Description of Work: We've used them several times in the past. The most recent visit they took off old shingles, repaired the boards underneath with fire retardant wood, replaced the gutters and downspouts, and put on a new roof.

Description of Work: During a recent heavy rainstorm, I had developed a roof leak that was coming from a vaulted ceiling with no way of checking for a point of origin. I called Columbia Roofing who replaced my roof in 2010. I spoke to Tracy who was incredibly friendly and efficient. She was the only one in the office at the time so she had to make some calls and call me back when a crew could get to me. Within an hour Tracy called back and told me that she could have a crew to me the next day. Mike Heater and his assistant Santos were there a little early and after a couple of hours diagnosed and fixed the problem! I was outside of their 5 year parts and labor window but there wasn't the expected banter back and forth about warranty. They fixed the problem and I couldn't be more pleased with their rapid response and efficiency. This company deserves the highest complements for the way the stand by their work. I will be a customer forever! Thank you, Tracy, Mike, Santos and Columbia Roofing for a job well done!

Description of Work: New gutters, gutter clips, down spouts and two new areas of porches that never had gutters. Matched downspouts into existing underground pipes to carry water away from the house. Also replaced a few roof shingles that had been damaged during storms. After installation, I had one question regarding the connectors of the downspouts to the underground pipes and a supervisor came out to answer my questions on-site the next day. Fabulous customer service. Would absolutely use Columbia Roofing again.

Description of Work: They replaced the roof on our house. It is a large complicated roof structure and required more than average roofing skills. The did a fantastic job. We feel confident that the care they took in putting all the components that are needed to protect the house will work correctly for years to come. They did not try to oversell us on extras that would have raised the price but to the uninitiated would have seemed to be necessary to do to assure success.

Description of Work: Outstanding work and price was thousands lower than Mid-Atlantic roofing who had tried to rip us off with sketchy and pressure sales tactics. Columbia Roofing knocked our main roof and porch in less than a day cleaned every thing up and followed with with an inspection. They even offered a cash price discount vs. Credit card which saved us a few hundred dollars. I would not hesitate to call Columbia Roofing ever again.

The roof was constructed with faulty plywood so the shingles blew off and the builder would not except responsibility and repair it for us so we found this company here on Angie's List. They were wonderful! Rod G. came out to give us an estimate on the repair but since he had the supplies with him he went ahead and fixed it that day for us. This company is professional, responsive, and honest. We will not hesitate to call them again. They were wonderful!!! Thanks so much!!!

 + -1 moreAll I can say is that this company is very professional and has it together. They came out, for the estimate and the roofing work right when they said they would. In fact, the estimator was early because of a cancellation. I work nights and was asleep so I didn't hear him at the door. He waited until I came out after I woke up (about 1/2 hour or so later). They were very thorough. Everyone I dealt with was helpful, courteous, and friendly.
Description of Work: Remove and replace 4 plumbing vent collars. Seal rear dormer flashings. Seal seams in shingles where water leaks are occurring. Replace shingles, with fasteners breaking through, with new 20 year shingles. Remove related debris.

 + -1 moreIt is hard to find roofers who will come out for a small job, which ours was. This company responded within a week. It's nice to have someone say work is not needed. That implies honesty to me.
Description of Work: We thought that our flashing might need to be repaired or replaced so we asked for an estimate. The inspector said that the flashing was good for a few more years and the roof looked great. Their minimum work is $375 so he suggested that when the flashing was replaced that we also include collars around pipes. He discovered crumbling mortar on the chimney and gave us the name of someone they recommend in that field.

 + -1 moreI was very pleased with how much they charged me for this service. I feel like I got a great deal. They did a wonderful job with everything. They were very easy to get in touch with and they also were able to schedule me immediately to have the work done.
Description of Work: I had them replace the roof on my 5 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom home. They did remove the old shingles. There wasn't any plywood underneath that needed to be replaced. They also replaced the flashing around the chimney for me. I went with 50 year architectural shingles.

 + -1 moreThe company was responsive to the urgent leak although the cost for the 10 minutes it took to place the tarp was $350. I felt I had no choice, however, as I had already had another roofer out 3 times, for $1700, with persistence of the leak. Columbia Roofing came highly recommended so I hired them despite that high fee and they replaced the flashing and noted another soft spot elsewhere on the roof that they later repaired. Three hours after they had replaced the flashing, there was a huge rainstorm and one spot leaked again a little bit. The company came right back out the next day and stated the caulking just had not had time to dry. It has rained since then without evidence of a leak at either of the repaired areas. This is a professional group of individuals. They answered all my questions, arrived on time, cleaned up well and were responsive to my calls.
Description of Work: Emergency visit to tarp leak around chimney. Scheduled replacement of shingles and flashing around chimney. Replacement of area of shingles and rotted plywood on roof.

 + -1 moreRod came out to house to inspect roof leak and to offer an estimate. He looked at both the interior and exterior of roof. He determined that the flashing around the vent pipe was installed poorly by another contractor, and said all it needed was for some sealant to be applied, which he did during that visit. Total amount of time involved less than 30 minutes. Columbia was the only one of over a half dozen places I called who returned my call for an estimate. I understand that roofing contractors are busy, especially when it rains. However, those that want your business should at least have the courtesy of returning your call, even if they can't schedule you for a week. I Give these guys credit. I ended up paying about 1/3 of what an ordinary service call would have cost me, had I not had the work done at the time of the estimate. Fortunately, it was just the repair of two small leaks. I will definitly keep them in mind whenever my roof needs replacing, several years down the road.

 + -1 moreThey did a very good job. The siding is a good quality, the lines are all straight and they did a good job matching the existing siding on the other sides of my house. It is a tedious job, but they were very careful in their work. They also cleaned up the work area at the end of every day and completed the job as scheduled. I hope to use them for the rest of the house.

 + -1 moreEstimater responded in timely manner, approximately mid-point of three estimates. Office staff cordial and knowledgeable, but several annoying rollovers to voicemail. No one staff person could respond to all my questions regarding contract, date scheduling and payment arrangements. I asked to be moved up on the schedule because the old roof had begun actively leaking. They were able to move my job about 2 weeks sooner. On the day scheduled, a well experienced contract crew executed the job in a cordial workmanlike manner, carefully removing debris. They completed the job in one business day. The crew leader responded to all my questions. I had previously asked contract saleman to replace several loose gutter spikes with screw-type devices on a time and material basis. The crew did not have a power screwdriver or bits, and were unable to complete this minor task.
Description of Work: Complete roofing tearoff and new roof (approximately 900 sq ft), repaired rotted portions of sheathing, flashing 1 small chimney, removal of debris.
