COLUMBIA ROOFING

Columbia Roofing performed a fast, friendly and expert repair on my roof. I am selling my home and needed repairsf to fulfill a home inspection requirement. The plywood decking around the chimney was sagging and probably water damaged because of improper installation by another roofer 10 years ago. I called for an estimate and someone came out within a couple days. He also found the plumbing vents were improperly installed by the original roofer and found a hole in the metal roof over my bay window. The price quoted was actually a little less than I expected even without the additional repairs. Once I signed the work order, the repair was scheduled in only 2 days. The day before the work date, I got a call they needed to reschedule to two days later because rain was in the forecast. The work was done as expected and the roof is beautiful. The office staff was very professional, friendly, and a delight to talk to. By comparison, I called the original roofer for a quote. He said he would have to replace all the shingles on the back side of the house as well as the ridge vent. No mention of the plumbing vents. The quote was 3 times the price! Columbia Roofing did only what was needed and suggested other repairs to keep my roof in good condition. When I need work done on my new home, I will put my trust in Columbia Roofing..

I used them about 4 months ago to repair a gap in my roof and they didn't charge me to fix it. I give them an A rating and I will use them again.

My sister had a roof put on. It had a leak and one of the owners came out and fixed the roof and gave a $800 refund because it didn't take as long as he thought it would.

Two other companies attempted to repair the same leaks without success. Knock on wood, so far so good with their repair. They were punctual (once I got an appointment; they were very busy), were neat, and did a complete fix. I asked for and was mailed photos they took during the procedure which I appreciated.

Overall it went well. The two guys were friendly and knowledgeable. My townhouse is tall and narrow (4 stories tall) but that was not an issue for them. They also noticed some sealant around some vent stacks on the roof that was developing some cracks and fixed that as well for me. The final price was reasonably close to the original verbal, eyeballed estimate that I was originally given when they first guy came out to give me said estimate. The new trim looks good...I am happy with their work.

They found the problem and did exactly what was needed to take care of it. I felt like I was robbing someone because they charged me so little for the job. It's unheard of that you get a roofer to come out for $300 some bucks. The only possibly negative thing I could say is that it took them a few weeks to come out here, but that simply means they are good at what they do and are in high demand. I would not call anyone else in the future. They are the only ones!

Scheduling of estimate was done promptly & professionally. Roof was inspected outside and then inside where the problem existed. Roofer advised I needed to get HVAC/sheetmetal company to secure furnace flugh before any work could be done. Once I had the furnace flugh repaired, I got in touch with Columbia Roofing. On a Saturday, a crew of 2-men showed up to do the work. Job was completed within 4 hours & after they let me know they were finished, they didn't even ask me to pay the balance right then. About a week later I got the invoice with before & after pictures of the roof. More than 15 months later, all is good with the roof; and I was able to get the drywll in the masterbedroom repaired and both the bedroom and master bath painted. Using Columbia Roofing was easy and enjoyable. Before I contacted them, I asked another company to come out & the guy showed up in a Range Rover w/ a briefcase & NO ladder. He took a look at the inside ceiling damage & said I needed a new roof since they didn't do roof repairs. I quickly showed him out. Columbia Roofing gives you a "fair" shake!

Several of our neighbors have had Columbia Roofing replace their roofs and were pleased with the work. When our roof developed a leak over the garage, we checked them out on Angie's List and gave them a call. Due to the recent storms, we had to call a couple of times before someone got back to us. We did some research on-line and picked out possible roofing grades and colors. Mike Christopolis came to the house and showed samples and answered all of our questions. Due to the weather, the installation had to be delayed a couple of days, but each time we were contacted in advance. The crew showed up promptly and worked very efficiently and professionally. They cleaned up thoroughly afterwards. The roof looks beautiful.

They did do a good job and stopped the leak in our roof. It was a serious problem because the leak was near a fireplace, which made it difficult to fix the leak. But they were persistent and did end up stopping the leak. They also cleaned up after themselves. I initially had to call them a couple of times to see where they were and then they became very timely. Overall, they did good work and I am already using them to fix another problem with our roof.

we had a stain from the bedroom ceiling, so we called columbia roofing. Since it was after the storm, we was able to get appointment about 2 weeks later. They came on time. they had no problem to go up the roof which is 3 stories high. after the inspection, he pointed out about the worn-off sealing and show us pictures he took. He only recommend us to redo the sealing around 3 vents and put new shingles around those vents. It took about an hour. we were satisfied about the service overall but felt somewhat pricey.

Our job went well. The crew showed up early and finished in no time. The area was left neat and clean.

Columbia Roofing guys showed up within the timeframe quoted, but just barely. They were very pleasant and listened to my concerns. Although they did not perform any repairs, I believe they thoroughly examined the roof trying to find where the water could be coming in from. They also checked out pipes directly above the stairway-door to see if the water could be coming from there. Unfortunately, they were not able to find the cause of the rain water, but gave me some recommendations on what to look for the next time it rains. I appreciated their professionalism in really trying to find the problem and will definitely call them back once I've gone through the steps they advised for trying to see where the rain is coming in.

There was some debate as to whether or not we needed to replace our roof of unknown age, because of a previous comment made by a general contractor, here on other work, regarding some waviness in the roof. After that concern was raised, we contacted a well known roofing company in our area, who said we needed a new roof and that we also needed to replace much of the plywood underneath, which would cost around 40K with discounts from 50K (the original quote). This roofer also told us we had to "act now" or the roof would get worse, which would translate in to a larger expense later. We told our neighbor who once did construction about the quote, and he came over with a friend who was in the roofing business, and this friend contradicted the first roofer, by saying we did not need a new roof. So, not sure who was correct, we looked for a top rated company in Angie's list to give us another opinion; thus setting up an appointment with Columbia Roofing for this morning. They were very professional, from the person who took the appointment, to the courtesy call last night reminding us of the 8:30 am visit, to George C. who did the estimate, and who was exactly on time. Before I could relay any of this history, and the motive for having him come out, he said we did not need a new roof, probably for a couple of more years. As we walked around on the roof, inspecting different aspects, I told him what the other roofers said, and what the first roofer wanted to charge, and he assured me this was just a sales pitch. George, showed me some nails and flashing that needed to be re-sealed, and other maintenance things that I could handle myself, and told me what to look for at Home Depot to repair these issues. George said to give him a call in a few years, if we start having problems with the roof. I was also impressed with George's knowlege about the make of shingle, and the estimated age of the roof, and his over-all professionalism. He quoted me between 9K and 18K when we decided to do it, and gave me a booklet of materials to study. I want to mention also, that you can judge alot about a company by the equipment they drive. George's van was a late model, and had a very ingenious ladder rack, that tilted down, and used what look like friction clamps to hold the ladder in place. I could tell by the condition, and neatness of the van this was a very serious man and company. Thank you.

I contacted Columbia Roofing thru Angie's List, and immediately was contacted. There were several aspects of the job that I discussed over the phone. Shortly thereafter an appointment was set by the company. We were stood up for the appointment and never heard for them until a report was e-mailed to me approximately 30 days later. It was only for one of the needed repairs, and could have been done by a mere ride by. I e-mailed them back to be told several times during the conversation that I was wrong an apparently was referring to another company. They were the only contact thru Angie;s List. I had contacted another roofer that I had used for many years, but did not do the repairs, except roofing. Besides the lack of respect for my needs and time, Columbia Roofing called and insisted that they did not schedule the roofer, and remembered that we also needed other repairs. The only estimate that they surprisedly e-mailed me was for slate roofing and the price was exorbitant.

They were the people who installed the gutters initially about three years ago. We agreed upon a date for them to come. But I had to reschedule that because my wife was sick. They accommodated that. They came out and did it. Everything has been fine.

Great job! Came on time with large crew and completed job in one day. Covered plants to minimize damage and cleaned up after job was done.

They were very professional. Their price was a little bit higher but they were very professional and had a good track record. They gave a very detailed printout on what they would do.

My interaction with them was fine. They were good. I didn’t even have to give them a deposit on the work. They came and completed the work and invoiced me for it afterwards. I think I spent around $500 for the work. Also, they actually came out on time to give me an estimate on the roof. The problem I had was, I had a furnace flue that was loose and they told me that I would need to get the HVAC company to fix that first before they did any repair on the roof, if not it would be to no avail. They were good to work with. I would definitely use them again in the future if needed.

They were quick and responsive to email and phone contact, but their price was much higher than another roofer.

We had tree damage to the roof. They were great, no surprises. Everything was cleaned up.

I scheduled the first appointment of the day (8am) so that I could get to a meeting on time. The service person called me at the time he was supposed to be here to say that he would be 20 minutes late because he decided to run an errand first. He was 45 minutes late. The necessary repairs were evaluated and I was told I would received a call with the estimate later that day or the next day. But no one ever called. I called them and finally got a response the following week. They could not get the parts, so they could not do the work. Also, when the service person arrived, he expected to do the work and was surprised to hear that I was waiting on another estimate. I thought that was odd since this company advertises free estimates. What's wrong with due diligence?

First rate -- I went to work and let them do it. Took parts of 3 days. THey left the place clean. I saw photos of the finished product.

Good. They came earlier than expected (if I had not been home, don't know if they would have come back) but none the less, employee was curtious, cleaned up well and seem to do a good job. Officer personnel was helpful as well.
