experience. Definitely use them for any insulation needs!

They gave me a nice estimate breakdown, and I was able to pick the areas that I really wanted to cover. They created a decent barrier around the attic access do so the insulation would not fall out every time you open, also included extra Insulation blanket to cover the access for better seal. They showed up on schedule and performed a nice job with even blown in insulation in the attic. This is an update: After having the home energy audit (March 2014) I found out that the work was not done to any proper standards when it comes to sealing openings, putting baffles in the rafters for ventilation and we had insulation falling down the vent shaft all the way to the basement right on the gas water heater. The coverage and materials were fine. I would suggest you only use them if your needs are basic.

Provider added insulation to the attic, installed a cap over the pull down stairs, and put boxes around the light fixtures so that warm air wouldn't leak out in the winter. Overall happy with service.

They were great timely and professional and I would highly recommend them.

Provider showed up on time, but was off in terms of the time estimate (it took longer than quoted), which left my wife concerned about making an appointment she had later in the day. The installer said the reason the discrepancy was that his "friend" - which I assume was the other installer - was sick. And indeed, my wife can report that she as treated to sound of the sick installer getting sick in our bathroom. Yuck. My biggest disappointment however was with the "rep" who sold us the work. He could not have been sweeter when he came to our house and sold us the insulation services. When we thought we'd have a problem with duration of the installation, I called the rep to say we potentially had a timing issue with the length of the appointment due to the sick installer. These things happen of course, but I expect a good sign of customer service to have my point of contact take steps necessary to solve an issue; instead, the rep directed me to call the "home office." When I said that I'd prefer to make just one call, and suggested that he handle the situation, he became quite curt with me - perhaps it was my fault the company had a sick worker on site? It wasn't that he was unhelpful, it was that he was unwilling to help. This left a bad taste in my mouth/feeling about the company rep, and therefore about the company - as in, once the sale is made, the homeowner is on their own. Definitely not my expectation for a well-rated Angie's List service provider. The insulation is in, and I suppose we'll see about the energy savings in the future, but this was not a stellar customer experience in my view. **Update: I had a call with the business owner, who was extremely apologetic about the situation during my install, and for the unprofessional interaction with his rep. Based on this interaction, I've amended my "responsiveness" and "professionalism" grades to "C" (formerly "F") . Addititionally, I've amended my "would you use in the future" answer to a "yes." This is clearly a business owner that wants to do right by his customers (which his grades appear to indicate), and I'd like to believe that a future interaction would go much more smoothly.

The consultant who came out told me that actually my insulation was adequate and that it wouldn't be worthwhile to add more insulation. I appreciated the honesty.

Our upstairs was several degrees warmer than the rest of the house this summer. I had to USA add attic insulation to help with this problem. They arrived on time and set up the equipment is a way that would not be disruptive (I work from home). At the end they set up a ladder so I could inspect the work prior to signoff. No problems.

I made initial contact through Angie's List and I received a call back the same day. The representative who provided the estimate was very professional and friendly and explained everything thoroughly. He examined and measured our attic. Turns out we barely had any insulation! He also provided an overview of what would we can expect on the day of installation. We indicated that we wanted to purchase the the deal on Angie's list but had waited until the estimate to ensure that we would actually use the service and he let us buy it on the spot. The installers were very professional and friendly as well. They arrived at the agreed upon date and time and ensured everything was to our liking. Once the job was complete, they cleaned up and allowed us to do a final review of the work. We are very satisfied with the work performed and we no longer have hot spots which means my husband and I no longer fight over the thermostat :) Highly recommend this company!!

USA insulation came to my house to survey the job and give an estimate. Personable and friendly estimator. Two men showed up at my house on the installation date, on time and ready to work. Job was done professionally without disturbing my home. Cleaned up any residue before they left. Well done!! Highly recommend. Very easy.

The service providers arrived right on time, told me what they were going to do, show me what they did, and left right on time & did a good job. All in all - I was pleased.
