It went very well. The customer service was excellent. I called Kolb on a Wednesday evening and the next day they came out to do the job. The service technician was on time and courteous. He introduced himself, made an accurate assessment of the job. Explained the problem and how it would be resolved. He completed the task within 2 hours. Very thorough and cleaned work area.

No problem from start to finish.

He arrived early. I was fine with that. He took a look around at the outlets in question. He replaced the gfi outlet the other outlets were connected to. All outlets worked. He also explained the electrical system and why it happened. He gave me some tips about how the town home is wired. Very professional. Great price. We would hire them again.

My electric oven door would not unlock (after running the self-clean cycle) -- the Monday before Thanksgiving. They came on Tuesday morning, arrived on time, and even called 30 minutes before arrival. They unlocked the door and found the circuit board was fried. They did not have the part locally, but went to Northern VA the next morning, and came back to my house in Ellicott City, MD by 2 pm on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving... and finished the job. Just in time for my 25 guests that started arriving at 4 pm that day.

The electrician installed 1 surge protector in each panel box. While he was in the panel box he noticed a burnt neutral wire and repaired it. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Just make sure they install all the panel face plate screws back when they are done.

He was a very nice guy. It was last minute and he was timely. He did his job and it was a good service. I was in a bind and this house had to be closed because of a divorce proceeding. He was very understanding and came out and did what he said he would do. I thought he was really professional and I felt comfortable with him.

I purchased the Big Deal. The worker came, installed the surge protector quickly with little mess or disruption. I would call them again if I need other electrical work done.

They are prompt, friendly, and did a good job. They are always very professional.

During renovation, needed Electrician ASAP. Called and electrician came out that day. Performed work on moving lines in wall, installing recessed lights, ceiling fixture, moving outlets. Added several items to list including additional outlets. All work done timely and seemingly good work (I am not an electrician but it looks good.) Price a B. Well......I was really in a tough spot and did not have time to shop. Seems OK tho.

I had a great experience with Kolb Electric! I purchased an older condo in December (built in the 70s), and one of my main concerns was the aluminum wiring in the place. Aluminum wiring was used in a lot of older homes during a copper shortage several decades ago, but since most fixtures use copper wiring, these homes have a lot of connection points where aluminum wires are twisted onto copper wires. These connections are prone to overheating, which can start fires, and as aluminum degrades, the problem only gets worse over time. Aluminum wiring is not a code violation, but when my home inspector raised the concern, the sellers of my place offered to give me a credit to have repairs made. Mitigation of aluminum wiring concerns can follow any of several strategies, but the one that made most sense for me and my price point was the installation of AlumniConn connectors at all the points where aluminum meets copper wire. My home inspector also recommended a new electrical panel because mine was over 30 years old and made by a company with a reputation for faults. I looked into several electricians in the area using Angie's List and called four to get quotes. The receptionist was friendly and helpful over the phone, even while I asked a lot of questions trying to compare companies. Kolb sent over an electrician to assess my condo and give me estimates on replacing my electrical panel and applying safe connectors to all my outlets, switches, and fixtures. My condo association had recently used Kolb Electric to do some work on the aluminum wiring in the public areas of my development, and they were familiar with the design and common trouble points of the homes in my community. The estimate I got from Kolb was the least expensive of the electricians I talked to, they were the friendliest, and they were also the most knowledgeable about my community. The choice was easy. I paid a deposit of 1/3 the estimate up front, and they ordered the materials they would need. They called me to schedule the work. once the materials came in a couple of business days later. Kolb sent two electricians to do all the work. They arrived on time at 8am, were friendly and efficient, and finished around mid-afternoon. (Other companies told me this work could take two days!) Of course, in an older home, unexpected problems arose during the work. They found that someone had improperly installed a new junction in my wiring at some point, switching the polarity in three rooms. They told me they needed to find the point where the problem happened, and explained they might have to put a hole or two in my walls to access the wiring point. One guy actually crawled up into the attic via my neighbor's access to try to see the wiring (unfortunately, it turned out our attics don't connect). An educated guess discovered the problem point -- the ceiling light in my entryway had been installed by an amateur, and the wiring on both sides of the lamp needed mending. The electrician showed me black scorch marks on the wires where the improper junction had overheated in the past, which made me very glad he had insisted on locating the bad connection. He installed a new junction box in the ceiling and cleaned everything up. This correction ended up costing about $240 more than I'd originally expected to pay, but I'm extremely happy they found and fixed the safety issue. During the work, they accidentally broke the glass cover of one of my hallway lamps, and gave me a credit on my bill to cover its replacement. They also installed a dimmer switch I had bought at no extra cost. I was very happy with the way everything turned out. I now feel safe using all the outlets in my home.

Electrician was friendly, up front, and quick to finish the work. He did not inflate the price, nor did he try to find other work to do outside of what I asked him to do. The work was for the closing of my house and he did an admirable job in pricing it and completing the work, all in the same day.

Install in a timely manner.

The electrician was very professional and very thorough.

Wil came on time, analyzed what had to be done and gave me a great estimate. When I asked when could I make an appointment to schedule the work, he said he could do it the same day. He was knowledgeable, professional, and very neat. It took just a little over an hour to complete the work. I have found an electric company that I can call for all my needs.

The day started on a very high note -- they arrived when they said they would. The two electricians worked well together, were very professional in all aspects and completed the work as scheduled (in one day). They were very cordial and helpful. I was impressed that they explained and constantly asked if we understood what they were doing and why. Overall rating is an A +++. Very thorough on clean up and left nothing for us to pick up or put back in place. It was a very positive, delightful experience.

After the technician experienced some difficulty removing the electric panels, the installation went well. An additional charge was assessed because of the difficulty in removing the electrical panel, which surprised me. I paid the additional charge. In the future it would be helpful if the company explained that there could be additional charges for various conditions.

The service was prompt and professional. This is, at least, the third time I've used their services over the last four years. They will continue to be my first call for electrical work.

Very well, Wendy help set up the appointment, was very fair on price and the electrician was knowledgeable, kind and quick.

They gave us a quote and the price stayed as quoted - an electrician walked around for the quote and noted all the items we wanted fixed / updated. The work was expected to take 2-3 days, which they completed (mostly) in 2 days. They worked well and tried to provide a minimum of disruption to us (though not entirely possible considering the work). They were also able to find the source of one particular troubling issue with an outlet that previous electricians did not (the outlet wasn't dead - just wouldn't work with my washer - tripped the circuit breaker in my washer, though the washer worked if I used another outlet on a different circuit).Generally, they cleaned up. Issues? They forgot to mention that we would need an inspecting for the new main box and that BGE had to come out to connect the new service. This was extra time someone needed to take off from work and we had not originally planned for. I understand that it had to work that way, but it's preferably to know this in advance so that you can plan accordingly. They also forgot to mention what the inspector would look for and I didn't have something open that should have been (lucky the inspector was ok with the delay). There was also one light that didn't work after the first day (outside and forgot to check myself). One of the 2 same men cam back and was annoyed that the other person didn't catch it (he had told him to make sure everything was ok before they left). He fixed it in a few minutes and came out at my convenience though. Overall, a good experience and I would use them again, but communication could have been a bit better.

The electrician was very polite and professional and provided answers my many questions reference the whole home surge protector. The work was completed in less than 30 minutes and no mess left behind. I will defiantly use KOLB Electric for any future electrical project.

Very well. It was not a complicated job but it was a hazard. Kolb Electric sheduled by appointment with two hours of when I called.

I used them about three times. The first time they were the electrician that was referred to me by the real estate agent. The guy who did it was very professional. He found an outlet that did not have a metal box in it. He said "Oh my" and he sat down and put a box in it. I found that he was very concerned with his work and he did not rush what he had to do.

This job could not have gone better. They finished it in a single day, even though we'd been warned that it might take two days. The trenching was backfilled perfectly. And, most importantly, our lights are just beautiful - discreet during the day, and gorgeous when lit at night. They are the talk of the neighborhood. And they provide plenty of visibility on what had been a very dark stretch of pathway. This is one time it definitely paid off to have the pros do it!
